I love spring allergies in NC...NOT!
lol bzz
clue for the na 5/12 pls bzz?
My mom is having a horrible time.
I went to an ENT a few years ago and they did allergy testing and said I'm not allergic to the 10 or 20 most common here and I have non-allergic rhinitis. My friend and I laugh about that every spring.
It's Purim. Hamantashen for everyone!
Chag Purim sameach
I don't know if it's the Bradford Pears but I always notice it when those start budding
hokie allergic rhinitis?
na5 - Sportscaster Jim Na5
I feel like there's some googling in my future. No idea what Purim is.
ty got it
I have problems with the redbuds.

gang of four robins yesterday,, first i've seen
We have robins year round, owl.
found a 7 woo hoo
and cardinals
I think we have all the birds year round. they have flown south and stopped here.
our cardinals stay all winter. they were so chirpy yesterday
Bluebirds are back.
I loe bluebirds
love
I'm watching the hummingbirds migration map closely.
bzz do you have food for them?
Always.
I saw a little bluebird the other day in front of my house
the hawks were here all winter as well
cool we have a bird feeder where you can put a square of food into it on the side. hubby stopped doing it for some reason
One of my errands today is to get more birdfood.
probably tired of feeding the squirrels, mlfan!
That is probably suet
I wish these hawks would take out the squirrels
oh we have that too hokie lol
I have a pileated woodpecker. I love getting sight of him.
ooh, I have to watch the clock. 20 min til I need to leave for the gym. It's so late already!
does that one have red on the top of its head?
Yes. He is the big woodpecker.
Bea, pileated woodpeckers are gorgeous.
hope you beat the rain hokie
they are beautiful bzz
Or big pecker for short : D
I caught something on my trail cam once that I was baffled by and my brother said it was a chickadee
I love them, Molly. Always exciting to see one.
i hope ruru doesn't come in lol
mlfan, I was going to walk there today since it's so warm, but my husband said it'd be raining when I left, so I guess I'll drive.
i gtg will be back...
You've never seen a chickadee?
overrun with squirrels. despite hawks
i've never seen a blubird.
We have chickadees all over the place here
not close up on a trail cam. I couldn't even tell it was a bird I think
You are probably too urban, owl.
i only saw juncos once this winter.
not urban at all
I might try to find that pic and change to it later
Do you have a lot of woods, owl?
but no one adjacent is feeding the past dew years
not sure I've seen a junco.
not in the yard. but around, there are wooded areas
we have mostly cardinals, robins, pigeons or doves
I'm a bird birder so I see lots of different birds.
A big birder...
we had doces but they are gone now. starling, sparrows, cardinals, those little burds that sing like canaries. we hae lost trees to ash borer and storms, and with the went the birds
Yes, that is sad, owl.
it's sad. the little ones would sit in the spruce outside the bathroom windoe and chiro me awake
it was like being a kid and going through woolworth's back door where the pet depeartment was
as a not morning person, chirping birds waking me up makes me angry. :D my mom can't believe it because she loves to hear them.
not a mourning dove, then homie.
I bought her a clock at Xmas that plays a different bird sound on the hour
my mom had a clock like that.
Homie is not a mouring dove. =)
haha, I get your joke. but mourning doves don't actually bother me! It's the perky chirpy ones.
My MIL had one too.
homie don't play 'dat
lol. My parents had a bird clock too. I wanted to fling that thing into the street.
glad you like my joke.

no, there is a way that it will show right on the same window. thanks anyway.
that may be babble expert you are talking about. I have a mac so I can't use that and have never seen it. I believe if you click that link I was talking about you can find the link to babble expert on lickety's page.
thank you
no, looks like he just has his email address at the bottom to request babble expert. maybe a windows user will chime in with better info. sorry.

