well - it's not batman or bagman
person WHO
has to do with the election, the ba 6 and 8. no seven.
but cnan is saying she HAS a 7, which is presumably unrelated
duh - ty
For the record... I'm Batman.
gooish -- is not a word
yes it is unrelated and have no idea what it means -- monkeyed it looking for the 8
batman? disguised at the lorax? (TILT)
the 8 is from the ba 6 having to do with elections.
well cnan, maybe you can clue it for us somehow?
ty all, got the 8
found a monster from Lord of the Rings
i was gonna do that as a name that fictional noun!
What can I tell you, Gwen. I am like an onion - layered. Or I make people cry. I can never remember which it is....

There is a town in the Highlands in Aberdeenshire witha similar name
*giggle*

is it the one that looks like a strange typo of the fruit, Nan?
begins like the knitted toque that you pull down over your face (eyeholes and mouth hole) when it is really cold out -- or maybe when you are robbing a bank
he threw a ***l ** me just ** i was about to tell him something

just one
follow my thread of posts for all the Ws
apologies if people were not wanting clues, i got over-excited
Considering that I was one of the first to get the 8, my brain isn't working very well
interesting note: no gallow, only gallows. BUT, apparently, IF it connected, we COULD have cahoot, not only cahoots!
I guess a cahoot is something you have by yourself?
wa 6-7
cahooting with myself, oh-oh cahooting with myself when there's nothing to lose and there's nothing to prove i'm cahooting with myself
There's a wa5 wa5 in Ontario too, with a giant goose sculpture.
name that proper noun! swedish car make
Gillie are you in ON or AB?
AB, but I spent a bit of time in Ottawa years ago
if you do it with a friend, you can call yourselves Cahooters
ok - thought you were in AB
and if you open a restaurant called cahooters, and the first two lightbulbs burn out, then the men who come in are going to be sadly disappointed
oh - buy those girls another drink!
te7!!!!!
sorry i'm REALLY excited about things tonight, idk why
SATB shoul be a word. it's used in music, although it's an abbreviation.
i think we have quite enough wacky words without that one, thank you
Sorry - the goose is in Wawa. A music professor once had a contest for the most chiasmi (musical representation of the cross) we could find in a work by J.S. Bach, and the prize was a placemat with a picture of the Wawa goose (in full flight).
releif that the federal train has headed back to the track?
You mean COVID benefits?
federal train, covid benefits, i can't follow this at all
no -- I was asking Hurshy if that is why she was feeling giddy
oh, no, didn't even know what the federal train was doing
it's just having watched home alone and feeling festive probably
looks like Trumps days are numbered - no?
all our days are numbered (she said, trying to be somber)

i am sure you will all be sorry to learn that even if we had two Ss, asshat would not count (though i notice that spellcheck for the chat did not red underline it, so that's funny)
75 down - calling it a night -- stay safe everyone :)
Te7 if it’s not been called
i called it. very excitedly
Ah, I missed the excitement!
don't worry i have 13 words left and more excitement where that came from
'course if i can't FIND any of 'em then there is less excitement
kosher counts when it is here, so shouldn't halal also count?
and I always thinks algore should count - he said a lot of good things
lol
bottom two rows grey!
and one more L would give me the top row
ok, morewords says the only ll words are llama and llano, and plurals, so it MUST be la

