do both the words from the u head in the same direction?
sorry, all three, i mean
one heads up, to the right
To make a friend with someone is to embud them. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
embud is to harvest pot in mendocino
I love when words have double meanings.

si 6 are tv shows that are supposed to be funny
never mind what isn't in the grid...concentrate on what is!! lol
ty Luv

yw
m4/5 mkg
is the m 4/5 a u word? confused.
i dont recall asking for an m word clue. missing u words.
mkg um
pr 6/24 please?
um 4/5
hallowe'en requires a good co7 the pt

mkg i monkeyed it:)
one last need: the E first column is still blank. any clues? ty
i also monkeyed it. not a real word.
just looked at meaning and no wonder i never saw it before.
ed 5/16 mussolini minus the L
ty.
does the 9 start with po4 a body of water?
No
got en 5. so nbt and nbs. ty all cluers.
po 9 is to delay something
no mlfan. it is a past tense word. present tense is the 8

pond
crap... sorry
yeah thats what i thought bonk .. but obviously wrong po
ty got it
mu6?
it's a sort of medically word, to do with the wet places like your mouth, nose, and eyes
phantom: utopia
morning all, happy Friday
morning moo
ty hursh
hey hursh
last word...cu5/14...just can't see it
the first cu5/14 the deepest
baby I know
When it comes to being lucky she's cursed
there is only one cu5/14...
yeah, the whole thing was the clue, phae, it's song lyrics where i smushed two words together to make the cu5/14
Hursh is cluing song lyrics
I thought it was a clever clue
I thought it was great
sorry just a little dense today
it's a bagel day
(cause bagels are dense)
If we are going dense food, let's go chocolate
chocolate isn't always dense
sometimes it is light and fluffy
that is why i do not get why people are so fond of bagels though, because they are just way too dense
i'd always rather have a nice (english) muffin
here i go, killing the chat with my overly judgmental food opinions again
You are entitled to your opinions Hursh. (Bets Hursh likes scones)
scones good yes
I had some orange/cranberry scones a while back that were amazing.
now i want to make some scones
in New Zealand we include what are called biscuits here in the US as scones
yeah, i mean, the only difference between US biscuits and scones is that scones have a little sugar in the recipe
Scones are much better than biscuits
But I do like some biscuits and sausage gravy now and again.
phantoms; embed, emeu
Of course the term biscuit is already applied to cookies, so there's that
yeah
condemn as well hursh
YES
and denim
woohoo, monkeyed a pair of um words
I love the term "digestive biscuits" for graham crackers. Makes them seem medicinal.
In NZ, digestive's were a kind of graham cracker with chocolate on the bottom
makes them sound like they won't taste good
lol
Biscuits and mater gravy (if made well) are the bomb-diggity.
bomb-diggity? nice.
I've never had tomato gravy
Oh it has bacon in it. I'm in.
In Philly a significant portion of the population call pasta and sauce - macaroni and gravy
i'm out
i know i'm weird but even before i went off meat, i never did like bacon. i like the flavor alright but the actual eating of it, the texture, idk what it is exactly...
I much prefer it over sausage gravy, lol. Yes, I add bacon, ham, bell peppers, onions, etc... it's more of a stew, I guess, but still mostly gravy.
but i always disliked sausage more than i disliked bacon lol
Bs Bopped!
A lot of Italian people refer to red sauce as "gravy"
are there any PR words?
I don't have any, but still missing 5 from that P
One pr word
ty molly!
ty
hebrew plural of an ancient coin
dang, i was expecting that one to be a no
I had to look that one up Harry
ugh, that sounds like the most egregious of coin word inclusions then
my daughter made pancakes....they taste like baking powder.....but good with coffee anyway
she loves to cook, but as much as I love her, she's just not that good at it.
You are a good Dad to suffer in silence. : D
does an electronic cigarette make an ebutt?
cause I can't fgure out that bottom E.
or would a khardashian robot have an ebutt?
