I have seen it for a while when I log into Babble it says Not Secure
First time for me. I was away and had the computer turned off; meanwhile the power went out in the neighbourhood, maybe that was it for me.

Babble has been "not secure" for some time. It has to do with people posting email addresses. Old code reads that as spammers.

Does the "not Secure" notice mean the site is truly not secure, or is that just something flashing up because of the email addresses?

The not secure means that the website isn't using https. Theoretically it's possible that someone could steal your babble password if you log in from a public hotspot (but unlikely)
It's kind of a long, complicated, tech geeky kind of answer to the not secure thing. I heard Dr. God was working on getting a security certificate. It is never safe, nor a good idea, to post your email address on a public website such as this.
it has nothing to do with posting your email address. It's the login form that isn't using encryption. It's something only banks and similar websites were using until a few years ago, now the browsers warn users to try to get every website to adopt encryption
if you're not using the same login/password combination on another website, the only risk you have is a hacker playing your daily babble before you do
i actually got a threatening email from some jerk who got my email address here and password and has off and on been harassing me

hrm. I just checked. If you say you lost your password, the website sends it to you. It means they're not hashed, and that if someone hacks the website or the host, they can get the passwords for every single account (although that takes some serious hacking)

That's interesting ruru. I've had similar. It really shook me up that he had my password. I used to use the same password a few years ago for a few different sites. I hoped that rather than my ipad having malware it was a website that had been hacked to obtain my email and password. Maybe it was babble.
Well a lot of big websites have been hacked over the years, so a lot of accounts and passwords even have been stolen and sold on the black market
if you go to https://haveibeenpwned.com/ you can put your email address in, and if you had an account on any of the big websites that were hacked, associated with that address, it'l tell you

Folks, you are taking a big risk entering your email address on any public website. I realize that in the days of Facebook, it seems foolish to say "be careful with your personal information" but you really should be.

we have an outdoor pool year round heated to 82 degrees. and the steam rises from it when it is cold but it is so nice on sunny days to swim outdoors even when it is cold. but i think it might be too cold where you live to do this.

Ru currently lives in California. Not too cold at all. An outdoor pool heated year round in this area is a luxury.
mine is solar heated.. only available to me May-October
it would cost me a fortune and a half to heat it year round
My boss...aka the slave driver...lives where mkg lives. It's a high dollar area.
we have our pool heater set on 87 right now but my kid said it was cold. it is cloudy and cool today, so that probably makes it worse. it is very expensive to heat, so we only run it right at the beginning of the season and maybe some at the end.
