wtg flosey!!!!!!!!!!! *hugs* and sleep well, dear lady.
ty ty, and you have a lovely day. Is it around 9:30 am where you are?
exactly! Thanks, will do.
it's 12:30 am here on west coast Canada
so far apart in time. But not in our hearts :)
so true
but good night for me right now!
sweet dreams
aerie
fireflies. Short and sweet.
have a blessed day and a peaceful night, all.
First run through and I have 12 left for later. Happy babbling everyone!
Hello to zooz's back. l have 28 for later, but at least it's Spring!
Zoom flits in and out of here like a little bumblebee these days : )
Of my skimpy 49 words, 8 of them are French!
Hello Irish Molly with your lovely symbols
Ooo-la-la
I have to get a lot of work done this Saturday because next Saturday is all about The Day
What are you planning?
Well, Irish meat pies and corned beef and cabbage for food. And a shamrock cake.
l'll see if l can get a flight LOL
<-- loves corned beef & cabbage
I do it all mixed together, somewhat like a hash and it turns out very nice. It makes a nice plate too, with all the colors (I put corn in it...little gold nuggets)
l'm hungry but don't know what to eat.
l made vegetable soup yesterday, so l guess l'll eat that. lt could be worse!
I'm glad you are having nicer weather, Ruby. It is chilly here. Spring is taking it's damn time to take root. Even though the trees are getting pink and the jonquils are up.
Good morning. Our snow refuses to go away. Well, it falls, then disappears overnight, then it falls and disappears overnight. It's also cold this morning. I need spring.
The jonquils' buds survived the cold & snow, but they haven't opened yet. But the house is full of flowers -- brought by friends, all white: amaryllis, lilies, tiny roses in clusters plus deep violet arum lilies and lots of palm fronds and aspà aragus fern. lt makes a lovely "tablescape"
Hello Sukee
That sounds nice Ruby
l can't exercise 'til the embolism goes awaay, but l am feeling pretty well
and very very lucky!
Clocks jump forward here tomorrow, at least that is another sign of spring.
l think it's not for another week or two 'til the time changes. l guess the computer will tell me.
Yours is on March 25 :)
No progress in this grid .Bye for now with 24 to go
Take care, I have 23
Lots of what i consider nonsense words.
Ok, time for my breakfast. 17 left.
I'm so glad that the Eastern Standard Time zone bumped Daylight Savings Time by two weeks in the Spring and two weeks in the Fall. I love the extra light.

slight sarcasm there Molly I detect.

Don't blame me..blame this grid!
i guess i didn't need the list
it seems someone has interfered with my profile, etc. had to reenter all information. No idea how this has happened!!! My words are still all here
Well, everything else is getting hacked these days, why not Babble?
i recently changed my password.. after many years
did you see that posting in the community flosey.. you might want to change your password now
I've been here since 2005 and never changed my password .... mmmm.....
it might be your future son in law messing with you flosey :D
Beloved and I are going to a Bourbon and Bacon Fest this weekend. Fun!
that sounds like fun where at?
Seattle.
I have recently been turned onto some great bourbons and find that I like them.. I used to just drink scotch
I've never tried bourbon, but my husband likes it on occasion. This isn't the type of event we would normally attend, but they had me at BACON. :)
oh.. keep an eye out for Elmer T Lee bourbon. it may change your mind
it is so delicious and perfect
Maybe someone could share the "posting from the community" for people who don't do Facebook.
I just read that to my Beloved, and he said we will look for it, and to tell you he's more of a Scotch person too.
yep.. I can do that molly
he can try it in a restaurant first.. it's pretty hard to find otherwise ch
it's kind of allocated on the wholesale market and retailers who are lucky enough to get a bottle put outrageous mark ups on it generally
Will have to leave my last 12 for tonight at the hotel. (Sure, because after bourbon tasting, bacon and the wines that will also be there, I should be in great shape to play babble! lol!) I told him, ru. Time for me to scoot.