hello everyone :)
not getting the de6
hi cyber
it's de 5/14, and I don't get it either
You add what hokie said to de MOST of his name not ALL of it
but his name doesn't start with de
Yes, I know his name doesn't start with de. Read what I posted. Her clue should have been de + most of the first name of NASCAR Earnhardt
de 5/14: expired minus a vowel +mr. gore
Add what hokie said to de
got it, ty, pretty obscure
ex 7 please?
name that composer of the surprise symphony in the grid :)
ex 7 the ? says a localized, mobile excited state of a crystal, consisting of an electron and a hole bound together.
I'm sure that you won't be surprised when I say that doesn't help much
hi, all
hi welki
ex7 the first 5 of a word that means to get someone all jazzed + not off
ty molly - good clue
nan, i read last night's chat and saw your post about alberta whining about the oil prices tanking. why would you say that?
just tired of listening to AB premier complaining about everything the federal government does -- I do realize how important the oil industry is and do think the pipeline should have gone through long ago, but I also think Kenney and his government should be a lot more sympathetic regarding environmental issues
so let me get this straight. if jason kenny complains, the entire province is whining? i live here and haven't heard any whining at all. what i hear is fright, people wondering if they'll lose their homes, similar to what happened before. combined with the dow crashing, many people have lost their retirement savings and are terrified of the long term implications of the low oil prices. maybe you're one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to worry about money, but from where i sit, albertans, while not whining, sure are nervous about the coming months/years.
the ex7 sounds like a thrilling atomic particle
or the new transformer character :)
ooh yeah, that would work
welki - when I said albert was whining again I was referring to the government, not the individuals in the province
lots of proper names in this grid
probably turns into a porsche or a high-speed bike
maybe it is time the oil producing areas of the world should look for other sources of income --- eventually fossil fuels are going to have to be phased out if this planet is to survive.
i'm thinking a transformer mercedes 300SL or we could go retro with a delorean - those wings!
back from the dentist. glad you all got my clue all ironed out. LOL
down to 6 -- all 6's and 7's
"doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me" - not the do6 I'm looking for

FA 6 people who are crazy for the pop stars + frog like creature without the A.
strange one, thanks
oops sorry. did not see your post, Nan.
ty zooz
I had to think about Lincoln's son for a minute. Of course it was also his wife's maiden name (or middle?). funny that a canadian used it in a clue. ;)

thanks, you too!
hard eye roll on the no5 & 7
2 left. 1 is a 5 and you'd think I could figure it out based on points and a methodical typing of every combo.
got it, just needed to type that in so I could find it.
now a pesky 6 is all that remains between me & fireworks
which 6, carla?
have just read the entire chat and no one has asked for it, so it must be a regular word that I am blind to.
la6/27
well if it's any consolation, I have 18 left....and 6 of them are sixes
Same as the le6/27 save for one letter
I tried ladynap, hoping that was a real thing, since I'd love to have one. alas, not only is it not a thing, it is 7 letters.
thanks haz, that's really weird, because I know I tried that on my first pass through the list and it didn't take. so of course I didn't try it now.
So, fireworks?
yes, but so anticlimactic :D
and now I have 5 sixes left...tx H
Oh well, at least you're finished.
yep, now maybe a ladynap
yes, and then you can wake up all gladdy
ty for the ex7
:D
hopefully your ladynapping spot has sufficient paddage
conpany - a dishonest commercial enterprise
mool is that a clue?
no, we're just making up words, not unlike enable
may I have a clue for the la 7 pls?
it's ladynap, mlfan
LE7 sorry
there is no la7

and now you have literally every letter in the word
hokie i am completely confusedia
confused

ty
part of a luxury car make + little pictures on your computer
Good clue, homie.

