Are there cheeseburgers...in paradise? : D

5:28 am

Oh happy day!

5:31 am

Is that Champ, strapping in for a big grid kind of day?

5:33 am

Yes! I'm so happy that I'll actually have the time to pick at it today. Made me smile!

5:34 am

With the heat being what it is, most will gladly stay indoors and do such things than go outside and wilt.

5:34 am

Of course it's all fun and games till you get down to the last 50 or so. I remain hopeful, for now!

5:36 am

We're going to see Chicago and REO Speedwagon tonight. Gonna be a lot of gray hair at this one!

5:37 am

Ah, Chicago and The Beach Boys was one of my first concerts. Have fun.

is there a list in anyone's profile? I'm getting an error message when I try to access Lickety's list...... thanks!

7:47 am

Are you using the link at the bottom of the grid for Lickety's list. It is coming up okay for me. Maybe try another browser.

7:48 am

hi Molly, yes the link at the bottom of the page - i'll try another browser, let's see

7:49 am

no, same result - that's weird

7:49 am

I would try the usual suspects. Shut down, and come back up. Clear cache and cookies. Something is in your way.

jbv! it's been a long time. hope you are well.

7:50 am

hi TO! -- unfortunately, I have no idea about cache or cookies - my computer was restarted yesterday so that may have something to do with it

7:50 am

all well here, TO , how's by you?

7:51 am

if you have the list open, can you copy and paste the url here - maybe that will work

all is well.

7:52 am

What error message are you getting?

7:52 am

And if you are using a MAC it could be other issues that I know nothing about.

7:52 am

nope, Lickety is not working for me today - This site can’t be reached r46.me’s server IP address could not be found. Search Google for r46 me Babble Clues ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

8:54 am

I live with two teenagers, a husband, and a cat. I wish they all cared just a little more!

8:55 am

which re does the 7 come from?

8:57 am

shirl what does your cat do if you don't feed her on time if it hasn't happened?

8:58 am

whines and whines and whines .....

8:58 am

like i'm starving her or something

8:58 am

lol our cat was just in the kitchen with hubby she wanted to be petted

8:58 am

leas

8:59 am

oops

8:59 am

and she was also meowing

8:59 am

My cat is starving to death ALL THE TIME to hear her tell it.

8:59 am

shirl yes they do that don't they?:)

8:59 am

I miss my cat. Hoping to get another one soon.

8:59 am

yeah, right? i get close to the fridge and she's RIGHT there

8:59 am

LOL Shirl

9:00 am

what do you folks feed your cats, dry or wet food?

9:00 am

shirl when my husband isntin the kitchen i have problems like that with my cat too both with the fridge and a door where we keep human snacks. she is so curious i guess lol

9:01 am

peri my cat eats mostly dry but will meow her head off until we feed her the soft food

9:02 am

ditto on the wet food

9:02 am

vicuna just something about being in a kitchen and a cat wanting food or just attention you just never know:)

9:02 am

Ours just gets dry, plus occasional treats.

9:03 am

my husband stopped giving her the wet food since she was eating the dry more often but had to give her the soft again as she kept begging for it

9:03 am

your cat and mine must be related vicuna

9:04 am

i think all cats tho i noticed an aversion to "beef" for the wet food for mine

9:04 am

i couldn't believe it

9:04 am

she actually won't eat the wet food if there's beef

9:05 am

our cat doesn't eat seafood cat food

9:05 am

Who knows, it's always possible, Natasha! Ours has to get her food on a timer because otherwise she's gobble it ALL, unlike other cats who just eat a little at a time. Hmm, I don't think ours has ever encounters wet food with beef, Shirl, so I can't give you any data to add to your study.

9:06 am

our cat likes beef cat food

9:06 am

i have had 3 cats and this is the only one who has been picky about her wet food

9:08 am

i can talk cats all day but i better head out to pick up some food before it gets too hot

9:08 am

9:35 am

Hello, all.

9:36 am

I have a vascular range for punning in all subjects

9:37 am

The heart of the matter is, you're just pulsing with fun, ruru.

9:39 am

it just goes to show you can't plasma everyone

9:39 am

You're a veritable hemo-goblin.

