happy new year, TO
though it's looking to be a tough year for me
nice smooth grid tho
down to 14
Hi all and brushy, I hope that the year won't be as tough as you fear - perhaps you'll be pleasantly surprised. I hope so.
Sorry Hurshy
Autocorrect strikes again.
redo
Oops - sorry.
well i'm divorcing, moving, and job hunting this year
And perhaps that will all lead to something amazing.
That sounds tough though. A lot to cope with at once.
perhaps. but adulthood has not generally tended to bring me amazing things thus far.
In that case, it's your turn.
not everybody gets a turn
crashing -- see you tomorrow :)
I realise that but you never know - I hope that new beginnings work well for you.
Night, nan, sleep well.
thanks
two more S and i'd have the whole edge grey!
found them! woohoo!

peeps talking about the new year and what they hopes it brings....as a lot of you know, I lost Hubby last Feb after nursing him for 2 yrs...well the past 10 mths have been good to me, have found a fantastic hobby (diamond painting - google it) and it looks like I could be getting a transfer to be closer to my youngest dtr...up and up
That sounds great diz - doesn't make up for losing your hubby. Does your daughter live in a similar area to you?
my daughter and both love diamond painting, I just finished a Harry Potter painting, and she is working on a Titanic painting.
diz, wishing you the best. I'm still trying to find my way and hoping the new year will show me. I lost my dad nov 17 and then my mom's brother on Dec 14th. Each day brings new challenges.
Liz, I am Campbelltown and she is Penrith 40 mins away by car - am in publis housing and could get a place near her.
I like the sound of diamond painting. That'd be great if you could be nearer to her.
Jessmom - wow somebody else does it, my sis got me onto it when hubby died and I freely admit I am totally addicted...lol
I googled it - I really do like the sound of it and might try it.
Time to go - Happy 2019 - I hope it brings the best for everyone.
yep, I've bought quite a few (too many!) but we have fun with it.
Liz, try little ones first AND check out different selling sights

Will do - thanks for the advice.

