I'm out. I'll get the rest tomorrow. G'night all.
good morning all
Hiya Sprite
hiya Rainiqui! I hope you are well today?
good morning Sprite - almost 11: pm here
*hugs flosey* Good evening to you, dear lady. How was your day?
I'm well Sprite, thanks
that is good to hear, R4iqui ;)
Flosey - you must be out west?
has been a good one Sprite, quiet!! but restful - and how was yours
yes Raini - small island off the coast of BC
quiet and restful are very good things, in my opinion, lol. I try to get as many of those days as I can. My day yesterday was good, pretty restful too.
I'm in Canada's southernmost city - Windsor Ontario
ah, I'm originally from East of Toronto - later from north of TO
People don't believe me when I tell them we're on the same latitude as the northern California border, lol
I was unaware too Raini!
that's a funny thought :)
ra
sorry
Sometimes I speak with a southern accent just to throw people off, lol
lol
Took me a long time to reach CA - by train daily, and off to visit and sleep in whatever town we were near - back in my younger years!! girlfriend and I left TO to visit school chums in California
ah, the good ole days
indeed!!
unfortunately, all 3 are no longer with us
but we're still here for you !

must be one of the tough things of growing to the ripe old age... having to let go of so many family and friends
indeed it is Sprite, still quite hale and hearty at 86
you and jilli are so amazing. I want to be like you when I grow up.
somehow I get the feeling you will be Sprite!
from your mouth to God's ear, flosey
Good to hear that you're hale and hearty at that nice age, Flosey! Hi everyone!
I don't see much of Jill - she doesn't seem to be playing as much bridge - some night when my regular partner is not available I must give her a call
Hi hi
{{sprite}}, {{flosey}} {{rainiqui}} {{kam}} hugs and kisses all round. xoxoxoxoxox
*hugs Kam* How are you and your beloved today? Did you get to have another peaceful day?
And we send that your way too !
jilli must be somewhere in her 90s now... maybe she is finally slowing down a little bit?
hugs back Rose, always good to see you
are you talking about Jillibus?
*hugssssss rose* Hello my darling, great to see you. Is the heat abating a bit by now?
*grin*
Rather bumpy day, but we both got lots and lots of chores done. He cooked dinner! Yay him!
yes Rainiqui, jilli - Jillibus
I wouldn't have thought of Jill as being that age!!!
Jill told me on Jigidi that she rarely goes on Babble any more
wow Kam! He must be feeling a bit better to be doing that. Yay for you both!
her profiles says she is 90 now. Though at heart she can't be a day over 40
still hot as before. i feel totally drained.
isn't it nice Kam!! Hubby has, more or less, taken over kitchen duties since I was advised to avoid bending over counters, sinks, etc
He got caught up on the meds at least, so I'm sure he's feeling lots better. He mowed a good portion of the acre today, and I know he enjoys being outdoors. It was a chilly day, so no overheating while working either.
poor Rose. That kind of heat is so debilitating. And then all that red tape to boot, not a good combination. You are not to go out for any shopping for our sake, ya hear?!
*lalalalalalalalalalalalala*
Yes, Flosey, it's wonderful when husbands can cook - and do so!
now Rose, you must listen to common sense
very good, Kam. So great to see he is able to be a bit more active again. A much healthier feeling too, I bet, which will help even more with recuperating.
hies
Rose, we need to equalize weather between the northern and southern hemispheres! You're too hot, we're too cold right now. Six months from now...well...
*pulls rose's fingers out of her ears and repeats: NO SHOPPING on our behalf, stay indoors and as cool as you can*
hi there Rainiqui
Hi Flosey !
oh - I get it now, LOL LOL LOL
Poor guy has another doc appt on Weds, and I know he's worrying about it. Sigh, I wish I could make it easier, but I can only do so much, the rest is him and the docs
*raspberries* talk to the hand, 'cos the head ain't listening... loll
you are there for him all the way, Kam, that is all he needs, I am certain of it
*sigh* headstrong rose... there we go again... needs another spanking...
hah !! you caaaan't catch me....
too true. But I'll be waiting when you return.
