{{{{{{{sprite}}}}}}}} hellooooo my dearest friend. how are you today?
*hugs rose* Better than yesterday, for sure. And you? Less achey? And how is Don recuperating from his exercise?
all okay here thanx. had a quick appointment with GP. in view of my family history she thinks its a good idea for me to have a colonoscopy. when she asked how i felt about that, i said... very negative, thanks much for asking... loll
lol, I luvsya! But it sounds like a good idea. Horrible to go through but if it may catch bad things at a very early state, it might be worth it.
hmmpfff... and i thought you are my friend... :(
for always and ever, honey.
*giggle* tell you what.. i'll think of you every time i have to visit the inside-outhouse while i have to drink that revolting prep..
*smug* Of course you will. You think of me the whole time.
roflolll... too true. {{{{hugs}}}}
{{{{{{rose}}}}}}
am used to it, honey. Lots of people tell me their shit. Some think I am shit. I tend to bring out the best and the worst in people ;)
oh today our Aldi supermarket had the complete collection of Enid Blyton's Famous Five and the Secret Seven. i was there like a shot. great books for grandkids.
oh those are perfect books. I read them all. And the twins series too, I think.
i am determined to NOT buy Captain Underpants or Diary of a Wimpy Kid. too many classics around still.
grannies should give their grandkids the chance to connect with the classics. I think that is tradition. If not, it should be.
oh, did you?? did you also read the Adventures of the Wishing-chair, and the Faraway Tree.
speaking of which, I found a new word for our dictionary yesterday. firtue - righteous needle tree
not sure, I must look up the translation of the titles
oh my... lollll put it in....
the wishing chair had little wings on its legs, and flew the kids to all sorts of places.
and the faraway tree, had characters living in its branches and at the top, cloud lands came by every so often. i just loved imagining the scenes.
don't think those have been published here in dutch in my time. Don't ring a bell and I cannot find a dutch title for them either.
the firtue made me giggle, all by myself, lol
ahhh. what a pity.
yay me... I for once found the italian greeting without prompting! That bugger always eludes me.
well done. i miss the ch version all too often.
that was in yesterday's grid and lo and behold, I found it only after opening lickety.
I read and reread the twins series all through my youth. I so longed to go to st clare's. To be away from home and protected by a marvelous team of teachers...
bbs. time to get meds ready.
all good, honey, hurry back. And front.
both sides too... loll. back until dinner ready.
uh oh... beep from timer. got to go my darling. luvsya. xoxox
lol
enjoy your dinner, my dear friend. *hugs*

good morning - some strange words in this one
yes
just read the chat and have to say that medical care and doctor's calls in France (yes they still make house calls there) are cheap compared to Canada and penny ante stuff compared to the states.
I make house calls ; )
good for you kje --- can't get anyone to do that here
most geriatricians in US do - they are covered under Medicare for people who are "homebound"
pediatricians often do them also, for high risk kids or high utilizers where they are trying to get a better idea of what is going on
good policy for those who have medicare
hello babblers!
but in general, healthcare here is not great
medicare is going to be a blessing for me in a year
I had a friend who cut her finger down there --- doc wouldn't even look at her withoutk $300 up front, then it was another $300 for 3 stitches and to get them out a week later.
hello eva
ru! old enough for medicare! woohoo
I knew eventually you'd age into my clutches
ha.. dream on doc
me too, but have to sign up hubby for obamacare.
I will be elated to not pay Blue Shield $20K per year
the highest rated insurance in the US by its beneficiaries?
on the other hand, I got sick with an intestinal infection while in France -- one house call to the motel we were in and one prescription later the total bill came to 25 euros (about $30 USD at the time
yowza this thing i sgetting hard
yes - just listed with 35 to go and still not finding much
i hope kje is talking about the grid
I may list too, cyber - down to 30 and just not budging
or maybe take a break for more coffee
I'm down to 27 but slowing now

got it :) ty ru
down to 15.. but time to list i think
How do you know if it's pneumonia or a bad cold?
wd ru
if you are that sick and running a fever maybe you should see the doc anyway
a high fever and painful breathing is pneumonia symptoms
As far as I remember the difference between the two has to do with sputum color
I'm not always feverish but my heart seems to be really pounding on occasion
What sputum? I just cough and cough with no results
could be bronchitis too then
sounds like you could use antibiotics gramma.. best not to mess with it Pneumonia is awful.. i almost died from it once
I'm going back to bed again. Day 3 ugh. If I'm not on the mend tomorrow I'll go to the doctor.
I'm no doctor but I have had pneumonia. And if you don't have a "productive" cough it probably isn't pneumonia.
Okay thanks for the diagnosis. See you all tomorrow.
if you have had a constant dry cough, the membranes in your bronchial tubes could be inflamed -- try a cough suppressant for a while - hot tea or lemonade with lots of honey helps too.
the heart pounding is worrisome. i would see a doctor sooner than later
*but still see a doctor!!!!!
we like to keep our babblers alive gramma

lt's a film that won Awards but it put me to sleep instantly
keep it around if you're restless :D

I most often disagree with critics. I have been a slug all day -- sitting around watching movies.
never heard of it
I haven't either.

I watched "Sixth Sense," the latest Star Wars (terrible in my opinion) and a murder mystery.

I like the sixth sense
sorry for garble
l liked it too
I hadn't seen it before, ru, and I really liked it.

I am so disappointed in the recent Star Wars movies. I loved the first three produced. I thought the second trio was awful and this one isn't shaping up to be any good.
l never know what US films will show up here
i never liked any of the star wars movies.. they just seemed silly to me

Sounds good to me!
I make tomato jam in the Autumn (when I plant the right kind of tomatoes).
l can only grow cherry tomatos onmy deck; can't get down to the vegetable garden any more

I grow plum tomatoes for it. They have little moisture and a lot of flavor.

l'll try to plant plum tomatoes in spring, l have plenty of space
haha ru
I may go watch another movie before heading for bed and a book :D
Netflix?
Yes, or Amazon. That's what I've got :D
Got any suggestions, ru?
I'm reading "The Swan Thieves." A fascinating novel, especially if you are into art.
I don't know your taste in movies ori
They have Toastites n Amazon l think
Blood Simple is terrific
the Big Lebowski,
I'll check out "Blood Simple" and "Toasties." I've seen the Big Lebowski
