I just barely got here, hope I'm in time to say "Niters, Kate!"
Hi Kam - how did it all go?
It went wonderfully!! We go back every 2 weeks for...until he gets his meds tapered as much as possible. Has to go slow to get off the meds, which was a disappointment, but he's feeling great!
I will sleep.. yawning lioke crazy.. hace to go before i catch a second wind. Niters Kam <3
That's great news. Really happy it's gone so well.
ty flosey <3
poof
Kam, I am out of the loop. what did you hubs have done?
Sleep NOW, Kate, lol! If you're like me, you'll be up for hours if you don't stop asap
gi6 - French cigarette. Not a word.
Kamanjah ... a great start, better stuff to come. God bless
Peri, he had DBS (deep brain stimulation) surgery for Parkinson's. Today they FINALLY turned on his controller. On low. He can increase .1 volts from 1 volt to 2 volts over the next 2 weeks.
that sounds really good, Kam.
He said it's a miracle he never thought would happen!
Great to know that he got his miracle.
It's just amazing to see him sitting there watching TV and being STILL. I'm so happy for him!
going to try to get some sleep
nite all
Sleep well Peri
Good sleep, Peri!
Clues are up
Thanks, Lickety
thanks Lickety
thanks Lickety
I just refreshed the clues and lickety is the same from Friday, anyone else check
Just checked - mine match this grid.
weird, will go out and redo the whole thing
Good luck
Use the F5 button to refresh.
I did refresh but that did not work. shut the comp down completely and rebooted and now everything is ok. weird, never happened to me before
Good that it's sorted - however it was managed :)
dagid
Hm - won't accept tagine. Does that mean I can't order one for dinner tonight?
well, you certainly made me look it up, haha!
good morning all. I think it is tahine (sp).
no, it's there - also spelled tajine. A stew of sorts... the details have already escaped me. :)
hiya rbud :)
hello, sprite - what's new?
nothing much, today, same old same old. How about you?
was peacefully napping, woke up just in time for flip, so here I am.
slow going tonight better go to bed and try with fresh mind in the morning, good night all and happy babbling
sweet dreams, dear lady, and sleep well
night, flosey
nothing like a good nap
it's a funny grid, a lot of almost there words, haha - almost endings, barely used de's and un's and en's for beginnings... I keep jarring to a halt with almost something or other.
ah, good to know it is not just me then
at least I found the infamous needlecase and fondly smiled... but only almost for the good old volcano, alas.
lol
I keep seeing adapt
I am over halfway, with 2x6 and nothing bigger! Time to hu4 for some biggies, methinks.
well, that 8 is a doozy, and a stand-alone! Have never seen it before - only have it because I sneaked a peek (shame on me!) when Nancy had her refresh problem and then hit morewords.
no shame there. Just research :D
I did already have the two 9's from the chat hints, but I know you avoid those early on.
yes, I still enjoy trying to find them on my own, even though I am notoriously biggieblind.
found one!
good on ya! :D
*grins*
This one is most perplexing. Other so easy. I actually have to use my brain
hello ladyluck
cooee {{sprite}} {{rbud}} {{kam}} pooped here but otherwise pretty good.
*hugs rose* Hello darling, time to rest up then
Tage
no luck with that one ladyluck... loll
Hello sprite
At this point im just trying to pass time
Hiya Rose, and Sprite, and rbud and everyone I haven't said HI to yet...I''m pooped, long day, great day!
*hugs Kam* Hi there :)
did it go well, Kam?
sprite, step-daughter rang last night and gaily informed us she was coming over to spend a few days with us. as the spare/guest bedroom is also my ironing/mending room guess what i have been doing all afternoon? plus all the washing of towels etc from change linen day.
rose... don't you know that "No thank you" is also a very good answer?
i read Kam. i am so pleased with the results. xoxox for BOTH of you.
Very well, Sprite. It will be a process of adjustment over many weeks...he has to taper his meds to not shock his system
am so glad it went so well!
lolll..... yeah i know. but HE can't say no to any of his kids. *sigh* anyway, i've tod him he has to clean up the kitchen, including the floor. AND he can wrap the gifts ready for the 3 birthdays. so there!!!
good for you, darling.