I hear you can buy some ebutt on the porno version of eBay
e + fix a rip
ty dan :)
(though I like ebutt better)
hah! good one molly
can I have a clue for the other H? I have the sewing related pt
he4/6
never mind it was a 4 I hadn't tried - peri'ed it
well, i haven't found either 8 or the 9, anyone want to tell me what to look for?
ty hursh
po8/9 put off & pt
ah cool thanks
8/9 if you push off your wedding a few months till corona is finished
yeah, i do feel kinda bad for people in that situation
co7/8 done up for halloween
thanks again, dan
should have seen these, sigh
phantom: rustic
I feeel bad for a lot of folks. Graduates who didn't get graduations (or proms), people who have had to postpone weddings, new grandparents who can't get their hands on their new grandbabies (our Matty)
that S sure is hard
oh! that co is twisty
if everybody took it seriously for 6-8 weeks, we'd be able to do what NZ has done. But we have too many people convinced that they don't have to change their behavior just because it would help others
I'm "attending" yet another zoom wedding on Sunday. I've already been to a few zoom funerals, 2 zoom bat mitzvahs and this will be my second zoom wedding.
wow, i suddenly feel incredibly friendless, i haven't had any of those things! lol
alot of it is through my kids.
this wedding on sunday is my cousin's child
I'm sad that people are having to celebrate those things via zoom
guess the weddings are cheaper with no food to provide :D
I did my 50th birthday by zoom
On the plus side, I was able to have friends and family from around the world
and I feel guilty so I still send a gift...they end up doing pretty well.
No food, no dancing, no cake, sniff
heppy bday mool
Oh, it was like 6 weeks ago :)
now why didn't i think of a zoom birthday party? all i did was wear a dress and get myself sushi and fruit salad for lunch
oh dear hurshy that just sounds so sad. though I generally just have a beer for my birthday. on second thought that's what I do when it's not my birthday too.
phantom: stupor
*High fives Harry*
i've only had like 3 really good birthdays
Sounds like a good practice HH
I did my 60th birthday as a 'virtual party' on Facebook. Well, three of my older friends arrived on my doorstep with wine and presents, saying "Your invite didn't say what time the virtual party was starting, so we hope we didn't miss it!" lololol!
thankfully, this happened at a time in history when we are still able to be in contact with others by phoning, messaging and visuals via various apps.
that's sweet ch
It's amazing how we all have different ways of celebrating. Wearing a dress and eating sushi and fruit salad sounds like my idea of a punishment. : D
I could go for some fruit salad.
ok, i know a lot of people don't like sushi, but how can you not like fruit salad??
I just hate when it has bananas and they get brown.
Yeah, I'd do the fruit salad...not a fish eater though, sushi or otherwise
With ya on that one, Molly, lol
yes, bananas should only be added at the time of serving
Passionfruit if you can get it
mine had kiwi, mango, strawberries, and blueberries
wow you guys are fancy.
apples peaches and melon, maybe blueberries if they're in season.
Hursh, I hate to break it to you, but I'm not a big cat lover either. *Gets the smelling salts for Hursh*
OK gotta go get stuff done. Been lovely - later!
the biggest mistake people make with fruit salad is to put any kind of oranges in. they just overpower all the other flavors.
If it's any consolation I made pizza for dinner last night
Consolation for what?
detailed toppings, mool, detailed toppings! lol
i don't use apples either, because while i love apples, i don't feel that they fit with many tropical fruits and berries and stuff
artichoke, black olives, bell pepper, cherry tomato and some salami
good morning all - another scorcher today
i wish i could just find ONE more S word before listing
hey nan, happy friday
how about something you receive to offset the meal and expense costs while working hursh?
yay, thank you moo!!
oh, yum! that sounds like a great combo! Will have to give it a whirl! (note to self, write it down)
Also use fresh spinach a lot, but didn't have any
if you're getting the artichoke out of the fridge, doesn't hurt to bring it to room temp first, and also good idea to drain it to avoid soggy pizza
white or red sauce?
likewise cherry tomato can help in that regard
used red sauce for that one
sometimes will do pesto instead
Naan bread works great for experimental pizzas
i made pizza on some garlic naan and that was yummy for a base
jinx, moo!
and season to taste... I like and it's been AGEs since I made pizza, lol.
