2:32 am

Hello :-)

2:32 am

Oh, hi there, zooz. How are you?

2:32 am

Congrats, Peach!

2:32 am

And how are your parents too?

2:33 am

I am still plodding along. Hope all is well with you :-)

2:34 am

Oh don' ask, liz lol it is a ruddy nightmare. one health problem after another. lol

2:34 am

That’s so tough - for you and them.

2:34 am

But at least the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day!

2:35 am

How are you, Liz?

2:36 am

That’s lovely. We’re fine. We had an amazing holiday in Washington DC, Ireland and the UK - it was very good to get back home though.

2:36 am

Ah just got the RE 8 you were cluing earlier. Thank you!

2:37 am

It is always nice to get home again no matter where you go. Nice to hear you had a great time, Liz!

2:37 am

I clued an re 7 - If there’s an re 8, I’ll happily take a clue.

2:38 am

Sorry RE7 oops.

2:38 am

Ireland is so beautiful. I can’t believe I never went there when I lived in London.

2:38 am

Yw :)

2:38 am

I have never been either and I also have lived in London lol

2:39 am

If you can get there, you should. The coastal scenery is stunning.

2:40 am

I have seen lots of Ireland on a TV called coast to coast and yes it is stunningly beautiful!

2:41 am

Were the cherry blossoms out in DC when you were there?

2:41 am

More so in real life! I’d seen the coast on TV programmes and in movies but it was way better than I’d hoped.

2:41 am

No Peach, we missed them. We were only there for a couple of days for my step-daughter’s birthday.

2:42 am

Perhaps you will come back in the spring.....they are lovely.

2:43 am

I’ve seen photos - I think we only just missed them. We were there in the first week of May.

2:45 am

My youngest daughter went to school in Dublin during her senior year in college and fell in love with a Prof. who was old enough to be her grandfather...but she did love the country and has been back several times. I can understand the lure of the country (by just looking at pictures though).

2:47 am

Well, dear friends, my critter is about to stomp her foot....she wants her food, so I will say Bye for now. Blessings to you both.

2:47 am

Sleep well Peach

2:47 am

((Gapeach)) Take care.

2:56 am

My time is up. If you are still here, Liz Have a wonderful evening! Happy babbling everyone!

2:56 am

Enjoy your day Zooz.

My first was 14 mths old when my second arrived. That was tough enough. But when number 3 arrived , the second one was just gone 3 & became a holy terror. My sympathies to your SIL!

8:29 am

yeah, it s bad.

8:30 am

I managed to squeeze the second baby in before my then 23 month old really knew what was happening, so we skipped the holy terror phase. We lucked out! She doesn't even remember not having a brother.

8:31 am

so here's the excitement here today - I bought a NEW couch. As in - no one has EVER sat on it before me. For most people that is a given and no cause for comment, but for me it's a huge deal. I don't buy new things - ever - so this is a real first

8:31 am

you were lucky there mael!

8:31 am

I remember secondo having ONE day where she pouted and fussed about tertiare arriving, but other than that it was all good.

8:32 am

mine are 5 1/2 years apart. Son in school. That was helpful

8:33 am

lol bichon, indeed! Primo was more than happy to get on the bus and leave all the female noise behind.'

8:34 am

Lol Mael. I was wondering where you were going with 'I managed to squeeze the second baby.....'. Trif, I fully understand your excitement. Very little Chez Soodle is not 'pre-loved'. (Ridiculous term for second-hand).

8:35 am

I knew you would understand, soodle dear. we are such kindred spirits

8:35 am

I did that too, soodle, all 9.5 pounds of him. ;)

8:41 am

I am meeting an old friend for dinner tonight, with his wife, who I have never met. They are both victims of the Thalidomide scandal of the early 60's. My friend has no legs, and his wife has no arms or legs. This will be interesting.

8:42 am

oh wow. those poor people! what a miracle they found each other though....

8:43 am

They met through a support group. I'm very fond of him. I'm quite looking forward to meeting her.

8:46 am

Signing out now. Thanks for the chats!! Enjoy your new couch, Trif. Have a squirm in it for me. 😊😊😊

9:44 am

Most of civilization is on vacation next week. Should be quiet in the business world.

9:45 am

i'm taking most of next week off .. it will be dead in my business

9:46 am

Feeling uncivilized (because I won't be on vacation).

9:46 am

back for last 86 later

9:46 am

My office is closed Friday, so I get a long weekend. I didn't have anywhere to go so I didn't want to burn three vacation days for the whole week.

9:47 am

But my husband will be putting together a gazebo for our back deck. So, we'll probably be fighting over that.

9:47 am

Gazebo Fighting. It's the new Kung Fu Fighting.

9:47 am

It's supposed to be about 90 deg. this weekend too. So, we got that going for us.

9:49 am

11:37 am

nm - got it

11:47 am

I read 12 chapters of a book last night. Havent read in a long time. Was a nice feeling. I need to get a chaise chair for the yard so i can read out there

11:50 am

And what are we reading so voraciously?

