flip and hi all
HI hi
hi
Hi all
hi
I thought I'd found the 7, but crayola is not in the dictionary :(
Just checked Lickety's list - he has too many words. He has 2 x 7 letter words, so I guess crayola is the extra.
fireworks - al6/7
Congrats
way to go Mitch
I emailed Lickety and so hopefully he'll adjust his list.
thanks Liz
BBL
I would think as crayola is a brand name, not likely to be in Enable. Always wondered how the lickety list works, it must filter somehow to avoid non-enable words, I guess.
funny, all these years hearing about enable, have never actually "been" there - is it a site with word lists?
want to learn about enable :
https://www.wordplays.com/official-scr\nabble-word-lists/enable-word-list/
good morning all
Good morning Sprite
ah, thanks... removed the \n - doesn't really go to a list as such, huh? guess it's downloadable. I like morewords just fine, works for me.
ah, hello, ladies!
lickety's list also uses the enable word list. The problem is, he uses a newer version than babble does, which is why sometimes the valid words do not fully overlap.
*hugs flosey* Hello dear lady, how are you today?
yes, I see there's an "enable2K".
good thanks Sprite, tired now - but to be expected by 11 pm!! and you?
yeah. Enable is just that. A wordlist, not a dictionary. You can download it if you like and use it like you do morewords. I usually use a2z, I find it more practical. But again, the valid words do not always overlap :)
aaaannnnnndddd goood morning to {{sprite}} and goodeve to {{flosey}} {{rbud}} xoxox
good to hear you are well, flosey. Yes, tired is a good thing at that time of night :) I am fine. Slept very well last night, for a chance, so am happy as a clam!
yesssssss there she is, my bestie! So glad the parcel made it. And great to read you and Don are happy with the contents.
*hugs rose until she squeaks*
*squeaking *
you all want to hear the funniest thing ever?
as for the cr biggie... that is odd, its being valid. Usually, for enable, when the word is being used without a capital, it moves from brandname to word. But this one is dubious. Ah well, you know... enable :D
don flicked on the TV earlier today, only no channels found. he has spent all day, changing TV's, changing antenna sockets, even up checking the antenna itself.
yes, please do tell!
oh dear, I feel a senior moment coming up...
tonight, he flicked on the TV after clearing up, and there were all the channels showing. i laughed til i cried.
LOL!
there was nothing wrong with any of our equipment, it was the relay tower,
hahahaha oh priceless
are you wearing the squirrel socks?
with the thermometer hovering over 30C? of course i am *not, fingers crossed*
lol, true, dat. Wearing as little as possible, I should have realised. Glad Don liked the watch. Just a gimmick, but I thought he might like it.
he actually loves it. he hasn't taken it off since he opened the package.
my clever sprite...
oh wow! *happy*
I was pretty sure you'd find a use for the stationary. So much fun compiling it for you :) Better than one big stack of one kind, right, to have a few of everything?
absolutely. i can choose according to whom i am writing to. oh, the necklace is sooo cute. i think i might get Don to put it on the same chain as my dolphins and solid gold cross. that way i will wear it all the time.
oh that would be awesome :)
and I knew you'd like the pictures... is the frame okay, or too kitchy?
i'm really loving babble at the moment. i am finding even the weirdo's with no problems. still need to consult lickety for the last 10 or so.
the pics were such a glorious delight. and i love the frame. kitch is my second name
wow rose, you are going strong. Nowadays, I use lickety for the last few too. Am spending a little less time behind the puter, and those last few always take forever without a second letter clue.
yay! Happy all around, feels great that I made the right choices to make you happy.
not difficult for you, soul sister
brrrr, just back from letting the dog out, it's a frigid 12 F deg. here, with a couple of inches of fresh snow on top of the 6 or so we got night before last. Dog is getting good at doing hid thing at a record pace.
:D *happy dance*
*his*
hiya rbud! I left some feedback on the enable word list below.
brrrr, that sounds so cold! We are having a cold spell too here, but no snow so far *keeps fingers crossed it will stay that way* Just frost. Which is kinda nice, cold but clear and a bit of sun.
oh, I saw it. I guess I still like Jillibus's description of enable best, heehee!
me too! I put it into the babble idiom list I have in my profile, it is too good not to share.
darling son has left us raising another pup, she's too little to be out in the cold, really, but I try to put her out in the daytime and stay with her. she has yet to "go" outside, prefers the puppy papers and the catbox, much to the consternation of the cats.
:D quite a job for you, but lovely
lolll, rbud. i can imagine the looks on the cats' faces
she watches the big dog thru the window with great interest, and smells all over out there, but still no go.
you are moving the puppy papers a little closer to the door each day, right?
she's into everything, really takes a lot of attention.
rbud, are you putting the used puppy papers outside?
oh, the papers are near all three doors, she likes the one next to the catboxes and the back door best.
never thought of that, but it's really just a bad time to do anything outside.
Puppy papers have crappy articles really
hasn't been above freezing for more than a day or so for weeks. the big dog starts to get funny about his feet pretty quickly.
*rolls eyes* and hello to you too ruru
hahaha, hello, ru!
lolllll oh ru, that one is great. *hugs* and how are you doing?
I am doing ok.
ok is better than lousy, but not as good as great. I hope you will move to great soon.
ruru?? you moving again ??or thinking of it?? to where ??
sorry, dinner ready. xoxox
No. Just buying a second home
lol silly rose... I meant just moving from ok to great. Enjoy your dinner, darling. *hugs*
fw and off to bed, good night all
wtg flosey!!!!!!!!! Sleep well, dear lady, and have a blessed day tomorrow.
thank you Sprite
and you have a lovely day today
thanks! off to see my daughter play in a musical, so I bet I will.
well, not feeling so bad about listing at 20 left, after seeing the words I missed... never heard of many of them.
some oddballs in this grid for sure.
there, done and dusted.
wtg rbud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fireflies here too. Lovely grid. Bye all!
congrats, and have a lovely res of the day! :)