Don't be stubborn, Rose, lol! Yes, Sprite, I'm holding him up as best I can - he knows I'm there for him 100%
total waste of a perfectly good X there
*blinks innocently* and just where would that be, dear friend?
just finished my tea, think I'll crawl into bed and get a good night's sleep - much needed
good night all
sweetest of dreams dear flosey. xoxox darling.
Kam, that is priceless. Please do not worry about not doing enough. You hold him up, and he feels bolstered to handle the treatment.
Sleep well, Flosey.
Good night Flosey
sleep well, flosey, and dream of nekkid beautiful men and great hands in bridge.

hmmmm rose... where you expect it least!
redneck babblet and hairy-nosed dolphin babblet alerts
already had the dolphin, thanks for the redneck, lol - that one always makes me laugh!
me too :D
did you find the babble idiom list at the bottom of my profile, Rainiqui? And of course our very own babble dictionary, with words that should be words but are not (yet)
yes thanks
awesome
have a program on, Countdown, it is from the 70's and 80's. full of music, songs, performers which i matured to. what is strangest.... the clothing.... it's all the fashion again... lolll
fashion returns with about 20-year's leaps
There are just some styles I can't even think about wearing again, mostly 60s. I just feel too old now, lol! I tried a couple of old things I had left from the early 80s and felt silly. I just hope shoulder pads don't make a comeback.
watch it, sprite. very thin ice under your feet... rofloll
ughhh I hear ya. Those are UG LY!
I have never looked at fashion, tbh. I wear what I like to wear, which is out of fashion most of the time, I guess.
of course, rose, you have seen MANY more of those leaps than I have... *ducks under table*
and not comfy! I used to cut them out, then the clothes had too much shoulder fabric left and looked worse.
and the looser the better. i simply cannot bear anything tight. never have, since about 6 years old
oooohhh, there's ducks under the table. do bring me one with orange sauce.
yeah, can't cut out the pads from most of those clothes, they are build around them. I like loose clothes too, a flowing, swirling style
that goes with the sangria sprite...
*puts orange on mouth and plays sitting duck*
I did try to dress nicely when I worked. I still do if we're going somewhere. I got hooked on leggings last year - they are the most comfy things ever, and since I managed to loose a lot of weight over the past few years, I can get away with wearing them. Hubby really likes them, as long as I have a tunic top.
I thought I was marinated in sangria
ROFLOLLLL sprite
I've been enjoying a baggy saggy top and sweats the past couple of days, so comfy!!!
oh yes, love leggings! Cannot wear them yet, but my weight is going down now that I do no longer have binges. So will be able to again some time this year. Leggings with loose, long tops... such a pleasure to wear and so pretty to look at
i saw a female personage in leggings the other day. made me think of two puppies under a blanket... loll
everything rolled and bobbed.
ohhhh yeah... too short a top, that lady. I like them kneelength myself. narrow at the tits and wide at the hem
in OA (and AA) they say: Get up. Dress up. Show up. Which is what I am doing today, lol. Though the dressing up part is not that big, just a necklace to go with my baggy pants and cute top
I hate the light colors - especially the ones that look like skin - those are bad!
indeed. Why wear leggings when they make you look like you forgot to put on legwear?
Have to run - good night all !
sleep well, Rainiqui!
see ya raini
Night, Rainiqui! Sleep well.
or have a good day... not sure about your time
Merci mes amies
kam, ask what my wardrobe is like. sometimes you need sunglasses.... at night
mine is basically black, with some bright colours here and there, and lots and lots of autumn colours. That is what I like and that is what looks good on me.
yes, but you have that gorgeous skin colour which goes with just about any colour.
awww what a lovely compliment! Thanks, darling.
I wear mostly jewel tones, but I have some crazy leggings - worn with demure tops
oh, talking about crazy... one of my secret sins is that I really love crazy socks. The crazier the better. Whenever someone asks me what to bring me from their holidays, I say, find me the craziest local socks.
I love crazy socks! I just got some elephant ones. My doctor had on flamingo socks last time I saw him, lol!
what size, sprite?
oh priceless, Kam!
