i just re-watched Love and Other Disasters - very sweet little film, so sad that we lost Brittany Murphy, she was charming
haven't seen that but of course know her from clueless. just recently watched a show about her death. very sad.
we watched clueless, then followed it with Love and Other Disasters :D
I will have to check it out
oh hey i found that nine, only 26 minutes after freep, lol
still haven't. I'm assuming compound since I can never find those.
no, not compound.
I have 13 Rs left, hurshy
i like to try to go in order, left to right, top to bottom. but i threw in the bottom R early since there were only 2
still have the 6 r's left :D
we're so close to having tesseract!
oh found the nine finally myself
:D
<---- not really looking for the 9
it reminds me of a show from the 90s with Jonathan Brandis - another actor lost too young
was the mi 8 called
hello everyone :)
ok, I remember that show had se ocean word in it
hi nan
I don't think so, ru.
it didn't have the word in it, it just SOUNDS LIKE the 9
but yes it took place in the ocean
ok, trying to rem. the show. it also had guy from Jaws, right? it wasn't Sea something?
it was, yeah
time for the internet movie database (IMDB for everyone but ru)
and yes, it had Rob Schneider
dang, do we not get ANY sq words??
roy! rob is from SNL. I was like, huh?
Roy, Rob, i was so close, lol
I tried squeam because how can you be squeamish without squeam
ditto
i'm off to bed.. night you night owls
okay, got the 9.
Right there with you
one more S will finish yon S words
I just need 1 upper A which is like a christmas (in july) miracle
O come let us ***** him
if i got one more upper S and one more 3rd row T i would have R S T all done!
I have that one and all forms of it
I still need 9 of those S's!
not sesterces
oh, thx. that helped me get a group
it did?
6 lines in a sonnet
think jury duty, hurshy
she has that one
oh i thought you meant you got a whole GROUP of WORDS lol
haha, I wish
Ts Trounced
I finished the middle T ;)
aaah - jury duty did it for me :)
i was dying to clue it as a jury thing but i thought maybe it was too early after the flip lol
I wondered why you went with Jonathan brandis show instead of jury duty. LOL.
because i figured obscure clues were more permissible
in the first hour
sorry - thought hurshy was asking for a clue
not seeing that mi 8
an understandable confusion, cnan. i do need one more S but it isn't that one.
meanwhile i Nailed the Ns, Whacked the Ws, and Hammered the Hs
nan just got the mi 8 want a nudge?
I have 5 tiles grayed (not incl. the 0s) but as usual need 1-2 on most the others.
somehow i seem to be better at staying stubborn and determined at flip time
wondering why we can have a me 5 maid but not a man
Qs Quailing in their Qboots
stid - that mi8 is a good word for you, huh?
though you'd never! ;)
perhaps as a form of address...
not finding the mi 8
indeed, rbud! LOL more often than not...
I just found an mi7 but no 8
has to do with my profession, nan
don't tell them that 2 + 2 = 5, that would be mi8ing arithmetic
Uiet
TADA, Ss Squashed!
go hurshy go!
i will go. to bed. leaving A, C, D, F, and the bottom M for tomorrow
laterz and have fun all
Well I am down to 68, and NBT, NBS. sweet dreams all! *poof*
good night, still have to go through the bottom row
don't know what is happening with the arithmetic other than that the equation is incorrect
well, way past my bedtime, will save 47 for tomorrow. good night!
found it -- don't think that is really a word though
oh, just saw the mi8 on the way out.
makes absolutely no sense, but then that is nothing new
Why am I even here? I'm not very good at this. It might be because the people are so nice.
on my way out as well - good night everyone
Good night.

Hi all. Good morning. Can't get my head around the jury duty clue. Also stuck on the N
Any clue or sats for the 9 please?
se9.72 to isolate oneself - sort of what we are all doing during Covid
semiache - a mild pain.
I'd got the 9 and not realised!
Being thick - which s does the 9 come from - just can't see it

it's the top row Alleyn

Good morning, friends. Happy Monday.
Good morning Miss Bea. Happy Monday back at ya.
Hope you had a good weekend, Molly.
Busy, but good. And you?
Busy here too. Had the grandsons until late yesterday afternoon.
I'm pooped.