ok.. have fun
appears that Babble's username/password data has been hacked. I don't know if this happened recently or long ago, but my email and password popped up on a site that tracks hacked data (my geeky brother tracks these things). If you haven't changed your password in a while, might be a good idea to do so, and change other passwords too if you use the same password on other, more sensitive accounts.
here you go molly and anyone else not on face book
Thanks Ru. Someone would have to be pretty desperate to hack this board.
lots of creepy hackers out there.
my identity got hacked in the Experian thing and it was a nightmare for a while for me
<---talking to himself again
Anyone have a clue for re7/32?
morning all, could someone clue me the RE5/14 please, it is the only word I have left to finish this grid
Tnarg, to re box
re plus cr 5/12
>>>>>>>>>>>>FIREWORKS<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
tnarg, did youget the re 7/32?
Thanks. You about Pontius Pilate on R**** ho**??
Latin for ecce homo
Behold the man
Probably not intentional in the puzzle?
well.. it isn't PC right now that's for sure :D
I cannot get FW. I have found 75 words, but the grid shows me missing an R6, left column ??? That would be 76 words. Anyone else have this issue?
refresh
I have. Several times.
It also shows I have all 16 R words. But still 'shows' me missing an R word. Very weird.
I will consider this puzzle complete. TTFN
clue for that RE 5/14 pls
nm - found it from that point count
yay!! just got a mail delivery from the library!!
BOOKS AND TAPES AND MOVIES... OH MY 11
How are you and the family doing, SMom?
Back to see if there are any hings in tthe chog. Had a nap, dreaming about Molly's corneed beef & cabbage
please can i have a clue for the 2nd ce6/21
2nd ce6/21 to make something
recep
isn't that the cr6?
Hi everyone - just read the chat about hacking -- is it the babble site or expert profile we need to change our passwords?
Yes wrong it is the first ce 6,21 justchange a vowel
thanks very much cig47
recep - LOL I had y cursor in the wrong box trying re 5,14 with the point count sorry
apparently the babble site nan.. change your password
I don't know. The "message" about hacking wasn't specific about Babble or Expert. And for some, they are interchangeable. To be on the safe side, I would change your password in both places.
This is a sad little frid after yesterday. 😕
Grid, even.
what's going on?
Hi all - don't forget to "Spring Ahead" !
fw, springing off for a nap, lol... Happy Babbling. Ciao
Clue for the lone n, please?

YW
hello friends.
Hi Trifio
hello nef!
How are you doing lately? (I haven't been around much; I had hand surgery in January & am just getting back to using my computer again)
oh dear, I am so sorry to hear about your surgery! I am sure it was a worry for you. Are you in much pain?
It was for thumb arthritis. It still gets sore; but was worse before surgery. This is more of a sore from fatigue
ah. I am glad to hear it has improved your situation! Not much new here - I have been doing a LOT of work on my house, getting it ready to have a new floor laid in an upstairs room where pipes burst NYE.
are you thumbs up now nef?
the contractor is starting the floor next week - will be glad to have it finished
what a bad NYE that was!
yes, ru; doing much better
actually, the funniest thing - it was in what we call the "teen room" where tertiare and her friends hang out. the burst pipe didn't slow them down ONE BIT! THey just avoided the wet bits and partied the night away....ah, youth!
Oh, MY! Crazy kids!
baby's first hangover.....
sort of wet and wild trif?
beloved was APPALLED - I thought it was hilarious
as long as they were safe in your house it sounds good to me
I guess I'd be on your beloved's side; how bad was the flood?
they were indeed, and they, uh, shared their goodies.
OH! NOW I get the comment about hangover!
I think it's really good for youngsters to understand partying and being safe and then learning drinking boundaries by not feeling great the next day. I don't ever get hung over.
