man, sprite is not going to like this - 23 k words!
I am with spite!
heck *I* don't like 23 K words, either, lol
And they’re fighting back.
bottom E?
Es6/21
ty
morning all
wth... 23?!?!?!? omg I do not even know that many of them
There's a to 7/28. Nice normal word.
lol hursh you are SO right!
Hi sprite!
*hugs Kam* How are you and your beloved doing today?
Enjoying a cool-down in the weather - only about 92F today, much better!
I was pleased to see 150 words - but no with only 88 I am stuck - mean little grid
what a difference that makes, right? We are finally past the heat wave here too, it is such a relief.
*but now
Killer Ks
9/23 and so so stuck, lol
Ten degrees does make a huge difference sometimes! I LOVE having windows and doors open!
snap Sprite
lol ursh
yeah, open windows and all, and able to do stuff without sweating like a pig, and not feeling so darn tired the whole time. I managed to get the flu during the heat too, lol, it was... kinda disgusting.
I hope you are feeling better now!
stats for the lone i please
Hi all; hugs, Sprite
definitely :) Even feeling a little more energised, so that is good.
*hugs Liz* Hello dear one, how are you and your beloved doing?
yeah, me, too, ursh, was about to ask the same
We're fine thanks - glad to see you're feeling a bit better.
I think the lone i was il4/8
il4/8
ty, ladies
Thanks for that one.
good to hear, Liz. I finally started making bread again. It was too hot here to have the oven on for so long.
Here it's cold so we're leaving the bread for ages to prove - mind you, that's supposed to be best for the flavour.
true, I read that in Hollywood's book too
you'd think enable would accept kontur, seeing how it usually goes for the crazy spellings anyway *mumblemumble*
I keep trying lots of "Dutch" sounding words with double a in the middle. Probably don't sound Dutch at all!
I scoured morewords and now have 22 of 23, but of course that last one eludes me, grrr
one is valid even, Liz, though the meaning is different. In Dutch it would mean cheese!
good job, rbud. 20/23 here still
Have that one :)
yay!
Tried it with an e at the end too - ever hopeful!
knocked 'em - finally
there's a ka 6/36, alt spelling of Islamic spiritual leader
Have that one :) But still only have 12 of them though.
yayyyy Kam!
and a ko 5/26, which I always thought had 2 w's, meaning a sort of groveling bow
thanks for that one, rbud
got the groveling one. Still one short
and a ko 4 you can have if you drop the w
how many k 6 words? I have 3
Ks done. There is another ka6.
also an alternate spelling that isn't in the regular dictionary, a 5 instead of 4
that is all of the 6s, rbud
You are GOOD, Sprite!!
I'm in awe of you all!
really not, lol, when it comes to ks. They freeze my brain.
brb, need coffee :)
back. Lol, y'all can chat on while I am away, no need to wait :P
firewords! Nite all, have a great day or night!
Congrats, Kam.
BBL - sleep well or have a good day / evening, wherever you are.
wtg Kam!!!!!!!!!!! Sleep well, dear one
bye Liz, have a lovely evening and a peaceful night
and *hugsss* to the both of you
Thanks! I need a good sleep, should be a good night since it finally cooled off - now if that darned rooster will wait at least until dawn, haha!
*gently squeezes rooster's neck* Not a sound, ya hear?