*hugs rose* Hello dear friend, once again a happy new year!
Hi Sprite and Rose! Happy 2019!
*hugs Kam* To you too, dear one!
s'okay. we did our second day in the hydro pool today. one more on friday. ~~~~HAPPY NEW YEAR~~~~ to you too...
oh, lovely...here's Kam. ~~~HAPPY NEW YEAR~~~~ to you and Michael.
gooooo rose. How about your prescription for the meds?
He has been Dad-sitting again. I miss him terribly
finally arrived today. straight to the pharmacy after hydro.
poor Kam :(
praise be, rose.
*sending hugs and kisses to Kam*
now i am well stocked with the oxycodone CR. *sigh* of course i won't need it from the 7th... loll. at least until i come home...
well, keep it at hand anyway. Unforeseen circumstances might make you grateful to have a small stock of it.
Better to have extra than to run out. My luck runs out tomorrow, doc isn't till Friday, and the pharmacy won't do same day fills now. I have to call around to other towns tomorrow and see if I can get a Friday fill.
yeah... mind you if the arthyritis in my shoulders starts up again, i am straight back on it...the infusions are really only to settle do4 the FM.
it is a battle, isn;t it, Kam?
'zacly, rose.
kam, my doc wrote up the scripts and they were faxed to the pharmacy.
Constantly, since the gov't started the new "war on opiates"
I can understand they don't want to make it easy to abuse it. But this is ridiculous.
Can't fax pain meds here. Gov't and companies have gone a bit off the deep end.
yeah, Kam. let me see some of them do without pain meds when they need them.
if they or their loved ones would need them, the rules would loosen miraculously overnight. Not wishing it on them, of course.
unchristian of me, but i do wish they could go through what we have to go through.
I have been trying so hard to cut my dose - and I have! But I can't help living in this body that hurts. I get ticked off because I have NEVER EVER misused my meds
experience is a VERY good teacher.
just for one day and night, rose. Just that. It would be enough.
kam, we have ombudsmen to appeal to. do you have anything similar?
My doctor tries to help. No one else wants to. When that lady crashed into me, I got nasty comments, and they didn't even know what they were talking about! I have a list of my meds and my allergies for emergencies in my phone.
*wriggles with anticipation* just realised it is only 3 days until don and i get together with my boys, their spouses, and their kids.
Nice!
lovely, rose!
kam, do you have anything similar to my ombudsman?
An ombudsman, ombudsperson, ombud, or public advocate is an official who is charged with representing the interests of the public by investigating and addressing complaints of maladministration or a violation of rights
No, nothing like that here. No one is going to advocate for me to have pain relief except my doc - and myself!
The gov't doesn't want anyone to have pain relief it seems. And some pharmacies are rejecting prescriptions because of "guidelines" - not laws, not rules, just "guidelines."
how can a pharmacy reject a doctor's authorised prescription. that's taking responsibility too far.
the pharmacy can ring the doctor and question him/her. but that's where their responsibility stops.
you might want to write a complaint to the FDA.
okay... getting off my soap-box.. loll. just saying i support you kam, and empathise with your frustration.
I agree, but their computer is programmed to reject over a certain amount. I tried so hard to get under that amount...almost got there, but couldn't function. Doc now puts all the codes and such on the Rx and still they won't fill same day. Being rural is half the problem - two small pharmacies were just bought by a big pharmacy, so it's crazy here. I already complained to the State, and the FDA doesn't give a hoot - they put out the "guidelines."
Sorry, I'm just ticked off.
publicity then. Get a big paper interested in the issue.
and you have every right to be, Kam.
of course you are. I'd be too.
or go on facebook?
It's a nationwide issue. People are dying because of the FDA
fireflies
easy grid. Quite a few boats :D
WTG SPRITE !!!!
and loch monsters too
WTG Sprite! I just got here, lol! I got the monster right off.
it gets a workout today, Kam :)
*hugs* to you both. And lotsaluv.
tomorrow is a june day. going for coffee only.
hugs andkisses darling sprite. luvsya heaps.
Serious summer envy here...we're just starting frosty nights
oh kam... you wouldn't want our weather. temp. today was 40C, 104F
we are expecting 42C on friday. (107.6F)
Hi - so glad I don't live in Melbourne! Poor you.
Always a tradeoff with weather! We get summer days like that - I can stay in till evening and still have light to go water when the sun drops. But, that *is* hot! I prefer hot to freezing, though.
Just a comfortable 27C here today.
sorry, dinner ready. xoxox
Enjoy
27C sounds perfect! I'm tired of layers upon layers of clothing!
Enjoy dinner, Rose
The climate here is much more moderate than in Melbourne - may get occasional days where it goes into the 30s and in winter during the day, doesn't go below 16C. Can be humid though in summer.
I've also got to go - going out for dinner with family. Have a good evening Kam.
Enjoy, Liz! Have a lovely evening
Liz... if you are still here... say hi to my kids for me.... oh and you two as well...lol
Hi - anyone know a Susan here?
kam, Hello
Thank you for your kind donation :)
l take oxy, too, but although the pharmacy is strict, the gov't isn't and they giveme asmuch as l want (need)
Advice needed. Travelling to Perth, Sydney and Melbourne this month. And cruising

Hey Bzzn and Welki
Good Evening Flask welki Bzzn
Nobody has spoken for hours.....it was almost spooky!...lol
Hi loredana
hi, loredana
so sorry havent been here that long
Have you all had a good festive season?
Very quiet here Flask have new puppies so they are keeping me very busy hope you enjoyed yours
tell us about the pups, loredana :)
what type of pups?
retired so decided to get dogs this time i have same little brother and sister malamute/huskies.
Wow! Are they not a handful?
you've had those breeds before? a little surprised that they'd do well in australia, they're such a cold-weather breed (and such runners!)
little is not the word they are 7months old and are the size of a german shepherd 33kgs cant remember pounds anymore
aussie bred ones have coats to insulate heat and cold would love to be in Canada in the snow with them though
malamutes can be really big dogs, bigger than huskies
that makes sense - if the coats can insulate against cold, they should against heat, too
yes its all worth it as they have unique personalities and the effort is worth it. Very popular in aussie many artic dog groups here so we all get together and have fun all very spoilt and live in air conditioned homes with swimming pools, grass sled parks etc etc
oh, they sound super indulged! i'll be sure not to tell their canadian cousins what they're missing :)
Sounds idyllic!
we've been dog-less for some time, now. it's very tempting to bring another into our home, but i've had new dogs come to me in winter and it's not easy training them
no they would not be impressed! the malamute was the original sled dog in Canada. Welki it just does seem the same without animals around i went one year swore no more now these two "fluffy butts" lol
sounds a bit like us - we've always had two, but will be downsizing in a year or two and we're partial to larger breeds (although we've looked after smaller dogs, too - guess nothing is written in stone *lol*)
and you're right - the house is empty without them
well i am signing off here dont get a lot of time any more hope to return tomorrow. Great to talk ladies take care and Happy New Year
bye, loredana - give the 'kids' a scratch for me :)
lol will do
bye loredana
Any clues for ha8/9...or even pu9 please?
ha 8/9 have to do with being severe or strict
ha8/9 is to make harden/rougher, builds off the ha5/14

