12:25 am

ah!

12:26 am

being on the way to our third tropical storm in the Atlantic before June, i'm a bit focused on disaster.

12:27 am

our whole country is on fire from protests it seems

12:27 am

someone lit the Hay-Adams Hotel in DC on fire, on the 2nd floor. That's one of the four oldest hotels in the city.

12:29 am

I see we have added dutch the the repertoire of languages

12:29 am

this is really sad to me, i understand the anger and I think the prosecutor needs to go for Murder 1 but all this destruction is terrible

12:30 am

Wonder how many protesters will come down with the virus

12:30 am

lol

12:32 am

indeed, we have, cybernan!

12:32 am

peach, a goodly number likely.

12:32 am

the widespread destruction is terrible -- a bunch of malcontents taking advantage of the situation.

12:33 am

we watched the news on komo this evening -- downtown Seattle is a mess

12:33 am

#MAGAisINSTIGATING is trending.

Thanks, Rain.

12:37 am

I think the photo I saw was from London

12:37 am

np Peach

12:38 am

I can understand the rioting in the states, but not in Canada or Europe which is why I think the malcontents have latched on to this as an excuse to be destructive

12:38 am

the Gov. of Minnesota is on record as putting forth the idea that many of the ones still at it are right-wing activists. Not sure if he has evidence of same or not.

12:38 am

finito

12:38 am

i'm tired. Happy babbling yall! i'm going to take care of kitchen and sleep.

12:38 am

Can’t find anything on the news here.

I feel so sorry for the parents of these kids. Unless the parents were there with them.

12:39 am

Sweet dreams dcseain.

12:40 am

go to bed Dart ! :D

12:41 am

to me it sounds like something that isn't out of the question - and the "right" is the side with the most money to waste on such scapegoat-creating opportunities, seems to me. The rest of us are the "other side" - those that the right keeps accusing of "being too scared to come out of our houses" - and if correct, it ain't us out rioting, right?

12:42 am

hahaha! that's my defense of the "left" and I'm sticking to it.

12:42 am

Way to go, rbud.

12:42 am

These aren't right wing activists and these so called protests are not organic. More like hard core Antifa just waiting in the wings for the perfect crisis and here it is....

12:44 am

it's really tragic

12:44 am

i pray that you all are safe. we live in the outer suburbs so there usually isn't much happening in the way of protests and rioting. there have been a few protests but they have mainly been quiet. anti-vaxxers and the like.

12:44 am

then why does the governor of Minnesota think it is? Like I said, lefties aren't coming out and hanging around in crowds. "Antifa" is simply anti-fascist, and is that bad? I think not.

12:45 am

Antifa is the most fascist organization on this planet.

12:45 am

i must say how proud of you all i am for voicing your objections to cruelty at the hands of the law enforcers.

12:45 am

anyway, it's obvious to me that quiet polite protesting hasn't worked, so guess it's time for the harder stuff. Can't say I blame them.

12:48 am

sorry you think so, Rain - I don't believe they exist, myself. I think they're just another made-up thing for the haters to fuss about.

12:49 am

I've studied them for the past 3 years. They certainly exist.

12:49 am

The people who are actually mounting a protest against police brutality won't be satisfied until all 4 officers are arrested and charged, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen --- already they are creating "evidence" to get the murderer off the hook

12:50 am

funny, that's just about how long the "fake news king" and his cronies have been generating their lies.

12:50 am

I should have clarified that I've studied the global operation, not just the North American ones.

12:55 am

Sounds like each city has their own sad stories of racism and brutality, and this was just a trigger. After all the "lockdown" - and the start of hot weather, too, which is a factor, too! Such timing on the murder of Mr. Floyd - the explosion was probably bound to happen.

12:58 am

it's like the older ladies at the women's marches after the 2017 inauguration, carrying the signs that said "I can't believe I still have to protest this same thing" - I can't believe racism and police brutality is still a thing, either.

12:59 am

it seems to me that incidents of racism and police brutality are increasing and I put the blame for that right at Trump's door.

1:05 am

pretty much agree with you there, but I also blame all the enablers and the people who voted for him. Plenty of blame to go around, haha.

1:05 am

we've had a lot of violence against the chinese population in Vancouver -- ugly new incidents that I also blame on Trump -- it certainly isn't coming from our politicians.

