That's good to hear. We're stuck with summer, but that's life here. I just wish it would stay under 100F, but it seems that's history now. We are on a really odd schedule as a result of the heat. It was 99 at 6PM!
I hear ya. It was the same here for a while, drives one crazy. We are not used to it, most summers we do not reach that kind of temps. Though I remember some summers in my childhood when we did, for long stretches. Early school schedules and all.
School started a couple of days ago here. I never had to go back to school until Sept when I was a kid
I remember school starting at 7 am, and ending at noon, because of the heat.
I grew up in So Calif, so it wasn't too hot. No AC at all, and as the population outgrew the school rooms, they added Quonset huts - gads, those things were ovens!
I was always at school by 7-7:30 for early band practice. I don't remember getting out before 3.
oh I bet. Almost nobody here has AC. Stores often do, though. And some cars, too.
Here, we couldn't live w/o AC in cars! Summers have always been hot, but not *this* hot. I just pray there are no huge fires this year...there have been a couple of bad ones, but no loss of life that I've heard about. I can't believe the fast response to even tiny fires - 3 planes hit 1/4 acre fire and stop it before it turns into a mess. A few houses have burned due to human stupidity - like burning trash.
good job of the fire departments!
CalFire has been incredibly good this year! They just got several C130s to use as tankers, and are staffing all bases with planes that can drop huge loads of retardant. Impressive to see how fast they are knocking fires down. I'm so proud of the people who dedicate their lives to pubic safety!

use honey. it is a very smooth taste and i love it.
i was planning to, and you convinced me further.
try making a honey and cinnamon mixture. if you are braiding then you make long flat strands, and then put the mixture on top and roll it so each strand has some honey/cinn inside. it is yummy.