Yeah, naan is great, you can even do it on the bbq
Hello hello hello
Grilled zucchini, japanese eggplant and bell pepper with fresh mozzarella on pesto on the naan...grill it up
yeah that sounds great
Just grill the veg first, and then add to your naan
the japanese eggplant has a little more flavor than the regular, if you can find it
if you don't want to grill, you can also do it in oven
I can't believe it. It's working. I've been using Lickety to keep track (owe him lots of thanks) and hoping Dr. God would be able to recreate the rest of his universe, Now that I know you're all here, I
'm going out for some fresh air.
I knew I should've showered first
oh dear. Now I've gone invisible....
si6?
Hi jwr
aHA i found it
it is a funny type of TV show, usually 30 min
Oh hey. amelu are you invisible too?
usually, lol
well I never got any response from hurshy and moolingwa so i wondered. And who knows - technology ... sunspots ... viruses
how are you these days
I’m invisible! Who are you? Are you – invisible – too? Then there’s a pair of us! Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!
I am as well as I can be. No stressors in our local acreage, loll
no! we're a trio!
Emily did love her punctuation marks !?!?!?!
something funny, Mol ... ah here
's ameluo back. Who's Emily
Lol. it's just that time of day.
I keep hitting ENTER
Dickenson
seems like only two people can talk at once (that sounded like my mother at the dinner table)
oh poetess
I thought that poem was somewhat famous. Maybe not.
how be ye, Molly
About Emily. I seem to remember all her lines came equipped with punctuation plus
did you have a particular one in mind
Ah weel. I do have to go out. Just dropped in on the off chance that the babble world was back to normal and I see it is ... almost. Later then.
I am stuffing me face with homemade guacamole and thin wheat cracker with a G&T because I can
my face even
help with po8/9
They had to po8 their wedding due to COVID
you will be happy to know that clothes and linens put away and clean sheet on the bed. and I am talking to myself. :)
No you aren't, peri.
merci, Molly
And i am happy for you.
Clean clothes, clean sheets, guacamole and a gin and tonic. Nothing wrong in your world.
agh. gone again.
and it is not in the 90's so that makes me happy. no sun today but that is ok
aw ty jwr
now if someone would find my missing 7s I would be very happy
Which ones do you need?
A day not in the 90's lets hear it
come to san francisco, bichon
89F here right now, supposed to reach 94
woot! finished the vowels in the 1st row, that's unheard of
bottom row gray.
well done. onto 2nd row here
89 right now but it's only 9:30am -- supposed to get to 96 today - and not a breath of air
46 left here
First column and bottom row greyed
139 left here :D
I will never catch you
you'll catch me :)
de 6 24 clue please
you know that gangster in chicago who got hit up for tax evasion?
same ending
no hun
ah, let me think then
I know he was at alcatraz and I know who it was but my mind is a complete blank LOL
but I did find de6/27 while looking, so thanks, M3
Think it was Deniro that portrayed him the movie
ok, now I rem.
not because of de niro, but it just came to me
Okay, well it has a 4 letter word as it's ending, which is also in the grid...but it's not a word that you've probably heard of outside of word games
cool hoke
ty mool
yw mix
sometimes the word is preceded by corn
the 4, not the de6
well, there you go, learned something new
the 4 is a type of bread, just learned the de6 is like a law thing
so you take away bread from someone and you de6 ;)
yeah, very odd word any way you look at it
yeah, when you prepend corn it says it means rustic or unsophisticated, so I guess it was a basic bread
sorry M3, not sure we're helping you much here
its ok ill keep looking :)
yeah, it's another name for cornbread in appalachia. source: grew up in appalachia.
