Good evening/morning !
Hi there
morning all
Howdy!
ha 7 good evening everyone!
I'm trying an alternate strategy, instead of getting exactly 1 word from each tile, I'm trying to get as many words from each tile as I can.
that's what i do and i find it more effective in the long run, even though slower at first
That’s my strategy too douglas
hello everyone
hi nan!
Hey sannich!
Hi nan
ha 4/5 was in yesterday's grid
cheers origami!
I'm rarely up this time of night. But I'm listening to a Leonard Cohen album and don't want to turn it off :D
Iguess I am borinly methodical....I start at the top left hand corner and work my way down, then back up to top of next column, getting every word that I can before I move on to the next letter.
Clues are up
ditto diane
Hi there, Une.
sigh. sounds lovely ori. Did you see the comet yet?
Todays grid has thrown me though. I’m looking for as many words ending in ck as I can
No! I'm so out of touch that I didn't know there was one.
You had some very wonderful views of it from your part of the country, saanich :-)
Yes indeed! I may go out again tomight/morning
41 down and wondering where the other 59 are hiding
I belong to two of the Victoria sites and someone posted a couple of excellent shots of it. I think my sister got several too, but one has to have the right kind of camera to get a proper one.
we don't see something so bright that often. Are the sites you refer to astronomy groups?
I went out front and back and can't see it here. :-(
you will have to google it ori for the time in your area. It's called Neowise.
hi, all
well that was a nice little entree. what's for main course?
No, saanich, just groups about "Old Victoria".
good one rose!
diane those sound really interesting.
*grin* and how are all my babble friends? we have had some sunshine today. it's amazing how your spirits pick up with just that.
They are Facebook sites
oh, too bad for me -- not on FB
I should say, Facebook groups....that is more accurate.
I looked up the comet and apparently the viewing here was on 7/7. Drats!
going off to find something to do until it's time to turn on the tv. see you at the flip my friends. be safe. stay well. and if you can't be good, be careful....

I'm in the puzzle!
Hi, Tri
and so you are, phan!
friends, I could really use a good book rec - what is anyone reading that they would recommend?
The Weight of Ink
The Left Us Everything
thank you bugsaw. Will check those out
They have remained my favourites for a while
Do you have a favourite genre?
sadly, no, I tend to read all across the dewey decimal system.
me too.
Hi Trif, Bugs.
Hi ori. Been thinking about what might have been just now if not for Covid. Hope you remain well
Trif: Olive Kitteridge. Good book.
Thanks Bugs. I would probably be drinking a glass of champagne on the beach :-(
read that one, agree!
and hello origami!
I will look for it !
It has a rather unusual format. I really enjoyed it.
IIRC, I liked Olive so much I read the next couple of books about her
More books about Olive, or by the same author?
there is at least one other book about Olive - Olive, again
Nice. I'll put it in my library list.
I just put a hold on it. There are 32 people ahead of me :D
i'm reading The grass Crown, Collen McCullough. novel set in ancient Rome, but well researched by Colleen. did i say novel?? more like a tome....but very interesting if you like history.

I just did a quick count of the number of jobs I have applied for since I got my Master's degree. Wish I hadn't counted
aww TRif. share honey.
It is not you, Trif. It is the economy. With a Masters they have to pay you more and it takes a while to realize that you now have the ability to make their company better. Keep going.
and I am off to eat. Stay safe everyone.
Bye Bugs. Take care.
Champagne on the beach next year!
111 applications. FOUR interviews
i just want a chance
hard to keep the enthusiasm up
Wow, Trif. I had the impression you were a teacher. Am I right?
yes, but I do not have my own classroom. I got my masters, and hoped to find a better position. no luck at all.
Teachers are in very high demand around here.
Hang in there, I'm sure it will happen for you.
im just feeling sorry for myself. sorry
((((Trifioso))))) Hope you find something. A lot of districts still don't have a plan for the coming year. There may be some online positions opening up to support the children who will not be in the physical classroom.
thank you. I do apologize for whinign
Good evening, all. What type of position are you hoping for Trifi?
Hi Nef!
English teacher, high school, grades 9-12