9:40 am

9:43 am

Thanks vi

9:43 am

not really - hate all the sand

9:43 am

oh

9:43 am

well.. beaches normally come with that I suppose

9:43 am

how are you on water?

9:43 am

Thank goodness for ceiling fans

9:44 am

pete has mentioned walking there today - a hike down the coast - only place to stay cool

9:44 am

We got everything that needed to be done, done before 10. Except the pool.

9:44 am

are you asking if I swim?

9:44 am

when is says heat index that includes the humidity molly?

9:44 am

I like water sports... but the beaches here are often windy and sand gets in everything

9:45 am

Yes, it factors the humidity and gives you a "feels like" range.

9:45 am

august and sept and October the beaches aren't windy

9:45 am

oh.. I hate humidity

9:46 am

ex 6/33, first one, pls

9:46 am

When I lived on the central coast, September & October were the warmest months - just lovely

9:46 am

when was that ori?

9:46 am

still true origami - love september here

9:47 am

September is the best here

9:47 am

I lived in Santa Cruz county from 1980 through 1987

9:47 am

kje have you tried Nightbird in hayes valley

9:48 am

not yet - it is on the list

9:48 am

have you been yet?

9:48 am

I'm going soon

9:48 am

an old friend from college looked me up and we're going there

9:48 am

Son was at UCSC. What heaven

9:49 am

santa cruz is a shithole now though

9:49 am

The campus or the town?

9:49 am

the banana slugs!

9:49 am

I was in felton most of the time - then in Soquel

9:49 am

I don't know if it's the first, but I have ex6/33 - to get money by threatening someone

9:50 am

ty Vicuna, but that's the second on

9:51 am

Hmmm, looking...

9:51 am

That mascot cracks me up kje

9:53 am

my sister and nephews have an ongoing xmas tradition where they send me OTT texas xmas ornaments and I send them CA ones. In general, it is hard to top that TX gaudiness, but for next year, I have a banana slug ornament - truly heinous

9:54 am

there has to be something in the Castro that will send them off the deep end kj :D

9:55 am

well... have to be mindful of the kids, ru. We have found some pretty bad ones though

9:55 am

I found the ex 6/36

9:56 am

I think It is good for children in texas to be exposed to the world :D

9:57 am

10:02 am

Well, it's before my other ex6/33, at least. Thanks, ru!

10:02 am

ruru's is not the first one, but I don't understand kje's

10:02 am

hey there vicuna!

10:03 am

Hello, hursh!

10:03 am

ruru's is the first 3x 6/33

10:03 am

Hurshy, you are a Little House fan. What did you think about Wilder's name being taken off of the literary award?

10:03 am

opp of insert

10:03 am

Yep, Ru's clue was for the first

10:04 am

the second ex 633 is to harshly take money from someone

10:04 am

my clue is for the first one bichon.. time for coffee for you

10:05 am

i do not think it is good, Molly.

10:06 am

I don't either Hursh. Her books reflect the times she was writing about. It is sad that people are so sensitive these days.

10:06 am

are you sure it is a 6/33 you are looking for? there are earlier 6's, but that is the first 6/33

10:06 am

but not just that they reflect the times, i think people must have read them wrong

10:06 am

the l's are killing me

10:07 am

Sometimes we will go to the movie at the university in our town. Old movies often have hegemonal words and the booing begins

10:07 am

just started Ls

10:07 am

i wrote about it on a friend's post... let me paste

10:08 am

it was always instinctively clear to me that Pa's attitudes were better than Ma's - i'd argue that the evidence for this was right there, in the books themselves. the scene where they visit a deserted Indian campground, I feel like there's a sense of them relating to the Indians who had camped there on a very basic, human level, for instance. feeling like - they have some things they do differently, but they can't be that different from us fundamentally. and the wisdom of the man who warned them about the Long Winter struck me very deeply. the books overall left me with the impression that, as with any group, Indians were not all the same - there were peaceful people and there were violent people, but that on balance, they had some impressive knowledge and wisdom that the white society lacked, and they were treated very badly. in retrospect, do I wish Pa would have become a radical activist who took on the government's constant broken promises and forced migrations? sure. but then, i got an iPhone, and i already supposedly believe in human rights for all, and i already knew that factories in China that supply us with them have violated such rights.

