when he called me to let me know where he would be spending the night, he knew damned well I would not be bailing him out. I assumed he was at fault. He told them he was an insulin dependent diabetic and needed his pump from his truck. Cops got his backpack, but pump was not in there. They made NO attempt to get it, nor inform me that he didn't have it. Just figured he'd be okay without it.... NOT!
Fortunately, as quickly as things can go south for a diabetic, they can recover quickly with proper care... He is ok
Thank goodness he's young...they bounce back. The police will need to make changes to their protocols. Talk about mishandling a situation!
I hear about people dying in police custody fairly frequently; this time it struck home. He literally was not at fault. He had 3 beers, was not even attempting to drive his truck and there are no prohibitions posted against alcohol at this park. He literally almost died because a mom of a middle school kid didn't want her kid to see beer at the park (she even stated that there was no disturbance of any kind)
Exactly! There are miscreants and criminals galore out there and this dumbass (yes, he is a dumbass) could have died over 3 beers!!!!