ahhhh got it ty folks#
I'm sure we've succeeded in cornfusing her greatly
yay M3
but de6 is a new one to me
these P's are tough today
yep, I need 5
8 here...but focusing on them now
TGIF Babble friends!
also missing 2 m's from top row
Clue for the 9?
it has 9 letters? sorry still haven't stumbled across that one
have not seen it yet, sorry
still technically on 2nd row because I keep chatting :D
well, those were some lame p's
1 to go on the top P, 5 on the bottom one
ooh - just found a po 8-9
wow, just noticed the bottom one, thx
not potucopia
some of my meals end up as potucopias
no - but a very common word - especially in the age of covid-19
oh duh
especially given our bread convo before
upper p?
I was looking at that prefix, was struggling to find something behind it....thx for the stats nan
no...bottom one, well at least to start with ;)
28 to go
struggling on getting halfway on any 2nd row tile so far
I still have 3 tiles open on the second row...most of any row
E, C and S
top p closed but still need 4 from the bottom one
c, t and s for me
well, I did manage halfway on the T & S
oh - just found an si 6 -- movie or tv series genre
who knew enable would allow that, thx
ok -- enough - listing for the rest
still 93 left here, still on 2nd row :D
keep forgetting that t is used instead of ed for pt with some verbs
skipped ahead to last row and grayed that out!
my old english grammar teacher would be rolling over in her grave if she knew
well, finished the 2nd row e but I was trying to find 3rd row e
depom - cut the little ball off those old socks
co 7-8 please?
nm - found
don't have
no tengo
mu 6 please?
what's the point total?
and it isn't mudmen
LOL, I always miss "men" words and they are so arbitrary
lol - if only it was just the words that are abitrary and not the men themselves :)
just got to the u and a little stumped, are these regular words?
found a 4
not at all
plural it
it looks plural already
need the mu 6/27 and the pr and pt 6's -- help please?
if the pt6 isn't a regular babblet I probably won't get it. looking for the others now
what are the point totals on the p's?
found the pr -- not many places to go on that one
24 on both
and it's the lower p?
oh and monkeyed the pt
yes - would you like a clue
sure
Hi folks. Nan, the mu is a membrane.
Pt+ot4/5
pt + word having to do with hearing
thx, une
ori, I've been trying mucous and it's apparently the wrong membrane
You're on the right track, hokie.
the mu 6/27 comes from the 2nd col. m -- but no luck yet
keep trying mucous too
Yw :-)
very close....ends with spanish "thing"....
Lose the last u. It ends in a vowel
The mu is a Latin plural, I think
found it - ty - wish I spoke spanish
whew, finally. thanks, village
*Gets out The Village People outfits
*!*~*!* thanks for the help folks
yikes, thanks for the visual
you realize I will now have YMCA running through my head all day!
I think Nan should be the Indian
I am surprised you know that song, nan
Great. Now I have YMCA on an endless look in my mind.
And score! Nan knows The Village People
nah - I want to be the cop
*loop
She's holding back on us, I think. Nan is probably a secret grunge band follower.
my kids were in their teens in those days, carla
I thought they were closer to my age
they range in age from 49 to 54
ah, so the youngest is closer
yes
village people were late 70s I think, but YMCA has been played at every sporting event ever since
they were certainly in the 70's
so I am glad that you actually got the reference ;)
mmbop is in the grid too - a bow to the 90s
wonder what those kids are up to
ok - need to stop procrastinating and get out the mop -- hagd everyone and stay safe
and apologies in advance for putting that in your head
LOL, I am singing it now! not a horrible song.
Hiyas, kiddos. We also have a Disney elephant in the grid.
well, I finally made it through. still have 5 tiles I did not reach halfway on. ugh. 58 left.
huya judi, I tried dumbo and dumbos just in case
Bah . Another annoying grid. I'm out.
Judi, red alert, Peri did massive laundry this morning, including sheets.
Harry, I have a friend who really loves her girls. I say this because she took them to a Hanson concert.
