i like easy :D

9:40 am

Or "fun" (that one kills me)

wow, missed a bird that I always get

sometimes they are fun. but that is not this day.

9:40 am

i find that smaller grids are rarely fun for me....hello all....

same. and hi

9:43 am

i am down to 20 and out of patience.....going to list....

9:43 am

(puts more xanax in the PB)

9:43 am

I'm not sure I would call cr7 "regular"

note to self: take everything ru says with a grain of salt

omg, I tried the madagascar mammal earlier JIC as I usually do when there's a c. and I know there are alt sp.but couldn't remember.

2 left that I skipped, cr7 and fr6

9:47 am

hokie'

9:47 am

hokie is going to need blood pressure medicine with that much salt :D

looked up the fr6 - of course more british spelling

9:54 am

Madagascar mammal?

9:54 am

Oh te6

yes, ta6 in this case

10:03 am

looked up the cr7, not really in my vocab

10:04 am

i am down to 2.....that cr 7 and na 6 (second one)....

10:05 am

one....you can guess which....

10:06 am

cr7?

10:06 am

yes...

10:07 am

oh, it's like a notched leaf, easy peasy

10:08 am

not a word i use, I guess....

10:08 am

Seriously? Notched leaves are like a general topic of conversation? Easy peasy?

10:09 am

/sarcasm

10:10 am

for anyone that needs a clue, it's similar to (one letter off) burning a body

10:10 am

found it....we have had it before.....i am done...

10:11 am

we've definitely had it before but I wouldn't call it regular

10:11 am

I am going on a bike ride. have a good day, y'all!

10:12 am

bye carla....

81 words and not one 7...strange little grid.

10:14 am

We have had lwei before, but I wouldn't call that regular either.

10:14 am

not a regular word, no....but i usually remember lwei for some reason....

10:15 am

i had the day free so I was hoping for a big grid...

ok now have one, when i saw the phrase notched leaves i got it. sad.

18 for later. it's a lazy day here but i need to start packing up the ktchen for the painter.

10:20 am

bye, TO....

10:24 am

i am heading out as well....*waving to the lurkers*....

10:32 am

heidy ho good neighbors

hi, hurshy

10:34 am

hi ms decoder

:-)

10:37 am

woot, i found the 8, and Es Exterminated!

10:39 am

funny that you can be a miscreant but you cannot be a creant

10:41 am

phantoms: cafe, carafe

10:53 am

funny people were talking about cr7 being one of their last words, that's the only 7 i actually got! anyone want to tell me what any others start with?

10:54 am

i thought i could make a horse a cl7, from the cl4 noise the hooves make, but no dice

11:01 am

cr 6/21, pls

11:03 am

i'm going to cr6 a beautiful sculpture

11:03 am

Why am I not surprised that Hurshy got the word others took all grid to find?

11:03 am

or painting or whatever

11:03 am

but i didn't get any OTHER 7s, which it sounds like other people did. so i'm not better, i'm just weirder

11:03 am

*Looks up* I didn't say that

11:04 am

ty hurshy

11:06 am

Rs Routed!

11:09 am

so... yeah... any other 7s?

11:11 am

I only have an7

11:12 am

well that's a 7, so, that's good!

11:14 am

all i can think is antenna tho

11:15 am

found the cr7 too

11:15 am

there is a pe7 but I do not have it

11:15 am

peri, clue, pls

11:16 am

for cr7, you just stick a new letter in fourth position in your cr6

11:16 am

Pe7 sounds like what goes in a cigarette lighter (the gas that fuels it)

11:16 am

cr7 ends in nickname for nathaniel

11:16 am

idk if you meant that or the an7

11:16 am

thanks molly

11:17 am

ty peri

11:17 am

ty Molly

11:17 am

what is the last 7 please?

11:17 am

I have an, cr, and pe

11:18 am

could you clue the an7?

11:19 am

Picnic pest, grizzly

11:20 am

ah thanks. the one that ends lion i remember, but this one not so much!

11:20 am

hurshy do you have all the 7's now

11:21 am

no, i don't have whatever the other one is that you don't have

11:21 am

7's an, ce, cr, pe

11:21 am

ty looking

11:21 am

aha, ce

11:22 am

thanks molly

11:22 am

5 words to go now

11:22 am

have 2 ce6 but not ce7

11:22 am

39 here

11:23 am

it's probably a word for the area of something, like a hec**** of land, only this is 100

11:23 am

ty Molly and hurshy

11:24 am

Hurshy, the walking dictionary

11:25 am

well that's just my guess

11:25 am

cannot confirm as dictionary.com is not working

11:26 am

she says, as if there aren't any other online tools to use...

11:26 am

yes, i am correct

11:26 am

It's one hundredth of an are, whatever an are is

11:27 am

well it says the ce7 is one square meter, and an are is 100 square meters

11:28 am

and the hec**** is 100 of those, so 10,000 square meters!

