Been away looking after my grandchildren for a few days to missed whats going on. How's the "Trip" going
came home yesterday. We had a wonderful time in Veyrier and Annecy. Grew even closer, and the beauty of the lake and mountains and other scenery was grand too.
So where is Rose headed now, dying to see photos
Rose and Don are in Italy now. They will try and send me some pictures soon, and I will put them online for y'all.
How lucky they are to be able to see so much
oh yes! It is really a dream come true for them.
I was wondering how they are coping with the heat then I thought duh they live in Australia so are used to it. My son was just in Rome and temperatures were in the 30's He found it too hot
just popped in for a minute, so happy Sprite that you were able to spend time with Rose and Don. Looking forward to the pictures.
they are used to it, indeed. Though for Rose it can be hard, because of the FM. But as long as the pain is under control, so is the temperature. She is managing very well so far.

no, this was goodbye for a long time, Maisie, alas. But Rose said that now she has seen how traveling works for her, she can easily picture them coming back, and then only for two or three weeks in the Netherlands. So I am not too sad... although saying goodbye was tough.
Won't it be nice now, to be able to actually see a face when you talk to Rose online
Bet it was, I hate goodbyes but sounds like something to look forward too.
flosey: Rose is really doing very very well so far. Worst are the feet, that sometimes swell something fierce. But apart from that, everything is under control.
oh yes, flosey :) It is. Though I already knew her face. But to know all those expressions and how they change from moment to moment, that is precious.

I hate goodbyes too. Suck at them. But cannot be avoided in life ;)
goodbyes are never easy but the wonderful memories are lasting
Rose and I have always said we are soul sisters and we have cemented that feeling over the last few weeks. It is amazing how alike we are and how close our friendship is. And it is wonderful that we click with eachother's husbands as well, and our husbands with eachother. That is another gift... you can never know if that will be the case, can you.

not sure, Maisie. We learn english at school here, for me from 12 yo on. At some point I started reading english books for fun, which helped. Playing online games and chatting too. And I learned a lot from babble and babblers.

We have had lovely weather here...a true spring and now a lovely summer...just a few icky, sticky days so far
I like heat, but this is the hottest, longest hot spell in the 18 yrs I'be been living here
This place has a great climate, but it's definitely warming -- no hard frost for two years and hardly any snow. It used to be deep enough sometimes for my Rufus to make tunnels
We, otoh, have had a very pleasant spring [with a few exceptions]. But, here too, winters are not as cold
