I'm watching two sweeeeet little chickadees take turns at the feeder I spoke of yesterday - I am in love with them!
I love watching the birds out my windows.
they are just so intent on their purpose.....
They need fuel, especially when it is cold out there.
Purple finches were hanging at a tree by my front window. The reason why: they were building a nest on the front steps light. Had to get rid of it
tertiare gave me this feeder for Christmas -- its acrylic and suctions on to my window, so the birds are just a foot away - it's so cool
Every spring/summer I have a pair of dark-eyed juncos nesting in a nest above a back deck light. The nest was first made years ago by robins.

I go outside with a red solo cup on feed and tip it in.

I see crows chase away hawks in the sky.
I love their song(s). There is one around here that sings 24/7 this time of year.
I have one family of cat birds and I just love them. I'm such a bird nerd....I just love them

Yesterday I got my ladder out and refilled the 8 feeders out front. The chickadees were flying around my head and I told them to be patient.
Wild turkeys have moved into my neighborhood. So strange.

Once my sister Leslie and I were hiking in the woods and scared a large bird. My sister said, "There is a big goose." I told her that it was the elusive forest goose otherwise known as a wild turkey.
wonderful! . . . fyi last year I had NONE but this year we've had monsoons and cool temps and they're budding - yay!
in Old Wethersfield, CT there is a wild turkey who lives in town...his name is Kevin...

mr hate grew up in Dublin, and had almost no knowledge of wildlife, unless "cider drinking youths" counts.....anyway...the first time he saw a wild turkey he asked me if it was a pheasant.

I make a marinade of ginger ale, mustard, honey, a dash of ground cloves, pineapple juice, honey and brown sugar. It gives the ham a nice flavor.

I am not into lamb at all. We are having ham and barbecued chicken, asparagus and baby carrots, scalloped potatoes and homemade yeast rolls. Bunny cheesecake for dessert.