Hello, ((Ruby))
First run through and have 36 words left to find. Happy babbling everyone!
gm, anyone have a clue for lickety's extra, cr7?
nm found it!
Back for a minute until the battery runs down
These late-night binge-wattches leave the PC drained in the morning.
l feel like Hal in 2001!
64 wordds but no i or 7
see you later, kids
Poo...33 left, but no 7. Back in a bit!
No wonder Champ. The 7 is an obscure, out there word.
ha5, please, the last one?
add bullfighter cheer Marc
thanks
yw
OK I give up, need a clue on cr7, please?
sorry, don't have it yet
Hi kids.
Marc, I have fw now... and so the cr7 must be a Lickety addition that does not count.... al7.36 was the 7
howdy Scrabbler
It has to count because it is in the list
hello Scrabbler
Lickety has 105 words on the list; the grid has 104
wow
so, I wouldn't worry about cr7 - have to scoot - have a wonderful Wednesday ! poof
44 left for later. The office beckons me. ENjoy the day.
la5, please?
l + double vowel + first two of white grain eaten with Chinese food
Monetary unit of the Maldives, one of those ultra nerdy Enable words
Morning all. Thx for the L. One day I'll see it on the first pass! Goals. ;)
Someday, someone will hand you 100th of a rupee and you will say "Ooo, a la5!!" : D
Yes I will!!!
Looking back in the chog...stats for the 7 please?
al7/36
I only have one from that A anyway. Let's see what I can monkey...
And by the way, Lickety has an extra word today, cr7
Thx!
The 7 isn't a plural?
al7 is a plural
Oh, you mean the plural of cr6
No, I meant the al. Thanks again!
Oh my, time for more coffee. There is no cr6
omg...your icon! jYou've been on a tear this week, Molly!
I may just be giddy due to an unexpected day off. Snow/sleet/icy roads = Molly doesn't go to work.
Awesome! I try to take Wednesdays off. Didn't work last week. Hope to make some headway on my mailing list. Or not.
I don't get Enable. It allows all kinds of alias Scot words that no one but Scots know, and does not allow craic, a perfectly acceptable and well known Irish term.
So many things make no sense to me in Enable. But I'll still whine about it!
It has lots of Yiddish and Hewbrew words.
Anyone care to clue the al6/7? My monkeys are sleeping apparently.
Hard to clue: sounds like the word that means very old or out of date
al + Sacramento state abbreviation + first two of frozen water, plural
I was all around that, but wouldn't have gotten there. Thx!
Great clue, Jeff7! Got if from Molly's, but yours was good.
every little bit helps lol
cr7....clue please
There is no cr7. Lickety has an extra word.
tyvm Molly!
That cr7 will be driving everyone crazy today :p
It is always a good idea to see if Lickety's total and the grid total match.
croci
Yes, it is just about time for those
Oooh...needed that!
Thanks to Enable, I now know about rare birds of Bermuda. : S
I should look more of them up. Usually just move one with it.
I moved my laptop about 2 feet away, and found a word! Funny how a different perspective can make them pop out.
Hi Babblers - can anyone help with the tr 6 - I have one, but lickety says there are 2 - can't get it even with MoreWord! thanks!
tr6 - three + camp bed
thanks, Bea, Have that one!
do you have the other?
plural of the tr5
oh, duh! wasn't looking down! thanks so much
yw
Last 10...feeling stupid...gahhhh!
I don't think you need to feel stupid with this grid. Lots of weird, seldom heard of words.
just got the ca5/22. for instance.
Speaking of weird words
Yes, that ca5 was my last..
Off I go...bzz...
congrats!
The BEST is when there's no definition for the word...but it counts! co4/11, for instance.
FW. Obscure words be damned! Hagd all

If you check the entire chat log (click on the second icon next to MY FRIENDS above the chat) you will see several mentions of an extra word in Lickety's list...the cr7.
no harm in mentioning it again for later starters

I'm so blind, I can't even find lickety
metaphorically speaking
you don't even need lickety mool
but no cr 7 in case you hadn't been in here that long

