you should hear the stink they are making before this Lord of the Flies test! The issue: if they get 100% on the vocab, they get an automatic 100 for the test. You would THINK they would realize what a HUGE gift this is. Instead? Straight up pleading and demands that we check the vocab section before they do the rest of the exam, so they "dont have to try"
This year I have mostly freshman, but I am helping out with three other classes that have juniors and seniors as well.

was just outside checking my big long spliced leaky hose that's running from the pump below my house off into the ravine in the woods by us - flooding and saturation is a major problem around here.
yesterday we had two trees come up out of the ground along the property line between us and the railroad - they fell on a little shop building we have, and also on the power line to our house. RR crews took care of it all, thank goodness. Electricians, too - it pulled our meter off the wall of the house.
All better all in one day. Great what can get done by people with the right connections!

The fireworks are still there, but it useed to play a cute or funny video as well...hasn't done so since I returned from my leave of absence though. I guess a lot happens in a decade.
I don’t remember any cute videos; but I do know that the current fireworks are a lot better than the older ones.
I was gone for a long while...most of my family (in my profile) played together when our kids were 10-15. Then the kids developed a bad case of homework/college, and I was working two jobs. My sister played for a few more years, but dropped out too. I came back a few months ago, but several ofthe people I used to chat with have passed away, so it isn't the same. Caht used to be going solid 24/7, with 4 or 10 conversations all going at once. We laughed, cried, grew, and helped each other every day. Now I'm surprised to see the same person on here as yesterday, and chat is very on and off.