Thanks, Rose. Everyone's support is much appreciated! He saw Kate's enthusiasm on FB today and asked me who is this Kate person, lol! I told him on the way up today that he had friends the world over wishing him well
he does, and so do you
i am thinking it is time he learnt just how hard it is to clean in a hurry, and clean well in the process.
indeed. He sure does, rose, and you are the only one who can teach him at this stage
hello all - Kam add a supporter from South Africa - husband has Parkinsons - so far controlled well by meds but followed your story with a warm heart :)
fireflies. Last words the cu7, en8 and op7 biggies
so i am sitting here, chatting after playing an excellent babble grid even if it does have some weird ones i have never even heard of in it.
WTG SPRITE!!!
time to go... *hugs* for you all and one extra for rose. Have a great day/night all
xoxox darling friend. i hope your day is perfect.
Aw. thanks so much Ursh! Hubby now wishes he hadn't waited so long. He kept saying no to the DBS until PD started on his left side too, then once he decided to look into having it done, it took over a year to get the referrals and testing.
Have a great day Sprite!
Sending strength to you and your hubs, Ursh. It's a tough journey when the meds stop working as well as they did "a few months ago."
kam, the important thing is he stuck it out, and now you are both reaping the rewards. xox
not to diminish your support for him at all. you both wouldn't have achieved this without the support and encouragement from each other.
And it seems a relentless schedule of me having to try to reschedule my internal clock every couple of weeks for up to six months to get him to appointments. But it is looking good, he had it done in time
Hells bells, I practically shoved him into the program. Well, pushed, shoved, called, nagged a bit...
rofloll, just a bit ??
He didn't want to cut his hair
LOLOL!!
*rolls eyes* excuse me ?!?
If you look at Native American lore, cutting your hair is to lose your strength. Therefore, losing his hair was hard. I'll email you the photo of what I had to cut off the night before the first surgery.
It is still saved with the sage
ahhh, now i understand. poor man.
I'm glad you understand now.
I had to cut off my dear departed Hubs' hair once - he got thumped on the head by a dead tree while riding his motorcycle in a windstorm. Cracked vertibrae, had to wear a halo brace for 3 months. When they told him he'd have to wear it, the nurses were ready to shave his head, all those pretty, dark blond long curls... I told them no, stand back, give me the scissors and shaver. He wound up with it still long in the back and a sort of wide mohawk - I saved all I could that would still let them do what had to be done. It was hard.
there was also the issue of the near scalping around the top back - they *did* have to shave some there.
we called that accident "near death story number 272" or some other random high number... he had lots and lots of near death stories. Was a lucky man to live as long as he did...
I hear ya, rbud...stand back when it comes to that man's hair! Rose saw the photo - a ceremonial braid with sage. I just saved what we could the night before he had to have the rest shaved off. He looks funny to me now, his hair is an inch long all over, and needs some shaping. He hasn't decided what to do...I'm hearing Mohawk and Roach...and just wanting to keep it shaped up as it grows back. Lordy, that must have been awful
And sorry he's not with you now, except in spirit.
At least I didn't get with my hubby until his biker days were history. I probably would have had a heart attack long ago...the stories he tells are more than enough!
Kam - I don't usually enter into the chat (all I can do to find words!), but thought I'd let you know that I had the DBS surgery 6.5 years ago - it worked great and continues to do so. As for the hair issue, it's a good time to sport a cool hat or two!
yeah, even after spending 30 years plus with him, there were still the 27 years before that with stories that were unbelievable.
once he hit a horse on a Norton bike - the horse eventually died... not him!
have to move along. xoxox {{kam}} {{kam's hubby}} {{rbud}} hope to see you all after next flip.
Take care, Rose. *Hugs*
s'long, rose ((( hugs)))
Whew, rbud. You must have nerves of steel
one day he and a buddy were standing around a poster of a skeleton he had on the shop door, swapping broken bone stories... finally agreed it would be easier to list the unbroken ones.
Quicker, for sure. You must have many "brothers" watching after you.
I just always did what had to be done to help mop up afterwards and hoped for the best. what else can ya do, you know?
