finished.. thankfully
si6 for the bottom, that took a while to find. And congrats, ru!
as for Mayim, I saw a thing on FB that she wrote, which led me to take an interest in her, which led to watching a few big bang episodes... but it doesn't really grab me. No idea about Blossom, guess I'm old, haha.
But I've always had a problem with sitcoms, especially if laugh tracks are involved - have tended to avoid them my whole life. Live audiences only slightly better, really.

Some real doozies in this grid!
Clue for mi7?
Good morning, Une. I will look with you.
Tx!
I am guessing it starts from the right side M and is the prefix mis-
Right......
Bonjour, ladies - i'm up early today, nice to see you, the mi6 is a Hebrew word (not "mis")
Buon Natale, JBV. I haven't seen you here in a long time.
Hi Scrabbler, Buon Natale! I Babble every day but at odd times
mima
Not a word.
how are things up north by you? snow?
Melting snow and heavy fog.
we've had very mild weather so far, not complaining
I want snow. Lots of it. I want to snowshoe and XC-ski.
Too mild for me.....69 here yesterday!
wow! that's crazy weather
the trees start to think it's spring and begin budding
Exactly!
fireworks for me - need any clues before I close?
No, thanks, JBV. I will tease some more words out, then I need to go to work. I am on call the next 4 nights. Waaaah.
Mi7?
the mi 7 is a plural of the 6
Only have one mi6.....to speak wrongly
the other is a Hebrew york - high point letter in the middle
hebrew word
second part sounds like name of presidential candidate Andrew ****

Hi Bea, how was your feast?
It was wonderful! So much food we didn't get to the cheesecake.
I'm sure yours was delicious.
Ooo, I have been thinking about a different dessert for Christmas. Maybe I will do cheesecake next year. We had a great dinner and a lot of fun with a riddle trivia game afterwards.
Good morning, all.
py7, please?
First 4 of keyboard instrument + syndrome ending.
py + two vowels + Mama ___! (ABBA musical)
And it's plural for the 8.
thanks
Firebirds!
Man, it sucked having to come back to work the day after Christmas. * pouty face *
And now I'm bored because the grid was too small today.
I should have said "its plural". Pardon my apostrophe.
confused: py +2 vowels and then the musical instrument??
nm got it finally. ty
any clues for the bottom row i word? ty
nm just got it. outch.
ouch. sorry to have asked.
morning all! happy boxing day
Ooo, boxing day. Time to get the Rock'em Sock'em Robots out.
i am struggling with that mi 6 hebrew word. i get the middle high point letter but not much else. mi and then ?
the high point letter i assume is the one in 5th column?
boxing day is after xmas? does that me to box up all the gifts or ??????????
traditionally, it's when the servants who worked Christmas Day got the day off and took their boxes of leftovers home from the wealthy's feasts
Mi6...number of persons required to be present for a Hebrew service
The high point letter is not in the fifth row
mi6 can end in either the corner or the center, mkg, if that helps
oh strike that, it *uses* both the center and the corner
<-- long day yesterday, need more coffee. miss2bit made out like a bandita
I must be blind, I only see it ending in the corner
not you, Molly, me ;-)
Oh good, not blind : D
I always think of the mi6/7 as the ten men needed at a funeral

Are you dears finding this grid to be rather cruel?
yes
High BPW (Babblets Per Words)
I cannot figure out that si6 that starts with a male name?
oh dam, never mind! I got it! Mr. Cowell with a sometimes vowel.
To Douglas: Absolutely, yes, I am.
With quite a bit of help from morewords, I have reached NBT-2, having exactly 2 from each tile with at least two words, and all the words from all the rest.
pieman is NOT a word? That! is! LUDICROUS!
My name is im5 Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die. Wait, that didn't come out right.
pieman is not a word no matter how you slice it
A la mode, Dorens...a la mode
i'd have commented but my humor has been a little crusty lately
I guess Douglas watched the chemistry version of The Princess Bride.
Ru, that is because you are flaky
I'm changing my name to the Count of Monte Crisco
i guess we've run the gallette of pie jokes
This had all the ingredients for a good pun thread

