haven
Hi all and hugs Rose
haven't seen sprite for ages -- hope she is doing ok
she is doing quite well. surgery went well.
When did she have the surgery?
Glad that it went well.
couple of days ago now, lizgirl. she has both feet in plaster.
I thought she only broke one ankle. Why 2? Poor Sprite.
the left one because of the surgery, the right one to give it some support as she needs to walk on it and it is badly bruised.
That makes sense but must make life pretty difficult for her.
yeah.... and they are both different colours...the plasters, not her feet...loll
Well, different colours is fun. Did Sprite get to choose the colours?
don't know. i am thinking she may have discussed it pre-op.
And how are you both?
i do know she is looking forward to her first shower...
I can imagine!
we are coping okay. don is doing well, actually getting the last of the brick chimney out, bit by bit. he tries a little each day. my lower back hates me, but i am booked in the 1st April to have those nerves killed off again.
That's quite a time to wait but I guess that fits in with your big trip.
yup. trying to have everything in order before we go. knee, lower back, hair, gp review, feet.....
oh and dentist....loll
There's always a lot to organise before travelling.
But it's fun watching those things get ticked off as they're completed. It's like a countdown to the day you leave.
Oh! I just noticed I got all the 6s!
we are both looking forward to the trip. just taking our time, doing lazy stuff like a picnic in a park, a walk along the beach, canal ride around bruges
yay lizgirl. good job
Sounds lovely.
we have done quite a few of the touristy stuff. we now want to feel the ambience of the two countries.
Bit of a change from yesterday's grid.
I sure that you'll have an amazing time.
Fireworks
WTG LIZLIN !!!

WTG RBUD!!
Hugs to you and to Sprite when you see her. Glad her op is over. Congrats, Rbud.