Exactly.
he was the fighter, I was just along to help. Ten years before I met him he cracked three backbones in a car wreck, they said he might never walk again then. He just plain wouldn't give up, and did it anyway.
there are a few special friends who do still check up on me and help some when needed, but those poor guys are all getting old, too, lol.
then of course a bunch just poofed when the long party came to a halt when he got so ill. so it goes.
Hear ya about them all getting old...I think we only have one friend who still even has a bike. He says he can ride for about 10 minutes before his back starts screaming 'stop!'
I'm sorry for what you've been thru, can't imagine losing hubs right now...we've been thru a lot with this brain surgery, and he's getting better. Sorry friends flaked, happens. And it makes me sad.
so glad for you two, it's so good to hear. ♥
at least the old boys are good with advice, especially with house and car problems, haha. My go-to guy for truck repair problems has some sort of defibrillating implant now. Wow.
at least the old boys are good with advice, especially with house and car problems, haha. My go-to guy for truck repair problems has some sort of defibrillating implant now. Wow.
It's scary watching everyone get old. But time marches on...and on...
I've been pretty lucky so far myself, no major anything needed yet, no broken bones to speak of (maybe a little toe, lol). No major surgeries, no pills, knock on wood.
just a lucky but kinda lazy old lady.
Glad you've been blessed that way. I've had some issues, but I hang in as best I can. I didn't used to drive much - until I had to be hub's driver for all of these adventures we've had recently. He did buy me a new car though! I really needed one, it has helped me like to drive again!
oh, how nice for you! I do I wish I could get something running, both our trucks are down at the moment. Trying to decide which one to sink the cash into, lol. But really, I'm fairly content not going much of anywhere, I've always been like that. And yet I ended up being the family taxi service most of the time. Kind of nice to not have to now. I send out cash and a list, and just take it easy.
but when I do want to go, and can't, it's frustrating.
just good that my little job is only a block away, that's for sure. Reminds me, I want to bug our son about my bicycle again, haha.
I hear ya on that. I had a '96 Honda, the AC compressor died in spring of 2016. I live where summers are triple digits most days. I finally got my new car in Oct 2016. At least the Honda still ran, but, whew! Too hot. Hope you get some wheels in order soon. I'm over 7 miles from "town," so a bicycle wouldn't get me to a store. Too many hills in the way.
That's about how far it is to a real town from here, too. This town's only about pop. 325, only a post office, my library, and one little bar that peddles a few useful groceries. That's all the bike would be good for, really. But there is a bike trail along a canal just down the road, kind of pleasant.
It's 35 miles at least to a "real" town, but at least there's a grocery and pharmacy, both terribly overpriced! But when you're the only show in town...
stuck at 98, been trying to hit 100 before I either list or give up, lol.
I need to sleep, long, long day! 23 left...manana!
been nice chatting with you, sleep well, g'night. :)
nice chatting with you too! Take care :)
Bonour!
or even Bonjour
hiya, ruby! still stuck at 99, haha. how goes it with you?
Hi rbud
so far 68 hard-earned words
The weather here is perfect! 50 or so at night, 65-70 in the morning, gradually warming to 80-85.
It's my reward for living through the cold, cruel, endless winter
I am determined to hit 100 without the list, so am just monkeying along.
l'd be happy with half aand nbt, but even that is unlikely
oh, that *is* perfect. Been nice here the last couple of days, too, after some really hot ones. Just enjoying it before it goes back up to ridiculous levels again, I'm sure it's due soon.
that's usually more or less my happy point, too, halfway, nbt, nbs. But I ended up in the '80s so I kept on.
l'm less motivated than before.
They've been changing my meds and stillhaven't settled on a regime.
not quite feeling yourself isn't pleasant.
So every day is a small adventure inpain or discomfort or justmanaging
Fortunately, 5 days a week l have a lot of help. lt's the weekends that are tough
agita
aha! 100! yay.
Yay for you! Have a lovely day!
Thanks! I recommend not wracking your brain over the en8, I would never have gotten it without morewords. The two 9's at least have 7's and end with the past tense and aren't as odd.
ou7 and ou9, then ca7 and ca9.
(((hugs))) and off I go.

Heyas, kiddos.
Hi Judi
*sigh* Waiting for slowpoke hubby to take a shower. Have a day trip planned and time ticks away.
