Good morning all. I am being haunted by aspic and capture. Maybe I need more coffee.
Does anyone have the I in the bottom row? Thank you.
i 6,8 and 9
Thanks Molly. What is the second letter of the 8 & 9?
NM Found them! Thank you
I have a jo7 - may I have stats for the other J, please (and good morning - it's a new day, a new dawn!)
Oh, Matty's feeling good with Michael Bublé
jo4/11=baby kangaroo
Thanks.
I'm feeling relieved, more than anything else - the world today is slightly less crazy than it was yesterday
Oh, give it time Matty : D
Too true - you're a woman after my own heart, Molly
oh just found the jo7. bad flashbacks to the 80s.
50 to go. bbl!
I like Steve Perry and the gang. :)
sorry to hear that crossy
don't stop believin, harry
hello all
right column done
nice! thanks for the tip - I finished it too
if you can rescind, why can't you scind
I know, right?
ooh, just found an 8/9
nice! my longest is 7
and now bottom row gray!
Yes, that helped me gey the bottom row as well as the left and right columns
Good morning all.
hello bea
I inadvertently saw the j clue when I signed on but still missing the other j for first column. well, and an n.
hi bea!
jo4/11
duh!, thanks jean
got the 8/9
nice
bottom gray, in addition to both sides
I still need the one N
Is everyone in a state of less tension now that the Inauguration is over and life goes on as normal?
YES
not really, because now all my relatives think the country is immediately going to hells
Maybe a bit.
wasn't tense before, not tense now
If you lived around here, you wouldn't have been worried. DC has been a demilitarized zone for a week now.
LOL, trigger finger on that S when I hit enter. not hells, hell
found the n! sides and bottom gray
Republicans always think that when a Democratic President takes over. And vice versa. And don't get me started on the liberals.
just like I don't think biden will immediately save the country, I also don't see it immediately getting worse
Just...having someone sane, governing not by his moods and communicating by twitter - someone who thinks in whole sentences is a breath of fresh air
I agree Mattygroves
phantom utter. and why can't I find 2 more u's?
ask and ye shall receive... found them!
Sad to see the pipeline go, but I understand its potential collateral damage--the rest of the executive orders were perfect though, and it is nice to have proper press briefings once again. So a very good first day.
matty, the other day you mentioned Pratchett--He should be better known here. He's my favorite. and Crossy, it WAS a good day. It is going to take lots of healing, some will be accomplished.
Oh Matty, some of those whole sentences are so bad though. “Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.†~ Joe Biden
that one is bad in two regards
when did he make that statement Molly?
isn't a spitting contest to see who can outspit who?
my son always mentions that one, lady, so we have definitely heard it
NTPN - Puccini opera
Tosca
dingding
oh gee, I don't know operas unless it's aida (from the crosswords)
I listen to classical music all the time.
ditto Bea
I like classical music but opera not so much
All the classical music I am familiar with I learned from Bugs Bunny cartoons
hehe, they did use it a lot
I like opera, but not whole ones. Like excerpts
Just like most of the Spanish I know I learned from Sesame Street
We have a a great classical station here in NC. It is funded by the listeners and has no commercials. I can not stand commercial radio.
remember Electric Company? I can remember watching that as a kid and how they put the 2 word sounds together to make a word
Damn, Sesame Street has been on for 52 years.
you must have seen the earlier versions molly :D
I'll never forget, we were watching Sesame Street on 9/11 and my mom called to ask if I saw what was happening. I was like, no, I'm on PBS!
I never watched it as a kid. My niece and nephew watched it and so did all of my kids. I remember when my niece got on the phone with me and told me that she was sad because Hoo-Hoo (Mr. Hooper) died.
I guess Electric Company was a little after y'all ;)
i never watched sesame street.. at least not as a kid
My kids watched Electric Company. And Zoom.
I don't know Zoom. I definitely watched SS and EC when I was a kid and then my kids watched SS, Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer.
