good morning all
Good morning to you!
*hugs Kam* Good evening, dear one. How are you today?
Long day, I'm tired - it's after 11PM here, lol! I miss Michael - he told his sister he is going home by Weds at the latest, she'll have to deal.
And how are you this morning? Relatively pain free and cheery, I hope!
ah good, at least the end is in sight.
bit of a bad night. Just awakened by my alarm and still a bit woozy. Pain is bad but yeah, am cheery ;D
No, not the end, just a break. No "end" till we can get dad settled in somewhere safe. I found a place that helps place elders in appropriate places - no charge.
ah, good for you!
Alarms suck. So does pain. *Hugs* - gentle hugs
thanks hun. OA meeting in a little while, not sure if I am gonna go. First coffee, methinks, lol... let's see if that makes a difference
Coffee is a must!
sure is. in fact, am gonna go downstairs and make me one. Brb.
back with a cuppa
I keep having trouble pudding the ta7 in .. :D
lol
I found the native american trickster animal :D
haha, ru
Tis bad luck if one crosses your path and looks back at you, sprite. We have a lot of them here...
phantom: serpent
didn't know that, Kam.
there used to be a lot of them around my old house up valley
I've learned a lot of Native American lore from my hubby and his friends. It's very interesting.
what Indians were up that way kama
have always been fascinated by it. Even studied for a few years with a shaman.
Miwok
we had the ahlone down here
Hubby grew up in Sonoma, and knows so much history. I love it when he finally opens up and talks about old ways.
I studied the ahlones in college
Thanks ruru for the 7
hiya peach *hugs*
Hey there, dear one. You OK?
That would be an interesting class. I'll have to ask about them, not familiar with the history of that area - I didn't leave Southern Calif until I was in my mid 40s
yeah, bit of a bad night. Otherwise I am fine :) And you? How are you doing today?
Sorry dear. I've had a painful day.....but oh, well. When the weather is wet and cold...worse then. Come to think of it...it's the same when it's warm and sun is shining brightly....LOL
aw peach :( *loving healing vibes to your aching body*
Honey, we have to tie a knot in the end of our ropes and hang on.....yep, that's right.
we will keep breathing and make it to another day ;)
Thanks for the vibes....they do work. So sweet of you.
we need a scotty to beam us over... then we could help eachother even more.

well I finally got into Babble, wouldn't load for me
Morning all! May I have stats, please for the I (eye)?
iO 6/21
Ta - looking. How's you?
So-so How are thing with you?
'bout the same. I have a nasty cough which kept me up last night :(
Oh yuck! Hope it goes soon for you.
Found the i - thank you. What's happening over there?
Weather wise not much cold and dank. Human-wise Parents not too good but would take an age to explain but we are getting there slowly :-)
It is cold here (I think - in truth, I'm not quite up yet) though fairly bright at the moment. Sorry to hear about your parents - I know it's tough.
True.Hard to watch loved ones become frail and ill but love is a powerful tool we have.
It is indeed. Jeff (my OH)'s mum is now in a home suffering with dementia - it's hard to watch. I lost my mum in 2014 also in the early stages - not fun, my heart goes out to you and yours
((Matty)) Thank you and to you too.
Have you found any 8s yet?
I have three.
May I have stats for one or more (especially ones that are 'real' words)?
EN 8/40 & 8/50 RE 8/60
Ta. I hate vowel words ;)
Yeah they can be very hard to find when twisty.
Not seeing them now, but they might become clearer when and if I list
En ends with trick or
Thank you! Grr at me ;)
RE to re-furnish with supplies say.
Hmmm. Homemade bread with marmelade delivered to me by Jeff. Luxury
Very nice! Hope you enjoy :-)
It is time for me to go. Happy baaling everyone! Hope you have a great day, Matty!
You too.
Babbling*
Thanks. *Poof*
That
That is funny. Change up a few letters and it is happy devil worshiping. : D
Molly, if you are still here, please tell me if there are 4 8's....I have 3 and can't see the other one. Thanks
Two en, One re and an se
Molly, I do see se8-40. It isn't listed in the top scoring words though. Thanks
Thanks hon.
I think it is not listed because the re7 has more points and Lickety only lists 3 top scoring words
Oh, didn't know that. Thanks
I have the other three 8s, now looking for that one - thanks guys
Found it - thanks!
Hi all.....could I please have a clue for re8 please.......Zooz'z clue didn't do it for me....
It's a plural and uses the high point tile
re + e word with high point tile
Got it guys!! Thankyou, I was going the wrong way completely......duh!!!!
That happens to me ALL THE TIME.
Champ I like your TENREC photo.
Thx. Haven't seen the word many times since I posted it.
It's actually kind of a cute thing :)
Very small, too. I amazed I saw it in the museum with all the other animals that were in the exhibit.
*I'm* ...duh!
The cutest animal I've ever seen has to be the prairie dogs at the San Diego Zoo. I can't think of the correct name for them.
They're fun too...popping up to say hi!
There was a whole series about them on PBS. Almost like a little sitcom.
If I'm feeling stressed then I just stick on an animal docu. and that calms me down....
I think they are the meerkats.
oh they're so funny....
moaner
oh thank you chrisk! I was racking my brain to think of that term. That meerkat show was sooooo adorable.
I love to watch them.
flask, I also watch animal vids for the calming effect. YouTube has so many cute kitten vids. The one with the kitten in the Kleenex box is one of my faves. He keeps popping his head up where the Kleenex is supposed to come out.
oh yes lil* they're great destressers for me!!
paps
There's other ones I like, the baby goats jumping on and off things for example.
those things amaze....and especially the ones on the cliff sides!
One of the best bird videos I have seen was shot in someone's back yard. A mother duck jumps off a drop into a pond and all the little babies jump right after her.
that sounds cool Molly...
Oh Molly have you seen the one where the mother duck is on a busy urban street, standing by a grate. All her little ones fell in the grate. Then someone figures out a way to get the out, one by one. It's so cute
get *them* out
If you do a Google search on "mother duck teaches her babies to swim" it comes right up. Animal instinct is amazing.
seen it....brilliant!
It's on YouTube.
spate
Oh the squirrels twirling on the rotating bird feeders are ep4 ! Love those too.
haha thanks for the clue Flask, I didn't have that! lol
yvw....but I really need to stop talking!

