Hi, All

7:22 am

<gasp> "yeet" isn't in the dictionary?!?

7:23 am

I know!

I just heard of yeet yesterday for the first time ever. I think that slang is way too new.

7:34 am

Yeet...it's the new woot. I don't care for either. Sounds too teeny-bopperish.

I forgot the context my friend said her daughter used it. It wasn’t like woot when she used it.

I had to ask her 3x what she was saying and then asked for the spelling

7:36 am

Really? When I looked it up it says "Yeet is an exclamation of excitement, approval, surprise, or all-around energy, often as issued when doing a dance move or throwing something."

She said something like “those girls have a lot of yeet” and she was talking about mean girls, so I thought she meant they were cocky

5:40 pm

Good evening all. Distinct Autumnal chill in the air here. The leaves are changing colour. I feel like I’ve been swindled out of Summer 2020. Pubs shut since March 12th. (Shock horror). Despite severe restrictions, the number of infections are rising daily. I’m sick & tired of Covid19. I’m weary of working from home. I’m missing my kids/grandson in the UK who can’t come home because of quarantining. I’m sorry for moaning.

Hugs Soodle. It’s sh## isn’t it

5:48 pm

Thanks Chrissie. I’m feeling particularly morose tonight. And yep! It’s shite. Andi it’s gone on too long. And by me posting my mini-rant Here on Babble - it’ll all go away...🙄🙄🙄

I wish

We’re going to the rule of 6 on Monday

5:50 pm

What are the stats for infection like in Lancashire?

Today we had 6 adults and my one year old nephew, in 2 days we would be fined for that

45 in the last 2 weeks

What are the stats by you?

5:53 pm

we can't even have one - except if you are a single household - then you can have one. And no visitors inside home for another 2 months

5:53 pm

The powers that be are struggling to formulate any sort of cohesive plan. I think they are making it up as they go along.

Wow lyn, that’s harsh

5:55 pm

not sure of the stats, but an a erage of 150/230 new cases per day. Significant decrease in death rates

5:56 pm

Very harsh and going on for a long time - but it is working. We have mask, curfew and 5km restriction etc etc. But it is v hard - would love to see my kids

5:56 pm

Yikes Lynn. That’s tricky.

5:57 pm

but we were up to some 700 new infections perday and now down to below 50. Sad;ly it got into aged care homes this times so lots of deaths (for us)

hello lyn

5:58 pm

Hi Owl!

wating for the dinner bell. thought i'd say hi before it rings.

5:59 pm

To get from 700 per day to under 50 per day is impressive

there it is!

We had many deaths in the first few months but most were elderly or with underlying health conditions

5:59 pm

Enjoy Owl

5:59 pm

Om nom nom Owl. Enjoy

6:02 pm

same here Chrissie. The elderly seem to have been sacrificed to keep acute hospital beds open for younger fitter victims of this damn. Irus

6:04 pm

Wasn't the case here but lack of PPE or incorrect use, plus caual staff who where working between facilities have been pinpointed. Plus it is just so damn infectious

6:06 pm

Even though these sort of pandemics have been expected for years, except for a few countries, no-one bothered to really be prepared for them.

6:06 pm

Mybe next time...

I was very supportive of our government’s actions initially, but not so now. When they told everyone to go back to offices to save the coffee shops they lost all credibility with me

6:10 pm

I was surprised to see people travelling again over there as well

6:10 pm

It probably happened all over the world, but many banks here ga e mortgage breaks to their customers for the duration of lockdown. Many people had a few shillings saved for their annual holidays. The result is that people have a bit more cash in their pocket at the moment, and there’s not a tradesman to be got Who’da thunk?

6:13 pm

because tradesmen can't work? or they are too busy?4

6:14 pm

I do wish they would stop spelling the Australian bird like that - so wrong!

Too tired to finish. Goodnight all

6:18 pm

bye Chrissie

lyn heard a new (to me) band from over there. vintage crop.