*hugs rose* Hello my darling friend. How are you doing, and how is Don?
how is my bestie today? ebergy levels getting better, sweetie?
ugh.... energy
yes, feeling less tired and more inspired to actually do stuff.
good for you honey
any ps words?
am pretty sure the Big Guy is listening to your prayers, lol.
nope rbud
at least one, rbud
oh darn, sorry, I misread. I thought you said ph.
ty
lolll, He had better be, sprite...
ikr? Am still having trouble keeping the communication going in that direction, I am afraid
oh, oh, oh... guess what??
what?
i danced the Nut Bush, tina turner's song, at gym this morning.
nearly killed me.....my legs were like jelly.
oh wowwwww rose, that must have felt soooo good though!
AND i had 500gm weights on my legs....
that is totally awesome, darling. Great job.
i am absolutely chuffed. thanx sweetie. so one of my goals has happened. now if i could only do it without collapsing at the end...
you will. This is a milestone, and a stepping stone towards the next one. Give your poor body a chance to build up stamina and muscles and all.
i hear you.
i know the leg weights don't sound much but after an hour's program in the gym, they feel like they are so much heavier.
our temporal dog has gone home again. *phew* What a job that is, sitting a jack russell pup. He is a darling, but omg you have to watch him every single second. And poor Terra... he has not a moment's peace unless we restrain the pup.
honey, half a kilo is a LOT of extra weight to move around in such a fashion. Not sure where you carry it? If it is near the foot, it is extra taxing.
*giggle* should be good training for when the grandkids start appearing..
yeah, the weights are strapped around my ankles. just move the halo and on they go.
told my beloved that if we ever get grandkids, we are gonna be the kind of grandparents that spoils them rotten and refuses to ... not sure of the word. Do all the things parents need to do to raise their child right.
weights around your ankles are very taxing. 500g is a lot.
must be such a wonderful feeling, knowing you DID it!
sure is. trying not to be smug though... but as i said, one of my goals achieved. considering just over 4 months ago i was exercising sitting down as i couldn't stand for long periods.
oh for crying out loud, be SMUG. Be smugger than smug. Silly girl. You should be, as we say here, proud as a dog with three dicks :)
omg.... ROFLOLLL
most people in your situation would not have had the spirit to get up and fight, and push through all the pain and exhaustion and red tape to get better. You did all that, are still doing it, and you deserve every little bit of smugness over the wonderful results.
thanx so much honey. xoxox
*hugs* Will be so awesome, if we can hug IRL next year. *fingers crossed*
yeah, crossing everything here also. fingers, toes, legs, eyes..
so pretty you look now :P
*giggle* i can't see straight..
don't forget to uncross some parts before peeing
now THAT would be interesting.
lol
how you doing with that wretched K ?
*smug* got them all.
whoot !!! yay for you !!!
took some doing though, lol. But you know how I always get them out of the way first. Otherwise they keep pestering me.
rbud helped, and ursh
*sigh* our prime minister is about to be thrown out by his own party. some snake in the grass is rattling his sabre. really, i simply cannot believe just how unstable our government is. this will be our 7th(i think) prime minister in a decade. it is utterly ridiculous.
that is horrible, rose :(
our current man is reasonably okay. at least he donates his entire income from being prime minister to charity. he has had some good policies too.
as far as I am able to judge, there is no such thing as an honest politician. I am afraid politics are way beyond me. Do not understand anything about them.
don, asks, how do you know when a politician is lying?
his mouth is moving...loll
you see his li4 move?
I am with Don :D
lolll
should be an easy day for me. I am gonna clean the kitchen, fill up another box for throwing out, walk terra and fix my na4s. Should be enough for today.
sounds good to me...
aaggghhhh. just remembered i need to buy food for tomorrow's lunch. writing a list quickly for don..
ouch.
Hello everyone! May I have the stats for the lone i and Bottom E please?
*hugs zooz* Hello dear man, how are you and the parents doing?
the i is il4/8
bottom e is es6/21
Is it! Well I have tried every il 4 combos I can think of LOL
I am plodding along. Mother the same bless her dad just as annying as ever lol
How are you keeping?
Annoying*
{{zooz}}
((Rose))
lol
il + letter I hate most + vowel
Yeah just got it as you was typing it, Sprite.
Will remember that one.
