Have offered to help him write emails and all, but it seems he wants me to check in with him every hour or so and ask if he wants to do it now... or now... or now... Have held him and hugged him, but also told him that I am not responsible for how he is feeling. That I am there for him, but it is up to him to make use of that.

hi again, sorry had to help a kiddo. his family has washed their hands of him - they are basically ruled by him and his behavior They do not require him to do ANYTHING at home, including homework, and have very much let us know that from 7:30-2:30 he is our problem
and I dont know if we are doing Mindset directly, dos, but we are trying walks when he gets overwhelmed, social work support, and disciplinary actions when appropriate - which is pretty much every day. NO ONE here has had a kid like him in school, ever.

four of the paras have gone to administration to say flat out that they will not work with him. he has been moved out of one english class already, as he is so disruptive (reminder - it's november)

we have to have a loooong backlog of evidence before we can suggest outplacement, or there has to be a major infraction. keep in mind - if we outplace him, we have to pay for the education

the mother is high powered lawyer in the city. She blames us for "not implementing his plan correctly" whenever there is an incident. I fail to see how him drawing all over himself, making racist jokes, anti-semitic comments, and swearing every other word is US not implementing the plan....

the lead teacher is MUCH more experienced than I am, and she is as tough as nails. She is all about "natural consequences" with heavy documentation. We can show that we provided or offered every indicated support, and he accepted NONE of them. The natural consequence becomes that he fails.