WTG GAPEACH !!!
good morning all
*thanks Liz for her hug and loving thoughts*
{{{{{spritey}}}}}}} how are you this morning?
*hugs rose* Not too bad, honey, thanks. How was your outing?
really great. terrific food. i had a steak... and Don had.... yup, chicken parmigiana.....loll. AND.....
sounds delish
there was SANGRIA on the drinks menu.
i ordered a jug of it....
yesssssss
and did a toast on me
for dessert we both had an icecream sandwich. it was made with chocolate/malt biscuits, and drizzled with salty caramel. i wanted to lick the plate but Don said no. ;-(
silly don. That is what those plates are for, right?
honey, it was nowhere near the quality of yours. and yes, there was a toast to the hostess with the mostess.
very good. And we will have lots of sangria when you are back here, no worries.
*HUGE GRIN *
am gonna put out an order at Patricia's for all the ingredients, plus a good icewine.
you had better lend Don your wheelbarrow to take me home in...
hehehe we will find a way. One of us can drink soda and drive you home
oh we are gonna do some planning too, right? Things to do and see, places to visit, things to eat...
That's why God invented taxis ... for a safe ride home.
no, no, no.... only if the planning involves picnics, quiet walks, some window-shopping... oh, and will the tulips still be in flower?
people to visit, maybe... we could visit caya maybe, or she can visit us.
yup, sounds good.
hiya Christine, indeed. Or the designated driver. If I drive, I do not drink. Simple as that.
I forgot the dates... sorry honey, narcose-induced memory loss, lol. When are you coming again?
and i really would like to find my great-grandfather's grave> i am going to email Els and see if we can hook up with her properly this time.
is Els the one I found for you the last time?
we are spending 2 days in Dubai, then on to Amsterdam, landing on the 1st for 28 days and nights.
1st of may?
yes she is.
yes, May 1st.
awesome! Miracles happen. I love it. Must be great, to be able to meet up with her. Should be doable with a whole month to choose from.
it is late for the tulips, but not altogether too late, I think. You should be able to see some fields still in bloom. We'll see if we can visit the Keukenhof, if that is still worth doing by then.
Tim's birthday is on the 25th and I think he will be in the netherlands then. We can take him to dinner around that date, perhaps. And Caya and Lisa too, of course.
darn, no hosanna
okay.... it's no biggie really. i just want to be able to see the Netherlands through your eyes. what you see when shopping, your beaches, gardens...
oh, and that cafe/restaurant with diabetes on a plate...
I want to take you guys to Giethoorn. The little venice of the netherlands. It is quaint but soooo lovely.
lol which one was that... the one where we had your farewell dinner?
no, where we had those little pancakey things covered in butter and sugar
ohhhh right, poffertjes! Sure, we will take you to a poffertjeskraam too.
almost afraid to ask.... pofferwhats?
flowermarket and Albert Cuyp market too, maybe, you would love them.
lovely.... now you've the idea.
that is the name of the pancaky thingies. Poffertjes. And a 'kraam' is a stall, or temporary restaurant. So, a poffertjeskraam is a place where you can eat those pancaky thingiewhatsums
roflolllll... thank-you so much for the explanation.... *happy sigh*
let me know once you picked dates with Els and planned your belgium adventures. Rob and I will plan around all that, just let us know. It is gonna be awesome.
it sure is gonna be awesome. oh and Don would like to pop over to scotland for a few days to see his cousins again. that is still to be organised.... i just have to keep prodding his memory.
oh wonderful idea! Are you gonna go with him, or are we gonna spend those time together and let Don do his thing?
those days, that time, lol. I really english very good
not sure yet...i would like to see Helen again. she is so lovely. but as i said it will only be a few days.
hallo!
hi Harry
g'day HH
hi gr, sprite :)
rose, sweetie, either will be great. Just let us know. We are gonna make your stay just as memorable as last one.
yesterday, ruru and I were in the grid and today it is Don :D
loll...yes he is.
nice to see you all - gotta get the kids up and out. last day in jerusalem and we must shop.
in Giethoorn, there is this shop with lovely jewelry too... semi-precious gemstones and stuff. Should be right up your alley.
lovely to see you HH. enjoy your last day there. has it been quite safe for you all?
have a good day then, Harry, enjoy your last day. I hope you will be safe.
yes, amazing. just a 10 day trip this time. back to reality tomorrow morning.
okay.....makes a note, no more spending in ozland for 2 months. gonna save up my kitty for the trip.
good luck with facing reality, lol. The good memories should help.
good day :) bye!
hehehe good girl, rose!
any wishes from Don's part? War museum? Other stuff?
red light district?
did i tell you my 3 new swimsuits arrived? i forgot i had ordered extra loud patterns and colours...
yes, you did. I love it that you picked the loudest you could find. That is the spirit.
roflollll.... just asked him....told him he could look but not touch....
am sending up a prayer to the Big Guy that my plaster will be off by then and I will be allowed to drive! Would't that be splendid?
*giggles*
it would be wonderful.
i also told him his hands would be tied behind hid back... or maybe sown into his pockets.... roger may need company.... was that TMI?
for some reason, the red light district is quite the touristic attraction. Personally, I feel sad, seeing so many women selling themselves. Just as many personal dramas there as women. Or men. So sad.
lololllllll god I luvsya, silly woman
it is sad re the women who work there. i often wonder if another option was offered to them, would they take it ?
lolll... he's still sitting here with a rather silly grin on his face.
depends. Often, there is an extreme low sense of self value, and they feel like they do not deserve any better.
also, the pimps rule with hard hands...
and, of course, it is 'easy' money... plus most hookers are addicted to drugs or booze or both, and they need money to sustain their addiction, which complicates things even further.
maybe we can offer them an alternative also...with their organisational skills...
that's the really sad thing about the whole business.
it would have to be one where they can earn as much money then... and with as little work... It is quite a complicated matter.
yes it is.... and it is the oldest profession, it is said.
fireflies
not true. The oldest profession is apple picker :D
WTG SPRITEY !!!!!
hahaha !!!!
Rob is gonna take me to the meeting this morning. So grateful :)
bless him, and bless you too. honey, i am so looking forward to seeing you again. just over 8 weeks now.
honey, time for me to get ready. It was a delight to be able to catch up with you this morning. We will see eachother next grid, I hope, and maybe in email. Cannot wait for those 8 weeks to be over! But lots of healing can take place in that time, so that is good. *hugs* and lots of love, to the both of you.
and to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
HUGS AND KISSES IN ABUNDANCE.

The Sunshine is beautiful, but cruel. lt gives the illusion of warmth, but it's, still too cld o sit outside, even on the deck in th un
sun*
I don't think it's too cold here, though I must shower and dress to be sure (lazy Sunday morning)
And on that note, as my bladder is murmuring at me to get up, I shall do that thing and shower and dress - more on the clean side!
lt's still in the high 20's at night, but warms up to 40 or 50
Farenheit, it must be near 60 today here near Windsor

Sunday grettings, Babblers.
Well, FW. That wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be.
Hi Judi how are you?
this grid is making me feel much better about my Babbling ability, after yesterday's impossible grid!
yesterday's was very tough.. but not impossible
I thought it was close to impossible
today's is "easy-peasy" :D
Yesterday's was full of so many ridiculous words that I stopped doing it because it was no longer enjoyable. Today's was much more reasonable. I don't mind searching for words, as long as they are words that make sense.
very true..
FW for me!
Easy-peasy for ru but not for me!
Bon soir, everybody
bon soir
yay fw without clues or listing!
a s
That was a joke ruby
fireworks!
Believe it or not, onset was the hardest word for me to find. I just can't see words that are spelled out in a curl.
i wish there was a football game on..
I wish there was normal weather. Now that we are all done with snow, we have 55 mile per hour winds and threats of downed trees and power outages.