38 or 40, rose :)
hmmmm, *secret smile*
I just got long ones that look like I have ostrich legs. They are really too crazy, and I am gonna wear them anyway!
and no wool right?
That's obviously a European size, lol! Sounds more like a bust measurement...
ah, the funny ga mineral is back
no wool. Cannot wear wool in any way, alas
yes it is, Kam, lol. Very different, our sizing tables. Let me see...
That would be a ladies medium here...
it is about 6.5 UK and 7 US
fits shoe sizes 7-10 usually, but I don't remember the European size conversions now
that is around european size 40
The last sandals I bought I paid to have shipped here from Australia! The last two pair I could find in the world - I LOVE Earth Kalso shoes with the negative heel. I broke the pair I had, and they were the most comfy sandals ever - one pair is still almost new, so I'll have them for at least 2 more summers.
that bites so bad, when you find something just perfect for you and they go out of production :(
kam, you have my email addy. anything i can find for you, let me know.
I guess I'm used to socks that stretch? I usually wear merino wool, and I know you said you don't like wool. I'm having trouble finding thick hiking type socks this year for some reason. I've almost worn holes in my favorite pair.
yeah, I usually wear one-size socks too.
Thanks, Rose! Do you know any stores that carry the negative heel Earth shoe? The company went off on new styles with heels, and I have one big toe joint that's fused, and the other is a replaced joint - I like my weight on my heels, not my toes!
I often wear funny socks over my elastic ones, lol
kam, try and log into katmandu site. see if you can find them.
sidenote: nice to have pe5 and hu7 together
I used the X, I used the X!
whoot for you sprite.
and fireflies. Last word ar7/40, rhyming with the ti5 feline.
got to go, time for the meeting. *hugs* to you both. Sleep well, dream naughty dreams and have a terrific day tomorrow. Rose, you stay cool and indoors, okay? Careful with yourself in that heat.
yay Sprite!
WTG SPRITE !! what a woman.... AND she's my friend
we are friends and will always be, rose. You're da sistah of my soul, ya know :)
Have a lovely day!
*grins smugly* yeah world. what do think of that? huh ?
Good evening all. May i please have a clue for ar6-21?

Thanks much, 'm dear.

Good morning all xx
wow !!! worzel !!! HUGS AND KISSES.... Happy New Year dear man
Happy New Year to you too mum - I trust you are resting properly? xxxx
and hugs and kisses for our beloved, bless her.
sept
oh bugger sorry!!
Our beloved is still in bed - she was up til nearly 4am playing Facebook games lol xx
i wouldn't dare not rest. my youngest son turned 32 last week. waaahhh. i'm not old enough for a 32 year-old child.
good lord, worzel. what a naughty girl. didn't she know you needed her beside you?
or under, or over... omg...did that come out aloud??
It's frightening, isn't it, where time goes? I stopped the other day and realised that in just a few weeks I'll be 47. I'm sure it was just a few weeks ago I was 20. And yes she should have been beside me lol. Ooo mum, you are rude!!! xx
all good here with the old ticker, thank heavens. and dad is doing well too. we are steadily working our way through government paperwork for my aged paension, and a card which gives me lower rates for doctor and pharmacy. also we have renewed our passports. nextthing to tackle... our wills
I'm kind of glad that we have our health service here - I dread to think how much it would cost if I needed another major operation. As for wills I had to have one when I got a mortgage at the age of 29. I only wish I had a big pile of money for it to be worth having haha, then I could leave it all to the Dog's Trust charity
you had better not. i think diane deserves it more.
Well no, obviously I would give half to Diane and half to the doggies
And she'd be damned annoyed if I did give it to her anyway haha she keeps telling me that
WORZEL !!! do i have to come over there and spank your bum?
oooo is that a promise? haha
ummmm, female psychology....leave it all to her... loll
yes, and i might even use a feather, not the whole chook.
Honestly - she said if I dare to die and leave all my money to her she'd kill me again, then give it all to the Dog's Trust! We're both massive animal lovers so I think I can trust her on her wishes - don't worry though, I'd definitely make sure she was well catered for x
good for you mate
nearly dinner time. hopefully see you next flip. xoxox
OK mum you take care and I promise to be on here more often from now on. Say hi to Dad for me and you both take care xx

Hello kids.