11:50 am

The Stand

11:51 am

love the movie, cant wait for the tv series but always wanted to read.. im reading the extended version.

11:51 am

Excellent read! One of my favorites!

11:52 am

i was surprised how the writing is different than the normal King works.. i mean you can see his work in there but the writing is somehow different

11:52 am

That is one of King's better books.

11:53 am

im really impressed so far.. i enjoyed reading IT but the writing was. idk... but im enjoying Stand more so far

11:53 am

I also bought a book called "THE EVIL QUEEN" ... snow white but from the queen's perspective...

11:53 am

I've always thought so. Wasn't that one of the first they made a movie of and he had say over changes to the script? I think it's one of the better made of his story adaptations...

11:54 am

I'm interested to see who they cast in the 10 episode TV thing.

11:54 am

i really enjoyed the new version of IT and am looking forward to the next one. I havent seen dark tower yet.. heard it was bad.. castle rock on hulu is ehhhhh

11:55 am

The Stand was a mini-series on TV in 1994

11:55 am

great miniseries.... but didnt have ennough context

11:55 am

gary sinise, molly ringwald, ruby dee, rob lowe.. a pretty good cast

11:56 am

I am so-so about the new version of IT. I'm not big on film makers re-writing stories. I felt like Annie Wilkes in the movie theater. HE DIDN"T GET OUT OF THE COCKADOODY CAR!

11:56 am

In June 2019, James Marsden, Amber Heard, Whoopi Goldberg, Greg Kinnear, Odessa Young and Henry Zaga were all in consideration for the roles of Stu Redman, Nadine Cross, Mother Abagail, Glen Bateman, Frannie Goldsmith and Nick Andros, respectively.

11:56 am

The Dark Tower. 6 Books long and I read it hoping things would get better. Pretty much when I stopped reading King voraciously (every time a new one came out).

11:56 am

Yes, Molly! Exactly!

11:57 am

ive been avoiding dark tower because it seems boring and about cowboys which i find tedious lol

11:57 am

*flashes back to Cujo, book vs movie*

11:57 am

Did you hear the sound of me, fainting? I absolutely cannot handle Whoopi as Mother Abigail. *Prays for Viola Davis*

11:58 am

lol yes... cant see whoopi play a 108 year old woman.. she did play God in a muppet movie once but didnt sell it.

11:58 am

marla gibbs!

12:00 pm

No one will EVER play Tom Cullen like Bill Fagerbakke. He was born for that role, like Michael Clarke Duncan was born for John Coffey.

12:01 pm

M O O N that spells Moon

12:02 pm

The only thing about Dark Tower is you have to have read just about everything he wrote prior to that series because he references so many little things from all of his previous works.

12:02 pm

oh dear.. i googed Bill Fagerbakke and the first thing I see is "Bill is most known for SpongeBob SquarePants"

12:02 pm

Oh interesting. They are thinking about Aaron Paul for Randall Flagg

12:02 pm

I had no idea BillFagerbakke was Patrick in Spongebob

12:02 pm

not a bad pick, arron paul

12:04 pm

Looove Aaron Paul!

12:05 pm

*raises hand* Concur!

12:05 pm

jo 5/20, pls

12:06 pm

you can either bend it or smoke it, bichon

12:06 pm

If anyone watched LOST...I think L. Scott Caldwell (she played Rose) would be a great Mother Abigail.

12:07 pm

Lost fanatic

12:07 pm

missing one n and 7 t's - back later

12:07 pm

i still cannot get into lost which saddens me

12:07 pm

ty amelu

12:08 pm

ask me how many times I've watched it

12:09 pm

I rue the day I ever started watching Lost. Worst finale ever and I felt I had wasted at least 2 years of my life (the first couple of seasons were still good). I'm still very bitter about it. LOL.

12:10 pm

Last season was really bad, but I loved the rest

12:10 pm

people hype up finales...they always end up ehh or bad.. roseanne, seinfed, cheers, the sopranos, lost

12:11 pm

im going to be very disappointed in Supernatural's finale next year... however Once Upon a Time's finale was pretty satisfying

12:11 pm

agreed there is a lot to live up to, but Lost is the absolute worst ever IMO

12:11 pm

I was bitter about the LOST finale and bitter about the Game of Thrones finale. Both examples of writers crashing and burning at the end of a once good story.

12:11 pm

I did not watch GoT but my husband complained about this whole season

12:12 pm

Fringe...great finale. Breaking Bad...great finale. Some writers know how to take it home.

12:12 pm

Well, writers thinking they're gonna go on forever and finding out funding is being cut then scrambling to tie up loose ends in any way justifiable...

12:12 pm

dinosaurs' finale was absolutely heartbreaking for a children's show

12:12 pm

concur with breaking bad, absolutely

12:13 pm

Fring was 5 season strong, have rewatched it several times

12:13 pm

I loved Fringe but I can't rem. the finale at all. So it must've been good and not horrible.

12:13 pm

A good TV writer always has an end game in mind. TV shows do not last forever.