10:09 am

Hurshy, that's an eloquent analysis!

10:09 am

Beautifully put, Hursh!

10:12 am

but, i mean, there's so much going on that is so much worse right now, that her name getting taken off a book award kind of pales in comparison.

10:13 am

*slides into the conversation*

10:13 am

hello, zabeth

10:14 am

hi hursh

10:15 am

i read the little house on the prairie books growing up too, and i don't remember any racism at all...and i just read an article with some examples of words and phrases used. like "there were no people on the prairie, only Indians"

10:16 am

well, ma was clearly quite racist

10:16 am

Always have to put things in the context of time

10:17 am

and that says to me as a kid i just kind of accepted that content without questioning it. i wasn't smart enough to notice it and examine it.

10:18 am

my Mom was very racist. Glad I didn't have that handed down

10:19 am

:(

10:21 am

du 7-8 please?

10:24 am

two + sounds

10:24 am

ty bichon

10:26 am

Wilder's books stand on their own merit. She was a great contributor to children's literature and I think it is unfortunate that her name is being taken off the award.

10:26 am

anybody else remember that song back in the 80s... "every day around the world, they're coming to America"

10:27 am

Neil Diamond, from "The Jazz Singer"

10:28 am

what happened to that feeling?

10:28 am

9/11 happened

10:29 am

It isn't just September 11th. It is the fact that so many people come to this country and take advantage of what it has to offer without actually becoming a part of their communities.

10:30 am

so we thought, "hey, let's just destroy our ideals!"

10:31 am

stats for a U word pls

10:31 am

ud4/6

10:32 am

ty

10:32 am

yw

10:32 am

I that ex that was clued right after the ex 6/39?

10:34 am

is

10:36 am

if you want people to become part of your community, you have to offer acceptance freely - without a bunch of conditions attached

10:36 am

Is that true, Molly, or is that just what the propaganda tells us? My community is full of immigrants who are full and contributing members of the community in every way. My ancestors immigrated here, as did the ancestors of all the politicians and talking heads attacking immigrants. Yes, people are scared, but that can never justify mistreating other scared people.

10:38 am

I am not suggesting mistreating anyone. Nor do I have a problem with immigrants. My ancestors were immigrants as well.

10:38 am

Good! =)

10:38 am

I'm curious what you mean by "take advantage" Molly?

10:39 am

That's true in my neighborhood also Vicuna. Most of the people in my neighborhood are immigrants and they are very much part of the community.

10:39 am

As for "conditions", there are "conditions" attached to most things.

10:39 am

I'm a little confused how discussing Wilder (who's stories are about yesterday's immigrants) to disrespecting today's immigrants.

10:39 am

Yeah, me too Beth.

10:39 am

Whoops. How the discussion moved to...

10:39 am

it didn't, really, beth. i brought up the song "coming to america" because it's been on my mind, as a new comment

10:40 am

When I said take advantage I meant take advantage of opportunities such as education, loans and other programs that favor minorities.

10:41 am

I live in Texas where a good third of the population are Latino. We are all Texans.

10:41 am

my neighborhood is trees...easy to get along with. :)

10:41 am

yes but not be a part of our community, but you have to dress ike us, talk like us, have our beliefs and totally integrate into our society.

10:41 am

stats for the i?

10:41 am

that's going out on a limb there phaeton

10:41 am

howy from Texas Beth, are you also an Elizabeth?

10:41 am

lol, phaeton

10:41 am

: ) I get along very well with trees Phae.

10:41 am

Yes, I am.

10:42 am

Illegals are NOT IMMIGRANTS! 2004 estimated about 12 million illegals here. Today, they say between 25 to 30 MILLION are here. That is an INVASION.

10:42 am

io6/24

10:42 am

two Elizabeth's in Texas

10:42 am

At least that is the only danger...having a limb or tree fall on you. lol

10:42 am

ty Vicuna

10:42 am

oh brother.

10:43 am

ok Molly I want to follow this through so folks get an education, maybe even get a scholarship that is specifically for immigrants. What do you think they''ll do with that education?