I love my kids, but not that much.
cosip - 2 people sharing a drink
I agree Harry. There are limits.
I paid a friend to take one of mine to a White Zombie concert.
I think my parents took me to see the Oak Ridge Boys, not because I wanted to but because they did and just took me along.
I've told my wife that I will under no circumstances go to disney.
She can take them if she feels they're deprived.
I lucked out. Grandma took my kids to Disney.
aww, I love Disney. that's actually one of our favorite campgrounds too. the youngest goes in the parks with me but the oldest and mr. homie mostly stay at the camper.
I love Disney more than my kids.
I would stay with Mr. Homie.
Me too, especially if beer is involved.
there's definitely beer involved
hah. party at the homie's camper
with him, not me
Bring your guitar Harry
no lines no waiting no princesses
luckily I have boys, so there were never princesses.
No rides that involve listening to "It's A Small World After All"
true story, the oldest waited in a fairly long line for Baymax when he was like 15
is baymax part of disney where baywatch girls are dressed up with fairy wings?
*Lives in a cave* I had to look Baymax up
baymax is from Big Hero 6
carla, that clue does nothing for me.
I am unfamiliar with anything Disney that came along after my kids outgrew Disney
it's actually a good movie. spoiler alert, the main character's parents die. that's not really a spoiler because it happens in literally ever disney movie.
well, harry, you should watch Big Hero 6, I think you'd like it.
Baymax is like an inflatable robot doctor
ok - will look for it. I did enjoy some of the latest pixar movies. that one with the mexican land of the dead.
yes, I just watched that one recently. really good.
firewords! thanks lickety for my last 30 and all cluers. de6/24 was my last. like remove a king with a different final consonant
yay dan!
dan, did moo & I cornfuse you on that one earlier? well done
Helloo friends! Just checking in to see what the grid looked like today.
Not even going to start although is looks like fun as the first word I saw was bu4.6 and 5.16...
Until next time!
stats for bottom left corner I pls
hey, bea if you're still here. I took a shower break
im5 and 6, teach
oh, i see now that you left, bea
reading is hard
can anyone stat me up on the 1st col e?
ed5/16 is one of them
and how did bea see a bu4/6? statistically impossible, no?
thx, kramer, looking now
Carla, the Mick Jagger of Babble...Stat me up, if you stat me up I'll never stop, never stop
never never never stop
or st4 I should say
Too late, get your ass in the PB at once : D
you were first!
Yes, but I live in the PB. That is why I tend bar there.
I see
hello everyone, I am so stuck on the first ou7/40...can anyone help? Thanks
I don't have any, but will look
well it's not having gone to the bathroom more than someone else
nm got it, so easy I completely overlooked it!
yeah carla, I tried that!
hello all
Tempted to join Molly in the PB bar; it's that kind of day. See you tomorrow!
bye! and hi
well, I don't see me finding these last 38 without a list.
*sets goal to 37 before listing*
definitely should have seen some of these, so I think you've got a good chance
lol, fat chance! I still have 74 and am getting bored...
yeah, I get that
a lot of mine were past tense, and I thought I tried that on everything
woot! got one! even a blind squirrel finds the occasional nut, lol!
well, that's it for me. I need a nap now.
'til tomorrow!
can someone clue the first ou7/40 pls?
Is it "result"?
opposite of in + please **** in.
Omg I had tried everything and it was so easy.. tyvm
No, it's twisty...totally understand!
bu6,36 anyone?
beth: british for rear end, past tense?
trumped
damn it
LOL ruru....
