Very sad occurrence in town this a.m. Our officers responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. 25 year old kid on his way to work at Amazon (which is right up the road). 6:30 a.m., still dark. He was killed instantly.

Life lesson: always take great care when crossing any road, especially when dark. It looks like he was in a crosswalk, so not sure if he was jay walking or the car was ignoring the signal.
or if the driver was doing something on his phone....that's what i worry about....

I can't imagine how horrified I'd be if I struck someone with my car.

i did once many years ago.....actually, the person struck my car....14 year old girl ran out from between two parked cars and hit me on the passenger side headlight area, flopped onto my hood and windshield and then back onto the pavement....luckily she was not hurt other than some bruises....it was right in front of the fire station in the summer.....the firemen were all sitting outside and saw it happen....they responded before i could get out of my car....

yes...apparently kids had been doing that ll day and the firemen had warned them that someone would get hurt...
it was awful, but it turned out ok....and thank goodness for the firemen....they took care of everything...

i think it's illegal to do that in crosswalks in some towns...

the mall over here used to have a decorative feature, a river flowing down the middle of the walkway -- i always thought that was a baaaad idea. they recently paved it over
In the college town near us, the City has painted signs on the ground at the entrances of the crosswalks. They say "LOOK UP".
There are 1.5 million people in the Sacramento area and I swear they are all on their phones while driving

fibromyalgia under control, nerve pain responding well to treatment .... and i have had the best Christmas gift of all. my cardiac doc. knew hat was wrong with my heart, inserted 2 stents, and i feel so much better. it was one of the four main coronary arteries and was almost occluded.
ummm, can you please include some new pics of that gorgeous grand-daughter. and who had another one? i am so out of touch.