wtg zooz :)
espian
sorry guys
*giggles* You are close
Yep got that one too now. Thank you for the help, Sprite.
yvw zooz
Tell you a weird thing. When I am in bed my left foot will ache like a toothache...Not every night...about three times a week now. The weird part is when I touch the foot to see which part is hurting...it does not hurt anywhere as in heel, toes, achilles. What that is about I do ot know lol
rose is doing awesome, zooz. She has been dancing her ass off on Tina Turner.
Tina Turner Did she sing hot legs? or is it she has hot legs lol
sounds like nerve pain, zooz. You should have it checked out, see if there is a nerve pinched.
she has the hottest legs, lol. With added weights of 500 g a leg.
Good for you, Rose. I am glad you are feeling better after your infusion!
thanx dear zooz. i'm getting ready to hike your legs off when come over next.. loll
she should be telling you herself, but she is busy making a grocery list
At the time I feel like I should just chop it off. Will stop that pain lol
ikr? It is the pits, nerve pain. Chopping it off won't work though. Phantom pain!
Thought it might be circulation problems as in the way I sleep but not sure.
Have tried different postions but once asleep you can not stop moving about.
Anyway nothing much just annoying that is all :-)
that is another possibility. If you sit a lot, you might try to walk more often, and stretch your legs, especially the backside. With bad circulation, you may end up with nerve damage.
I am down to exactly 50 words left.
good advice sprite.
gooooo zooz!
I do sit a lot and get back of the leg ache. But I also do move about a lot too.
Have you done your shopping list, Rose?
Maybe I need to exercise more and build up the muscles to protect my legs a bit more.
yes mate. don has gone out for me. i am cooking savoury mince on toast with a greek salad.
sounds lovely
Wow I have never tried mince on toast.
last time i cooked it, the group cleaned out the pot... loll
zooz, yes, and not only build up muscles, but stretch them. A few yoga exercises might actually do you a whole lot of good. When you stretch your muscles, you stimulate the circulation and help get rid of ... not sure of the word... waste... poison... built up bad juices.
Hope they washed up as a thannk you too!
zooz, mine has chopped field mushrooms in it, with worcestershire, tomato sauce and red wine in it.
Yes good idea, Sprite. I do have a few yoga books here somewhere too!
ooooo so tasty. Any onions too?
Sounds nice, Rose. Mine would have to have garlic or onions in it too.
oh yes, and garlic and fresh parsley
Ha! Snap, Sprite.
do you know those ki4 of excercises that are so nasty... like sitting with straight legs, feet pulled up, and then slowly bend over your legs? Those ki4!
absolutely to die for, rose. I am coming for lunch tomorrow.
cancel the rest of the group, I will clean out that pot by myself...and wash up after
lolll sprite. could send some over but it might not make it.
it will make it. Not fit to eat anymore though :P
Yes I will do some of those as well as for other parts of the body. Might as well do the whole body while I am at it. will have to dig out the books first or google yoga positions.
Would customs let food through though at either end.
better to pick 2 or 3 excercises and do them every day, zooz, then start out fanatically doing 10 and end up not doing any in a week
yeah, food from aus to here is allowed. The other way around, not, alas
pity you on'y have access to a hot water pool zooz. you can be very active in the warm water, with very little damage done to joints/muscles.
not on'y but don't have... for pete's sake.
Oh I agree, Sprite. I would not rush it any way. I would always start off gently with justa couple of moves and work my way up with more as time went by and I got more flexi and suptle.
good :) I was projecting, probably. I tend to go full out at the start and then find out I cannot keep it up
I do have a bath, Rose. A bit small but at least the water would be hot LOl
I know what you mean, Sprite. i learnt the hard way many moons ago when i used to do weight training. I went all out at first and soon paid the price. Never again.
my don jogs in the hot water for 20 minutes.
A good exercise indeed, Rose.
*giggle* he says he couldn't jog for more than 30 secs out of the water.
Ha! bless him.
neither can I. Cannot jog at all, alas
Okay I think it is time for me to get going. nice to catch up with you ladies. Take care and happy babbling everyone!
have a grand day, zooz, and a peaceful and painfree night
Found a book called Stretching by mark evans. Will look through it later. By for now.
that should do ya
pfffff 7 left. Not an easy grid.