They keep you running, I'm sure. But happy.
cant get that mi8. Help please
To educate incorrectly
blow me down!! hadnt even got the second half!! Many thanks
Tx molly!
This was a fun grid.
It feels grammatically incorrect to me, but that's Babble
I'm leaving with 26 left. Taking Momma to the doctor. May be back later.
hate I missed you bea! I only have one A left! Hope your momma's okay.
Ill guess ac7
thank you, and yes. looking now.
got it!
first time ever the a's are finished early
The rest were the usual suspects
what about 1 missing m?
on top, there are still 7 missing from bottom. forgot that was there.
and mi9 but not mi7 relating to golf? I have done that almost every tee whenever I've played. ;)
I guess the cicadas are emerging. we've got some loud ones out there.
i would love to have a clue for the mi 7 and 9 please. i dont know golf.
Mi8.....to instruct badly
scroll down for a mi 9 clue
sorry it's an mi 8 not 9
yeah, sorry. mi8. and golf is not a clue because that's not accepted.
mi 7 sounds like when you have exams part way through the class, just replaced the 3rd letter
i have mi 8. ty
need a 9 please.
se-to isolate a jury
need the 9 please.
se9, like OJ's jury
got it!
ty
perfect clue.

25 left, 11 of which are 2 tiles are the bottom row. it's a mystery to me where those words are.
just found 3 on the bottom row by making up stuff
That is how you play this game. Just keep typing until it takes something.
yep
Not really challenging when the words you get make no sense to you
but then you start to remember some of that nonsense
6 left after going to the list. can't even make up the right combo of letters.
5, I accidentally skipped the d's
where is MLFAN? haven't seen her here in a while.
she was here yesterday
I did say hi to her on serpentine one day recently
hello friends
morning Trif!
i hope mlf has not become the latest babbler to get fed up with the bullying and snark and quit. There have been entirely too many
hi trif
morning saani and TO, hope you both had lovely weekends
um... how do you tell the difference? :P
lololol - true fact, there
i crossed paths with a herd of deer trying to cross a busy road this AM walk. interesting.
i'm finally doing what I should have done days ago, but didn't because I am stupid and stubborn - I am resting up an ankle I badly twisted, but have been walking on anyway. It blew up like a ballooooooon on saturday. Today I am sitting down.
good for you. sometimes we need to just stop and tcb
i am not so good at resting.
i see
brb, have to yell at an errant goat....
hahah hug it for me
hes being naughty!
is the goat in your living room? :P
no, trying to eat this chromebook and my paper notebook I foolishly brought out to the patio with me.
hahahaha they will nibble anything. last time isaw one up close it was eating my t shirt
ohhhh that happens
it's sort of yucky
now my dog is running around in the goat pen. It's basically chaos here
and with all these city kids who are terrified of them anyway.
I am just going to sit here. let them work this nonsense out
well, it is boring here except yesterday i happened to be at my kitchen window and there was a woman running toward me. she exited to the street and kept running.
i have no idea. i thought i was hallucinating. i ran to the front door to yell at her and she just ran down to the main street. ?
oh my! Wonder what that was all about? did she seem hurt in any way?
what is the polite term these days? "altered?"
no. had an athletic top on and a baseball cap. just looked like a jogger.
oh hell, at this age at this time in the world verything is altered.
is jogging not allowed on your street?
it is allowed and even if not, there are not rules now. you know this.
sorry, I am confused - why then were you yelling at her? Was she in your yard or something?
yes. she was running towards the side yard to exit.
ahhhh that is troubling.
I knew I was missing something there
i wanted to know why she was there. but i am casual about leaving the back sliderunlocked when i walk. i've stopped.
I would imagine.
i mean, not a kid from the yards in the back getting a ball or something, that's fine.
yard backs up to three others on the adjacent streets, all fenced.
oh crap its raining! I need to hobble like crazy!
careful there! good day!
clue for the 1st re 6, 21 please
re + walking aid
oh jeeeex Thx Molly :)
made it, but it was toooo funny. I had out with me my chromebook, phone, class materials, and the two goats. My first instinct was to scoop everything up and chuck it on the dining room table, which is just inside the patio doors. The goats first instinct was to take the opportunity to bolt inside the "people barn" and hide under the dining room table. Keep in mind, I am moving at about .5 mph, so it was quite, quite funny. All sorted now.