Hello Scrabs
How are you today, Ruby?
Morning, scrabs and ruby
Bea, how are you?
hello bzzz
I'm good. Hope you are as well.
On vacation with youngest sister visiting from NJ since Thursday. She departs tomorrow morning.
How was the snowshoeing?
What have you two been doing?
morning all, that 45 just jumps out doesn't it lol
Lots of snowshoeing and Scrabble.
Say hello to your mom, rasta.
We have three year ld grandson here for a few days. He is not adjusting well to mom and dad's separation.
45?
Separations and divorces are so traumatic for kids.
Our 45th president, whose name shall not be spoken
Will do, scrabs
Yes they are. They have been doing a week at dad's and a week at mom's. That is too long for him to be away from mom.
Women were even marching in Europe!
Poor little boy.
I did week on/week off with my daughter, starting at 2 years. She is a very well adjusted adult
Did you start that right away following separation, rasta?
I was happy her dad wanted her at all. He was a better parent this way because he had to engage when he had her. When we were together he left it all to me.
Yes, we did.
She was not at all confused about different sets of rules at mom's house vs dad's house, for instance.
I think part of the issue while staying with dad is they are at dad's mother's all the time and dad is not there. Grandparents run a restuarant and Ben is there all day and night.
Ben is my grandson.
And as a single parent, it gave me breathing space - just when you were tearing your hair out, off she'd go to daddy's. I'd have a week to catch up on homework, housework, sleep, lol! Do a few grownup thing, and then when I was refreshed back she'd come.
I did have the preschool teacher tell me that "we were the only joint custody they'd ever seen work" though. It does take putting the kid first. I never spoke a word against her dad - until she started noticing the stuff herself
I think it will just take time for him to adjust. When he is here, he has a regular schedule with naps and bedtime. He also eats meals. I think they forget to feed him at the other grandma's.
I tell parents in these situations to never speak negatively about the other parent, and that the kids figure it all out someday. The evidence will be apparent.
yes, exactly.
I agree that that is important, scrabs. My daughters get so mad at their dad for saying bad things about me and they are in their 30's. They just leave his house whan he starts.
worked for us. The biggest problem was having to live close to one another. I gave up some career options to stay close.
118 left. I need to get going--shopping for mom and then visiting her. Bye.

Hello, Judi :-) That is a happy snail lol

Oh my...just opened Babble for the first time today and the first word I see???? tr5/16...nice Dr. G.! LOL!!!
yes.. right next to male genitalia also
I had a good laugh as well. :)
But it did turn into a very nice tr10-105
if it had been on top of hooker, I would have seen it sooner
(current joke about the president and paying off hookers)
en 6/24 any hints? not the motor one
en6. en + american soldier + abbreviation for not left
good evening all...thx for the clue, rose!
hey pini. yvw
how's it going?
quite well thanx. and you?
not too bad - still busy at work - still looking for an assistant
not getting it
*giggle* don't look at me.
maggie, which part don't you get?
Oh, come on, Rose...it'd be just a hop, skip, and a jump!
american soldier
(american soldier = two letter acronym)
Think of Barbie's military friend (not Ken)
that did it
tyvm
yvw :)
(hope you don't mind me slippin' that one in there, rose)
no probs pini.
te 6/24 any hints?
(that "friend" has the same name as my brother and he served - now retired)
so, we called him that all that time! :)
tr8 plz/thx (either one)
nm...got the last one
need the tr8/45
te6. te + ele**ant + egyptian sun god
have the first 5 letters...all down hill after that
thx again rose!
tr8. t + not walk + first part of month before october
bingo - got it! :)
one is the gerund of the president
I prefer to think of Bridger terms for those! LOL
*hugs Rose*
hello all
er...Bridge (card game)
hiya sprite :)
tyvm granny
hello honey, go back to sleep....xoxox
hey Pinikula :) How's life?
nah... been awake since 3 am. It is not gonna happen anymore. Might try for a nana nap later today.
oh, it's going...was just trying to talk Rose into being my new assistant - I mean, we're only a hope, skip, and a jump away! (albeit one heck of a jump!)
wow nice! At least you could visit and chat eachother deaf.