1:07 am

as I keep saying -- what happens in the US spills over into Canada -- the good and the bad

1:07 am

racism aside - police brutality is definitely a thing - some people just are not mentally capable of handling the authority they are entrusted with - a number of cases here during level 5 lockdown using both police and army and 2 deaths black on black

1:08 am

I agree ursh -- our police acadamies need a better method of screening candidates

1:09 am

I always wondered if it was a certain type of person who gravitated to police work and used it as an outlet for their particular brand of crazy - or if it was the job that turned them "bad".

1:09 am

maybe some of both. But there sure seems to be a "type" I've run into over and over.

1:11 am

some of them are "screened" out --- those are the customs officers at the border : D

1:11 am

hahaha! sad and yet funny.

1:11 am

perhaps being a policeman is the easier job to get and there is no dedication - same with nursing

1:11 am

well there's one thing we can agree on

1:12 am

border agents, that is

1:14 am

leaving the rest - time to hit the sack. Hopefullly tomorrow will be a better day. Goodnight everyone :)

1:14 am

really though, the hippies were screaming "police brutality" way back when, and their long hair and attitudes offended the butch cut cops. A whole separate issue from the problems MLK was addressing.

1:14 am

night, nan.

1:15 am

night nan - 2nd coffee of the morning here

1:18 am

sooo, "I can't believe we're still protesting the same things" covers a lot of area. The local cops still harass people like my Hubby, and stereotyped him all the time - long hair, tats, biker, obviously a drug dealer or worse, right? They seemed to think so. Drove us nuts. And now the same two or three guys act like they have it in for our son. So tired of it. Wonder how a riot would go over in a town of 300. :P

1:19 am

Had one cop pull into our driveway when our son was younger and insist the thing to do was to force him to join the military, that would "straighten him out". I told him if that was all he had to say, please leave our property.

1:22 am

Same cop "pulled over" my husband on a Cushman headed two blocks to the bar. Said he was drinking and driving without a license. Please. We got him off that one. He was disabled and the ADA (american disabilities act) basically said it was fine for him to use it as an alternative mobility device. Nothing they could do. They FINALLY told the cop to lay off us, after nearly 20 years of obsession on his part.

1:24 am

anyway, done with soapboxing now, hope no one's offended to the point of active dislike, night all.

1:25 am

night rbud - cant say I blame you xxx

Morning all. Can anyone guide me on the my7, please?

What a glorious day. Cool and zero humidity. I have finally stopped dripping.

6:23 am

I thought the same thing when I took the dog out this morning. Left the back door open to allow some freshness in.

6:24 am

Oh good. I'm glad it's nice down your way too.

7:16 am

Dear goodness...I'm sure you're gone, but thank you for the My, Soodle. Sucks when you can't get past the first tile!

7:22 am

I am not understanding the 2nd part of that my 7 clue .. here comes the bride?

7:27 am

MLF, please don't post your guesses in the chat. If they are right they give away most of the word

7:27 am

that was in earlier chat

7:28 am

And the clue said SOUNDS LIKE. And it was not spelled out in the chat.

7:36 am

Would you like some help, MLFAN? I will help.

7:50 am

I will remember that for next time the grid requires a my 7 letter word lol

7:53 am

It is similar to German, Mein Herr.

7:53 am

don't know either of those

it sounds like a word for a disease, it that the spelling of it?

7:53 am

Low German and Dutch are very similar

7:54 am

it actually does sound like a german word

7:54 am

no luv not a disease word though I thought it was going to be before I got a clue

7:55 am

Both are words of respect for men. Similar to our Mr.

7:55 am

ohh

7:55 am

Meniere's disease is a disorder that affects the inner ear

7:55 am

enjoy

there is a disease that sounds the same but must be spelled differently. My father-in-law had it

7:56 am

sorry, my bad

7:56 am

Georgia peaches with Maine rhubarb!

not sure I have ever had anything rhubarb. morning, y'all

8:52 am

Morning, Carla.

I don't like this top row at all.

8:55 am

I have never had rhubarb

8:56 am

Sweet-tart.....

for a sec I thought you were saying sweet-tart candies have a rhubarb flavor

8:56 am

that's what I have heard about the flavor

8:57 am

Love rhubarb pie!!

8:57 am

It grows like a stalk, like celery. It is very tart unless you add sweetness. My mom makes strawberry rhubarb pie.

anyone here ever had a paw paw? I planted 3 little paw paw trees this spring.

8:58 am

I didn't know you could eat paw paw.