M3, your icon is ADORABLE!
oh my thats so old, 2009 maybe, Chewy is no longer with us. ( its the pet i had when i signed up for Babble.
have you met scrabbler yet? You two will have MUCH to admire about each other!
Hello everyone!
and it's still an adorable photo
Im not sure hum :)
CAR!!!!
Just let the goats in next time and fend for yourself!
Please note, not a drop of rain on this side of town.
in where, the house? No way!
they are spoiled enough as it is!
Oh, I 've seen the pics...they've been in there before!
secret message for family only: speaking of spoiled, turns out someone's trip to p town is off, spoiled by covid. Womp wommmmmp.
conserve that energy my luv....
yes, but that was highly unauthorized access. NOT trying to make a habit of it!
good morning everyone :)
Phantom: ancestor
good morning cybernan
hello cybernan! welcome!
oooh great phantom!
ac 7 clue please
high playing card + red flower
great clue!
ty hun, got it
phantom: secret
excellent one as well
how is it we can have latin names for other plants, birds, insects, etc., but not the maple tree?
we should have a protest -- discrimination against Canadians :D
it really is. take to the streets!
Canadian Lives Matter!!
:P
but does enable take poutine?
it doesn't take queso :(
but it takes rye
Ok. 80 left. Time to make the dough....nuts! lOLOLOl See what I did there?
or ryes
Nope Enable doesn't take poutine
don't think it takes loonie either
there's some other weird nomative it won't take - senor but not herr, or something
wowza, how is it noon already? Time is FLYING lately
That is ridiculous. Enable takes every other obscure term for currency but not loonie?
enable is loonie
looney
i like making up words with a prefix
if you pulled up a flower, you could call that mis-we4
you threw a party on the wrong day for your friend's birthday? misfe4
we were talking Canadian, ru, and that is spelled loonie
enable is probably not Canadian
the loonie is a canadian coin, right?
not scottish enough
still can't figure out why poutine is associated with Canada though -- Quebec is the point of origin and the only place where it is really popular -- maybe it has spilled over into Ontario
yes -- the loonie is a dollar
i try that too hurshy! A lot of babbling is matching up prefixes and suffixes to see what works
because quebec is part of canada
then the toonie is 2 dollars
i just got one to work
we saw poutine in Canmore when we were there
yes but quebec certainly doesn't take up all of Canada , as much as some of them would like to think so
my VERY favorite thing though, is when I mistype something else, and it accidentally makes some random enable accepted word. Freeeeee!
You can also find poutine in Joseph, Oregon. But I didn't try to use my luck loonie.
lucky loonie!
yes, but you think things in one state here are all US, so why wouldn't we think something in part of Canada is Canadian?
yeah i forget what it was but there was one day a month or two ago where i got a typo with a double i in it for a very weird word that worked
I randomly got a scottish word for most this morning
also just guessed the ca6/30
to me Canada is BC and that's the best part
well i'm doing much less well than i was last night
I do? -- don't think so Carla -- what do I think is common to all of the states that isn't?
7 D, 5 M, 5 C, 2 F left to find
found a pair of C words
oh i suppose i should just get the list
my time is more limited than usual
only c's here for me 9 of them
I'm just saying I think that's an odd distinction to make. poutine is associated with canada because it's not really in other countries AFAIK. why does it matter if it's only a certain part of canada?
ru, do you have the ca's I was talking about, some kind of sailing ship?
another set that gave me trouble was the full word for a woman's undershirt. I just knew the shortened one and enable would not take that.
it doesn't really, other than that Canadians do not associate poutine with canada, but with quebec
ru, there's also the plural that isn't a plural c
do you associate jambalaya with the USA or with the creole states? same thing
If something is from Canada, is it not Canadian? If something is native to Canada, is it not Canadian?
full word for women's undershirt....hmmmmmm
ah. ok
yeah, but I think any other country will associate US stereotypes with the US as a whole and not specifically by state. And Molly is saying what I was trying to from the beginning, quebec is part of canada.
Yeah, I consider the full word the one that ends in ole
like a little tank top
strictly speaking it's not only an undergarment, but thanks anyway
the undergarment has a different ending.