What are you having for dinner tonight, Carla?
5 to go
hi all
Hey, peri. How has your day been?
my day has been good so far and yours?
ha 6/27, last one, pls
don't have it bichon
Hello all from the U.S. epicenter of COVID19, in Washington State. Between our county and the next over, we have 244 cases with over 100 more pending. Lots of stuff cancelled, colleges and universities holding classes remotely. #1 thing we can all do to limit spread of ANY virus is to wash our hands multiple times a day. Funny memes are popping up: Wash your hands like you are washing Jason Momoa. lol! Stay healthy :)
I don't know, Bea, I need dinner ideas!
hi, ch1212, happy hand washing to you.
And you too :)
just heard there is a case where my parents live
The number of cases is increasing by about 25% each day the past week.
ha6/27 relates to touch, same ending as op relating to eye
We've had a couple in CT, but they didn't live here
oh that is not good
not getting your clue for ha6 carla
Over 800 in the U.S. as of this afternoon. The numbers are hollow though, because over 80% of cases are mild, and because the testing criteria excludes a number of more serious cases.
ty carla
It is sad that it gets the outbreak of an uncontrollable virus to get people to wash their hands.
but I got the ha6
I think it's already all over
true Molly
bbl
Like people didn't know how before. What do they do after a m
*bm
as a germaphobe I already wash my hands like 100x a day. I have hand eczema too so they are already cracked and peeling.
me too Carla. But, the last few years, it's been under conrol
oh, hokie, so sorry. I keep a container of coconut oil mixed with frankincense oil next to the sink, and rub some into my hands after washing. I also use it on my eczema and psoriasis, and it really keeps it at bay.
And nothing against hand washing, but if you washed your hands every time you came in contact with something someone else has touched, you would be at the sink all day. Door knobs, elevator buttons, anything you swipe a payment card in...the list goes on and on.
I use CeraVe
I love CeraVe too. That and Aquaphor, which I used on my skin during topical chemo.
Use Aquaphor when my legs e ichy
I have all kinds of hand creams at various sinks and places throughout the house.
I just discovered Aquaphor spray ointment which is great for my back.
mmm ... I haven't heard of that product before. Thanks for the tip!
My Podiatrist always tells me to put lotion on my toes
it really does feel like the ointment and not those spray lotions
You have an itchy back Carla? So do we. Have o ry that
People don't moisturize their feet enough. Vaseline and socks before bed. It works wonders. Especially on dry, cracked heels.
yes, I've done that before, should do it more.
my back is crazy itchy right now at the bra strap. starting to wonder about elastic or latex being the culprit. or just winter weather.
po 7/40, pls
I would like to try that foot peel stuff, but it takes 20 days and I am about ready to graduate into sandals.
one is someone who likes marijuana, bichon
Carla, two words, sports bras. I haven't worn a regular bra in years.
I have not heard of that, Molly
ty Carla
I actually live in gym clothes, so sports bras are my main thing
Being small bosomed, I often ddon't even wear a bra when I'm indoors
so envious! There's no way I can get out of wearing a bra... even at night. My nickname in high school was Dolly Parton.
When I was 13 I wanted big oobs. Not now
other po7 is a french vase, starts same as other but ends frenchy. like a recess in a wall without the first letter.
have it, ty
thanks for both, hokie
yw
rehi, back for my last 5
1 to go
and fw...that last 7 took me a while
hello
Hi TO
hi ori
helloooo ori and TO. dong quite well over here. how are you both?
hi rose
Hi rose - doing well, thank you.
doing well. events cancelled due to virus. it's going to be a miserable boring month
our weather can't make up it's mind and consequently lilies which bloom in the spring are blooming again, at the beginning of our autumn.
wow. it's like spring here, 60s and 70s F.
Here also, TO
over here as well TO. we are flying up to QLD end of March. if travel ban comes in we are gonna be well and truly stuck.
Events are being cancelled here as well. No meetings more than 4 people allowed at work.
a friend just beck from there. have not heard about any cases there
wow! here the guidelines are crowds 500+
and of course NO DANCING
I work at a university and they are being very cautious.
temp. about to hit 96F here. go figure.but the nights are lovely. down to 60F. very comfortable for sleeping.
oh my! is that usual?
TO, QLD cases have started to gain momentum. we do have appropriate masks for the plane and airports.
i took dvds from the library and douused them in alcohol before using
TO, for our autumn, this early yes. temps swing rather wildly.
around Penn, all the chinese students weat them all winter.
but funny thing, not now. weird.
that's UPenn.
i know. same here. i tink before, they wore them to stop catching anything from us. now they aren't wearing them to show that they aren't infected.
interesting.
current advice is to not wear masks unless you have symptoms. and of course, xenophobia has gone rampant.
aat least we still can babble.
yup, even in self-isolation we can babble.
speaking of xenophobia, support your local chinese restaurants. Chicagp
my SIL teaches 4th grade. school nurse came in today to talk to them. when she asked where the virus came from, they all said chinese food!