I watched all of those! I can do that Zoom arm thing
The absolute worst was Caillou. We never really let them watch that. What a whiny b#$%$ he was. I just heard it was canceled and how it lasted 20 years I'll never know.
getting back to the previous conversation.. I for one am glad that Trump is in FLA and golfing on his own time.
morning all! right column done
Even in Canada I feel like a weight has been lifted.
wow, just saw Morgan Freeman was in Electric Company.
morning, dan
stuck at 24 left here in 7 tiles
I just hope they can get him impeached so he cant run again.
phantom turtle
Some of those PBS kids shows give me the creeps. Like Big Comfy Couch.
well, hopefully you never saw Caillou
Oh I saw Calliou. Very weird show.
Caillou is Canadian, sorry about that.
me too bea
Ah, Big Comfy Couch is Canadian too. I'm sensing a trend here.
shame on the republicans if they don't have the guts to stand up for what is right
LOL
I'll stand up for Caillou a little - even though his character is relentlessly whiny and his parents are unrealistically endless in their patience, he did model resilience and perserverance for a certain kind of emotional kid.
I was going to say he was Canadian and what were y'all thinking but I let it slide. ;)
there was a phase in our house when miss2bit was 4 or 5 where that came in handy
maybe he became more tolerable in his later years?
for parents, it's pretty relentless, but so is Daniel Tiger :-)
I taped the inaugural celebration last night, watching now. Bon Jovi :)
Turned
tosses speedfreak in the PB
she's so fast, she didn't see which box she was in
she was turnt
I had to email my son's govt. teacher last night to give permission for him to watch the inauguration today in class. a) I think it's funny you have to have parental permission and b) he is 18 but his teacher said he didn't care, he still had to hear from me.
Are they doing in class, Carla?
Sorry just saw what I did
they are 2 days a week but you can remain 100% virtual, which he chose to do because of the time wasted at school.
I bet all the kids who were bullied are loving virtual education.
also, last 9 weeks he would just sign in on his phone and go back to sleep but this 9 weeks they are making you sign in and put your camera on and participate. :D
I'm glad my grandsons are doing virtual. We get to see them more.
And speaking of virtual...Two meeting this morning. Need to get dressed...Later...
but last time his 1st period was open so he could sleep late, but one class got moved to 1st so now he is up before us.
bye bea!

Do you have the ou7.40?

now 2 T, 4 S, 5 P. those are ridiculous. any PS? I keep trying things.
no ps
Do you have any P7's?
no, I have 2 7's remaining. both P's?
There are two PR 7 s
one is 7.36 and one is 7.32
ok, will look, thx
found one and an S
certainly not getting the 2nd one if someone can spare a clue :D
one rhymes with art maid from bits of tile
Made
that's the one I found. can't find the other.
but I just found a plant related S
The other might be short for one who works the street corner.
so now 2 T, 2 S, 4 P
definitely would not have tried that, thx
found another S, so TT S PPP. think I'm going to have to call it and use the list.
140 to go :)
oh, one of my missing T's should be easy for you, moo
of course my missing S was scottish
wouldn't be babble otherwise
so true
I guess the enable committee had a lot of scots on it
och aye
maybe someone who was a botanist too
did you ever live in scotland?

never been to scotland...have been to England and Wales...closest I got

10?
sorry 9
impressive, moo is finding words no one else is
I was counting in base9
yes, that was it bea. I was on the list and still not finding it, hence why it was pesky. but I monkeyed it now for fireworks.
yea!
oddly, it was not scottish
I'm off to see if I can get Mr. Bea vaccinated...
good luck!
that was an almost entirely wasted out
agreed, I tried everything on that out
I spent more time looking at the out that I did finding all the other o words

you've made it this far, you are sure to finish
Wow, SMom and Bichon must be sharing a brain. I would never have gotten that word from that clue.
I'm certainly not (yet) seeing it from that clue!