That's what Madonna says
ah, maybe that's why I was confused about that word, forgot that version. I am used to people saying it in 4 letters
that is my point, molly -- poutine is not associated with canada here - it is associated with quebec.
me too, hokie. Also, my costumer brain is way too rigid - working on it
but our point is quebec is part of canada, so why can't we associate it with canada?
I didn't know y'all Canadians didn't consider Quebec a part of Canada. I thought only Newfoundland had to put up with that.
i have a hard time understanding what madonna says
she always has her mouth full
Well, she does have two major points Ru
plus she uses a fake british accent sometimes
It is part of Canada, just not all of Canada. All there are many Quebecers that want to separate
that she does... I was never a madonna fan
I can see why if the rest of canada doesn't include them ;)
we californians want to separate too
ha! was just thinking of y'all.
WIBD
apparently my part of VA wants to join WV. why would anyone ever??
there go the property values :D
well it's big deal?
Well I'll be Damned
carla,
divide and conquer ! ( spelling :(0
lol - don't get me started on that, carla. Like many Scots are still fighting the battle of Culloden, many Quebecois are still fighting the battle of the Plains of Abraham
Carla, WVA has gorgeous state parks. that is all i know of it.
maybe taxes are lower!
ah, good one, ru. we can start using that one.
I grew up on the border of TN, so while the VA taxes are lower, all the shopping is in TN, so double whammy.
de 6 24 clue please either :)
de + walking aid
oh jeex i cant see that C word today. Thx
dewheelchair
damn it
those are tough M3. one has a matching re6 (nan just clued). the other is alt sp of word for distinguishing or recognizing. it's scot's law of course.
dewalker
rofl
and 2nd def is archaic
whats the 3 letter of the 2nd de6 24? pweese
de + seabird with different first letter
I suspect enable is a old Scotsman
albatrose! or seegul tis all i can think off lol
i'm guessing you mean albatross or seagull
same 3rd letter as the previous
Oh yeah, i cant spell for toffee
ty ill keep looking
oh ok
that's why you are a math teacher :D
I like "for toffee" way better than when people say they can't do something for sh**. I'm going to have to start using that.
My subject is Computer Science i kinda fell into Maths. Im really dyslexic, i play this thinking it would help!!!!!!
working in a school you quickly think of alternatives :)
i get dyslexic when I get tired something in my brain just gives up I think
yeah i have good days and bad days, really depends on sleep and diet!!
my typing is so dyslexic when I play serpentine
mine too
sometimes I look at what i typed and wonder if I'm having a stroke
what is serpentine?
speed boggle against others
AHH
ru is really good
I know what my problem is but can't fix it
are you left handed, carla?
you need both hands for serpentine nan
actually i need both hands for a lot of things
wow just found the de6 ;/
a lot of people who are lefties also suffer some form of dyslexia, I've noticed
no, but I know what you're getting at, nan. mr. homie is a lefty and his brain is so opposite in everything.
im the same Hokie i eat kake handed, my brain is quicker than my body too!
I find that when I'm tired the brain won't think "backwards" anymore, which is what a leftie has to do constantly in this right handed world
and I only have problems when speed typing
oh that must be hard Cyber
hi all. help wiith te7 or me7 pls
my dad was hit with a ruler when he tried to use his left hand in scchool, his writing is apauling now !
mr. homie has always played golf righty because that's what clubs he had access to when younger. he has now borrowed a set from a lefty friend to try to learn lefty
te7 is Me :)
it does become 2nd nature , M3 -- just notice I have more problems when I'm tired.
te7 one who educates others
found the me7
ty M3
clue the me please
have always golfed left handed -- tried rh at the beginning, but felt like I was going in the wrong direction all the time.
either Me 7 :)
cyber do you have to have different bats for golf?
I have me6/7 and not sure how to clue them
only have one me 7 -- ends with golf pegs
that is the one I have
I'm pretty sure my oldest was a lefty but started writing right in preschool. I'm sure his te7's didn't make him do it, but he just followed what others were doing. he does a lot of stuff lefty and has atrocious handwriting with both hands.
ty cyber the second ME 7?
I had to look 2nd me7 up. not even sure how to clue. looks spanish.
your child sounds like me :) interesting huh
The other me7 ends in first two of the mayday signal
no def. in dictionary
Definition is a mixed race Spaniard
so it is spanish
Spanish Lives Matter!!
ty molly
no live matter. Remember your commas! lol No, lives matter. Its something we learnt at school !
