to me it sounds like something that isn't out of the question - and the "right" is the side with the most money to waste on such scapegoat-creating opportunities, seems to me. The rest of us are the "other side" - those that the right keeps accusing of "being too scared to come out of our houses" - and if correct, it ain't us out rioting, right?

i pray that you all are safe. we live in the outer suburbs so there usually isn't much happening in the way of protests and rioting. there have been a few protests but they have mainly been quiet. anti-vaxxers and the like.
then why does the governor of Minnesota think it is? Like I said, lefties aren't coming out and hanging around in crowds. "Antifa" is simply anti-fascist, and is that bad? I think not.

I should have clarified that I've studied the global operation, not just the North American ones.
Sounds like each city has their own sad stories of racism and brutality, and this was just a trigger. After all the "lockdown" - and the start of hot weather, too, which is a factor, too! Such timing on the murder of Mr. Floyd - the explosion was probably bound to happen.
it's like the older ladies at the women's marches after the 2017 inauguration, carrying the signs that said "I can't believe I still have to protest this same thing" - I can't believe racism and police brutality is still a thing, either.
it seems to me that incidents of racism and police brutality are increasing and I put the blame for that right at Trump's door.
pretty much agree with you there, but I also blame all the enablers and the people who voted for him. Plenty of blame to go around, haha.
we've had a lot of violence against the chinese population in Vancouver -- ugly new incidents that I also blame on Trump -- it certainly isn't coming from our politicians.

sooo, "I can't believe we're still protesting the same things" covers a lot of area. The local cops still harass people like my Hubby, and stereotyped him all the time - long hair, tats, biker, obviously a drug dealer or worse, right? They seemed to think so. Drove us nuts. And now the same two or three guys act like they have it in for our son. So tired of it. Wonder how a riot would go over in a town of 300. :P
Had one cop pull into our driveway when our son was younger and insist the thing to do was to force him to join the military, that would "straighten him out". I told him if that was all he had to say, please leave our property.
Same cop "pulled over" my husband on a Cushman headed two blocks to the bar. Said he was drinking and driving without a license. Please. We got him off that one. He was disabled and the ADA (american disabilities act) basically said it was fine for him to use it as an alternative mobility device. Nothing they could do. They FINALLY told the cop to lay off us, after nearly 20 years of obsession on his part.

We have a loaded crabapple tree this year. Usually there is hardly any fruit on it.
there is a crabapple next door to my parents. it used to drop fruit all in our driveway. I liked to use them like sidewalk chalk. :D don't think I've noticed them in a while.
same house has a paw paw tree in the back yard that I think used to have fruit when i was a kid but my mom said it hasn't had any for years. I know you have to have 2 for cross-pollination so I wonder if they had another and cut it down.
I'm thinking about making jelly from them.
I also have a five gallon bucket of dandelion flowers. Was going to make jelly with them too.
I also planted a tiny tree I got from the same orchard and it said it makes good jelly. I had never heard of it, I think it was mayapple? that one hasn't even sprouted a leaf though, so I don't know if it's alive.

there were demonstrations all over canada, but to my knowledge, none turned violent.
(the biggest one, i think, was in toronto - 4,000 protesters rallying for answers regarding a woman's fall from a balcony while in crisis and with police presence)