10:43 am

That is a valid point. We have a record number of illegal residents in this country.

10:43 am

Zabeth. Where in Texas are you?

10:43 am

Dallas!

10:43 am

you know what was an invasion? an invasion was white people coming here and forcing natives off their land. an invasion was what we did to Mexico in the 1840s.

10:44 am

Yes, Hursh, it absolutely was. That doesn't negate the previous point though. Call it what you will.

10:44 am

anyone who is not a Native American has about zero right to complain that someone else is "invading" "our" land.

10:44 am

(phantom: sesame)

10:45 am

Clue for the io6, please?

10:46 am

there is one group of people in this country who have always been highly favored by its laws and policies, and who have, since the 70s, been able to continue tilting the economic and political playing field in their own direction, and that's the super-rich. if you're going to worry about people taking advantage, those are the people you should be talking about.

10:47 am

hear, hear hurshy

10:48 am

I think that is true of most industrialized nations

10:48 am

It does make a difference what you call it, though. If you call it an invasion of rapists it gets a different reaction from when you call it refugees seeking the the USA's freedom and opportunity.

10:48 am

*realizes she is probably confusing anyone who doesn't know that her flag does not correlate with her citizenship/residency status*

10:48 am

io6 has to do with red stuff you used to put on cuts. sorry hard to clue

10:48 am

Yes indeed. The super rich and the moderately rich have things tilted in their favor. No argument. Minorities have things tilted their way too. Ask anyone who has not gotten a job because a "quota" needed to be filled and they did not fit the criteria.

10:49 am

ty, phae :-)

10:50 am

yw Biltong

10:50 am

ur6?

10:50 am

Molly I'm still curious about your response--so if an immigrant gets an education, even gets a scholarship, what happens next, what do they do with the education?

10:51 am

UR + written words on a phone message to another.

10:51 am

and i'm a minority, i never felt that i got a job because a quota had to be filled, perhaps that's my naivete, but never happened

10:52 am

i don't know anyone who has not gotten a job because of a quota. i don't even know anyone who legit knows the reason why they did not get a job. companies don't go around telling you why they didn't hire you.

10:52 am

Molly I'm a little confused by that bit about racial minorities getting jobs because of quotas... the unemployment rate is still higher for black and latino folks than for white people in the US

10:52 am

ty zoom

10:52 am

I don't think minorities have it so great -- who would want to live a life where you are constantly being slighted because of the way you look, how you dress, the colour of your skin and suffer illness and death in your families because you can't afford medical care and aid doesn't kick in until it is too late and poorer education for your children because nobody cares about the schools in the neighbourhood you live in?

10:53 am

I did not get the clue for the ur6

10:53 am

nm ty zoom, new word for me

10:53 am

when you type a message on your phone and send it peri

10:53 am

that IS a weird word!

10:54 am

ty phae

10:56 am

woohoo, i have got 90% of the words!

10:56 am

broke 200 finally

10:56 am

WTG hursh

10:56 am

55 left here... trying to gray my Ts

10:56 am

oh i need 3 more Ts, but that's not bad since there are 78 of them

10:57 am

one more here... I can see the light!

10:57 am

10:58 am

foggy in sf KJ?

10:58 am

not a bit

11:00 am

the S's on the other hand, i miss 10 out of 88

11:00 am

I was going to go to the city today, but my friend got sick :-(

11:01 am

which city?

11:01 am

San Francisco

11:01 am

os 8 please?

11:02 am

re8 pls

11:02 am

ooooh

11:02 am

cnan sounds like bone diseases

11:02 am

os8 means forming bone... usually in places it shouldn't be

11:02 am

peri - lets go, as a captive

11:03 am

ty hurshy

11:03 am

figured it must have something to do with bones, but I'm still in the dark

11:03 am

st7 after the st8?

11:04 am

nm - found it - ty kje

11:04 am

i don't have an st8 but i have an st7

11:04 am

trade ya

11:05 am

ok i figured out what the 8 had to be and got it

11:05 am

st8 is narrowing... like the narrowing in a blood vessel

11:05 am

damn... does that invalidate the trade?

