ha6/33.......clue please
japanese nword - ha & not a loss backwards and vwl
tyvm lynx.....I tried everything for 25 minutes.......obviously I know no Japanese.
I had to use Morewords to get it - worked out which letters but couldn't make a sensible word out of them
not saying that Japanese isn't sensible!
I did also......sometimes I figure out the numerical letters and then try to put them into a logical sequence.
hello friends
Hi Trif! I have been lurking for 15 minutes.
hi sccrabbler!
sorry - still waking up
Good morning, Trif and Scrabbler.
Me too. I should be fully conscious by 11. I work from 8-12 then I am going to pick blueberries!
Hi Haz and pup.
i have totally overscheduled myself for the weekend ahead, oh dear. happy things, but waaaay too many
Pup is out, I am home alone. But never alone when there's a babble grid.
I have Sunday for myself. On Saturdays I sell my art at the local farmers' market.
i have two large blueberry trees in my yard, and let me tell you, they are working overtime this year! you are sure to have a good haul today. I suspect it was all the spring rain
well put, haz!
A big grid helps. Those 2 small ones recently were disappointing.
Yes, bigger grids give me more joy.
This blueberry farm that I go to has 40 acres of bushes. I typically pick 12 lbs in an hour.
i dont like tiny grids on sundays. booooo
my goodness scrabbler! and then.....freeze? jam? baked goods?
Booooo.
What good things have you lined up for the weekend, Trif?
last night I was given free tickets to a delightful production of Anything Goes, a long time favorite, because I massively redid one of the costumes for them. Tonight is Hello Dolly, in Boston, with Betty Buckley, tomorrow night is my favorite band EVER, The Waifs, and then sunday we move Tertiare into her first off=campus apartment in Nww Hanpshire.Whew!
have a student or two to tutor in between....
So busy!
You'll need a spell in a darkened room after that!
again, all happy things, but they all happened to hit this weekend
And when does school begin, Trif?
im thrilled to be seeing Betty Buckley, she is ROYALTY
August 29, scrabbler.
At least you can just go and enjoy the productions and not have to worry about making the costumes.
Local schools start around Sept 3-5--variable in the different school districts.
Are you going to be in the same school as last year?
I was going to ask the same question.
true fact, haz. I'm not going to lie, the Anything Goes piece was a real challenge. The director had found a vintage dress she absolutely LOVED for the Reno Sweeney character, but it was a size six, and the woman playing Reno....wasn't. No judgement, she was fantastic in the role, but....you just cannot put 50 pounds of potatoes in a ten pound bag.
Yikes.
No, not even 50 pounds of salad potatoes will fill into a ten pound bag.
Baking potatoes even less chance.
yes, as it stands now I am going back to the same school. had some great interviews over the summer, but nothing took. sigh. so I will do my best, as I always do and keep plugging away until I have my own classroom.
Good for you, Trif.
It's all you can do. Keep the head down and keep going.
how far we have all come, eh, scrabbler? When I first started babbling I was still married to mr hate, didn't have a master's degree, and you were working for Richard Head!
Progress! We hike on and wait for opportunities. I had a Richard Head nightmare recently. Twelve years of abuse cannot be erased.
It's 14 years since I started babble. That's a lot of words.
11 for me....wowza
13 for me, as of this month. So many friends. An expanding vocabulary. Much fun.
In that time I've had one daughter married, had one go off to London, lost one dog, gained another and retained the same husband throughout.
37 years. I think he's for staying.
personal best, haz! lol
that is an absolute blessing, haz
It just doesn't seem that long. I can't believe it but am profoundly grateful.
Scrabbler, what of the bunnies?
oh hey - no s in this grid. took me long enough to notice
I am slowing down after finding 82. Time to get ready for work.
nah, blow it off, scrabbler, and hang with us
She's too sensible, Trif.
I have a full schedule of urgent school physical exams for the parents that finally realized school is starting soon.
whenever my mother took a day off, we would tease her so bad - "The cries of the desperately ill go unheeded!"
Starting back to school is clearly a surprise for some.
Are these physical exams mandatory for starting school or just so people can have an excuse not to do certain activities?
It sure is, Trif, especially when vaccines are required.
my mum was the school doctor in our tiny town for about 25 years. Physical day was always fun - line up those third graders, and eighth graders, and file them on through....of course, that was back in the DAY. after HMOs got going, it was way different
Required for certain grades as are some vaccines.
And done in school or at your office?
at least the parents are GETTING the kids vaccinated
I'm having flashbacks of standing outside the medical room waiting for BCG vaccination.
Yes, husband likes to quote that people aren't anti vaxxers, they are pro plague.
Done in our office. Two years ago we established a vaccine requirement policy and began discharging the anti-vaxxers. It makes life easier for us although we encountered much hostility.
Anti-vaxxers cannot be reasoned with. They firmly believe their decision.
much like trump heads.....sigh
Tunnel vision, refusal to understand and believe in science and evidence.
I've been reading some articles, most of them point out that vaccination has been almost too successful because people don't remember what it was like to have these awful diseases.
Yes, vaccines are a victim of their success.
primo says the thing about facts is, you don't have to believe in them for them to be true.
but i feel like even that has gotten lost
People that don't understand science fear it and don't believe in it.
yup. but the scientific facts remain true in spite of them
I think it was an English doctor who began the whole vaccine causing autism, he has since been struck off but that news doesn't seem to have filtered through.
Either that or they will think it's the deep state trying to silence him.
im quite upset over the rollbacks for endangered species. what a garbage thing to do
There is SO much misinformation on the internet and people spread conspiracy theories, e.g. the government is causing the autism epidemic.
The internet is brilliant, but it does spread so much rubbish, you're right.
People believe what they want to believe...and children are placed at risk.
scrabbler, have you seen a doc called "Three identical strangers?" it is quite a thing
OK, I must get ready for work. Casual Friday so I can wears jeans.
The bigger the conspiracy, the less I believe it. People just can't keep secrets the way conspiracy theorists think they can.
I will Google that, Trif.
it is completely worth it. have a good day!
Have a good day, Scrabbler, jeans and all. May the children take their vaccines with smiles and grateful thanks.
haz, do you have the u word? a count would be more welcome, if so
oops, never mind - why does asking for a clue always work???
Sorry, Trif, was looking away for a minute.
I don't know, but it certainly works for pe4/5.
mostly because your mind has been working on it long enough before you ask that asking puts you in the right frame to find it
Or do you relax and let go of the anxiety of finding it?
I must be off. Enjoy the grid, enough normal words to keep you sane and a few interesting ones to keep you working. Bye for now!

good morning all! So I started this week with no job, about to get my last severance check from my prior job, and today I have 2 offers to choose between! Feeling blessed
yay, happy for you dan! Hope they are offers to your liking.
they could always be better financially, of course, but they are both solid jobs at good companies, and similar enough that I need to sit with the decision at least for the weekend
but so much of the stress of the Summer has dissipated!
a big decision -
congrats, dan...

at8...a + popular opinion web site with a bird sound name