... any more?
any more
I did in my teens and twenties
You are so lucky, ru. I've learned that I just can't drink. I have a rare glass of wine on Christmas or NYE; but I usually end up paying for it the next day.
i cut myself off after a glass or two. i just don't like the feeling of being drunk
wine that is.. when i have a cocktail.. i have just one
I think I once told you (ru) that my hubby told me that he dated me because I was a cheap date, or maybe a cheap drunk. Basically 2 drinks & I'm drunk. 1 small glass of wine is more than enough for me since I do feel it's effects
(He'd once dated a gal who drank *him* under the table!)
yeah.. i grew up with alcoholics.. so it's a matter of choice for me
my dad raised us in what he called the "French style" -- we could always have a little glass of wine or whatever with a meal, on sundays. It taught me a lot about HOW to tolerate alcohol
that's good parenting i think trif
That's a good plan, Trifio
Unfortunately, there's a lot of drunks in my family tree; so I've tried to warn my kids about that too.
when i went to paris we saw a family of four (two little kids) enjoying Macon Villages with their roasted chicken.. it is good when you can make it part of the meal and just food, and not a beverage to get loaded on
I've been looking up Manhattan recipes today.. i want to learn how to make a perfect manhattan
One of my uncles told me that there were 2 types of drunks in the family; those who could drink like a fish & then pass out & then those that pass out after just 2 glasses of wine. He said he was in the second group.
I was pretty much the same way with my kids past the age of 14. If they were going to be home ALL night, and absolutely NOT driving, they could have ONE beer, or mike's hard lemonade, or A glass of wine. This policy did NOT extend to their friends, as those children don't belong to me.
both my parents had unbelievable tolerance for alcohol
Are there lots of Manhattan recipes, ru? And how do you compare them?
there are lots of recipes
I am quite a lightweight, so two glasses is my limit
count for the n please?
i think if you don't drink a lot trif.. it's easy to be a lightweight
no 5 / 12
I don't drink a lot.
riom
sorry
My uncle told me about his poor tolerance of alcohol right at the time of the tail hook scandal; & he was a retired Navy Commander that had flown & taught jet pilots. I asked how he'd made it through those tail Hook parties.
thank you ru. got it
I don't drink a lot either.. although I'm around alcohol every day all day
He said he learned to carry around the same glass with a drink in it all night; because if people saw you with a glass in your hand, they wouldn't offer you another.
that bottom c is evading me; could I have the stats please?
then you'd be called a lush.. party attendee: look at that lush NEF.. she's always got a drink in her hand
ce5 part of the intestine
A good Manhattan depends on the quality of liquor you use and the balance of the sweet and dry vermouth. I don't like vermouth, so I don't do Manhattan's.
LOL, ru!
i like vermouth in small doses.. that's why i want to try different receipts
recipes
Thanks ru, I should have seen that sooner
i have to get the bitters just right too
If I have a drink in my hands now, ru; it's always water. To me, that tastes better than alcoholic drinks.
I'm more of a camel.. i don't drink a whole lot of water
party attendee: Look at that lush NEF.. she's always got a big glass of straight vodka in her hands :D
We drink lots of water here; DH likes to flavor it with those liquid drops they have now; I like it plain.
I don't care for this grid today; but I'm enjoying the chat! :-)
it's a little challenging this grid
Do you still try to finish as soon as the new grid is out, ru?
not any more
i do try to finish up in the a.m. nowadays. I've been conking out earlier of late
have you moved already?
moved to BC? no .. not yet
any date set yet?
gotta find a house first
Well, that makes sense! :-)
i have decided on the town though.. so I'm part way there
Which town?
qualicum
so incredibly beautiful there..
that is a good first step
now if just the right house would pop up
I guess that will depend on what you are looking for in a house, doesn't it? Are you very fussy?
I don't think so.. i am just looking for a small house with a deck with a view or a porch with a view of the ocean. .. I don't need a mansion any longer if that's what you mean
And a pool?
no pool
too cold for a pool up there
really? That surprises me!
i'll have a pool here in napa.. i can use
OH! So you aren't giving up the Napa house! Then that makes more sense
yep.. going to have two homes..
That might be more fun then
(except for the cleaning part)
i hope so.. i really want to be up there to explore more of the island
ruru, it sounds like a lovely plan!
Hey kids.
hi scrabs
scrabbler! how delightful!
yeah trif.. i am feeling pretty good about the whole thing
I hope someday to travel there; my nephew lives in BC (--which I know is huge); and the pictures I've seen there just make me want to see it for myself
Hi Scrabs
Exciting plan for you, Ruru. Hi Trif and Nef
it is a really gorgeous place nef.. it is incredibly beautiful
anything.....new scrabbler?
