Hi all
hi Liz
got it, tks
BBL
why nothing but red boxes?
It's so frustrating, isn't it?
yes but strange
has everyone been getting them? the page was full of red boxes
It's happened a lot this week. I guess the server is having problems again.
i've had some but I just went away for a while and then came back.
ah, indeed it has been a few days
I just block the whole thing
but now I'm off to bed, 75 for tomorrow, goodnight all
Sleep well, Flosey
Goodmorning. Lovely big Sazturday grid.
hi ruby, can't sleep so might as well try to find a few more words
good morning all
good morning Sprite
good evening flosey. Sorry to see you cannot sleep, but happy to see you. How was your day today?
Hi Flosey. What keeps you awake?
strip
strive
sorry,l'll be quiet now
strange, normally alseep at this hour
lol, had not even seen the k, and now I have found all the k words. If this keeps up, I'll have to stop bemoaning the k grids.
perhaps a cup of tea will help! brb
always a good idea
gonna grab me a cup of coffee, you inspired me, flosey. Back in a few.
enjoy Sprite - that would be my first choice but not at this hour!
hehehe no, mine neither late in the evening. But to start my day with a latte macchiato... soooo good. And I made my love a cup of normal coffee, he is enjoying his saturday morning ritual of coffee, newspaper and radio.
that sounds like hubby here - coffee and the morning paper
:) I don't enjoy radio or newpapers, but I certainly enjoy seeing my love enjoying himself.
me too, no tea in the morning!! unless not well
there is a herbal tea here rather new on the market, with ginger and citrus. That one, I could drink at any time.
that does sound interesting
must look for it
it is this one, but the brand is dutch, not sure if you can get it there. Would love to send you some, but I don't think it will be allowed? http://tinyurl.com/ydfoglbb
will let you know if I have any success - there are specialty tea shops around
great! Keep me posted, if not, we will find a way to get you some.
not here but in Victoria or Vancouver
usually, when the Albert Heijn chain brings out something new, it is not new, but copied or even just bought up and given a AH package.
there's a specialty tea shop in Victoria - and quite likely more in Vancouver - larger city
actually, probably several, Victoria is quite British
I bet you will find it there. Fun, to go searching for a new taste :)
it is!
I was googling to see if I could find another brand that carried this flavour. Found a recipe for homemade instead, simply use green tea as a base, chop up ginger root and infuse for 20 mins, and add some lemon juice and stevia or honey. Very healthy drink!
this is the site: http://tinyurl.com/ycwdku9r
well, of course!! one can always try copying, will do that Sprite
:) me too, am gonna try that later today.
am thinking it will probably make a great ice tea as well. Might be worth making a big batch and putting it in the fridge in a glass bottle.
I think I'd better try again to sleep!! just after 2: am
ouch. I hope you'll drop off straight away now, flosey. Sleep well *hug*
good night a;;
all think fingers are tired too!
*grins* Time to put them to bed then.
and bye now,
fireflies. Bye all.
Phantom : Testosterone.
That was ballsy of you Zoom : )
lol
Did you get over your night of drunken debauchery without too much damage to your head? : D
Yeah I was okay in the end thanks. I had a big glass of water before I went to sleep so did not have a headache in the morning :-)
Smart move. So much of a hangover is dehydration.
Thankfully for me it is very rare for me to drink much alcohol. Probably will not have any for long while now. Just now and again I feel like...sod it I am going to try and have some fun lol
Hello zzoozz and Molly
Hello, Ruby :-)
And good that you do that. We should all have more fun.
Hi Ruby
221 words earlier while lurking
Nice going, Ruby. i have 167 at the moment.
I miss 5PM martini time with my husband; we had that for many years, even in our office
But, of course, it petered out those last years
If they bring back nice memories, Ruby, you could still have one at that time and say cheers to your beloved one. I am sure he would be smiling back at you saying chin chin!
It is those enjoyable rituals that you miss the most when they slip away from you. Maybe you could invite a friend over for 5PM martinis once in a while.
When you say "martini" in France, they think of sweet vermouth!
Oh, that is nasty. Well, you can make "their" martinis and "your" martini. : D
Haha
Must confess I have never tried a martini.
As they are very strong, I had to add a little water to mine
I don't like vermouth at all. My idea of a good martini is ice cold vodka in a fancy glass. : D
When I lived alone (between husbands), I would drink Smirnoff out of the freezer with room-temp Evian
Sounds bland, but it was pleasant
No, it sounds awesome. The freezer is the best place to keep vodka.
I like southern comfort & lemonade myself.
And l'd drink it while preparing my dinner as l cooked, way back when
That reminds me of a chef on TV called Keith Floyd. He wowould always drink wine whilst doing the cooking program lol
We had a creole southern chef here (Justin Wilson) who also drank wine while cooking. He would say "a little wine for the food, a little wine for the chef."
Although I never saw her, only John Belushi's spoof, Julia Childs did the same thing
pr
Hi Mari
That was Dan Akroyd's spoof and it was hilarious. That is back when Saturday Night Live was good.
AAH, l misremembered.
Akroyd and Belushi were like salt and pepper. Hard to think of one without the other.
Here, I only get clips on Youtube
The Vs are really hard going.
May I pls have stats or a hint for a nine and the ten
Do you have all the snake ones?