11:06 am

st7 i have never seen by itself in context. i only know it as an adjective with an -ous ending added. that would be an st10 if it were in the grid, and would mean noisy and labored (describing breathing)

11:07 am

ty

11:08 am

loos

11:08 am

time for food... bbl

11:08 am

there are so many good words in the world. it's lovely to think about sometimes. just last night i was thinking of the word "inexorable" and what a good and powerful adjective that is.

11:08 am

ex 6/33, first one, pls

11:08 am

hopefully i'm not the only one who sits around thinking of words in awe...

11:09 am

As Lord Peter Wimsey says, I find it so easy to get drunk on words that I'm seldom quite sober. =)

11:09 am

me too hurshy

11:09 am

oh that is the weird one bichon... when you want to stick something new into your document you in6 it (not in grid), this is the opposite, ex6.

11:09 am

i will say that yesterday i went into a tunnel of grammar about whether or not you can "endorse" a feeling

11:09 am

YAY for Lord Peter Death Bredon Wimsey

11:10 am

I dunno about endorsing a feeling, zabeth, but I second that emotion!

11:11 am

vi, have you read the other ones that have been published by Jill Paton Walsh (at first in combo credit with Sayers)? Pickled Gherkins had died in the war as a pilot, so then when Gerald died, Peter became Duke of Denver.

11:12 am

just a bunch of a's and d's to go.. what a grid so twisty

11:12 am

Oh, I've read two of them, the combo plus another. Were there more? I haven't remembered that, although now that you mention it it does sound familiar.

11:13 am

*hadn't

11:13 am

there were two in combo i think

11:13 am

okay i should go, spent more time here than i intended. happy babbling everyone.

11:13 am

thrones, dominations, and a presumption of death

11:13 am

re 6/18 between relaxes and ripped again, please?

11:14 am

then there's the attenbury emeralds, and the late scholar

11:14 am

i'm just going to give this machine a little makeover, cnan, since it's not working right now

11:15 am

Ah, I hadn't counted "Presumption" as being a combo, but I see that it is "based loosely" on work by Sayers. I had not read the next two. I'll have to check those out for summer reading.

11:16 am

ae7?

11:16 am

attenbury emeralds, at first i was like, this is not as good. but then when i got further i realized what she was doing and it WAS good.

11:17 am

lord peter is awesome

11:17 am

mmm - no reboot and no restore

11:17 am

ae7, ends like an ex word (not in the grid) that means superfluous.

11:17 am

no, i'm not rebooting or restoring, i'm making CHANGES, and maybe using a ... screwdriver or something... to do so

11:18 am

Sounds like a Trojan hero

11:18 am

ty Vi

11:18 am

ty hurshy

11:18 am

All right, good to know I should not judge Attenbury Emeralds too quickly, hursh. =)

11:19 am

*dancing in a frenzy of Wimsey fandom*

11:19 am

sorry i spoilered you though

11:20 am

"It's good" is hardly a spoiler, I would hope!

11:20 am

no about the dukedom i mean

11:20 am

tudor

11:21 am

:D i tried that too zooz in case as an adjective for architecture it would now count, but no

11:21 am

Oh, well, like I said I think I had read that somewhere or other, so no worries. I see that my library has them in, so I can get going right away. =)

11:22 am

w00t!

11:23 am

who wants to hear a funny cat story?

11:23 am

memememememem!

11:24 am

ok so i have three cats. opie and fritz are "luv bruvs" and then rilla is a dainty little girl. fritz isn't that bright and he is crazy and wrestles her more than she would like. that is the background.

11:25 am

anyone able to clue the do 736?

11:25 am

fritz was on top of this tv cabinet that i have at an angle in the corner, and he looks down behind it and sees that there are pillows there, so he goes, "oooh, pillows! i'm jumping down"

11:25 am

most like do4/6 ruru

11:26 am

oh.. jeez

11:26 am

so he jumps down but then he's like, wait, how do i get out of here? i can't jump back up from the squishy pillows, and i can't go left, and i can't go right!

