One of many words that make me dislike the Enable word list. It is fun and a challenge to find "recognizable" words in these grids. Randomly finding words that mean nothing to most people seems pointless.

Any identical twins on here or geneticists? Got my dna results back (87.6% Scots-Irish, which I figured), but it also identifies people in their 23andme system who are genetically related. So here's the deal: My grandma was an identical twin. She and her sister's kids are (genetically speaking) half-siblings. One of those kids (my dad's first cousin) is showing up as my half-sister. How is that possible unless there was an 'oooopsy!' moment?

The overlap in DNA is actually a wide range, and so my brother and I can show up as having 0% overlap in our DNA (not related), or 100% overlap (identical twins), or anything in between. On average, we should show up about 50% overlap.
ruru - lol! nrkii, please do. I'm guessing it's legitimate because of the identical status, but the identified 'half-sister' is my dad's first cousin (they are genetic half-siblings)

What amazes me about it is that you could have a sibling with 0% overlap, even though you share the same parents. It would be a one-in-a-billion chance, but it's scientifically possible.
I figured this all out a month ago, when my brother and I showed up as 48% overlap, and I had more distant cousins show up as having more overlap than my 1st cousins.

yes, it must work for some people, i'm sure...my brother's girlfriend ( she's 75 !) is on her 3rd hip replacement and not doing too well so i'm leary about these kinds of surgeries...
I have a bad hip and have no interest in replacement surgery. It seems barbaric to me.

I have arthritis too in my right knee and lower back but little pain