ty bichon, l found on* of them
How was he with anaesthesia?
no problem. He was groggy when he first came home, but the next day he was fine. He didn't even have any pain
I'm still woried about Rufie and will have to get friends to help me take him go the vet
He is not himself
no doggie ambulance or uber
There are taxis, but l can't expect a driver to wrestle a reluctant large dog
My frieend Nadia is strong and we can take my car and maybe the housekeeper, too
Hope all goes well
I'll see what thee vet says before we go.
He is such a lovely boy but is acting grumpy with his sister andkeeps burrowing into corners
I have no business having such a arge dog
Try luring him with liverwurst. My dogs will follow that stinky food anywhere.
Or with Brie, his favorite
;)
But he gets panicky in the car, such a big sissy
get Bichon, no worries with that breed [except on rare occasions
But could one protect me and the house?
I'm pretty isolated here
LOL no.
But he will be a great companion. And he cold sleep in your bed
Imagine me in my bed with two 70+ lb dogs!
Marco's only 14
I like that nobody comes on the property unless l tell them it's OK as Rufe looks very fierce
We live in an area that's very dense

is he still alive, or was he executed or died in prison?
he's still alive
he got through on the Rose Bird Supreme Court no death penalties
i saw an updated mug shot of him the other day
most of his hair is gone
they update mug shots?
yes that was the first time i heard that - they take new mug shots every 3-4 years so if they escape they have a more recent picture
yes.. when prisoners are in their cups
they should really start doing mug videos
when you see someone in a still, they can look fairly different from how they look with dynamic facial expressions and stuff
true, but still better than using a 30 year old pic
and trying to imagine what they look like today
yeah. just seems like tech is so easy these days, might as well use it
yeah jeez they could just use their iphones
I think the Nazi symbol on his forehead would kind of give him away don't you?
i was thinking in GENERAL ru, not just him

hi Scrabs
Penquis, I am going to Acadia NP on August 1!
in9/54 please
sorry, don't have it yet...
Aug. what??
in 9 - state of having no action or motion
ty, liz...
Nope, I mean August 31.
yw
cool...nice time of the year to go....i am about 2 hours from there, down the coast....
Maine is a huge state! Boston to ANP is a 6-hour drie.
at least... ;o)
i suppose you go up the pike to Augusta and take a road off that?
And 12 hours from here, so we will stop north of Boston each way.
We will do whatever Google Maps tells us.
if you try to go up the coast on Route 1, it will take you a lot longer than you think it will...
lots of traffic on Route 1...
So what is the inland route?
I would have to look at a map....it's not a road i would take from here....
I was studying a map earlier today.
so you are driving up from Boston area on Aug. 21?
sorry...Aug. 3!?
re9/72 pld
Yes, we leave here Aug 30 and will stop north of Boston to hike or kayak.
re 9 builds off the re 8...which builds off the st 6...
nice...
Acadia NP is on my bucket list for hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking.
must not have the right st6
it's a beautiful place....the carriage trails are nice for biking...
The st 6 means to try really hard

oh...found it...
i am done...
Scrabbler, you going to Acadia NP?
shoot, a full hour later, scrabbler prob gone
I am here now.
Hi there!
Yes, nrkii--Acadia NP for the trifecta of hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking.
It's great to see you here.
If you go to Acadia, you'll be just 1 hour away from one of my favorite places, which is Nervous Nellies Jams and Jellies on Deer Isle.
Totally worth the detour.
I will write that down now.
http://www.nervousnellies.com/
The sculptures are great and the jam is even better.
And if you are going soon, BUY local blueberries on the side of the road if you see any
Blueberries this time of year in that part of Maine are insanely good. Unlike any others in the country.
I see Deer Isle on the map.
I LOVE blueberries and already collected 12 lbs (and ate 4 lbs while collecting) at a local farm.
I used to rent a house every year on Deer Island (in the town of Deer Isle) and then I would drive to Bar Harbor for the day.
Haven't been in several years though. Am just now pondering another sailing trip in September, which will take me up in that area, but I won't be able to get to Nervous Nellies from the boat.
I order a case of her jams every year. Great gifts.
I am excited but my mother doesn't want me going in case she gets ill. So I am supposed to put my life on hold until she is gone?
No, you are not.
You are right to not let yourself be manipulated, if you'll forgive my saying so.
She truly wants me to cancel the trip. Not fair to me or my friend, and SO selfish.
I need reminders to just go and have fun. I left the Adirondack Mtns a day early because of her recent illness.
GO. And have fun! It is a gorgeous part of the world.
Acadia NP is on my bucket list and this trip is long-awaited. Tonight my mother asked me which city is closest so that I could fly home if she is ill.
Maine is my favorite place. I hope I get to move there someday, when Lambertville gets boring. :)
I love New England and I think I will fall in love with Maine.
If you get a chance to do any day trips (and I know you might not with all the hiking and kayaking), Stonington and Castine are wonderful little towns.
Bar Harbor and the other towns on Mt. Desert Island might still be a little crowded, but of course the park is just gorgeous and big enough to not be too crowded.
When do you fly to Boston?
We are not going there to shop. We will be active every day. Castine is a place we might see, if we kayak on the Penobscot River.
We are driving (12 hours) but my mother already told me that I must fly home if she needs me. I didn't tell her that I will shorten my trip if she is seriously ill only. And she is fine now.
Yeah, neither town is good for shopping, so a good thing you're not looking for that. :) Both are just classic old villages. Castine is fascinating.
We could kayak into Castine.
Oh, long drive, but much easier to have your car.
W will have our boats and bikes.
We are staying with a friend north of Boston to split up the long drive.
Here you go, from Castine: http://tinyurl.com/y95zbw6u
Is it pronounced Cas-teen or Cas-tine?
Cas-teen
Thanks.
We are staying at a B & B on Mt Desert. I forget the name but it looks totally charming and we can walk/bike from there.
Mount Dessert. ??? Is it made of cake?
I wish, Ruru.
I've hit a wall over here with 27 to go
