i am fighting with the christmas tree, which won't light.
some good news today. my daughter (a nurse) received her vaccine today and is now vaccinating her co-workers

we have a 'law' that prohibits all social gatherings, inside and outside. how it'll be enforced is a mystery to me, unless we're supposed to rat on our neighbors
i watched a video of some neighbors on a caroling hay-ride - not one mask, everyone all bunched together.
i know... haz said their regulation is no more than three households can gather. after Christmas, the stricter regulations come back.
well i guess they figured being outside was safe.
sure - singing at the top of their lungs, spewing their germs all over the place. and then, they'll go to a dinner and, a month later, wonder why everyone got sick (not necessarily with covid)
people are sick and tired. i get it, i get it. but how are we supposed to move forward
my fear/peeve ? going to the store and there are people outside smoking. talk about speading pathogens...
if i can gag on the smoke with a mask...

I admit I used the list for the last 5
I have learned through the years to always have a bunch of boxes of extra tree lights on hand when putting up the tree. It never fails that one, or all the strands you have won't light.

before I put my lights away, I "wind" them up, then plug in again to make sure that strand works... If not, I'll tape a note to check bulbs next use... I can't even tell you how many bundles of lights I have in the attic with notes attached, lol. As inexpensive as they have become, easier to just trash and buy new, one would think I'd come to my senses and trash those that don't work... I just don't like sending stuff like that to the dump... we're running out of space in that arena without adding toss/replace items...
If you do a Google search on how to recycle christmas lights that don't work, you will find some options for what to do with those old strands.
we have a place close by that recycles electronics,,, I have given them numerous Christmas tree lights