Found the word now
Yeah - sideways clue (though I can kind of see it now)
I thought it looked japanese but it's actually chinese cabbage. would that have helped?
or maybe if you said it ends like the shaped tree
now I'm just clue blurting, aren't I
Hmmm...maybe. Though in truth, there were only a fairly limited number of options given the point value - I think that helped more than anything else :)
yeah, that's how I ultimately got it
May I have a very gentle nudge for the as6, please
an as6 mind may not need a nudge
Aaah - thank you. I should have seen that
When my daughter was around four, we were in the car and she said something pithy. I commented to my (then) husband, 'Sarah's very as6!' A voice piped up from the back 'yeah - no flies come off me!'
that was a late find for me. hard to see.
haha! that's a good one.
I love the way little kids have with words. Cute story Matty.
Someone walked into a small town Mom and Pop market in my state and bought a 731.1 million dollar winning lottery ticket. Talk about dreams coming true.
Think of the tax ;) (In the UK, I believe lottery winnings aren't taxes - the bet is taxed, not the winnings)
The tax is usually half the winnings in these united states. However, with a jackpot of 731 million, I could live without half of it.
plus if you take it all at once you get less
Hey, there are no guarantees you are going to live for ten more years. I would take it all at once.
yep
Me too!
I don't play the lottery, so it's all moot to me :)
well, if I had known it was that big I would've gotten a ticket or two. ;) but I don't follow news.
I think it funny when people (and I've done it myself) who don't typically buy lottery tickets (because the chances of winning are ridiculously small) will do so when there are rollovers - like 'well, £8m just isn't enough - but £84m, yeah, that would fund my lifestyle'
true
I had a friend who would say the lottery is for people bad at math
But it's really the psychology of it as you point out
Are the PR7 words in common usage?
one maybe, one not here
I have one of them, and yes...literally :)
still 9 to go
The pr7 I have is not a common word
it's a slang version that I've never heard of a word now deemed offensive
LOL, Mool!
Oh I got the other one. I think that is British.
It was like the perfect setup matty :)
that's why I said "not here" because I was guessing there
I don't consider pr7/36 a common word
read the definition :)
Thanks but I know the definition
Oh well, it amused me
I was referring to what Matty asked "common usage". That word is not commonly used.
it's like the grammar rule - why use a large word when a diminutive one will do
Yes, and I took it literally...call it a pun if you will
hence my "clue"
Yes Knight and yet people love to use the word excrement " D
According to google, one of the definitions is, in fact, 'commonplace' - hence my lol
I like, I like :D
thx, I try :)
Yes but when you ask if the words are in common usage you mean do people use them a lot. When was the last time you heard someone say pr7/36?
which is why I put ...literally on the end of it
But hey, people will laugh at anything. Hence the success of "Dumb & Dumber".
Awww. There's no tone of voice in chat - I think Mool was genuinely trying to raise a smile (and it worked for me). Also, it IS a word I've at least heard of, so that's a bonus
ironic that you're taking this so literally molly :)
All done - dinner time. Have a great day
congrats, enjoy dinner
well done. what'd I miss? :D
my elucidation of indicative pronouncements has instantiated perturbation
whoa
heh
still 9 to go if you were wondering
Pleonastic persiflage if I ever heard it
heh
which 9?
A,A,P,P,P,S,S,S,T,T
all from the 4 biggest tiles
very similar to my last 9. we are playing the same grid today.
that's good to know
one of my last 2 T's was NZ/AU slang
hmm
exactly....hmmmm
oh....the solvent?
yes
or in NZ parlance, sometimes used to describe a "cold one"
yes, that's exactly what the dictionary link says.
in US, we just say the entire word for the solvent
yes, it's interesting what cultures decide to abbreviate and what they dont
like brekkie? :D
oh yes, let's talk brekkie!
I dare say cockney slang has a lot to do with that kind of thing
same number of syllables as breakfast
yes, but you save on verbal ink
like jack is a nickname for john. why?? just name him jack.
yeah, that's an odd one
and hey if you're theodore, let's get rid of the h and call you ted
Maybe that comes from languages like spanish, where the h wouldn't be pronounced
yeah, another head-scratcher
Peg for Margaret
teodoro
yeah, also odd
Bob for Robert...those r's are just too much work
chuck for charles
indeed, though that one is perhaps more unique to america
still 9 btw
well yeah, england is too fancy for chuck
don't forget chook/s
oh yes
for chickens
one of my last a's was a plural
though that is decidedly more Eng/NZ/Aus
the a4?