As usual, he moves at the speed of snail.
Is he out of bed?
lol. Yes, Jen. At least he's gotten that far.
How long have you guys been married?
33 years.
Yep, sounds like my mom and dad! They were married for 55 years!
What you should do is tell way earlier than the event and then he will be on time!
Looks like he's about 85% ready. I'll make my way downstairs. See y'all tomorrow.
bye
down to 100!
da5/12 pls
2Bit plus two vowels
ty Molly
I read that as Dan with two bowels
I try not to think about anyone's bowels. That is why I don't read the overnight chat. : P
it's good that the chat at night isn't so gastrictive
Although it can be moving, at times
we're usually flush with players at that time too
Yes, but some are too wiped out to participate
that would be Charmin though
I surely wouldn't have any tissues with lurking then
Different players, different styles. Some bidet, some by night.
some are di-urinal players
I would have to do a scatological study to see if that is correct.
timewise.. would that put you in arrears?
Defecately
boo for that pi7 - but firewords!
a
hi all
hi jmc
hello all!
what is this fiber clue for the 1st CA 6/24? I tried google but not getting it...
unless that was for the feline stomach clue...
then I need a clue for the 1st CA 6/24
en 8 pls?
wish i had it......so sorry.
I'll give it a try: en + anagram of a walking stick + two vowel ending
ty for the 8 origami
i tried 8s, 7s and 6s and got nothing from the en + walking stick and then two vowels........hmmm
nbt! and halfway!
yeah harry!
but I have no 7s or 9s :)
YW harry
ooh just got a 7!
ca7 and ca9 (past tense) the guy that goes down with his ship?
nbs :) ty rbud
ty rbud. got both.
still dont have the 8. en.........
clues welcome
also have alot of tiles with 0.
would love clues for the E s or T in bottom row. ty.
mkg - add the first two letters of the ship guy, and then disease suffix
yeah, like the ending of schizophr****
ahh good rbud - I couldn't think of an example
the ship guy? ca? what word are you cluing? ty.
I'm cluing the en8 which you'd requested
oh ok. looking
so en and then the ship head first two letters? dont see the c next to the n........
start with the en down low
bouge should be a word.
just dont getting it.
There is definitely a c next to an n
en then the word for walking stick. then i am lost....
Hiya rose - how are you doing?
both en's are in the en8, actually.
anagram for the walking stick, mkg
hi all, jumping in (splorsh)
oh, not too bad. hiding in my cave staying cool.
Yep, see my clue at 8:53
hi gwen
got it. ty ty ty. whew......i must be slow tonight.
Yep, hot here also rbud - 103 today. Course it is dry.
still need words for bottom row E on left corner and T please. ty.
it's a hard one, that en8. never saw it before.

ty for au4 :)
ty got it. whew. ty ty ty
i only have one 7. yikes. it is the head of the ships crew. would love one or two more clues and stats.
the words in this one are mostly so weird that even the easy ones befuddle me, I just now got that au4 myself, and I'm at 113!
yeah - the list is not a great help on this grid.
cu 7 - wedge shaped
de 7 - having to do with teeth
ty
ou 7 - get more than others
ty knight, got it!
op 7 - prickly pear cactus
halfway done woot
yes, that goes with ga4 and ga6, when you put on somr pounds - add the past tense to the ou7 for the other ou9
pa 7 - past tense of pa6
*some* pounds, oops
pa 7 - latin plural of pa 6
ty ty ty. wow. ty.
getting many of these. ty
pi 7 - sound of barefeet walking
ta 7 - latin plural of ta 6
wa 7 - wa4 plus how old you are
wa 7 - not sure how to clue it - wa + the bad guy in walking dead?
weird un7 and wa7, both end with how old you are... made me think of Pauly Shore, who adds "how old you are" to so many words... :P
hope that helps
ty for that un7
ty ty ty. got many. ty
got the walking dead clue, excellent 8 - D
someone also clued the other wa7 last night as ending with half a male goose
28 left. I've had neough for now - perhaps finish up later.
three ca6's to do with felines, - when they take a short little sleep, the herb they love, and when their innards are used for violin strings... poor kitties...