pu is a word for being overly forceful or bossy

Hello, Ruru! Happy New Year to you :-)
nah I'll tough it out for 3 or 4 more hours
No worries, Harpjane.
you missed a joke the other day.. (you had just left) and someone thought it would have upset you.. I said you had a great sense of humor and you'd have laughed and fired right back
and a very happy new years to you too
Really? When was that? sorry I missed it. was it a good one?
And you are right it takes a lot to offend me. Maybe take away chocolate and I might get miffed lol
it was.. very funny.. but now out of context.. some new troll player called me on the carpet about it trying to pick a fight. I said that you were one of my favorite players and I'd never do anything to upset you and that you have a great sense of humor.
ha.. you're a chocolate person too.. my petsitter ate every piece of chocolate I have
Hi folks
((Ruru)) cheers chap. Sorry someone took you up on a joke. I like a good dry sense of humour. Could do more of it to be honest. It has been hectic around here recently. Dad just about two hours ago has come out of hospital after being re-admitted on the 24 December with partial heart failure. Lots of other complications too. so now wears a bag to do his number one in .
Hello, Origami!
hi all
Hello, Peri!
sorry to hear about your Dad, zooz. how is your Mom doing?
Hi zooz - sorry to hear about your father. I know he has had more than his share of health struggles.
Happy New Year to you both!
Hi Peri
Happy New Year to you zooz
that's a drag.. zooz.. it always happens around the holidays doesn't it?
Mother is nervous bless her and is still ill herself. It is very draining on us all but especially her.
Yeah it does, Ruru. Getting old can be a ruddy nightmare.
hi ori
Thank you, Origami :-)
at least he can change religions now zooz
Anyway sorry to have brought the convo down a bit. But I know you are all caring babblers. I told my dad about the good wishes people here have expressed over the days and he was really touched for someone who is a stubborn ole git lol
LOL
he sounds like a tough old bird your dad
Before they would let him go they asked him some questions tosee if he was of sound mind. One was what was it that people voted on regarding the EU. He said the stupid brexit crap. another Question was who is the head of the monarchy. He replied that old bag the queen.
I just had to smile and pretend I didn't hear him.
Zoom, sorry to hear about your Dad. Glad he is home. Also glad you have the sense of humor that "most" of us know you have. Your Dad sounds like a funny guy. That must be where you get your good sense of humor from.
Hi all. Sorry to hear your dads been so unwell Zooz. So worrying for you.
I have a great clue for wa7, does anyone need it? I'd love to give someone the clue
((Molly)) (( Lizlin)) Many many thanks it really is appreciated.
Ru handled the troll very well the other day. It was a funny comment.
(could I get a clue for wa7, please, Jane, I hear you cre....)
Fire away, Harpjane :-)
Go on then, harp. I’ll take a clue.
(cry)
What day was it. Maybe I could find it?
Site of the Mission Accomplished speech that GWB gave
NYE perhaps?
sunday the 30th zooz.
Will take a look..
(and the masses scream.....GREAT CLUE JANE!)
Sorry Jane. That clue is going over my head!
It was actually the 29th. And do a search for backwardsman, the latest fake name for the person who can't speak with their own voice.
Wow! Time passes quickly!
dang, I was so proud of myself.....
oh I thought it was uptheass man.. my mistake
🤣
it was backwards man
cat got your tongue liz? :D
Oh so it is the 29th instead. okay going back in.
Need my coffee. Not been awake that long.
Time for brekky. BBL to finish the grid. Have a good day, evening or night.
later liz
Just got Jane’s clue! Thanks :)
LOL I do like your sense of humour, Ruru! that made me chuckle for sure. Not sure why someone would take offense to to it though. sounds like this person just wanted to have a swipe at you for whatever reason. Like, Lizlin said well handled!
Lizlin I did say fire away as a sort of clue too :-)
thank you.. I thought it was pretty tame and funny at the same time. Like I said.. you are one of my favorite people here so no harm was intended
Wa7 compound word
Right time for me to retire for the evening. Need to read a chapter of my sherlock holmes book and then sleeeeeep. Happy babbling everyone!