I have all my 4s
no, a 5
ah...well just found an a6
my other last A was a word that I thought was an adj, but looked it up and it's a british noun
was in the grid the other day
quite a few weird s's, at least one scottish one. hard to guess which of those you are missing
yeah
I have the argument one
what lengths do you have left?
found an s
3x5, 2x6, 1x7 and an 8
that's what I thought :D
scapie - a disease that affects mainly suburban gardens

Exactly what I thought. Did no one say "Um, we really should call this something else".
But hey, the ad people say "sex sells" so maybe that was the supposed strategy.

Saving data. It's being glitchy
Wifi is the problem - coming and going this morning
I admire anyone with the patience to play this on a cell phone. Tiny screens and tiny buttons don't work for me with games like this.
me too, molly
not to mention I have yet to figure out how to turn spell check off
Now I have much more appreciation for people my age trying to learn how to use a computer for the first time
* for the struggles they have that is. At least when I got my first computer, there were hard copy manuals to tell you how to use it.
wifi doesn't necessarily mean cell phone, it can be laptop, tablet, whatever
yes -- wifi has nothing to do with the internet -- it is merely a wireless method for connecting devices.
any ps or pt words? not seeing any of the usual suspects but you never know
not today
mk thanks
do you have both pr 7's?
no, just the boring humdrum one
aha thanks got the other
the other one builds from a pr 6
still need 2 more P but that's my 7s done
i think you mean a pr5?
I must say I was really impressed with the dignity of (not counting Lady Gaga) of yesterday's inauguration ceremony. Also, as much as I don't like him I thought it took a lot of guts for Pence to do his duty and show up at an occasion where he was virtually shunned by most of the people present.
yes - pr 5
i do need at least one more p6 tho
maybe 2
yeah no they are BOTH sixes
they are now my last two words
hubby just got out the corn chips and asiago dip -- time to quit.
pa and pe the only 6's --- think stripper
what was wrong with gaga?
that outrageouss outfit for starters
oh. i didn’t find too outrageous. she is gaga afterall.
and she has a lovely voice...
She does have a lovely voice and she sang it straight which was nice But she should have hired J-LO
*J-Lo's dresser to find an outfit for her -- now that was classy and infinetly more suitable to the occasion.
J-Lo had clothes on for a change...must be because of the temperature...
lol - yes, that thought crossed my mind as well
just the right amount of extra, in my opinion for Gaga. The picture of her taking the gold microphone from the infamously anti-queer VP Pence was an excellent moment
personally I thought gaga looked great..maybe a bit much for the time if day..but not weird at all. the peace dove was a nice touch.
soeey - can't buy that --- I still think she was a disgrace to a very solemn occasion - did she think she was the headliner in some variety stage show/
a joyful occassion, but de gustibus non disputandem est
I agree with you Nan, I find Gaga very weird. And it is not really proper decorum to hug a former President, especially with all the COVID stuff.
i got pa6, am i supposed to think about strippers for the pe6 ALSO?
no
nan- i think she always thinks she’s the headliner because 90% of the time she is.
Did you notice how Gaga got kind of shuffled off the podium by two military women?
no excuse Jan -- she would have been a laughing stock if her behavour hadn't been so disgusting. Everything else was top notch --- noticed there was no pipe band though --- what the heck? :D
wow, we seem to have gone beyond her fashion expression
let's focus on what's really important here. trump was annoyed at the high-profile celebrities willing to perform at the inauguration since so many celebs have snubbed him lately
im not sure what was disgusting? and i sure don’t think she was a laughing stock...quite the opposite, in fact. the reviews were full of praise.
if her fashion nonsense expresses how she behaves most of the time, she should spend some of her millions on finishing school
methinks me smells old-fashioned tastes - but then, i did not watch it
most of the reviews I read agreed that she was over the top and not exactly respectful of the occasion
call me old fashioned if you like --- there are still occasions that require some sort of decorum.
