oh, oh, and for christmas my bros and their wives gave me two new roses. one is cream with a crimson edge on the petals, and the other is a lovely apricot. both smell heavenly.

yup.... we are currently planting all sorts of plants out in the front lawn. i hope to turn it into just one big garden with a small meandering path through it.

we have planted some trees which will become quite tall and shady. but they are still very small, only about a foot or so tall. i may have to splash out and buy some more established plants so that the smaller ones can withstand the heat and then the frosts of our winter.
takes time for trees to grow tall. Except poplars. But they might not be good for your climate, maybe
poplars do grow well here...but i was looking more for evergreens so there isn't all that leaf litter to clean up every year.

next saturday is going to be a sort of christmas/new year gathering with ALL my sons, their wives and kiddies. i am so looking forward to it. i am trying awfully hard to not feel hard done by them. every year i have to take the back seat to the wives families. i sometimes don't even get to see my own kids for christmas. sprite it is really very hard not to scream and rage at them.
i wish don would hurry up and finish the reno's. i could then ask them all here BEFORE christmas. we did it just the once after don and i were married. then don ripped out the cooker, and nothing has been done since.
am so sorry, honey. And Don needs to finish the renovations, stat. Taking way too long.