hi scrabs…..fine, here....hope all is well with you....

I wish we had a few feet of snow so I could snowshoe. I did hike yesterday.
Hi Miss2bit. Do you like your microscope? Using a microscope opens up a new world.

no sorry I already had the word
Science is a fascinating world. I just finished a jigsaw puzzle of the periodic table. Chemistry memories have returned.
ooh
And I went to Khan Academy to read some chemistry. Stoichiometry---a word I haven't hear in decades.
highly recommend The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean if you are looking for reading - a very readable history of discoveries of elements and various attempts to understand and organize the Table
Ooooh! Perfect. TY, Dan.
(more science history than science)
I see that Sam Kean wrote a kid's version of that book.
cool! ordering :-) I also read his Dueling Neurosurgeons about the history of brain "research". Gory but good
Hey Dan and Scrabs
I see that he wrote a few other books.
Hi Jen
hiya Jen
Hi Scrabs, just returned from Cambodia
Wow! Great time?
Superb
Favorite parts?
We also went to Viet Na. Angkor Wat comlex, cooking class, orphans who did traditional Cambodian dances and much more
I just looked up Angkor Wat--wow!
If only there weren't so many tourists there
Ha. Tourists ruin the experience of tourists.
We also saw "The Killing Fields", the Cambodian genocide in the lat 70's
:-(
Also went to a Cambodian school to help the kids with their English
My colleague's son has been in Taiwan for a year teaching English, after he graduated from college.

Happy Sunday all.. anyone know why a cursor arrow goes wild on the screen?
<---calling the game like joe Buck
I bought a new mouse, but that didn't help
every once in a while..they run a marathon aloy
ugh.. sometimes I just have to shut down and start over.. have learned that if I enter words in the Add Word box, the cursor behaves, but if I try Lickety Add, it may jump somewhere else.. annoying to be sure
and little bubbles appear on the screen, round but sometimes square.. scary
my cursor has been freezing on this game .. I have to have my IT guy come Tuesday to update everything
wish I had an IT guy!

I have just copied it and pasted in my Favorite Quotes folder.

There are too many smartass answers to that one. I'll pass and stop teasing you.

polyatomic anion
as everyone knows no doubt ... yw
I should have had that, since I'm a chemistry teacher. But I tend to get the old albanian currencies, and miss the polyatomic anions.
78 to go!
Being a chemistry teacher would help a lot with many of these grids!
one would think....
bbl!
Things like polyatomic anions is why I dropped chemistry in college. : D
I hear you Molly

one is the pudding
the other one is the dancer with metal on his/her shoes...much like trendy hi*****s of today

There is no joy in DC Metro-ville. Both our teams have struck out.
My only hope now is that someone kicks the Cowboys out of the race.
monkey yeah we just watched it
Really, Molly? They ran the ball back nearly 100 yds and they lost?
one of those st 5's ends in n what does the other end with having to do with bones?
I found another st 5 ending in e
The st5 is one of the ear bones, it ends with s.
Molly me too, I was rooting for Seahawks last night but the stupid cowPIES prevailed.
we didn't get to see that game but the scores was crazy back and forth. My husband is convinced the Cowboys are going to be in the Super Bowl. I just do not want the Poopriots in it(Patriots).
Going to go watch the next game bye!
Oh dear God, please don't let it be the Cowboys and the Patriots. I don't think I would even watch that game as my "I don't care" factor would be at Defcon 1.
thanks
So next week the PatROTs play the Chargers. GO CHARGERS!!!!!
oh haaaaaaaaaaaaaa I love the name POOPriots
Hey, I will be a bandwagon Chargers fan

ty Nan. Babble blindness is striking early tonight.
please bear with me, but I need to vent... just watched a news segment - stats canada spending money to analiyse poop at various city sanitation plants in order to determine the level of cannabis usage across the country. Now I ask you - are there not millions of causes our taxpayer dollars could be spent on for research? What is this world coming to? -- Call me disgusted.

At least they are not using those tax dollars to do actual harm.
