Yeah, those new-fangled clocks without a tick are for people who love silence. The second hand that ticks is what I loved about the old clock. I could count seconds by the tick. A sweeping second hand just moves smoothly around each minute and isn't the same. I know that sounds so silly, but the tick is comforting - especially after 20 years of having the tick. No tock, just tick...tick...tick... lol!

Hursh - I had a wonderful bird clock, but it kept losing 20 minutes a day as soon as I put it back on the wall where it lived for 20 years. I put it on a table, and it worked fine. I propped it up on a chair, and it worked fine. So, I tried putting it back up on the wall and dropped it. Oops - it broke into pieces.

We went out looking at Christmas lights last night. One neighboorhood had put out luminaries all along the streets. It was so pretty.
I got a really good loaf of artisan garlic bread yesterday. I think I'm going to graze on that all day, watch it rain and wonder what it's like to be with family for Christmas.

I was SO vexed yesterday - had to go to pick something up at a store, could not avoid it. Stood six feet apart, but was treated to the lovely lady behind me, having a VERY loud cell phone conversation for all to hear - she was gabbing about how she was hoping to get her test results back by Saturday, since her brother's only took three days. I was furious. STAY HOME until you get the results!!!!