Temperatures predicted to be in the 50's and 60's all week. Whee!
The mountain I drove up today - that we used to call “Snowy Mountain†when the kids were small - was 63 at the top. Crazy warm for the day after Xmas.
Clue for an5 please
NM found it
We have had warm temperatures in December before. But I'm now waiting for the global warming people to chime in. Someone here actually posted "merry impeachmas" yesterday. How festive.
Is this grid hard or am I just not trying? Is 59 left too early to go to list?
And yes, we’ve had warm temps in winter before, esp. in NC.
I have no use for grids like this with weird ass words in them.
No I’ve listed at about that point. The words are really hard to see today
I don't have any "rules" about consulting the list. I go there when I stop seeing words that make sense.
I don’t really either. Would like to get halfway usually but I don’t always
Well, I buckled down and made it to 49
50!
Morewords, the list, asking for clues, it's all part of getting help instead of finding the words yourself.
I do try to find as many as I can, then go to the list, then as last resort ask for clues. Then last last resort, look it up. I pretend like I am learning them for next time.
Everyone has their own way of playing. I just laugh when people who have asked for clues all day long say that they finished without the list. Help is help.
cooee and g'day from me. i emailed flosey on the 17th. haven't heard from her. does anyone have any idea where or how she is? she was 87 when i last looked.
How do they even know what to ask for if they don’t have the list? I would even argue that getting clues that spell out the words are more help than just knowing the word exists from seeing it on the list. I don’t care how people want to play, but agree - don’t pretend like you didn’t have help.
Have not seen her, grannyrose
oh, lord, carla... i need all the help i can get...lolll
I’m always really grateful for all of the help that’s given and really appreciate it. I get much further into the grid with it. I always check back in the chog for clues given earlier. There are always words in every grid that I’ve never come across before.
ruru ?? did you see my new FB pic?
ditto Jaxx.
BBL
So as not to be misunderstood, I am sure people are grateful for helpful clues. And then there are those who don't care for unsolicited clues in chat, because they are trying to find words on their own. Like I said before, everyone plays in a different way. And that is great.
I don’t like clues that basically spell out the word for you. I’d much rather have a clue to the meaning of a word that I then need to go and find. It’s hard to get the balance right sometimes. There’s no answer really other than not having the chat open if you don’t want any clues.
I agree. I turn the chat off when there are a lot of clues flying.
but sometimes the meaning of a word cannot be found. then things become a little tricky if a clue is needed.
Jax, thoroughly agree. To spell out a word is not a clue, it is the word itself. And, yes, I always work the grid to the best i can and then check the chat - both for news and a few clues.
Agree grannyrose but sometimes some quite common words are spelt out.
Last gripe (for now), declaring Enable is nuts or there is no such word or how silly it is instead of looking it up themselves and finding out there are more definitions of the word or that people elsewhere or elsewhen used it commonly.
I have written to flosey twice gr. No response
Yes i saw the facebook photo
A huge group
Well, I made it to 11 left with the list. It is not helping that I could fall asleep any second.

how are you doing min?
I am doing well. Had a terrific Christmas w/family in VT.
Hope you had a very nice holiday in the land down under
i did thanx min. if you have an FB account look for me. i posted a pic of just the kids and their kids there. with their permission of course. we had a family picnic in a park Boxing Day. 26 people... we had a wow of a time.
my husband never ceases to be in awe of the fact that such a large family gets along with each other so well.i used to think we were the norm but he says no.
min, did you have far to travel to be with your family?
I drove about 4.5 hrs to Vermont. Not a very long drive.
My dog was my co-pilot.It's a good thing my dog does not drive. He falls asleep every time we go to VT. Not a very good co-pilot, if you ask me, but always enjoy company
lolll... sleeping on the job was he. but seriously, glad he is such a good passenger. some dogs become very ill traveling.
He goes back and forth between the back seat and front seat.He has always been great in the car w/no problems
Any guesses on the next grid size? My guess is 105 words.