Gaga is always over the top and acting like what is going on is all about her.
Then she needs to learn how to behave when that is not the case --- again -- a good finishing school woulld do it. Wonder if she likes Switzerland?
And yes Nan, when you are invited to sing at a Presidential Inauguration, decorum is called for.
yes, because that is the gaga persona. Stefani Germanotta is a fantastic singer and decent person.
She would have been better employed performing in the inauguration virtual concert
It's called having good taste.
I was glad to see so much color, so much energy, so much joy. I thought she did a fantastic job with the anthem, and I didn't find her any more attention-seeking than Garth Brooks or Jennifer Lopez or Amanda Gordon when it was their turn at the podium.
but I'm not in any position to be judgmental when it comes to what people wear
garth brooks...oy. don’t get me started.
i'm with you, dan - next thing, complaints about how dramatic and over the top gordon was, with all that gesticulating *lol*
lol
jeans are far worse than ANY dress gaga wore
Sorry you can't see the difference between her an everyone else, Dan --- it was not an occasion that called for such flamboyance. I didn't think the blue jeans were appropriate either - I am sure that Garth BRooks does own a suit he could have worn.
lol welki
I will kick the. ass of anyone who complains about that young girl. what a treasure she is.
She does have a lot of talent, Jan -- Its just a shame she didn't have a better upbringing.
all those folks were there by invitation, and i'm sure their repertoires and outfits were vetted before the inauguration. if the white house is okay with it, so am i
Nan, don't complain about Amanda Gordon or you will get your ass kicked.
are you aware of her upbringing or lack of?
I don't know about that, welki -- there were a lot of surprised expressions when she flounced out in that voluminous red skirt
I think we just disagree about what that occasion is for, nan. Particularly in the case where the very building they were standing at had been vandalized with feces and urine and bear spray and flame retardant only two weeks before in order to try to stop the very occasion itself from happening. In that context, I'll take all the flamboyant triumphant expressions of joy I can
solemnity is highly overvalued
i call b.s. nan - i watched it and didn't see anyone faint with the vapours
also occasion is one of those words that never looks correctly spelled to me
Who was Amanda Gordon -- that sweet little poet? Wow talk about impressive!
lol..has anyone fainted from the vapours lately?
only nan
I guess welki -- we won't agree on this one, so to each his own.
the victorian era ended about 120 years ago - like dan said, time to rejoice
oh agreed ---- after the ceremony, not during
(and to each is own is also what dan said before, in matters of taste, there is no dispute)
We live in a strange world. People who still, themselves, find it appropriate to wear certain clothing to our more solemn occasions, find it okay for others to be more garish at those events.
how remarkably tolerant of us
Yes but it seems to depend on what side of the political fence you occupy.
Hi, all! Nice to see some familiar faces!
I know I'm getting old but I still think it wouldn't hurt to teach and ask more respect and consideration from our children --- I think the laxity of the last to generation of parents have contributed a lot the the attitudes of the current generation of young people - but that is a topic for another day. Right now, I have to get started on supper if we are to eat before 7:00 pm. Have a good evening - see you at the flip.
* two generations (my own included)
I don't know; the inaugurations are celebrations and none more so than one which took two weeks after an insurrection threatened the very building where the inaugurations occur.....
This chat is always an education to me about what people believe, based on the news reports that they watch.
I still read most of my news, for whatever that's worth
miss2bit and i watched the inauguration on a live stream set up by the committee specifically for students - it was really educational for both of us
same here Dan. the tv news has been dumbed down so much it can’t even be called news.
it sure beat standing out on the Mall in January, as I did when I was a younger man
I watched on PBS - no hyperbole
hello friends
I did not watch - did anyone see anything that would require a senior high school government class to get permission from their parents to watch?

only in the sense that it took place during school hours, carla. our county system gives the day off because we are in the close-in suburbs
no, not at all carla. It was tastefully done, and the poetess (Amanda Gorman) was a phenomenal young woman.
