To soften butter in the microwave, put a cold stick in and then 5 seconds, turn it, five more seconds, turn it, five more seconds. Check for softness then make five more on the last side. It works great.

Here, there is occasional discussion of eliminating DST. The twice-annual time changes are jarring. (Saskatchewan doesn't have it.)
But in Alberta we probably won't change it unless the US does.
I'd be OK with eliminating either one, but I agree that the time changes are silly.
It's even more confusing since I guess different parts of the world switch at somewhat different times.

so weird. I'm seeing the pumpkin in the chat and the blue quilt when I click my profile. I would at least expect it to stay the pumpkin on my end until sufficiently refreshed, not revert back to a previous one.
You may need to refresh in each window separately. Your browser is probably using the cache for each.

Refreshing in each worked for me. I was seeing the pumpkin in both windows before.

Safari. I've recently gone back to Chrome with everything else but I cannot get my babble login to work in Chrome. I literally just changed it on Safari and then entered the exact thing on Chrome and it says there is an error with either my email or password.
just did manage passwords and I had 4 saved for babble on chrome, but that shouldn't matter since I was typing the new password and not autofilling. deleted the 4 just the same. guess I could do "forgot password" from chrome and see what happens.
okay, solved the password problem by having it emailed to me by clicking forgot password. when you make a new password it looks like you can do more digits than you actually can, so it is truncating what you think your password is, that's why it won't work when you try to sign in with the longer one.

so just for future reference if anyone resets their password and can't get in - it's 12 digits max

yeah, I had entered 13 and when that wasn't working I allowed safari to create one and those are a lot longer and it took but then when I entered that back in it didn't match because it had been cut off at 12.

I don't think this password thing is Mac specific, but maybe you are referring to the refresh problem
Refresh problem and the password thing. None of the sites I use that require a password require 13 characters.
no, I think dr. god designed this site for 12 digits or less and has never changed it or updated it to current password standards. I didn't say anything about sites requiring 13 characters and sites aren't specific to macs or windows, so many sites I use are also used by windows people.
My password here is way less than 13 characters so that is not correct

sorry, I'm sure I am confusing. will try to make it clearer...1) I tried making my password more than 12 digits here. I didn't have to, but mine are usually long. 2) it looked like it accepted the long password but it really didn't, it cut it off at 12 3) so when I thought I was signing in with my correct long password it kept saying it was invalid.