it is really nasty, sprite

This is a tricky, twisty little grid, methinks
it defo is
*poofs*
i meant come back to my house... *sigh* how can i soar like an eagle, when they only give me pigeons to work with?
Haaa! I will, I promise! You can't think that was my last time ever in Melbourne, can you?!
how is Jeff's mum?
She's been moved to a home yesterday, though she's very much not happy about it, insists she can live on her own (she so very much can't). So it's just a wait and see now and hope she settles
She's very senile, mostly blind, semi-incontinent, needs help eating and dressing - just too much for Jeff's sister to cope with (she's been doing it for a year but the decline has been steep)
i am sure she will settle, matty. once they get the taste of having fresh meals put in front of them regularly, clean clothes, and warmth or coolth as needed, and no more housework.
She hasn't been able to do any housework for years. She really needs full time care - plus, she smokes in her kitchen...which is carpeted...and she forgets she's lit one - there are cigarette burn holes all around her chair.
She really is very senile, so isn't thinking sensibly. She thinks she's fine on her own. She isn't.
oh dear.. that is quite dangerous.
And she's verbally aggressive and demanding
Jeff is consumed with guilt for not being there full time (his sister has done much of the heavy lifting) and for putting her in a home and for not staying up there
He came back yesterday; he'll probably go back next week for a few days before we go on holiday
honey, reassure him please. his sister is probably better equipped to cope the old dear. as for putting her in a home, how would he feel if her house burned down with her in it?
she needs 24/7 watching. no one person can do that. that is why they have three different shifts in these homes. so the staff and recover quietly after their shifts.
need to go matty love. hope your day is good. holding you and Jeff and his family close to my heart. xoxox
Exactly - thank you! Have a lovely evening! xx
has anyone seen or heard from Ruby, yesterday or today? She hasn't been on babble, and not answered my email...unusual for her not to answer quickly. I am worried
Sorry, Kallia, I haven't.
thanksfor answering anyway Haz
she's been in a bad way for a week or so
I can't remember if she was on yesterday either.
I checked and she wasn't
She did got to the doctor by ambulance last week.
she gave me a load of number last week, her address but not her telephone number...I will see if I can findthe number
That's unusual. Let's hope she is being looked after.
yes,and she went to the hospital on Sat/Sun
that's what worries me, she doesn't seem to have anyone for hours at a time
The only babbler I know who has her phone number is Soodle.
is there anyway of contacting Soodle?
Only e-mail, I think. Her e-mail is in her profile.
Sorry, was called away to the phone.
I cant get into her profile
I will see if I can find her telephone from her address
I think yesterday was her scan
ruby was on yesterday, saying she had finally obtained an appointment with her oncologist.
Kalia.... I’m here now....
Not to worry.... I’ve emailed you.
read your icon, Soodle … don't think I'm Irish
oink
??? sorry
ty boj LOL
Soodle are you still here?
I've not had an e-mail
Ruby was not on yesterday, I've just checked the archive. She had a scan last week,
email arrived
Ruby was on around noon on Tuesday, French time ... she was in what she described as great pain and was trying to get some doctor, any doctor to prescribe some new pain medication ... I believe she was expecting to see the oncologist sometime on Thursday
Glad that came through, Kalia. May I ask you to update me by email if you have any news? Thanks
Akin
Oops.... apologies
Ruby's scan was fine. They think she might have a broken collar bone or a muscle tear. She's still in a lot of pain and will be going back in to try to address that
... hate to say it ... but that's great news ... if the diagnosis is correct ... that can be fixed ... ... thanks origami
It is good news

No new drugs, but oncologist said l can take MUCH morre than l've been taking and l was worried that l was taking a Dangerous amount.
Catch 22, Ruby. One does build up a tolerance for those drugs over time.
I saw the oncologist yesterday & they're looking for a small tear in a muscle or a small fracture in my collarbone
Ouch. Did you fall?
No
... did the dog bounce on you? or otherwise play? ...
He could crush me but, luckily, he's not that affectionate or playful when it's so hot
... I'm just reminded of an ancient story that the most common cause of broken hips in older women was not falls but simply standing up from being seated too deeply in a chair ... ... it could have been something as simple as picking up something that was a little too heavy or pushing a big dog out of the way
any clue for the en5/18?

