cooee my dear friend. how is the ankle this morning? xoxox
cooee my dear friend. how is the ankle this morning? xoxox
ugh. sorry. it looked like my post hadn't gone through
*hugs rose* Hello my dearest friend! It is bearable. We did a lot yesterday, went to see caya and took her out to dinner. It was wonderful. Getting around was hell though. Today I am due in the hospital for a swelling check and a talk with the surgeon.
how are you and Don doing today?
i slept in again..til nearly 10am. but we have had a most amazing day.
wtg on sleeping in. If you need it, you need it. Tell me about your day!
my neighbour, who for years has said she was an atheist/agnostic. for the last few years she has been coming to our community lunch. then she started to come to our church, after the service, to have a coffee with us, and some fellowship.
wow that is something! What was she, atheist or agnostic
?
then about a year ago she started to periodically come to service. and the last four months has not missed a service. attending meditation, bible studies, etc.
today, she was BAPTISED with me as her sponsor.
it was so moving. she kept saying, there is so much love around me here. she feels so accepted within our church community.
awwwww rose, that is so beautiful!
this lady is over 70 years old.
I am really happy for her that she found a home for her spirit with your community
it was beautiful sprite. i couldn't stop smiling. and i am so humbled. she told Raffaella it was because of my very gentle encouragement she wanted to make this step forward.
oh... wow.
btw, when son Simon and LU came to pick up the kids bags, Lu couldn't stop saying that they had told her that they had had the best time. still grinning over that...
hehehe grannyrose strikes again!
gently of course... *giggle*
of course :D
so now.... Lu feels very comfortable about leaving the kids in my care again. i have suggested at least twice/month. these parents so need some time out... and as i said to her, she won't allow me to help her any other way. i/we, as Don had so much fun with them too, am looking forward to the next time.
awesome. They are so lucky to have you. Rob and I would have killed to have parental support in this form back in da days.
the other grandmother can only handle one child at a time. i find that very strange. she does also have a husband to help her.
some people have trouble spreading their attention, honey. It is a good thing she knows her limitations.
awww honey.... but i didn't know you then... :-(
it is no biggie, don't worry. It is just a painful reality in our lives, that we do not have, nor ever did have, the kind of parental support/advice that in most families is common. I often tell people when they complain about how their parents want to butt in to any part of their lives, how lucky they are their parents actually want to.
we had the most splendid time with Caya yesterday. First we picked up a prop for their theater production in Rotterdam, then drove to her place, had tea, then left for a small and lovely italian restaurant that she had picked. We ate a beautiful dinner in honour of her 21st birthday. Laughed ourselves silly. She was radiant, so happy with it all.
my parents had two grandmothers willing and able to take care of us kids. grated there were 5... and come to think of it, i don't remember ever sharing my holidays with the grans with either gran.
sometimes it is wonderful to have some alone-time with grandparents.
oh my... it was her 21st ??? okay..... serious shopping trip about to happen. does she wear a lot of jewelry? i don't remember her doing so? does she like bone china/crystal etc ?
this is a one off birthday... it won't happen again... i would like to give her something she will treasure forever.
caya is very particular about the jewelry she wears. Subtle and different is the common thread, I'd say. We are giving her a signet ring of her own choosing and design. Awww that is so sweet! Best advice I can give you is to pick something and run it by her before buying it. I'd hate for your loving gift to be not what she would wear.
Hi and hugs and happy 21st to Caya. How are you both? How's the ankle doing?
okay will do. pleeeese email Tim's and Caya's email addies.
{{{{{{lizgirl}}}}}} lovely to see you. how are you two?
*hugs Liz* Thank you! Ankle is being a pest, but bearable. Yay for painkillers. Though I save the oxy for the night only in stead of taking 6 a day.
If you're looking for different jewellery Rose, there's a guy here who makes his own stuff. Very individual and usually around a sea theme. Mostly silver and silver / paua or opal.
I could give you the website.
well done sprite. like me, you are limited with the types of analgesia you can take safely.
That's a lot of painkiller - still better than suffering. We're fine, though I'll be glad when autumn is here.
thanx lizgirl, i would be most appreciative.
I'll do it now - email it to you.
ty very much
sprite, when we come over in May...about 2 months, how mobile will you be, do you think?
Sent - with a copy to you Sprite, though you probably won't receive it!
How exciting Rose - heading to The Netherlands again :)
received lizgirl. will wander through their site.
Enjoy - like I said, his stuff is pretty individual and I've a few of his pieces, though I don't wear much jewellery.
yes, lizgirl. we are spending 4 weeks there. catching up with sprite and Rob will be the highlight. i am also hoping to catch up with my 'cousin' and her family in Belgium.
Let me know if you find anything you like - I'm interested.
That's really lovely and I'm sure it'll be good for all of you but especially for you two.
yeah... it will be much more relaxed. one thing i want to do... is sit in a park with sprite and a packed lunch. if she's in a wheelchair i can wheel her everywhere. of course a bottle of vino will be a must... loll
Of course. If I'm slow replying, we're Skyping to the UK on a business matter.
sprite?? sprite??? SPRITEY ????? OH MY GOSH... i killed sprite...
lollll
did i just give away my addiction to Southpark?
sorry. Was emailing you the addresses then got sidetracked by bowel demands
and my two new grandkiddies are now in my contacts... lolll
sorry again. Using the toilet bucket next to my bed is quite the undertaking. Back with you now
awww... poor you... such an ordeal....
I have no idea how mobile I will be by then, rose. Will be able to tell you more after feb 28, the surgery. I expect I will be doing rehab excercises from that day forward, lol.
I swear, once I can move about, I am gonna take a shower for a full week, grin
Liz, the emails reached me just fine :) Thanks for your good wishes and for the jewelry link.
And back again - full of praise for the people we talked to.
Sprite, did you get the email I sent?
I love the idea of sitting in a park with you for lunch, rose. The wine sounds great too.
I sent from both of my addresses.
the icloud one comes through. The other one with your well-wishes came through too.
So glad the iCloud one is working now. Just resent the jewellery one from outlook.
OK - got to go. Good to have caught you and sorry about all the repetitive emails.
{{{{{{lizgirl}}}}}} enjoy your evening
Hugs to you both
lovely, thanks again, Liz. *hugs* to the both of you there. I checked out the jewelry quickly and I think Caya might like some of the paua shell things or mother of pearl. Hard to predict though :D I like what I have seen, btw. Very pretty and different.
after babble, I am gonna get dressed. Then more rest, lol, cuz getting dressed is another ordeal. And then I am gonna fix Rob's email on his new laptop.
yup. remember it well.... don dancing around me, saying what can i do now?
ugh yes. I am all alone today, Rob is at work. Will be home early though to take me to the hospital. Poor man is running ragged with all the hospital appointments and driving me and all.
btw, another email sent to you
ta honey... brb phone call
oooo one of my favorite words is in the grid today. Original meaning is 'having an ample bosom' and from there, hearty, healthy. Gotta love scots.
fireflies. Will wait until you are back from the phonecall
and back... my gosh my youngest could talk the leg off a billiard table... xoxox
WTG SPRITE !!!!
and now.... dinner is ready.... sweetest of friends... will hopefully catch you at the next flip. xoxox
enjoy, darling. Get back to me in email if you have time. *hugs* yo you both.