11:26 am

not thinking.. thank you

11:26 am

tough grid for me

11:27 am

so he starts making all this racket scrambling around back there, and the other two are looking toward the noises in fascination. rilla was like, "he's a pest, good riddance"

11:27 am

mostly just mind numbingly long

11:28 am

but opie, after awhile, he was worried that fritz would not be able to figure this one out, so he rescued him. he went under the cabinet, and i can only presume poked fritz or looked out at him or whatever, and said "hey, come out this way!" and then came back out, and then a moment later, out pops fritz too.

11:28 am

opie's like a firefighter!

11:28 am

hurshy I don't have that re 6 either

11:28 am

cats are not the same, not not not

11:29 am

I am convinced my cats communicate all the time.

11:29 am

they can be quite hilarous

11:29 am

4:26 pm

And is your offspring dog one of the champions he sired?

4:27 pm

4:28 pm

Amazing dog.

4:28 pm

he'd bring in (retrieve) the New York Times and bring it in for my friend..

4:28 pm

4:57 pm

Hi, Gapeach. Mother is doing better thank you. Is taking stronger medication and hopefully will be on the mend.

4:57 pm

How are you keeping?

4:58 pm

I on the other and have yet another cold. that is now four this year!

4:58 pm

Good news! She and the others in your family are still on my prayer list.

4:58 pm

Hand not and.

4:58 pm

((Gapeach))

5:00 pm

I am OK, zooz. Lost a long time friend yesterday. So I'm rather depressed. Thanks for asking.

5:00 pm

I do not get it. i wash my hands all the time and I use antiseptic gel inbetween and I still keep getting these colds. I have been told I am like sheldon cooper from the big bang theory lol

5:01 pm

(((Gapeach))) I am very sorry to hear that.

5:01 pm

Are you drinking a lot of fluids?

5:01 pm

Hi Zooz, Ga, Peri. Greetings from a sun-soaked (for once) Ireland. Sorry you are under the weather, Zooz.

5:01 pm

I do, Gapeach. Weather is around 30c so drinking plenty of squash!

5:02 pm

((Soodle)) hope you are well?

5:02 pm

Sorry for your loss Gapeach

5:03 pm

Never better, Zooz. Relishing this extraordinary warm spell.

5:03 pm

Hi there, Soodle!!!! Gosh, I haven't seen you in a long time. Hope all is well with you.

You're bad, Zooz & I'm worse!!

5:06 pm

Teehee!

5:07 pm

clue for 1st ex6,33 please? The one before blackmail...

5:07 pm

Same as the EX 6/39 just change the last vowel.

5:08 pm

no, not that one, I have that (last scene of a greek play)

5:08 pm

this is 6,33 not 36

5:09 pm

To put something in like a coin in a machine is to in6 the money. Just use EX instead.

5:09 pm

oh wow, had no idea that was a word!! Thx.

5:10 pm

Welcome.

5:10 pm

Had to look up "drinking squash". You all across the pond have a whole different set of terms. Zoom is drinking fruit juice (for those of you who might think he is drinking a gourd)

5:11 pm

he's probably drinking it while wearing a "jumper" also

5:11 pm

though it may be too hot for that...

5:12 pm

Ah to me fruit juice is real juice from a real fruit squash is like a concentrate. with a tiny bit of real juice in it.

5:12 pm

Or the poor persons version of real fruit juice :-)

5:12 pm

And I am eating a Cadbury's Curly-Wurly right now..... (Google should explain).... :-)

5:12 pm

It's the Brit version of SunnyD

5:13 pm

As long as you're not having Marmite Soodle, we can stay friends :-)

5:13 pm

Hey and what is wrong with marmite!

5:13 pm

<---- Loves Marmite.

5:13 pm

<---Mind went straight to the gutter on Curly-Wurly

5:14 pm

I even put a capital letter on it :-)

5:14 pm

Sorry, I can't fathom why people like yeast paste

5:14 pm

Curly wurly are lovely even though they have shrunk to half the size they used to be.

5:14 pm

Guess you have to have been born a Brit to love it... I only married one, which didn't suffice to help me acquire the taste

5:15 pm

That, and fruit cake, continue to elude me as to why folks eat them

5:15 pm

Oh, now I am laughing even more about "tiny curly-wurlys"

5:15 pm

It tastes devine and it is full of all the vitamin Bs

5:16 pm

Oh my word fruit cake is delish also!

