pretty good here, just physically hurting and pooped but otherwise feeling good and chipper.
We are still exhausted - the surgery was Monday, and went perfectly, according to the doctor. My sweetie is feeling really good, and was even out with me shopping, and visiting with the neighbor today.
that is such good news, Kam! You both will need quite some time to shake the exhaustion, no doubt, but as long as it all goes well... woooooooot!
it seems to me a very good sign that he feels up to visiting with the neighbour!
We're both feeling really positive about the eventual outcome - next Monday is the second part when they install the battery pack/controller. Then he heals for 3-6 weeks and then they *finally* program the thing. The "test fire" during surgery completely stopped his tremors, and he said it felt amazing. He was awake during most of the procedure so the surgeon could get his feedback. All looks good so far.

kam, tomorrow i go in for a three day infusion of pain remedy. also pain doc is going to denervate 6 nerves in my lower back

Oh, Rose, I hope it works well for you. I wish the US hadn't gone so overboard on stopping pain treatments. But 6 nerves at once??? That does sound very serious.
yeah, but the last time i had it done, i got up to go the the loo a few hours later. and i'm sitting there, thinking...what's different? of course it was the lack of back pain.

Infusions are one thing, the denervation is what sounds scary to me. But I don't know the details, either.
well, for starters kam, i am unconscious... lolll. it involves inserting a fine needle into the nerve, and sending a small amount of electricity down the needle which kills the nerve. lasts 9-12 months.

I seem to remember you have quite a bit of pain for a little while after the denervation, rose. That it took a little while to get the full result?
I'll have to look into the procedure, I don't see how killing a nerve can only stop pain for 9-12 months. I do know a couple of men who had a single denervation done on their lower backs, and they swore it was a miracle.

kam, i could come home that night, but i am having a 3 day infusion.
roflolll. don has the TENS on his lower back for his pain. when it turns off after 15 minutes he turns it back on, and each time he goes over the level he needs. there have been some very interesting noises coming from his area of the room.
roflolollllll tell him to quit playing around and be a good boy ;)
At least he'll use the TENS! My hubby says his back hurts, but insists he's ok. OK, then...you're ok, but I still worry, lol!