I think we should keep looking for it ru
I tried Crayola too

I would never mock a croc

if foreign languages are allowed, and sieur is acceptable, why not croque as in croque monsieur?
It''s a load of croque if you ask me nan
nope - just half a grilled cheese sandwich :-)
*with ham and dipped in egg
maybe they think it so obviously a grilled cheese that they don't want to come off being pretentious
ahora should be acceptable too, at least in Miami
The french love to Add butter and eggs to everything
Miami?
yes, I once asked for directions in Paris, and they gave me them...with butter and eggs
yes, ahora is spanish for now
oh yes - they do know how to eat -- even their "fast" food restaurants are gourmet and everything is cooked fresh
They know how to make wine. That is for sure
and they call french onion soup....soup d'onion...imagine that?
though to be fair it does not have eggs in it, though you can typically find a hard boiled egg pretty easily
only in america is it called that
well, actually we used to call it french onion soup in NZ and OZ too
I’ve had enoeuf of this 😜
not as many french speakers down that way
I wonder if they call it sopa de cebolla in spain
another pun to put in the ol' albumen eh ru?
You know, we haven't had any pun police here lately
Yes. It has been lovely
maybe they hibernate when it gets cold
Why do the French only have one egg for breakfast? Because one egg is an oeuf. Bah dum ching.
I'm going to try that one out on my wife
after 3 weeks I was looking for eggs for breakfast instead of sweet rolls or croissants -- spotted the golden arches and walked in. Imagine our surprise to find the egg McMuffin had become McMorning Sale: An egg fried fresh with a slice of ham served in a croissant. The other choice was McMorning Sucre -- pain au chocolat with coffee or hot chocolate
Well, if she is older than 14 she may get a laugh out of it.
I'll check first

Clue for cr7/40, anyone?
not a real word, extra in Licketdy
crayola?/
MoreWords lists crayola
but Babble does not accept it
Yup
So is there another cr7/40?
no, the only 7 is al7,36
why does Lickety
Tnarg - if you are using the Lickety list - this is an anomaly that he failed to strike from the list
Lickety uses a program to generate the clues and sometimes the dictionary he uses has words the Babble dictionary does not have
co 5/14, first one, pls

Clues are up
Thanks lickety
thanks molly
but the cr 7 is still there. . . sigh
Lickety made a boo-boo ... no cr7 in puzzle...
Refresh, the cr7 is gone. That is why Lickety refreshed his list.
Hi all, back after a long hiatus which included a 5 1/2 week trip to Indonesia for my son's wedding. That's him and his bride in my icon (invisible unless you enlarge it, of course).
Welcome back sue.
ty :-)
And by the way, fireworks.
Hi Sue - congratulations! they both look so happy and beautiful. Hope the required documents are granted quickly and they can be together ASAP
Welcome back!!
Fireworks in celebration of Sue's return.
They're telling us it will be about a year :-( so my son may move to Indonesia in the meantime (which I think is perfectly reasonable)
...and its a lovely place to have extended visits to for you
Exactly. Their long term plan is to settle in Bali, so they will obviously need frequent visits from me :-)
And you will need to stay a long time so that you are not constantly jet-lagged.
oh - very very beautiful
and really only a few hours from Australia
Yes, the jet lag there is really an issue; also the travel time (minimum 24 hours depending on flights and layovers).
Lynxx are you trying to set up a Babble meet-up on Bali? :^)
my arm could be twisted very easily
Well, I'll let you know when my next trip is - probably not for 6-8 months
Do that
anyway, I am off now for a bit, talk to you all soon!
Bye Sue.
bye - and congrats again, lovely to see your family settled
HANNAH IS IN DA HOUSE!
morning Hannah
hai
hai?
thats my way of saying hi
you always use extra letters?
ya, i always say "hi" as "hai" cause if you say it out loud it sounds the same
I suppose it depends where you come from - to me when I sound that out it sounds more like hey (or hay) rather than hi (or high)
ok
actually im from the north, but i currently live in the south, ever since 2014
is that better or worse?
ehhh, a little better in the winter
where i used to live one time we got 14 inches of snow
There seems to be lots of weather extremes all over the USA
every winter where i used to live the temp would go below zero, and so far from where i live it hasnt even got single digits
Hannah, where in the north did you live?
much better
west virginia
stats for N in right column pls

I don
I don't have it
I live right outside Boston. 14 inches of snow is not exceptional here.
We had snow earlier today but it has now turned to rain. Got the snow shovelled before it turns to concrete when the temperature falls later.
oh, well im pretty sure it wasn't exceptional for us either, but i dont remember much about every winter
had rain earlier today - worry that as temperatures drop now and tonight that it will be very icey
i just know about the 14 inches, because my mom had said it

hoya, i always go through the day's old chats for clues %)
Although it seems that this year there has been a lot of snow all along the souther Appalachians.
yea, and we got a little snow here, and they canceled school over it, i laughed really, because i remember walking to the front door of my school, trudging through maybe 2 inches of snow
but here they cancel school just when it snows! haha!
brb gotta load the dishwasher
Have a good evening all, and happy Babbling.