sorry... Chicago's Chinatown is taking a HUGE financial hit because people think it's in the Chinese DNA or something. So ridiculous
she asked them wehre chinese food came from, they answered "China"
nurse said, no, it comes from Costco! :D
we are supporting our local chinese restaurants too but can't afford to do it more than once/week.
The kids must be hearing this ridiculous stuff at home.
at least they didn't say corona beer.
Corona beer sales are way down I hear.
I heard somewhere that sales of Corona beer is down.
i did, too.amazing
I stocked up. need the essentials if forced to stay home.
i was sitting outside my local cafe with a friend, having a last illicit drink before coming home. laughed myself silly. everyone coming out of the supermarket carried a multiroll pack of loo paper. i simply cannot understand their reasoning. surely there are more important things they would need if self-isolated.
It is really sad the way people are believing the hype about this virus.
makes me cheer even more for quick natural selection.
And what is up with the toilet paper hoarding? If I was seriously concerned I would be more worried about medications and food.
it's very bad in WA, though. but you are tight about the stupid stuff people believe.
i hear you Molly.
ori, absolutely. food and meds first, if one must hoard.
although it would be a bad thing to be out of, must admit!
True, TO
there was a large pyramid of sale TP in shopRite today. glad to see it. I had a coupon. but the coolies that had the coupon were all gone
ori, the way i understand it. the chinese us toilet paper to blow their noses into, not tissues. i think because of this, they have been stockpiling, anticipating a dramatic increased need if they get the covid-19.
coolies?
my brother said he waited 45 MINUTES on lin in CostCo BUSIINESS today, huge carts of paper towels, lysol wipes, TP etc going out.
cookies.
people went to the business site because the regular was sold out
ok, phew
aged
just a typo. they are nest to each other. time to go.
sorry
bye TO. nice to catch up and chat. xox
bye!
See ya', TO
rose do you mean in china? necause my brother said those stockpiling were asian
damn i am famished brain cannot order fingers io the right keys
Why that would cause Americans to hoard TP is a mystery.
no idea. it's one of those items i like to keep on hand.
Asian Americans may be stockpiling so they don't have to go out in public as often. I also heard a story about Asians buying guns. I think they're worried about "retribution". Can't blame them.
stay virus free, peeps.
I normally have a lot on hand also.
That's awful Is1
remember after 9/11, anyone who looked middle-eastern was a target?
All people need to hear is that the is a shortage on ____ fill in the blank. People are like sheep. Once they hear that, they will go hoard it. Toilet paper, anti bacterial wipes, rubbing alcohol...go look at Amazon. They are out of stock on all those things and more.
I went to buy some hand sanitizer for work and Amazon and OfficeDepot were both out.
Good luck finding hand sanitizer anywhere
we had some bloke here trying to sell 20 rolls on-line for AU$2,000. one of our investigative teams of reporters sprang him. filmed it all.
sprang? sprung? which one?
Good grief!
I had to tell people it wasn't available and there was almost a mutiny. Just wash your hands people!
I have never gotten hand sanitizer. Like you said, just wash your hands.
my neighbor gave em a whole box of hand sanitizer from where she works a couple of months ago
I personally don't use it either.
but I really prefer soap too
Okay, lol! In our area of Washington, we have 250 confirmed cases of the nearly 1,000 nationwide -- as of 5pm pt. The message from the CDC a few weeks ago (and still) is for people to have about 2 - 3 extra weeks worth of groceries and household goods on hand, in case they need to self quarantine, or otherwise limit outings. For some reason, many people took that to mean the end of the world, and they stocked up on a year's supply of toilet paper. lol!
See, there is something else. People are going to start stealing from their workplaces.
she did not steal it lol they had overstock and did a sale on it
her company makes the stuff
It's a first that they are letting us use university funds to buy tissues and hand sanitizer (if we were able to get it). We were expected to bring those things from home.
Sorry, no offense to your neighbor. But people will start stealing. From workplaces, from public restrooms, etc.
yeah I can see that
No way do I want to go to Hell for stealing a roll of TP :-)
I really was surprised water is even going off the shelf here to and hand sanatizer
I don't think that is on the list of reasons to go to hell.
:-)
and I work from home and they sent a list of things we can do
I have to update our business continuity plan by Monday. They are anticipating people working from home and classes being on-line.
I don't get people who buy water. We use a water filtration system and reusable containers.
I'm going to fire myself on Friday and reconsider on Monday
we have horrible water here so I already have to buy water my last two filtraters did not work so I just buy water now
I just drink tap water. It is soooo hard that there is a powdery residue when I make ice cubes.
worst comes to worst though I know how to boil water
anyone see the anti cigarette drug in the grid?
It was pointed out to me by someone, ru