Hi Ruby
Hi molly
How are your hands today?
The brilliant sun deceives, it looks warm but the temp hovers around 40F
Hands are much better, so l'm (happily) back on chemo
lt was surprising how painful a small thing like that could be and impervious to morph, to boot.
ls your weater still bad? Or bad again? You'll probably have daffs surrounded by snow
We have had some very nice, Spring-like weather. But that is all going to hell tomorrow night when snow, ice, sleet and freezing rain return.
Ugh
I'm looking at it as another excuse to work from home. : D
Hot chocolate, nice fire, oh la la -- like "snow days" ijn
Binghamton
Would you like some Peppermint Schnapps in your hot chocolate?
5" of snow and they clossed the schools
l've never tried that but it sounds good
Ours would be closed for 5 inches. And rightfully so. There are too many lunatic drivers around here who do not properly maintain their cars.
gm everyone -may I have the stats for the 9
The problem with Bing<. was hills. The school buses

Hills are difficult to maneuver in the snow. And ice? Forget it.
were unsafe, those old "blue birds" if l'm not mistaken.
All the schools are closed today,Presidents Day
Our schools are closed for President's Day too. And good chance they will be closed Wednesday due to weather.
They should open the schools to dishonor the fat orange pig
Hello Bihon
bichon, sorry*
We have had a lot of good Presidents. This holiday is not just about Trump.
l know, l was just being facetious, and mean and nasty to live up to my rep
Should we start calling you Nasty Nell? : D
Morning all.
hi Bea, looks like everyone is buried in the grid
Ruby, soooo glad your hands are better!!