Ah, there we go, past halfway and NBT. Will work toward NBS later... be well all *poof*
not biddened?
not yet KT not yet
I guess you're just biden your time.
too bad botics isnt a word as iin robotics.
any clues for co 7/8 combo? ty
what you wear at Halloween....
ty
yw...
got both
stas for the 9 pls?
ty
po 9/72...it's a pl....
ty
hi TO. po9 is the past tense of po8/50
i want pit stop.
hi rose, how are you?
loll, i tried it too
sorry, it is a pt and not a pl....
much better thanx TO. had treatment in hospital his week for the FM. new routine, worked well. no nausea this time and i could taste the food. very important...loll
and yourself TO. last i 'saw' you, you were not feeling well.
glad to hear this.
awaiting test results.
still kicking! musikfest has begun!
we have found out why our numbers of positive cv-19 are going up. we are now testing all inmates of aged care facilities and their staff, no exceptions. huge numbers. whole aged care facilities are being emptied into hospitals for better care.
the waiting is almost the worst part. i truly empathise. i nearly chewed all my nails off.
good, as long as they do not send them back there to convalesce. that caused deaths here
no. the plan is too keep them all 'locked down' in the hospital ward until all are well again.meanwhile the facilities are being deep cleaned.
first bo5/14 pls
i am sick of being in. i am working at the festival next friday night. social distancing is enforced, must buy your table
hi all
i also feel for the staff. they no longer have paid work. fortunately our government is going to keep up the 'job keeper' payments for all.no questions asked.
wait, they fired them?
hi peri. bo5/14, pl of bo4/6
don't have the bo4/6
no they haven't been 'fired'. just the people they were caring for are no longer at their work place.
they moved all of them?
peri, b04/6, short for automaton + vowel
yes, TO. without exception.
oh, got it
ty rose
i need to buckle down to this one. good night, rose
it's the only way to make sure all the sickies are found and cared for at the same time.
night TO. happy babbling
what if one is not sick or positive?
then they are moved into a shared room with others who are not positive. the obviously sick ones are put together.
ah, i see. bye!
It's sad. This virus seems to be wiping out the sick, elderly population.
agreed Molly. but we are now also finding new borns with cv-19 too. it is so tragic.
and with the 20-30 year olds not being compliant, that generation is dying too.
that really doesn't leave a lot of fertile people to raise the next generation .
All due respect to all those comments, I'm not ready to believe that this is the end of everything.
i pray it is not, too Molly. but the figures are mind-blowing. i'm not sure but i think we have passed the numbers form the Spanish flu pandemic in the early 1900's.
We human beings have an amazing resiliency. And I think that has to do with our capacity for hope and belief. This is the time for the collective soul to believe in the best.
Negative, doom and gloom vibes about what is going on don't really do any of us any good. Enough of my thoughts on this.
thanx Molly. i acknowledge i was more than just a litle negative. it is the first time i have tried to put my thoughts on this virus into words. we must persevere through this. you are so right. and hope is one of the greatest ways to overcome despair.
That's okay. It's a hard thing to work through.
Rose - You got to stop watching the 11am media address by Dan. Yes it is depressing and at the moment never ending down here in Victoria but it will if we can ALL do the right thing. PS Spanish Flu killed some 50 million and at 674 thousand for Covid (all worldwide) obviously doctors and scientists have made huge progress over the years and we all trust they will find a cure /vaccine for this one in the not too distant future.
*wry grin* stopped watching Dan the man weeks ago. found it too hard . and thanx for the number crunch. i was wondering. btw i'm starting back with my psychologist hopefully next week. this last lock down has brought me dangerously low.
At least other countries have leaders that care about the people. The United States has to put with a leader who only thinks about himself and his poll numbers.
All we can do is stay safe Rose...and both of us can be grateful we are in comfortable homes with gardens we can go out into as many haven't got those luxuries. I assume you are doing things through your church? Like making masks! Anyhow, keep safe.
jpc, my prayers have not stopped for the citizens of the USofA. it's been so tough watching all the shenanigans going on. i am a newly rcognised empath. which explains why i truly deeply feel others emotions.
Bye all
lyn, would you believe i am still cooking for the community? the only thing i can do is make soups which can be froze. under strict controls these are being given to those in the community who cannot fend for themselves. at least i know i may have stopped someone's hunger, if only for a little while.
have a lovely day, lyn. enjoy the sunshine.