OMG...I can't spell tonight...my bad!
from 40,000 up, yup, that's a heck of a jump
Oh, I sure we would...too bad there's a good size body of water between us! LOL
ROFL
an' i ain't doin' it... so there
ah, LOL. Babble desperately needs its own Scotty to beam us over
You two are priceless!
*grins* mad as hatters... part of our charm
Absolutely!
*wonders why hatters are considered mad*
babble madness = having long ago finished grid, going back to chat and still trying to enter words
I guess their brains get overheated with those hats on top
enter some for me, sprite...another 77 more to go here and just pickin' away
let me see... try ar7/40 rhymes with the ti5 feline
*thinking*
got it!!!
yay! That was my final word, lol, so I thought it might still be in need of finding
what about the one right after it?
before the stinky body part
gerund ending
loading for bear, lol
:)
rose, where did you go? Let them squirrels in peace, silly. How was your day?
(I'll take hints for either elusive 9)
(but only if you're desperate for something to do) :)
en9 luring into a trap
quiet day. did the laundry, we're watching a Jim Carrey film called Majestic"
and in9 idem
ah, hence the being distracted. Hmpffffff what has Carrey that I lack??
got the trap (thx); looking for the other now
I vote for nothing, Sprite; you're more awesome! :)
*giggles* thank you, thank you *takes bow*
this is one of his movies i can stand. the rest leave me cold.
the other one has only one letter different
well deserved
*puts bow on top of Rose's head* Yep, definitely an improvement
an5/12 has me stumped (and it's probably an easy one)
*raspberries*
ROFL
an5/12... think Freud, the subconscious female part in men, and change last letter
careful, dear, if the clock strikes, your face will stay like this forever
OMG - I don't work in the Psychology Dept at school!!! I'm in trouble now!
okay... let's try another one... cartoons are an**ated pictures... end with a vowel
but, but, but.... you taught me how to blow them....* blinks innocently*
true, true... but try and remember I also taught you to time them right...
but there was some else was in the loo.... mwaaahhh
alright ladies...do I need to separate you two?
(carefully enters chat)
*giggle* BEWARE!!!
hiya Dorens :)
noooooo we are NOT to be separated. Never.
well, in that case...
*ties bow around rose's raspberry* Yep, even better
nah nah nah sprite *hides behind pinikula*
I'm still stuck on Freud
are you id-ing us pini
Okay, forget Freud. I just realised I can clue it a lot simpler. Cats, dogs, horses and lions are all an**als. Add a vowel for the an5
*hugs ru* Hi there mate, how are you?
hiya ru
yep, would never had gotten that one
seeing which way the wind blows here apparently :D
ga7?
gazzelle is not in the grid
it blows away from rose, mostly because she is doing that raspberry thing
ga7 is a mineral
it is a mineral, Pini. Ga + consonant + alt spelling for not day
zinc related I think
danke!
only 67 more for the monkeys to find
oy
yep, zinc and aluminium and oxygen
oh, I forgot about that other 9...
got the en9
change first letter for the in9
well, that was too easy, drill seargent!
*grins* ikr?
last ha7?
like the one before, change last letter
ha7, to hurt + not out. plural
bingo!
y'all rock (as usual)
*rockin' the night away*
down to 58 now...it just might happen
First time I've played in like 7 and a half years. 79 left.
btw rose, did you see the question in my email?
wtg sinnergy! (and welcome back)
transit
welcome back to the game, sinnergy. I hope you are enjoying yourself
wee kin du et!
oops.
well there's a free word folks.
darn, already have that one!! LOL
lol, good one though
just so you know, if you're going to throw "clues" out...throw out ones I don't have yet! LOL
there were a couple of them, sprite. pondering answers.
I'll work on that :P
I appreciate the effort! LOL
in5 before the in8 that I don't have yet
the one about the package and your beloved
ah, the 8 is the gerund of the 5. In + extension of your shoulder
how do you make it look so easy, sprite? :)
like i said... hard to say... he is always buying himself stuff
;)
will he be hurt, rose?
nah.... he knows how close we two are. he's used to my receiving things from strange people.
