not getting anywhere with this grid, perhaps a good night's sleep will help - be back in the morning
good morning all
Good morning, sprite.
*hugs peach* how are you today?
ks killed
Doing OK here.....and you?
cooee and g'day from me. {{{{spritey}}}}} {{peach}}
Hey there, rose.
that is good to hear. Though OK is not great, so *hugs* and may you feel great(er) soon. I am good. We just found buyers for our house, now looking for a place to temporally live where we can build our tiny house. Exciting times!
rooooooseeeee cooooooeeeee finally! *hugs* sweetie. How are you today? How did Thom's place go?
Oh, good for you, sprite. I'm glad things are going well.
That's good news, Sprite!! New adventures await!
Must find food....
*hugs Kam* Good evening, dear one! How have you and Michael been doing?
it went sooo well. a new lady came today. she announced "i don't like tomato soup " i said please just try it.. loll she had three bowlfuls. me... thinking i may go in sooner rather than later for my infusions.
{{{{kam}}}}}
{{{sprite}}} {{{rose}}}
hmzzz sweetie... you going in sooner means you are in pain. *holds rose in warm hug* Great that lunch went so terrific again. And yay for your tomato soup!
We finally made it up the hill yesterday, but the winds from the weekend had blown most of the leaves off of the aspens. We did see some pretty sights though.
sorry about you missing out on the splendour of the aspens, Kam, but glad you enjoyed the sights anyway.
Gads, I wish there wasn't a war on pain relief here...I am so sore today from being in the car on mountain roads - and the dog doesn't realize he's on a leash until he takes off running...then he calms down, but I still get sore (er)
We saw a few in sheltered areas...I feel badly that I was too sick to go two weeks ago...but I know he had fun
anything we can do to help, Kam? What do you need to battle your pain?
Don't know, Sprite, wish I had a solution. As of January, Medicare won't even cover my decreased amount of pain meds - I can't get relief from what they'll allow, and the pharmacies are just a total pain - I get to fight with them tomorrow again for my refill. It takes them at least two days...but I complained to the state in Oct, so maybe they will actually fill on due date...fingers crossed.
Kam, sweetie, your health is more important. I am glad you took the time to recover from the flu, it was a bad one.
Gads, I'm so glad I feel better! I was down for a good 4 weeks, which sucked. Starting to catch up on laundry and stuff, yay!
which painkillers work for you?
Rose, how is Don doing? Still going strong on pulling his weight?
little steps kam. i am now goal-setting. if i achieve more that's a bonus. if i reach my goals, and don't feel terrific, i just sit down for the rest of the day.
The ones I use - at the dose I used to use. I can function. But I'm down a lot because of the gov't. I see doc again in 3 weeks, and am going to ask to go back to what I had before, don't know if he'll ok it or not, doubt it
which meds are that? If you want to tell, that is?
Will email
I love it, rose. That is such a great way to go about it.
okay.
That's what I do too, Rose. Extra chores getting done are always a bonus!
sure is sprite. but he can't help me at 3am when i am lying in the dark staring at the ceiling. i feel burning hot, then after throwing the covers off, i begin to feel freezing cold. that's why i think i need to go in soon.
am starting to see what flosey meant. Not an easy grid today.
am glad, rose. And I hear ya... it can be a lonely place in the middle of the night. Did you call drJ today? Or will you call on Monday first thing? :)
i have to admit, after my first run through i still had nearly 80 to find.. the words are very twisty.
that is a lot better than I am doing. Am slowing down before hitting halfway.
oh i already have an appointment but not for nearly 2 weeks. that one is to discuss my right knee nerve.
yeah I know, but you need to plan your next infusion.
sorry... Ms Lasix and Mr Senna both decided to yell at the same time...
how do you spell someone taking care of herds of sheep?
who are they?
shepherd
lasix = fluid, senna = number twos
ah. That extra H. Thanks hun.
ohhhhh LOL! New one for me. So now you are 2 kg lighter at least :D
yup....
phantom: shepherd, lool. And omelet.
oh, ikr ? i stared and stared trying to make omelet
it is so very very very almost there. A super phantom so to speak
sprite ?? what did you think of my suggestion re an on-site caravan pro te4?
oh sweetie, no worries. The tent would only be for the time between moving out of our house and buying the caravan. Just a few days. And don't forget, we are experienced and well-equipped campers. We even have a stove for in the tipi, which warms it up to blissful temperatures.
oh, then that's all good then. i am pleased...
:D
Michael is ready to order his tipi in spring so we can spend time "up the hill." He's been talking about it a lot!
how lovely kam, that he is now well enough to make plans like that..
wow Kam, that is great news! He must really be feeling a lot better.
He is doing so well that people who have known him for years comment on how well he looks! The DBS is slowly but surely improving his PD symptoms.
lol.... or what sprite said..
He gets "word salad" though. Some days I can't understand a thing that comes out of his mouth, lol!
*sends up a huge bunch of gratitude to the Big Guy*
ah well, Kam, if that is the price, I am sure you will pay it gladly. Let's face it, our guys often do not make sense anyway ;)
I think his brain is just moving faster than his mouth can process his thoughts, so it all comes out in a jumble when he gets excited.
hahaha, sprite! true - they think differently
*hands Kam a bottle of dictionary dressing to go with the word salad*
lol!
don't forget the glass of chardy to wash it done...lolll