Any clues before I go?
yw, any more clues before I head out? I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my second grandson. My DIL is in labor right now
Congrats! Luv!
congrats luv!
Hope all goes well for them.
Easy birth for your DIL and congrats to you!
thank you everyone, yes I hope it's not difficult for her. They had to induce her labor and I know that's not easy on a woman
bzz...
luv that doesn't sound like fun
back.. adding my congrats and good wishes, Luv !
thank you Aloy :-)
was induced as my uterus lay there like a lox on a bagel... not fun but long forgotten
yes Mother Nature does a good job of allowing women to forget the labor pains.....otherwise there were be a lot less babies in the world!
and everything came out fine didn't it natasha?:)
I guess, at age 45, my uterus felt "surprised" to be finally asked to get up and DO something! LOL
See result in my little photo icon :-)
45 wow that is a surprise. My husband's mom was 40 when he was born but I've not heard 45 before
Natasha that is awesome i read your profile
my niece will be 43 when when her daughter is born this spring
luv my grandmother had my uncle at 40
I tell my story to give other women hope
And it was all natural!! LOL
natasha even more amazing! LOL
Someone actually asked me, "What method did you use"
I will always feel obscenely fortunate no matter what else happens in my life.
the one that was best for you..when my mom was in labor with one of my siblings she had learned to hypnotise herself
so i guess that birth is a blank to her
halfway:)
Very nice profile, Natasha :-)
Thanks Luv!
mrs2bit did hypnobirth - it was amazing for the early parts of labor
agreed luv
ok I'm off. Hope my grandson has joined us by the time I Babble tomorrow morning HAGD everyone
Have a wonderful, amazing day Luv!!!!
bye luv
dan did she hypnotize herself?
yes, although it really was more like deep meditation trance (at least from the outside)
dan does that mean she was more "aware" of what was going on?
i have to go will be back...
Self-hypnosis is a great childbirth tool. It has been used for a long time. I haven't heard the term "hypnobirth" before. I assume it is some new take on an old method. If done correctly, it can really ease some parts of labor.
Done! hagd all
nothing like a forgotten uterus
Thank you Dr. LaMaze
lol
I remember all of mine :D
maybe I should have used more !!! ?
hello again
gm mlf
I'm visualizing a bad, B-grade horror movie "Land Of Forgotten Uteri"
There is actually a medical term "lazy uterus" (or uterine atony for the more precise). It's when the uterus fails to contract after childbirth. (Which it really, really needs to do)
back.. how wonderful to be able to FaceTime - fun making faces at our grandson, lol
where do they live ohio?
no, they are in Phoenix
oh
bundled up today, temps in 50's
lol.. it's in the 30's here at night
gm ruru
(thinks Aloy.. should have done some Ohio winter this year)
brrr, happy to say it is Spring here - so many blossoms
no way, ru !
do you get gators near your pier aloy
alloy its nice here too but a little chilly
yes, we have lots of gators - we never feed them, so they are not aggressive
sunny finally here today.. might be nice for once
I guess swimming is out for you two around there :D
I would NOT swim in these waters, but the native neighbor's kids do... even after one of their dogs was eaten!
unbelievable.. no way I'd do that
did you see that story of the gator that came in a woman's house in the kitchen
well, one time I remember... on a kayak trip, way upstream in shallow water.. I did take a cooling water break with a bunch of others. Looked pretty safe.
do they attack kayaks?
no, I missed that story - was it recent?
having some connection problem, posting is delayed..
alloy posting in chat?
not working right..
agreed very slow
on5?

yes about six months ago
they must have left their door open

Fireworks. Well, that wasn't too awful.
Holiday today. Although, I should do something to justify my existence. Started tax returns this weekend, even though it's my husband's turn to do them this year. Why? Why am I so selfless?
Off to find something to do (like escape the house).

are you drowning in napa, ru?
not yet.. but almost.. animals are walking around in pairs down here
lol -- we keep seeing news of floods and mud slides
we got 5 inches of rain in one day last week
and 3 inches the day before
don't know if that is better or worse than 10" of snow
yeah.. my realtor sent me photos of the island.. amazing to see that much snow up there
yes - it is rare for the island to get snow and rare for us to get snow that stays on the ground for more than a week
ne 6/18 following the vegas lights, please?

Evening all! May I have stats, please, for the lone A in the first column and the O next to it?

Ditto. Thanks, nan!

*!*~*!* Any clues wanted before I leave?
Good god, I now have all the vowel words. Hurrah! Nan, may I have STATS for the 9, please?
te 9
May I have the points as well, please?
te 9/54: part of a 7,9,8 series
Lovely, thanks. Shall look!
shout out if you need a clue
Will do! Only thing I shall ask is are they 'real' words?
well -- the 7 and 8 are -- the 9 is a little iffy
'A little iffy' - the definition of the Babble/Enable word list!
they are derivatives of the "up tight" te 5
Still looking! I think I know the 5 you mean, though, so that should help.
Found it - thanks!
on my way, so if you want a clue now....
All good - have a great day! Thanks again
good :)
bye everyone
Hi. Got the te7 and 8, but not seeing the 9. Clue please?

Both start the same. Only difference is last letter.

3 words direction - like
ood on you.
Good on you. Anything else. Crazy cat.
i miss my cat, so i shall enjoy yours!
the first te7-8 combo? not the 7-9-8.
Just cat sitting here, more of a dog person. But this one is like a dog, I have trained him to sit. :)
See the 5 before it, add the 'doer' suffix & pl