5:16 pm

Point of order..... Squash is NOTHING like SunnyD. SunnyD is the potable version of marmite (note lack of capital letters). Both equally vile.

5:16 pm

No relation - SunnyD is a fake orange drink -

5:16 pm

I ams eeing you babblers in a whole new light here :-)

5:16 pm

<---Thinks Zoom probably likes spotted dick too

5:17 pm

together with some curly-wurly Molly?

5:17 pm

With custard yes please.

5:18 pm

Guess we all like what we were brought up to like...

5:18 pm

Oh, Zooz! You too have noticed the shrinkage in chocolate bars? Molly!! Cease your tittering at link between shrinkage & Curly-Wurlys!!!!

5:19 pm

No don't stop I was rather enjoying the tease lol

5:19 pm

Nope, NatashaW I was given broadbeans when I was young...I hated them. I love them now!

5:20 pm

Although I still hate celery.

5:20 pm

That was me with asparagus Zooz... despised them as a kid, now I love them. But perhaps the early exposure helped to condition us for later liking??

5:21 pm

Kudos to Zooz for dragging the chat back up out of the gutter. Well done Sir!

5:21 pm

Oh yes with hollandaise sauce, NatashW!

5:28 pm

Well think I will try and retire for the evening. Have dosed myself up with Nightnurse so hoping I will not wake up untill the morning. Happy babbling everyone!

5:29 pm

Night night Zooz. :-)

5:36 pm

And it's good night from me as well. Curly-Wurly demolished, lip-smackingly good! Toodle-Oo.

"Two kids slide down inside a chimney. One is _______."

One four letter word you've never heard of just also happens to be the name of a big oil company.

"Music for percussion only is pretty much ________."

6:32 pm

Oh that conversation ended just like it started. With Zoom going to bed with a Night Nurse. Hahahaha!

7:53 pm

is that anything like a Wet Nurse?

7:54 pm

Molly thinks it is.

8:00 pm

I love teasing zooz. .he's such a good sport

8:01 pm

and it makes a good picture . zooz is a gem

8:10 pm

Hi Bugsy

8:11 pm

waves to origami. this grid has taken all day and I am sick of it but am compelled to continue

8:11 pm

I'm in and out - painting today.

8:13 pm

And spilled a big drop of water on my painting. Blotted it up and it left a big mark. Now I have to redo a section of my background. Ugh.

8:13 pm

lucky you. I have been house cleaning, ironing and other boring stuff. I should be reading not doing this but hey. . .

8:14 pm

what kind of paint?

8:14 pm

Acrylic.

8:14 pm

I've become more adept at telling myself the cleaning will wait until tomorrow :D

8:14 pm

should be easier to fix than watercolour then but I couldn't do it

8:15 pm

I have company coming tomorrow

8:15 pm

It's fixable. It may, however, "leave a mark."

8:26 pm

you have more company in two weeks

8:26 pm

this will be a full month but I will be ready!

8:27 pm

it will be a whale of a time

8:27 pm

I'm hoping for a special orcasion

8:28 pm

yup. just don't fall in.

8:28 pm

I don't do well as BAIT

8:31 pm

I would love to go orca watching. Have seen humpbacks.

8:33 pm

traditionally we only saw orcas here but now the humpbacks are coming and the locals are more thrilled to see them. I just am filled with awe whenever I spot them

8:36 pm

you must come up origami. We will go

8:37 pm

Oooh! Planning trip for next year.

8:43 pm

Thank you Dorens :D

8:43 pm

Of course I first have to buy my place and install guest cottage

8:44 pm

Ah, shucks :D

8:45 pm

are you hoping to move up here too, Dorens? Where would you like to locate?

8:45 pm

The bruhaha in Iron Sudoku is over the top. I let loose a little today because I was so tired of the inflammatory posts.

8:45 pm

what were they brouhahaing about

8:45 pm

I would love to live there. Maybe too pricey for m.

8:47 pm

they go on about American politics trying to find converts

8:48 pm