I am over halfway. Quite a tough delivery today
Brings out the gluten free crackers...I'm so boring, and so tired of not being able to eat bread!
Yeah, this is a toughy. I have 23 left, and need to go to bed. Soon!
you are NEVER boring, Kam. But I understand you getting tired of that.
ughhhhhh phantom: paradise! How positively criminal.
I get so jealous when I smell sourdough toast! And Michael has been bringing a variety of breads home lately - whatever is on sale and isn't junk...some of it smells SO good - I actually ate a few bites a couple of months ago...and paid dearly. It's just so tempting, and I know I'll forget the last time eventually...and do it again, haha
it is tough. Not many things smell as good as freshly baked bread.
kam, did you see the news that australian scientists have developed a vaccine to help people with gluten intolerance.
no, will have to look it up
vaccines scare me - I don't trust the unknowns in them
it's so exciting. coeliacs will be able to eat ANYTHING they like.
Dad would love that! He has made himself so sick eating pie that he ended up in the hospital from dehydration. He loves pie!
you know it is a bad grid when you have ra7/32 and no paradise
*giggle*
I'm stuck with 12 Ps left...getting sleepy here, 'tis after 1AM

dinner time soon. what's on your agenda today, honey? anything exciting?
I am gonna make myself some breakfast and will come back to this evil grid a little later. Not doing much today, still under the weather. Fixing my nails, I think, writing a story for the heart academy later this month, maybe a bit of painting.
*hugs* and lotsa luv, honey. Enjoy your dinner and evening, and sleep well later on.
and to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
nice quietish day then. good.. after all the nerve-racking stuff.

{{(((Nef)))}}} It's been a while!
Hi Kate. I've been sick with a cold this past week; and I hear your computer has been "sick" too
Sorry to hear you are under the weather Nef...I hope you are on the upswing now - 'tis the season - the change and damp seems to bring out the *bugs*
I keep thinking I'm better; especially since I "shared" this with DH; but we're both still sick.
ooh, what a nice pr7
Yes, landlord bought a new router or something - designed to boost the signal from his source... AND h e bought a huge long ethernet cable so I would be hardwiredm rahter than on wifi (wich was always dpooty).. well... the cable seemed ine for about 3 weeks then it wasdn't... it's been mostly off for the last 6 days... I am back on the wifi now... no idea what is wrong with the cable that worked ofne for 3 weeks then poofed... I asked him to take the (route?) back - itmust still be under warranty.... but no.... Ive never seen a man so tight with a nickel and so willing to not get what he paid for... :(
As they say; colds usually last a week to ten days; this has been 8 days now, so I should get better this weekend. (right?) ;-)
Oh... if poor DH has it, you are doome Nef! <windk and smirk> hope you both recove quickly!
Oh, Man, Kate; that would be a pain!
Hi hurshy :) and yes Nef... ho[pefully this weekend....
warning - it drops out with no notice... and often I can't recover it so just shut down and try the next day..... SO IF ANYONE needs really terrible clues (filled with typos) now is the time to ask...LMAO
I still need 190 words; far too many to clue, Kate.
I do hope your internet problems are fixed soon.
Yes Nef,, a royal pain... he has no clue what is wrong - but refuses to have anyone touch his computer, so there's no way he'll even bring in the router thingy to have it checked.../ he makes me crazy sometimes :/
And you don't have a friend who can see the problem I suppose...
well, not much time to go, I can toss ot some of the longer or weirder ones... pretty sure there are some lurkerz that would like some clues too
I do need stats & clues for the 9 & 10, if you can stick around that long
The problem is that teh "booster" he has set up is tied to his computer..and NO ONE touches his computer... I think it's a glitchin the cprogramming - it worked fine for about 3 weeks... I THINK there was an automatic update for the router that is glitchy and that is the problem... back on crappy wifi that is not reliable for the time being
I can stay until the roiuter says I'm sone Nef... ;)