11:29 am

and a conversion search tells me that a hec**** is about 2.5 acres, then

11:29 am

ok, i'm down to TIN (or NIT)

11:30 am

hidey hodey all

11:30 am

hiya mool

11:30 am

hey hursh, happy Wednesday

11:32 am

remember in Winnie the Pooh when it was Windsday? :D

11:32 am

the blustery day

11:34 am

IN

11:34 am

N

11:35 am

done

11:35 am

congrats, I've got 54 left...just started

11:36 am

zipping right along

11:37 am

yeah, seems reasonable so far

11:40 am

20 to go...

12:46 pm

37 for me

12:55 pm

it is not reasonable for mere mortals

1:02 pm

Hmm, some Star Trek reference that I can't figure out

1:03 pm

Help with the an 7/36 - please.

1:06 pm

Picnic pest, grizzly

1:07 pm

I don't know how I missed that - thanks so much/.

1:09 pm

good clue MollyL, I always look up the meaning for a word I am unfamiliar with and guess what it's a 'Do You Mean?' or 'no results found.' ugh!

not me - I don't really know Star Trek

1:10 pm

google it - it's an aardvark!

1:10 pm

google it - it's an aardvark!

1:10 pm

I'm so excited I typed it twice.

1:10 pm

that's my default answer for any unidentified word...it's an aardvark!

1:11 pm

or a kookaburra

1:11 pm

no, there's only one kookaburra

1:11 pm

keep me cockatoo cool kurt

1:11 pm

either that or it's some body part or obscure reference to insects

1:11 pm

or something like that

1:12 pm

I guess there's those botantical terms too

1:12 pm

and burmese dresses

1:12 pm

keep me cockatoo cool, fool

1:12 pm

ty aussie :) glad somebody knows the song

1:12 pm

(not calling you FOOL hARRY, THAT'S HOW THE SONG GOES)

1:12 pm

one wonders why you'd want a chilled sulphur crested...but to each their own

1:13 pm

Oops, shouty capitals, apologies

1:13 pm

sometimes you just have to be emphatic

1:16 pm

33 to go. bbl.

1:22 pm

10 left here

ru said it was easy, you got this

1:25 pm

oh, okay :)

1:25 pm

9 :)

1:26 pm

four of them are 4s so that's encouraging

he also told me one of the 7's was a regular word, when the rest of us disagree

1:27 pm

I have three 7s, and none of them are regular

1:27 pm

8 to go

I think I still had 5 4's when I went to the list and some of them I should have gotten.

1:28 pm

last two words I've gotten were 4s...7 to go

1:30 pm

well, I found my way into the en8 :)

1:30 pm

that really captured my attention aussie

1:32 pm

I also see we have a phantom goose today

1:35 pm

honk if you see it

1:36 pm

honk honk

1:36 pm

you found the brant?

what tiles do you have left, moo?

1:39 pm

F, R, A, N, T and O

1:39 pm

aka NOT FAR

the o has a real word and then one not in my vocab but we've had before

the N is probably the one that is a former Carolina Panther that lives/d in my neighborhood (see, not giving it away)

1:48 pm

I know what you means

1:48 pm

and yes, it was

HA! did not expect you to get that one

1:49 pm

He was a Jaguar tho I thought

I played a tennis league with his (ex?) wife, who I think was a panthers cheerleader at one point. she is super nice.

1:49 pm

Had him on my fantasy team in the late 90s or early 2000s don't know for sure

pretty sure he started here, maybe ended his career at Jax

I think he played college at UNC, maybe NC State

1:50 pm

could well have, stopped following football many years ago

I did fantasy football and baseball when I had a job pre-kids.

looks like his name actually has a vowel on the end (still in the grid though)

appears he played for the Chargers, the Jags, and then only one season at Carolina. but he grew up here in my county, so I guess that's why he settled here.

1:53 pm

yeah, makes sense

so, 6 left or you found more while I was blabbing on

1:54 pm

5 to go

1:55 pm

got the one we've been babbling about

1:55 pm

trying to find the two 4s I have left

1:57 pm

got the T...four to go

madagascar?

1:58 pm

no, had that one

1:58 pm

it was a four

my last F was a tricky spelling but you should get that

2:41 pm

hi everyone - late start today, so it's nice to see some familiar "faces" here :)

2:45 pm

guess I spoke too soon

hey nan, I'm just in and out, working in my sewing room/office on this rainy day

moo must've had to do actual work

will be glad to clue anything

2:54 pm

sorry about the rain -- sunny and hot here - staying in the A/C

2:55 pm

just finished the first run through

2:56 pm

will probably need help later though, ty

2:58 pm

still 4 left here

well, the rain is keeping the temp to 75F and it's a light rain, so I'm okay with it.

2:58 pm

41 here last I looked

back up to 90 there yet, moo?

2:58 pm

snow is mostly melted tho

41F?

2:58 pm

couple more days and will be back in 80s

2:58 pm

yeah

2:59 pm

hi mool

2:59 pm

hey nan, happy Wednesday

2:59 pm

15C or 59 american here atm. Howdy my babble friends. :)

Did we ignore/Albert Gore?