night Hursh, sweet dreams
name that proper noun: river in russia
I haven't seen you for, it must be a year, Sprite - what have you been up to?
mostly struggling with health issues, lyn. It's been a tough year.
and you, how are you doing?
Oh that's not good Sprite - are you getting on top of it?
very very slowly. Am going through rehab now with a specialized physiotherapist and it is slowwww going. But we will get there.
I developed a health issue too - permanent but am coping with it at the moment.
aw so sorry to hear that. Aging is not for the timid, is it...
You are a strong woman Sprite and you will get there I am sure. How are the kids?
the kids are amazing. All well and doing what makes them happy.
..and that what it is all about isn't it
absolutely. Live your passion and care about others, that is about it
if one can la4 out, what you do then should be an outla4
so first word I saw was Galt - as in who is John Galt. I think I am ver old because I couldn't even Google up Ayn Rand or John Galt - or otherwise this 'loan' PC is too feeble
:D I kept trying gallow... guess that is only valid as a plural?
BBL - my eyes are drooping
bfn, lyn, nice to catch up with you
TIL that I've been spelling ciabatta wrong all my life.
In related news, The Official Phantom of the Day is : Ciabatta
This is a tricky grid today, I think
How did your turkey turn out Matty?
gallow doesn't exist because gallows is the singular. It's plural is gallowses
It was lovely, actually! I made a rub of butter, fresh rosemary, dried thyme, smoked paprika, a bit of orange rind, garlic, salt and pepper. Put onion and carrot and a bit of water in the bottom of the roasting dish - it came out beautifully
Thank you!
Your rub sounds great. I bet it gave the turkey a wonderful flavor. Glad it turned out well.
It did. We had mash, stuffing, honey roast parsnips and carrots, green beans and gravy (and wine)
Did you all have a good Thanksgiving?
Yes, thanks. My family enjoyed Thanksgiving.
Did YOU enjoy it?
This grid makes me feel like an idiot!
I did, very much. Me being a part of said mentioned family. : D
Excellent :)
Good morning, friends.
Bea! How was your Thanksgiving?
It was good. Everything was yummy. I'm pooped.
How about you dinner?
It was nice. Not as good as eating at home, but a small way of all of us being together. My son said his restaurant was slammed with take out orders. I was surprised.
There was a table for the orders to be picked up in the lobby and there must have been 50 bags on there when we left.
Wow! Did they have a full menu or a limited menu?
Full menu and a special Thanksgiving menu. We got a lot of perks. It's nice dining in a restaurant where you son is the Manager. : D
I'm sure.
b aiter
sorry
was it beef or traditional stuff molly?
i am not liking this grid either
2nd column top a stats pls?
aa4.5
is it a babblet?
howdy, folks! not starting out great for me here either.
Yes
it's a sigh
Slow going for sure. Look at all the A's!
uduh ty got it
ugh
but at least I can make the charlie brown word today
How was your turkey?
turned out good. I ended up moving it to the oven, bag & all because it was taking longer than I thought and I needed the IP for the potatoes. then it puffed up and stuck to the element so that was nice.
LOL!
Was it a cooking bag?
it was one of those reynold's oven bags for turkeys.
I had my electric roaster plugged into a power strip and it kept going off. Finally moved it to a wall outlet and it worked.
(waiting for someone to ask for a clue for the Ca6/24)
I'll ask
I thought that was a bad way to spell a Chinese chicken dish.
How was our Thanksgiving, ru?
mine was very quiet and nice here.. nice weather
ca6 a sound a peanut makes when it sneezes :D
How was your food? Good, I'm sure.
lol
I ordered a meal from Angele (a local restaurant) to support them and I took it easy and had a nice bottle of Red.
I also bought a meal (feast) for my petsitters
I opted for not making a big mess in my kitchen for once
My mom acted as sous chef, so my dishes were done as Iwent.
nice..
she's nice to have around :D she's cute too
bless you, ru. and thanks.
She is. We enjoyed our time together in the kitchen.
So many unfamiliar words today.
ou 6/33, pls
first time I had done Thanksgiving by myself. mr. homie mashed the potatoes since he's the biggest fan and is kinda particular about them, but I did everything else. and I think every bowl, pot, pan, etc in the kitchen was dirty
ou6 to make illegal
same here
hmm, not outwag, bichon.
did you see the dog show, the bichon was very fluffy and pretty
ty Bea
No, I didn't. But a well groomed Bichon looks like that. Mine doesn't
hello friends!
LOVE the dog show! A holiday tradition here
hi Trif
yeah, my youngest and mr. homie commented about how scraggly Winston looks compared to the show Golden. :D
who ended up winning? I was in the kitchen when they announced BIS
Hello, Trif.
Trif!
I have a groomer come with her mobile van every two months
Hokie!
bahs should be allowed during this season
I miss you all, so much. I am a night/weekend babbler only now
I have been grooming Winston myself the whole time, but I don't have a dryer and he's kind of a pain to work with. I should just start using someone else.
i had to give my goats a bath a couple of weeks ago. THAT was a trip.
Mobile van works well for Marco. Marco's a calm dog.
Winston starts chewing on me
i have a fabulous story from the school yard to share, but it is long. will try to give the reader's digest version.
When I brush him, I give him a piece of Puparoni
yeah, I sometimes spray that fake PB stuff on the floor, keeps him occupied for about 20 seconds
I have the SWEETEST 12 year old girl in my honors english class. She is still a complete innocent. Recently, my classes read a short story which ended at the climax, concerning a boy who was TERRIFIED of elevators. The students were assigned to retell the story, from a different perspective. This lovely young one chose to write from the perspective of the elevator. First line of her essay: "He was the strangest boy I ever had inside me."
I never had a dog until my daughter was in high school
I laughed for five straight minutes. She has NO idea what she wrote. none.
LOL
LOL!
I hope her mother saves it.
How unique and creative! I love kids/people that think outside of the box.
heheh. i see what you did there, scrabbler!
Box = elevator?
suuuuuure scrabbler, sure
lolololol
I saved the 2nd grade spelling pretest my daughter had. The bonus word was Mrs. Sippy.
uh oh
Mrs. Sippy!!!! hahahhahahaha
I asked the teacher why she didn't give points for corect cap and punctuation.
My dyslexic son used autocorrect once in a 5th grade science class. Instead of "the results of the experiment" out came "the results of the excrement".
Hahaha.
oh dear!!!
Oh, no, jzw. Autocorrect is not a friend.
I voice texted a parent once - I am sorry, I can't tutor on thursday because I have parakeets on fences. What I SAID was parent/teacher conferences.
His teachers loved it. He was at a special school so they understood. Got an A anyway.
yeah, one of my friends uses voice text a lot and there have been some really funny ones.
that is the best kind of school, where the teachers understand
Don't like the voice texts!
so gallows can't be singular?
good morning, babblers.
Trif "parakeets on fences" is pretty much every parent/teacher conference I've been to :-)
Gallows is the singular
and if you only speak one language, aren't you a "glot"
that's what I'm discovering
monoglot?
Gallowses is the plural
Glot only works with Milk
the number of A's isn't as bad as they are all next to each other.
I still have to gery the second row A's
I'm just trying to make halfway on each
Michael's destination is in the first A.
If you let the cat out of the bag, surely you're letting it out of the catbag.
happy babbling and have a good day.
And I thougght catball was a reasonable word.
catball too
just finished the a's and there are several new weird ones
great
The Michael clue stumped me for a minute. Hallelujah
I thought it was a great clue.
It was, it made me think. Much better than *** clues : D
not getting it but I have 5 of those a's so I may have it already
I cannot budge the a in the bottom left corner. help?
I know scientists are always trying to outlab each other
What you are probably saying because you can't find it
okay, got it - thank you for psychic clue. WHY does just asking for a clue so often lead to then getting the word????
I think of it as the "charlie brown football word?
It is called the Periwinkle Phenomenon.
yeah, I said that earlier (charlie brown)
Just found the golf ball material.
Golf ball material?
ba6.24
It's obscure, I had to look it up
pl too!
oh, that helped me find the voting thing, which led to the 8
me as well, hokie!
What does one have for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving?
Pumpkin cheesecake pie and coffee
pumpkin pie, bzzn! heated up for ten seconds, cuppa on the side
I have the turkey stock on and it smells good in here.
just googled what are golf balls made of. it told me the core is made of rubber and then it is covered in plastic. which is exactly what I thought.
That sounds good. I was also thinking about warming up some stuffing that has sausage in it with a dallop of cranberries on top.
finished.. have a great day everyone
For lunch today is what my clan refers to as THE sandwich. Turkey, stuffing and cranberry on a home made roll.
bye ru!! well done.
That sounds delish.
I was going to use the stuffing as the bread for my turkey sandwich.
ah, finally monkeyed it. a tree. of course the master gardener would know. :D
I could eat dressing all day. I don't know why I only make it on Thanksgiving.
Speaking of which...I will received my official certification on Tuesday.
nice!
I was thinking the same thing yesterday while making the dressing.
My last word was the name of Clinton's VP all smoshed together.
And it means a sensation of cold.
I'm off to do what ever it is I am supposed to do today...