Watch out, Kate. I got chewed out for tossing out clues...which is why I don't compose my poems and such... It made me sad.
I, on the other hand, am happy to announce a burrowing rodent.
jai, some people are weird that way; but if you do clue towards the end of the evening; most people won't get upset
Jai.... with an hour to go and lots of "sticky" words, I doubt anyone reallt cares about clues... it this was a couple hours after the flip, it would be a totally different story.
I don't know that Babble had purists, but I guess I missed that particular se 7 32....
YAY jane!!!! catch them varmints~

I am hardly on here then...this is early for me....oh, well. I am too sensitive.
I wouldn't worry about it Jai... especially at this time of night, many are glad for the clues... and there are always lurkerz <3

That was my point. I really have to think about clues..
True Nef... chat can be hidden if desired. I used to love the silly free-for-alls at the end of the night when there was a big of tough grid... :D
"Used to?"" Some of us still get silly
morning or mid afternoon, I would be more likely to try to give a cryptic clue or straight definition, but at this time of night? Bah, humbug ;)
The days when I have managed to be on lately have been small grids or easier to find words - so not a lot of chat later in the evening to ge sillineass in... :)
se6/24?
Has the pr10/84 been clued?
rhymes with Shirley the tap dancing little girl with DI7
Kate, I try to always be myself. If there are some people who are fussy, I may just try to clue; but if several people are a bit goofy, then I will be too