What are you two talking about?
:D okay, in that case I will send the package off to you guys. I guess I do qualify as strange people.
*yweaks ruru's nose* sticky beak
I have a package ready here, ru, with gifts for rose and don... but I realised there is a LOT more for rose than for Don
*tweaks*
you're asking a loaded question there, ru...could be just about anything!! :)
Sex toys?
Well, I wasn't gonna go quite there...
ohhhhh good idea!
ir5 plz/thx
ROFLOLLL......RURU!!!! * whispers, close*
gerund, Pini
Well the gift that keeps giving
so long as it's purple, okay?
I need to try that gerund on everything!!!
I thought that was a SOA, ru
Rose must me vibrating with excitement
safe bet in -ing grids, Pini, just gerund everything, lol
Must be
I think that typo is very revealing, ru
talk about freudian slip,,,,,LOLLLL
snap, rose :D
*ROFL*
*wonders if it is hobbit related*
I'm stumped on a 4 (mi4/5 - the first one)...ugh...waiting for the sucker punch
sure, blame frodo
watch ru! don is very sensitive to "small" remarks...
in a manner of speaking, you are nearly there pini
not yours but mi**, switch last two letters
nm...got it, duh
hehehe
I was thinking more like his Uncle. ... dprie. ... you know Dildo Baggins?
babble blindness, Pini, quite common
That was not his uncle, he was not even related to him. It was Dildo Ballings
that's it.... i need a drink... laughed myself into a stitch
ROFL
It's going to be difficulty to finish this grid with this side conversation!
just keep asking for clues and we will get you there, in between the drinks and general silliness
oh ?? can you do it on he side too??
are the mu8s words I should know?
no
eeeek
mu7/8 combo are cattle diseases. End in water falling from the sky, and takes a double consonant in the middle
*sigh of relief* defintely not common! thx :)
the other mu8 starts the same (first 3) and ends in "Like a *****stone cowboy..."
yvw :D
dang, would never have gotten those!
rose, I can do anything on the side that I can on my back :)
no, those are oddball words
*fingers in ear* lalalalala TMI TMI! LOL
*blinks innocently*
oh for heavens sake! don and i were discussing the other day where we would find some mu8 now the Roman Empire is no longer around.
yeah but you guys ran out of normal topics of conversation a lonnnnnng time ago :D
and sprite ?? anything you can do, i can do better..
That would be a 71 sprite
69 + 2?
Exactly
imagine, rose, what we could do together :P
did, dear, did !!
what about the 6 7 6 around those fun mu8s?
(have the last quieting one, but the others are stumping my monkeys)
How are you doin' over there, sinnergy?
la la la la
lose the vowel on last mu6, replace with a vowel
mu7 drop the silent consonant from the 8/55
and mu6/24 change the last letter of the silent one
*eye roll* lose the consonant, pini, lose the consonant
got the 7
mu6/27 take the mu8/55, drop last 3 letters, replace with a vowel
dang, y'all are good with words, too!!!
mu's are DONE!!!
only 34 more to go
all those years of playing babble have given us an amazing vocabulary that we can never use anywhere else
gooooo Pini!
good point, sprite!

<-- deferring to the tag team over there to clue
ar7/40 is the one that ends the same as the ti5 feline
I have 1 se and it's the 4 - are the other sucker punches?
oooh, got the 5/10
nope, they are not that common
I wonder if we'll ever have a grid where ALL of the words will be "normal"
se5/12 is the oldfashioned photograph colour
oooh, I know that one!
se5/12, use squid ink to make this colour
they do, rose? really?
yup
wow...learn something new every day!
se7: SE + a workshop is a semi***, add a double vowel at the end
2nd re6/24?

a female ruler, Pini
or what sprite said.... loll
got 'em! :)
Hey, ru...I need the first and last RUs...figured you might know them! :)
18 to go
I think that is why the colour is called se5, I think. Isn't se5 a word for squid, or for the skeleton of squids?
it's gonna be a close one
oh, so close
lol Pini!

Let's just say we gave it the ol' college try!!!