An expression like when you want to just scream.
aa 5/16
ty, zz! like Charlie Brown when Lucy moves the football
Yes just like that!
there is the verb to get rid of (sh++ fly, don't bother me), but it won't take the one who does that action. ;-(
This grid seems to be a bit trickier than we have had of late.
i concur, zz. maybe it is still my turkey coma wearing off here
Hope you had a lovely time though!
indeed, thanks. enjoying leftovers today.
A bit like bubble & squeak?
I know it's not a British holiday, but I wonder if it has asserted/inserted itself along into your culture (the way Halloween has in various places in Europe)
Afraid not. Well not that I have noticed. No one here mentions it.
wow, I haven't thought about bubble & squeak for years. My mom always made us sandwiches of the dressing (not stuffing because we don't put the stuff in the bird)
IAre you familiar with James Corden? I was watching his show the other night, and he remarked that in England, they have a different name for Thanksgiving. It's called Thursday.
heh,
When I was little boy my mother used to make us that on a Monday with the leftovers from our Sunday roast. So nice! We were very poor back then haha! Although not that much better off now.
My fondest food memories were of stu8ff like that. How we made the most of what was available
My sister makes shepherd's pie with the leftovers from Thanksgiving --we're h4eading over there tonight.
Yes he is a big star here too. A very funny guy! He was in a show called Gavin & Stacey.
I remember that show.
ooh sheperds pie! Yummy!
i totally love his show. He's brilliant
He is a very down to earth person.
well, I have a dog who's looking longingly at the leash, so I'm off for now. hope to bbl.
Enjoy your day!
Enjoy your evening and the sheperds pie! Nice to chat to you. Stay safe â¤
8:45pm here now.
In England, Thanksgiving is called Thursday. I guess that is another way of making fun of those of us in these United States.
we give thanks we left that country, amiright? LOL
hi all. tough grid for me
me too, stuck at 30 left.
75 left here but took a break to make black bean soup
I went and played disc golf, then ate a bunch of leftover starches, then gave the dog a bath, and have found 1 word on my own since this morning.
I just monkeyed some words and they were accepted. always nice when that happens
yes, I finished the B this morning and some of those were monkeyed.
hey, this looks like the letters could make a word!
65 left. hungry. bbl