You had jsut gotten a new mattress last I was on regularly.... so you are still hurting dearest rose?
sweetest of dreams jen. xoxox
thank you grannyrose
Well done Jen! This wasn't an easy grid.. sleep well :)
the mattress is not the problem. it's the FM flaring up.
Niters, Jen
oh, granny, I'm sorry to hear that. is there something that would help at all?
Poor rose... the pool and gyn aren't helping? do you need some proper rest with no exertion for a whle until the FM ababtes???
gym*
(IDK, Kate maybe a gyn might help too! ;-)
(Or maybe spell it gin?
haha.......don't get rose going ;)
gin would be efficacious, I'm sure ;)))))))
nef, kate, jai--I enjoy you all, I mostly lurk. rasta--daughter--gives clues on hard ones--
Hi RoundBarn! How are you doing these days?
Roundbarn.. you are missedint he chog! Yu used to chat a lot more.... :(
nef, that would take a letter!! Nobody's buying my good books--I have another.
kate, that's what the 3 days in hospital will give me. i will be able to rest without any pain while the ketamine courses through my veins..
nef, sangria is my fave tipple.
OH, MY granny! That is serious pain then!
RoundBarn, you have another book our now? after the 4th one?
..and not just ANY sangria..... spritey has a recipe for sangria made with rocket fuesl .... ;)
kate, a couple times I got chatting--to know me, sorta, see roundbarnstories.com, or jacquelinejackson.com, if I remember them correctly--
round barn has been busy!!!
i do try to not complain nef, but sometimes i just wanna scream and scream. it's unrelenting. oral meds only take the edge off it.
nef, I'll try to email you my pidcture book--good, but I haven't tried to publish it yet--
She has written a wonderful series of book about - what else?_ a Round Barn and her family history with the barn.
I did have you bookmaeked at one time roundbarn... but have lost a lot of former contact stuff... I think I still have your e-mail (but am a HORRID correspondent) :(
Oh rose... so you will be checked into the hospital for 3 days of R&R whle the dose you with ketamine?
granny, I used to work withKetamine back in the 70's when we did the Childrens'Heart fund (Kids from around the world would come to the Twin Cities and have cutting edge heart surgeries to repair heart birth defects). They used Ketamine for the chikldren's anesthesia.
I have another unpublished one, nef, based on my stay at Greenham Common in the mid 80s--appropriate for now. (I am now archiving all my farm papers for U of Wis--60 boxes so far and some hardware--am finding lots of other stuff in my messes of papers--
yes kate. i take a small laptop with me, but sometimes i am so spaced out i can hardly read the screen... loll. mind you, doc puts midazalam in with the ketamine nowadays and that helps a lot.
It's a great drug that vets use to do surgery on large animals; and now they have used it (I understand) if a person is out of control in emergency situations
over here nef, it is used all the time for post-op analgesia.
bedtime now though--have been much involved politically--my Halloween costume was a Blue Wave--
midaz alam.... alrazolam... Xanax for ati anxiety rose? sounds like you'll be out of it and floating on the clouds :D
and since i started having the ketamine infusions, my sleep and central apnea has all but disappeared. there is still such a lot to learn about this drug.
It wasn't used often here because a lot of times the hallucinations were really bad. Of course, they have probably learned how to use it better over the past 45 years
goodnight all. I like liatening to you.
WTG, RoundBarn!!
Nef.. ketamine is horse tranquilisers LOL.. and unfortunately use as a date rape drug too(?) saw a tv episode where ket was used...
sweet dreams roundbarn. lovely to see you again.
kate, the midazalam is for the nausea while the ketamine goes in.
sorry to see yu go so wuickly roundbarn... try no to stay away s long - even if you just poop in to say hi... sounds like we all have some catch up reading to do in yur world... TY for working so hard for the political process!
One of my sisters is a vet, Kate. She's told me they need to keep the horses eyes covered until the animal is fully awake
that's why i was a pharmacy nurse. at least one of my hats was. i am fascinated at how a drug and it's side effects can be used in so many different situations.
isn't that the truth, granny? And some of us have the exact opposite reactions to drugs than most people do
exactly, nef. for instance, i can take cephalothin but not cephazolin. i am allergic to the bonding agent in the latter.
(granny, I didn't realize that was your specialty. We don't have that specific title of pharmacy nurses here)
and many geriatric patients swear by Panamax, and say panadol is ineffective. again the bonding agents are different although the same active ingredient.
That is really interesting, granny. I cantake PCN but no cephalosporins because I break out in rashes from them; whereas PCN isn't a problem for me
IDK what Panamax is; but isn't Panadol Tylenol here?
marketed as Versed over here...would have thought you'd have somethng like compazine.. did a quick read on your midazalam...
*grin* nef, i did say it was ONE of my hats. i was also a pain-management specialist, an ortopaedic specialist, and a crit. care nurse, specialising in post-anaesthesia nursing.
yes, nef. paracetamol is the active ingredient. names like Tylenol of manufacturers names, paracetamol is the generic name.
so hard to 'talk drugs" with the Brits(incl. NZ and OZ) because the names are often very different... even anadol - that's just acetaminophen....
ahh! My "specialt was CV-ICU (for 34 years), I was a CCRN for 25 of those years 7 was among the first 500 CCRN's in the world. (I did its to prove to myself that I was a good nurse)
acetaminophen = paracetamol doesn't it?
jpanadol/paracetemol/tylenol acetaminophen... all the same. similar for forms of ibuprofen...different names
Yep, they are the same, granny
which is why when i talk drugs i use the generic names. there is usually no confusion then.
works well for the fancy stuff rose.. but even paracetamol = acetaminophen on this side of the pond.
the generic names translate better with the more complex drugs though
yeah, that's a little hard too. one must learn what the generic names are in the different countries.
And most are really difficult to pronounce too.
try clopidogrel
what's that one for? It sounds like I *should* know it, but I'm not sure
plavix. anticoagulant. i have stents in the LAD atery in my heart
*rolls eyes* aRtery
(((granny)))
yeah well what can i say? only another CCRN would know and understand.
ready for flip.
Plavix = clopidogrel
Some of the generic names are really hard to pronounce; and I've had its. tell me they were on 1 drug, when they meant something totally different
hey mkg. xoxox