I really don't know how enable makers decided which spanish words to use and which to leave out. common ones like nino/nina not in there. can't think of others right now but know I've tried them.
same with the french words, carla
also never know when -t for -ed (like learnt you just used) is allowed, so just try everything!
I think it is a matter of common usage in some English speaking countries
I mean on enable
It was whether they were in the 7 or so reference dictionaries they used
So you'd have to ask Random House, American Collegiate, Merriam-Webster etc for their criteria
well, well, well, moo makes an appearance to discuss dictionaries ;)
but of course :)
bbl, thanks for clues and giggles
any helps with me6s and 7s would be appreciated
I just have one me6, it's a flying space rock
ty!
there's me6 and two 7s at the beginning of the me words
so the third letter on those pretty much can't be T
You're welcome!
sweet
Ah! sorry!
don't be sorry, i needed the space rock also
i was just providing you some interesting info :)
me + Silver, the Lone Ranger's faithful ****d, and pl
change the last two letters to get the second 7
Now those I would have never gotten on my own, thank you kindly

Of course there is only one peri!
I'm leaving 20 in Judi's bucket. See you all tomorrow.
Hello. I have been given some unsettling news. One of my uncles has been diagnosed with COVID-19. He is in his 80s and he’s also diabetic. He was hospitalized yesterday with dehydration and low blood pressure\. He does not need a ventilator at this time. One of my aunts is in her 90s. She is Covid free, but she has dementia and has been diagnosed with bone cancer.
That's rough Angelsong.
What part of the US does he live in?
aime
soory
sorry
im giving up now
stuck with 70 left
Both are siblings and live in Texas
So very sorry to hear, Angel :-(
Sorry to hear Angelsong. If your aunt has primary bone cancer the Bone Caner Research Trust based in England is worth looking at, but if it’s secondary bone cancer, then the more mainstream cancer charities are probably a better source of information.
found the 9 :)
but no 8s
I believe Angelsong lives in the US. Is UK treatment available to her family?
found an 8.

Well, I am waiting on Mr. Bea to get home, so I will see if I can get these last 20 words...
Thank you for the ca6/7
yw....
i do Molly someone tried to get me to bend over one
Somehow I knew Bea would be back for those 20 she left in Judi's bucket.
Pen says the ca6/7 are boats. Was it an "at sea" expeience? Ugh.
I always feel like I need ot clean up after myself...
de6/21 my last word... It is past my bedtime at 8:18pm EDT...I am an old lady and I de6/21 admitting that... Been a long day and a lot of miles...
Tomorrow is blueberry picking early in the am before it gets too hot...Hope to see you sometime after...
Plum picking for me tomorrow. I am going to dehydrate them.
do you grow them or go to an orchard?
I have a plum tree.
nice....
I have a few fruit trees. Lost my pear tree a couple of years ago to fire blight :-(
bummer....
One of my apple trees got it also, but I saved it :-)
my father used to have a few apple trees.....loved picking and eating an apple fresh off the tree....
Wow, so many fruit trees. You must have a great yard.
It is really big, my lot is .25 acres. But I wouldn't say great - it's not very aesthetically pleasing - just functional.
Wow, a 1/4 acre? That is a lot of property. More than most people have. You are fortunate.
I live on a cul-de-sac in an old neighborhood. My lot is shaped like an ice cream cone. My back yard is ugly, but does have the fruit trees and a lovely bamboo grove along the back fence.
I planted it all. And built raised planter boxes for vegetables. The rest is all in pea gravel.
nice, ori....
i am heading out....goodnight all....
Good night, pen
hello!
Hi phan
How are you, Ori?

My ar5/10 means "got up"
There's another ar5/10 before that one
Aha!! Tx!!
yw
Whew! 200 down and calling it quits!
I am morose, and all I see is a phantom morose
douglas, ??? you still here ??
I am here, I'm actually not too morose, but I'm not seeing much that I haven't seen
I didn't know that mi4/5 and its plural were words, so there's that.
hey douglas. i just wanted to say thank-you ever so much for your support the other day. i am pretty much back on my emotional feet, so to speak.
Good for you. I'm happy I could help.
Happy babbling all! *poof*
