no i was wondering something....we have those vinyl windows in our house. we have a door that is uneven and flies come in. Have you had issues with them being in your home and hanging around the windows?
we had a problem last year where they were coming in because people would leave the door to the garage open. I bought a magnetic screen door and put there and we finally got rid of them. they do usually hang at the windows. maybe trying to get out? you can buy these sticky tape strips that stick on the windows. caught a few that way.
I think it is the cooler weather.
I got them on Amazon. Still have some - Catchmaster Window Fly Traps
we actually have one in here flying around right now :(

yeah, those fly strips that hang straight down have been around forever. I like these that go on the window since they hang around the windows.

You can put the fly strip on the outside of the door where they are entering.
are these floor length windows? I know cats are more agile than dogs, but I just put ours high enough on the window so he couldn't get his nose stuck in it.

If you have pets, it makes sense to put those kinds of things out of their reach. There are a lot of flies on my patio during the Summer, so I use them too. I put them up high, because that is where the flies fly.
Fly swatter works pretty well too.

I have a dog and cat who catch them. Flyswatter works well. Also, and I know this is weird, but a ziploc bag with water and some pennies hanging by the door helps.
one summer we had horrible fruit flies on the main floor and upstairs. I tried some homemade traps and stuff. eventually went to the basement and discovered the fridge down there had died and there was rotten meat in the freezer with maggots. how do they get in a closed freezer?
They were in every grain item that was in the pantry. I had to throw out over $100 dollars of food. Now all grain products go into the freezer for a day or two then into the pantry.
Flies can get in the tiniest cracks. Just ready about how they can get into the tightest homes for a dead body...ew!