2:59 pm

More like 5C here :)

2:59 pm

hi crossy

3:00 pm

31C here

I am fine with the metric system for distance, but I still think F is better than C for temp.

IDK, Kap. Is that some kind of poetry?

or is he in the news? I don't follow the news right now.

3:01 pm

well I've lived half my life with C and half with F....C makes a lot more sense to me, but I use F because of where I live

my youngest (who is 18 today) is a bit of a math genius so we made him do all the conversions when we went to Canada last year.

3:03 pm

9/5 + 32 from C to F, or -32 5/9 going the other way

maybe F would make more sense to me if you learned it first, moo

yeah, I knew 9 was involved somehow

sense to you, not me

3:04 pm

pe 7 please

3:04 pm

only news we watch now is the BC covid update and our local evening news. All of our news channels seem to be dominated by the American election and I have had fake news, sensationalism about who is corrupting what and the lyin' king to last a lifetime

it's chemistry, nancy!

helpful? not to most people

3:05 pm

a subject i am very bad in

3:05 pm

Well I think you could objectively argue that C being based on freezing and thawing of water, using 100 degrees of separation, makes more sense than Fahrenheit's (with a mild fever) of using human body temperate as the 100 point

3:05 pm

I am the last of a dying breed with it comes to the metric system and the old imperial measurement system. here we changed over in 1978, I believe, and now, some 42 years later only the metric system that our young people know and practice. I am percetly comfortasbl;e bouncing back and forth between the two systems, but even at this later stage of my life fish will always be measured in pounds and inches, and beer will forevermore be in pints!

3:05 pm

not that I'm really invested in the argument either way

3:05 pm

know the first four letters but cant get the last 3

uh, ****-up rage + meth***. horrible clue

3:06 pm

got it hokie ty

3:06 pm

2.54 cm to an inch ~1.6km to a mile, 2.2lb to the kg

3:07 pm

not a horrible clue

3:07 pm

The gallon to litre measurement is more complicated, because it depends which gallon you use

3:07 pm

cr 7 please?

3:07 pm

fluid ounces is a curious one

BTW, when we were in Canada, the youngest was sick so the oldest & I bought a thermometer while we were out and then when I took his temp, it came up in C so then he had to convert it to F for me, while he had fever and chills.

3:07 pm

do you know what the bumps are on castle walls nan?

3:07 pm

yes, the american gallon has 3.78 litres while the old Canadian gallon had 4.11 litres.

nan, like burning a body but change a letter

or a notched edge of a leaf, nan

3:09 pm

re6/24, ols

3:09 pm

ty everyone

3:09 pm

to give money back

I can get by on distance based on knowing a 5k race is 3.1 miles, but I don't like to do it.

it's really weird driving a car in Canada because you look down and the speedometer makes you panic until you realize it's km per hour

3:12 pm

lol. I think cars for the U.S market have the MPH on the outrside of the display and the Kph on the inside, and with the cars for the Canadian market it is reversed. Digital displays can be adjusted to display either one.

exactly

3:13 pm

What does bother me is when I drive a beautiful classic car and I have to do conversions in my head constantly when driving. :)

drive a lot of those?

3:14 pm

ty mool

3:14 pm

Have driven quite a few in my lifetime so far.

3:15 pm

ah, there's my last 4

3:15 pm

A 1964 Impala, an old Ford Galaxy, and a 1973 Chevy Vega--oh, also a old Chrysler Imperial.

3:16 pm

oh, there's the o

what was it moo?

3:16 pm

2 to go

3:16 pm

r4

I don't reckon I've ever driven a car older than me

3:17 pm

Not sure I have either for that matter

3:17 pm

I've driven tractors older than me

my mom had a cool 70s Jeep Cherokee but my brother wrecked it before I was driving. still wasn't older than me though.

I don't reckon I've ever driven a tractor either

3:18 pm

wait till you get behind the wheel of a Model A or similar vehicle. Many of them are gravity feed with the fuel tank, and you have to turn a inline valve, then retard the spark, set the throttle and choke, as well as a whole host of ther things we do not even think of anymore when starting a vehicle.

3:18 pm

driven tractors, forklifts...hydraladders (aka cherry pickers)

3:18 pm

boats

I think I have driven a car without power steering and that's a lot of work

3:19 pm

lol - any cars older than me are in a museum :)

3:19 pm

My Vega had manual steering and brakes. :)

I have driven boats!

I never knew a cherry picker had a real name

I drove a snowmobile once in Canada. I guess some little motorcycles and ATVs too, but that's it.

3:22 pm

need to get some lunch - bbl

well, I've also driven our 40' motorhome

3:22 pm

lol. I grew up in the north. Knew how to drive a Kitty-kat snowmobile and a 12 foot aluminum boat before I could ride a bicycle. :)

3:23 pm

The boat, with a 9.9 hp outboard motor came more naturally than anything else. :)

I grew up in the appalachian mountains but was somewhat a "city" girl compared to my cousins that lived the farm life.

3:27 pm

Hey Crossy!!

3:31 pm