12:13 pm

I need to do a rewatch.

12:13 pm

I just rewatched Fringe and the last episode never fails to bring tears. Some sad, some happy.

12:14 pm

Walter saves everyone

12:14 pm

supernatural is doing it smart by making God the villain in the final episode and having God undo everything the Winchesters did in the past. Should be one hell of a finale

12:14 pm

tag line for the series final season: "God was never on their side"

12:14 pm

I re-watch Fringe on a regular basis, just so I can relive the days of Walter Bishop. One of my all time favorite TV characters.

12:15 pm

i should give fringe another chance

12:15 pm

netflix hulu or prime?

12:15 pm

I am so behind on Supernatural. I got more than 5 episodes behind on CW app so then I decided to wait for the whole season to be on Netflix and that may have been 2 seasons ago. Need to catch up!

12:15 pm

You and my son.

12:16 pm

Fringe is on Prime. It's with the IMDB stuff so you have to endure a few commercials.

12:16 pm

the most recent season is now on netflix hokie.. u can get caught up before september!

12:16 pm

Truth! Should already be an outline from beginning to end. I was told it was left open because George R.R. Martin hasn't finished writing all of it. Haven't researched but that's what happened with the wheel of time, Robert Jordan developed a blood disease and didn't finish his work.

12:16 pm

oh i use the imdb stuff they have good movies!

12:17 pm

there is a good website you can search for where stuff is streaming. justwatch.com

12:17 pm

Martin is all set now. No matter how he ends his story it will be 8 million times better than the crappy TV ending.

12:17 pm

it said imdb tv, which I was like wut. didn't realize that was part of prime

12:17 pm

thanks hokie!

12:18 pm

np! we cut the cable a few years ago and I find that website incredibly useful.

12:19 pm

I use Hulu Live for cable...45 a month for like 50 channels. but will get rid of netflix once disney plus comes out

12:19 pm

I watched Fringe back when it was live on the air with a live chat group. That was so fun and people would pick up on different things that I hadn't noticed.

12:20 pm

we have sling, netflix, prime, hulu (not tv), cbs all access. still way cheaper than our cable bill was!

12:20 pm

Yes, indeed, Molly. I need to read the series as I do like his writing. I used to browse the new releases at the local book store but that closed down quite a few years ago. Just not the same browsing the B&N site as actually picking the book up and seeing if it captures your attention (at least for me).

12:21 pm

i used to have sling.. good channels but the captioning sucked.. switched to hulu live instead

12:23 pm

I actually use captioning on everything and hadn't noticed it being horrible. what is bad about it? live shows like sports or grammar (bad grammar in captioning bothers me). we started sling before hulu live came out so I just have never really checked it out.

12:24 pm

the captions are pretty delayed. more so than live shows. i like to read lips and read captions at the same time so it was annoying

12:24 pm

I miss internet discussion boards for TV shows. Facebook killed all of them.

12:25 pm

ah, yeah I can see that happening for live stuff but it shouldn't for scripted shows

12:25 pm

I liked fauxlivia, bolivia and walternet

12:25 pm

6:06 pm

yes, ty....TITT.... ;o)

Sadly, Molly, most people on this site do indeed have a problem with you & that snarky behavior of yours. Example: Your last post. You make things unpleasant.

6:09 pm

i am done....heading out.....goodnight all....

6:14 pm

good evening everyone!

6:14 pm

hey nrkii, stopped by Nellie's Cafe in Walnut Grove, MN todaay!

6:14 pm

bye penquis! hi helen, mkg, molly, lynx, et al

6:14 pm

Hurshy, that is super cool.

6:15 pm

I've never been to MN.

Hiya nrkii :)

6:15 pm

Nellie is my spirit guide, but from a distance.

6:15 pm

lol

6:17 pm

sadly, I think I channeled just a tiny bit too much Nellie at work today

6:18 pm

And it was pre-Percival Nellie, so it was not me at my finest.

6:20 pm

lol

6:20 pm

She definitely changed after Percival arrived on the scene. Hiya folks.

6:20 pm

what did you do?

6:21 pm

I was just short-tempered in front of people who are young enough and junior enough to not necessarily take it in stride. I wasn't short tempered AT them, just in front of them, but it throws people off and I know better.

6:23 pm

hiya origami!

6:31 pm

with all these r's, n's and t's, I just can't see anything!

6:59 pm

I have returned for the last 60. the question remains: to list or not to list

7:01 pm

the other question that now comes up: does anyone care?

7:02 pm

odd grid... none of the words are all that odd so far, but I am stuck with 1 to go

7:14 pm

Anyone have a clue for the TO 7?

7:15 pm

got it!

7:17 pm

that was the only word that was a little stubborn... this grid was hard because of all the letter repetition, but when I listed, all but that one word was something I could have found if I wasn't so lost in all those Ts, Rs, Ns and Os

7:19 pm

clue for the to7? :)

7:30 pm

2000 lbs + a part of a fork

7:33 pm