8:58 am

I always wondered how strawberry rhubarb came to be the pairing in a pie when using rhubarb?

yes, they are edible. never did well in markets due to shelf life. supposedly they are like a mango banana.

8:59 am

why down yonder in the paw paw patch

9:00 am

We have a loaded crabapple tree this year. Usually there is hardly any fruit on it.

there is a crabapple next door to my parents. it used to drop fruit all in our driveway. I liked to use them like sidewalk chalk. :D don't think I've noticed them in a while.

same house has a paw paw tree in the back yard that I think used to have fruit when i was a kid but my mom said it hasn't had any for years. I know you have to have 2 for cross-pollination so I wonder if they had another and cut it down.

9:03 am

I'm thinking about making jelly from them.

9:04 am

I also have a five gallon bucket of dandelion flowers. Was going to make jelly with them too.

I also planted a tiny tree I got from the same orchard and it said it makes good jelly. I had never heard of it, I think it was mayapple? that one hasn't even sprouted a leaf though, so I don't know if it's alive.

9:04 am

never had dandelion jelly ..is It sweet?

9:05 am

Yes, because you add sugar.

9:05 am

my husband and I don't make jams/jelly but one of our favorites is elderberry

9:05 am

and apple butter

9:05 am

I make apple butter every fall.

9:06 am

what makes it sticky?

9:06 am

What is sticky?

9:07 am

apple butter seems a bit sticky in texture..

9:07 am

But the flavor and the smell i would eat that stuff everyday if i could:)

9:08 am

Could be the pectin from the apples.

all jams and jellies are sticky aren't they?

9:08 am

Discovered rhubarb when I visited my daughter in Colorado :-)

9:08 am

That's what I would say, Carla.

9:08 am

true bzz

9:09 am

strawberry and grape have oddly become too sweet for me

I love some strawberry jam. haven't made any in a while. one of our renters just gave mr. homie a tiny jar of it plus a bigger jar of triple berry jam. we're not sure what the 3 berries are, but my son is loving it.

9:16 am

Time for me to get busy. I've started another fabric slashing project in the sewing room...Can't wait to see how it turns out.

10:32 am

molly do you know if dr g is sick?

10:34 am

huh? why do you think he's sick?

10:34 am

I am confused by jwr's cryptic statements. "can't see anything back". and lickety is keeping his list going but has nothing to do with this site, which appears to be running the same as it ever has by Dr. God.

10:35 am

ru, scroll down and read jwr's post

10:35 am

10:35 am

i just did

10:35 am

jwr was wearing sunglasses still and it was late at night

10:35 am

ok, so it makes no sense to you too?

10:36 am

If i had to guess (and this is a guess), jwr tried to get hold of Dr God but didn't get a reply and perhaps jumped to conclusions? But that's totally a guess (no judgement!)

10:37 am

a lot of things posted in the chat make no sense to me most days :D

10:38 am

an 6 please?

10:38 am

to players like JWR Dr G must be watching babble for 24 hours a day... he sleeps like the rest of us do

1:01 pm

ugh, i didn't read the timestamp correctly

1:02 pm

there were demonstrations all over canada, but to my knowledge, none turned violent.

1:05 pm

1:13 pm

i hope the cop gets murder one personally

1:17 pm

hello everyone, I hope you are all safe from rioting.

1:20 pm

hello friends. not loving the top left corner of this grid. At all.

4:12 pm

the lone M is my7/44 if that helps any.

4:12 pm

the count is very helpful, thank you so much rbud! how are you keeping? writing a lot?

4:14 pm

mostly reading. And cooking. And trying to get further on house projects - have found so many supplies stashed around the place, that I bought over the years, haha.

4:15 pm

finally got a couple of upstairs windows installed that I'd bought years ago.

4:15 pm

how aboutyourself?

4:15 pm

oh well done you! I have done a few small things, but nothing so major. Gardens are looking well, so there's that

4:15 pm

found the 7, thank you!

4:18 pm

you're welcome! Wish I had the inclination or soil to garden, good job there! The soil here is horrible, and I'm not up to making major amendments, tilling, or anything like that. I grew things in giant pots for years, but there's a huge garden a couple of blocks down - they sell their overages cheap, now I'm spoiled, haha.

4:19 pm

I would do that too, I think! I live on the world's biggest pile of glacier trash - it's frustrating as anything, but I keep at it.

4:30 pm

Hello, Does anyone have a clue for the my7?