How's things going for you scrubs? lots of snow for snowshoeing this year?
And ru, someday I shall get there.
I just googled the town, ruru, it's GORGEOUS
:D
told ya so
I did the same thing; and it sounds like it's small enough to get to know others too
I've never been so at peace in my life than sitting there staring at the ocean
So, is it even better than the ocean you would see in CA?
Yes
And can you explain why (remember, MN doesn't have oceans here; so I'm really curious now)
the ocean is calmer on the eastern part of the island.
California's beaches have been built up and are more highly trafficked
you can go on the beaches there and be the only one on the beach for hours and hours
:-) that sounds lovely!
i have a technical question, but I am not sure how to ask....
i had to update to Microsoft edge as a browser. It doesn't seem to work well with lickety - has anyone else experienced this?
it puts tons of extra spaces in when I try to bulk add the list from babble to lickety, so the list doesn't copy over.
Sorry, Trifio, I'm on a Mac
lucky you! wish I was....
entering each word makes the game a lot less fun
I can imagine!
i don't usually list, but I am 10 away from FW
with a Mac, I can't use Expert; but on the whole I don't mind.
i have never used expert.
Back. I am on call and was called.
me neither ;-)
No prize yet. Considering an X-ray tomorrow or Monday. *sigh*
Did you need to go in, Scrabs?
oh man, scrabbler....what a stressful thing
oh.. jeez.. you'd think a little bit would come out
The call was about a 5 yr old boy just started on Adderall (amphetamine) and being very "emotional"--crying a lot. I wanted to tell the mother my real opinion = WHY would you allow your 5 yr old boy to be placed on amphetamines and WHO prescribed a medication instead of working on behavioral intervention.
I call my hubby's 99 yr old aunt every Saturday at 11 AM; she told me she sprained her ankle last evening at suppertime; but doesn't want to see anyone until Monday "because she doesn't want to bother the doctor" over the weekend!
But young people have NO hesitation to call us for ANY little issue, i.e. Can I give my child Tylenol? What is the dose of Tylenol? Should Junior go to day care/school tomorrow? Can I send you a photo of Junior's BM?
And it's a weekend; and he's 5??? (Both of my kids are ADHD; we never gave them meds unless they were in school; they had med vacations if they weren't in school)
Oh, My, Scrabs. It sounds like parenting classes are inorder there!
He just turned 5 in November and my bet is that he is struggling in kindergarten, as is expected for boys, and, instead of normalizing the behaviors and allowing him to mature and develop for a few years, the mother felt compelled to medicate her son. It is so sad.
That is sad.
hi all. need clue for the N word and G word please. ty
i'm not anti-med for real adhd kinds or problems, but i'm having trouble imagining adderall for any five year old (much less being surprised that it would cause emotional side effects!). dang.
wow, scrabbler, that is young....I tend to see things from further on - teens that cannot control themselves AT ALL, and clearly need some sort of intervention, because they are experiencing social isolation due to their impulsiveness
N word... not me! in french. kind of.
my kids also have add and werent medicated until 2nd or 3rd grade at leasrt.
It is the norm now, Nef, and I refuse to participate in the epidemic of medicating children for age-appropriate behaviors.
I hope she had him thoroughly tested and not just put on Adderall because she (or the teacher) wanted him to sit still
adderall is NOT a good drug. better ritalan which is tried and true for so many years. adderall has too many side effects.
Thorough testing is no longer done, not even by psychologists or psychiatrists. Kids are diagnosed with ADHD so readily and medication is always recommended. There is no one I trust that I can refer kids to anymore. There are SO many reasons for impulsivity, inattention, and hyperactivity, mainly, being a child.
dont know french. any other clues for N word and the stat please?
scrabbler i totally agree with you.
bad stuff today
When a child has a diagnosis of ADHD I don't even know what that means anymore. It is THE default diagnosis for any child with behavior and/or school problems.