Are you just random clueing?
Yup.
#5 ka clue should be k+ person from Italy etc. But I figured y'all would get it...
Almost all the k words are really obscure....perhaps a little help would be appreciated...it took me a long time to get just the n's
*k's
#8 ka sounds like it should be the name of a type of electron....
1. Ki 4 ki+ abb for not available 2. Ki pl of #1 3.builds on #2 but changes meaning 4. Ki what **** of fool am I? 5. Ki pl of #4. 6. Ki first syllable of type of energy...not potential, but...7. Ki change last vowel of #6

hello 123 to go
hello again, 111 to go here and they're not coming easy
too many interruptions!!!!!!!! and while we wait for a particular one who is late, late!!!
no doubt held up with a problem
What clues do You want next???
I am glad it helped... The ks were hard...
hard?!? they were ridiculous many of them
Most of it is obscure and ridiculous!!!!
Do you want me to do another letter??
I did not use real definitions as that certainly would not have helped me. I am not a crossword puzzler....
the trouble with babblets abounding is, sometimes there's a real word staring me right in the face (e.g. the lovely spring flower in today's grid) but I'm so busy monkeying words no one's ever heard of that I fail to see it!
and then I just give myself a nice fish slap when I finally do spot it...d'oh!
True...I stared at more than one common word, wondering what it meant...lol!
F.e., un5 16...I kept thinking, gosh, do people describe this "dislocation" like this....when it really means to be "uncool"....fish slap right there
ha ha ha!
Yup...lol!
It is as if the puzzle brainwashed me into looking for difficult...easy doesn't come easy in a puzzle as awful as this one....
hi all, has rubyfoo been here since her lastest oncology appt?
exactly! your eye skips over the obvious "real" word while hunting for the weird obscure one
help with al words pls

Hi everybody - Peri- in response to your question about Rubyfoo.... she has seen her specialist. They think her recen extreme pain might be due to a collarbone fracture or a muscle tear.
Ei5 alt. Spelling of a "graven image"
I don't know whether to be relieved for her or not...she hurts a lot...
I am paraphrasing Kalia's earlier post. I spoke to Rubes earlier & she sounded perky & in good form.
(((((( soodle)))))))

HELL is about right
right after I sent my resignation email, the principal called me, and he was SO RUDE
A job should never be hell....I hope no one has to endure that! I am sorry that you did.
anyway....onward!
Clues???
Sorry.... The Pope is due to visit here on Saturday & I'm a bit salty about the fact that MILLIONS will be spent on the guy who is head of an organisation which facilitated the abuse of children.
I am done, so use me!! I am stuck in bed, I feel awful, and this is a good distraction.
Yeah...and I live in the state that it happened, and am not a bit surprised.
ugh
Nobody does anything about anything here. The state motto should be, "What are you gonna do??"
so.....just returned from moving secondo in to the big city. I am sad for me, but thrilled for her!
Enduring nastiness and abuse seems to be an Art in PA...
Correction Jai... you live in ONE of the states that it happened in.... but... I am breaking a Babble rule.... Thou Shalt Not Discuss Politics Or Religeon. So I will shut up now
Mixed feelings when the kiddies grow up...it's such a confusing emotional trip.
it is indeed
Just let the record show that I am enraged.
Yeah, I know, I know...but this was international in scope...I guess we can be forgiven a tiny mention...just so people know that I am not totally brain dead....
Me, too. I was abused in a non Catholic church, but it had ties....grrr.
I think this pope has done more about the abuse of children than the previous ones.. but they aren't doing enough and moving quickly enough
I like this pope, but the Church really moves too slow....
and a lot of these abuses were before his time...
Yes!!! And they have an underground network....if you aren't in it, it is possible to be oblivious....
that still doesn't excuse the Church for not moving strongly or quickly enough to deal with it.. it's still happening too
Child abuse is the lowest of the low
Grrr.....let's get back to our infuriating puzzle....at least we can conquer that....
It is the ethos of the organisation over which he presides that bothers me. He is the boss. It is within his power to change that. To date he has failed.
I have always distrusted men in dresses.
noda

I am going to nap for a while...bbl...love to all.....