I agree with you too, Scrabs. When the teachers first suggested that my son was hyperactive; she wanted the school psychologist to evaluate him; I actually took him to a special childhood behavioral testing center & paid out of pocket for the testing.
bad stuff. this nation of ours is crazy with our lack of good shrinks for kids. kids shrinks should be 100% covered by insurance so that we get them straightened out then and crime would go down as would violence.......
we paid thousands for testing and it was worth it.
Nobody does a thorough evaluation anymore: nutrition, sleep, depression, anxiety, learning disability, family problems, discipline at home, videogames/screen time at home, etc...
mkg, no5/12
ty. any meaning?
Would you believe it? My hubby was just diagnosed 2 years ago as being ADHD. I knew it probably as soon as I knew that our kids were both diagnosed.
i am sure i have it and my husband probably too
I think all adults in contemporary society are inattentive and easily distracted. We live in a multi-tasking, rapid-paced, sleep-deprived society.
no definition given; no + the first 3 letter of a wet cake
looking. ty
oh HELL no - I am calling full BS on the co 5.18. Absolutely NO self-respecting new Englander would spell that word that way!
I believe my grandson is ADHD also; but my son refuses to have him tested and "drugged" (as he puts it). At this time; he is doing well in school; so I'm not pushing it; but the distractability is really difficult to deal with here at home
nomou is not a word according to grid....hmmm.
If he is doing well academically then he is not impaired.
Change the last vowel.
(change the last vowel that you put in, mkg
You should see him bouncing off the walls here, Scrabbs. His teachers say he doesn't sit still in school either; but he's so pleasant (there!) that they don't try to make him stay in his seat.
Boys, and even girls, are not supposed to sit still all day. Even an adult's attention span is 5-7 minutes. We all need to move and take a break every 7 minutes.
I liked it when girls sat on my lap at school :D
I still need 43 words and see nothing.
3 left here.....slog
True. Our grandson is 8 years old; he just earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do last month. We've been trying to channel his excess energy that way.
And, with time and education, kids can learn self-control and self-discipline. Good for your 8 yr old grandson!
I have 16 left here; and I think I need a short break soon. (The home made chili is really smelling good too!) ;-)
well i cant get that no 5 word. i give up. how about the G word? ty
no + me in French--what Miss Piggy always says
And I passed halfway so I am done. I am not going to search for any more words in this grid. See you tomorrow.
mkg go4/6 A mob enforcer might be called this.
good night scrabbler.
Good night Scrabbs. I hope you can sleep tonight (& no more calls!)
keep on drillin' and chillin' scrabs
I'm taking a break. BBL!
FW!
wtg trif.
Can I have a clue for the mu5?
who posted that this site was hacked?
FW. Good night all.
any clues for the G word? i am so so stumped. cant even get half way.
nm finally got it. ugh.
would love clue for N word please.
nm got that too. ouch. finally getting them.
still 7 to go for half way. ty
any clues for bottom row C word?
Scrabbler -- I did VERY well in school, but it was a struggle. I was diagnosed in my mid-thirties. Poor academic performance is not a requirement of ADHD. Many of us cultivated strategies and coping mechanisms, but that doesn't mean we were not "impaired".
i was always daydreaming in school and would get As and Bs but that was due to good i.q. i was considered an underachiever.
homon
Derp!
all my kids have finished college and done very nicely for themselves. and they have great jobs and careers.
all but one of the kids has a masters degree and some have several. one son has 4 degrees. he is VP of a large company, is a successful attorney.
ADD is not a bad diagnosis as long as the right steps are taken to deal with it. my kids managed their own meds always.
the biggest issue was to fight the schools who want to control the meds.
what worked best was ritalin LA taken before school. lasted through school and enjoy into evening for homework.
any clues out there for the Bottom row C? or for the 3rd column M? or the fifth column E?? pretty please?
I wish I were diagnosed and treated younger. I was a high-IQ over-achiever, but I burned out in the honors program at university. I just couldn't hold it all together anymore.
Anyway -- Babble on, Babblers!
please please some clues? ty