Dan makes a good point
I streamed it live with no comments, too. And yeah, what Dan says.... I wonder what the news reports have to do with our fashion comments.
fashion? I thought Biden's coat was very stylish
and hey there pam!
they actually watched it today. my son thinks it's because it was politically one-sided. the funny thing is is he's 18 and doesn't need our permission for anything really, but his teacher said he didn't care.
Schools are so worried about parental lash back. They were probably just covering their asses.
I loved Laura Bush's coat.
wow. Politically one sided? It was an inauguration for pete
s sake
Hi, Doresn!
that was my son's take LOL
he said the teacher said it came from higher up
I can't count how many times I teared up yesterday . and I don't usually.
Maybe because it was during school hours?
michelle obama stole the show with her outfit.
i think i remember watching in school. I mean -- it's history. And particularly this year. I know my grandkids watched at home, they're doing remote learning but this was sanctioned by their school sas far as I know
Michelle is always stunning
Do I understand correctly that Molly doesn't think that an attempted insurrection took place at the Capitol?
well I hope not. Molly???
hello
hi owl. I thought the chog was broken
How are you doing?
thought of you friday as i was at B&W
Haha. I think of you when I go to Hackensack and think of going there for Beesting Cake but talk myself out of it
there was no one else there. it's one way in and one wAY OUT
Jo7 please?
Glad to know it exists still. I probably should go get it sometime before it closes down. You never know these days
jo7 a band from the 80's or a long trip
Une! hello
i was there for a funeral. first time there since christmas 19
make a trip
Thanks!
70s and 80s I guess :-)
I go there sometimes to see my mom. She and her husband are 93 and 94 and still in their apartment
god bless them.
i love your new addition.
I finally succeeded in getting appointments for vaccinations for the three of us. Oh, you mean little Ms. Sally Yates? She is adorable, it's true
I showed the inauguration to my students live yesterday. So far, no backlash.
Well there shouldn't be! It's our government, whether or not you like it
hi trif
my niece has become a crazy cat lady. i cannot believe the cat photo is her christmas card
hello!
Well, this last year I'd give anyone a pass for that, owl
It's been quite a year. It's taken its toll on a lot of us in strange little ways
yep, any weird things we might have done do not count in 2020...the verdict is still out on 2021
hi all, diving in, fully clothed
yes. i have signed up for vaccination but have not heard. in phila it's very fairly quick but dicery to go there.
I'd go anywhere for it. I found spots at the Newark Community Health Center. I don't live in Newark, but they okayed me. What's dicey about Philly?
well, looky here!
I thought chog was broken, too, Doresn. Hi, all.
it will be july before i see a vaccine..im pretty far down the priority list.
(dorens, my sister, her husband and adult daughter are getting their vaccines tomorrow in Glen Rock)
getting there. my cousin heard you could get a spot in Paterson so they went friday AM and the line was hald a nile long and no social distancing
Glad they were so lucky. NJ has been quite a mess
i hear you, jan - i shouldn't be that far down, but it looks like fall
my niece has MS, so i don't know if that made a difference
PA is worse. grovery workers are ahead of seniors now.
i signed up, waiting. but i may volunteer to work at a clinic so i think they will vaccinate me if i do
workers should be ahead of seniors..
that's risky business, owl
Yes, Owl, I heard about Paterson and they are supposedly now only giving to Paterson residents cause the whole world was going there. I'm not sure if it did, Welki. I'm 71 and have COPD. but there doesn't seem to be a centralized list. Just have to get lucky and it
tushies
sort of like a lottery at this point.
shit, you can't be 71, doriens - you were like 39 when we met :D
my friend works at the moorestown site. some guy wandered up at the ends of the day and they had extra and gave it. but what will he do for the second dose?
hahahaha
hahahah. My little granddaughter who was just born at the time i started babbling.... She's 14 now. time DOES fly
yes, i remember!
(is miss sally yates a new cat?)
I wouldn't work at a vaccination site owl, we're too old for that. Unless you've had both shots and it was time. Yes she is welki. 14 weeks old and alternating between fiendishly racing around playing with everything and then collapsing onto my lap as a purring machine
nbt and nbs woot
hi gwen
good job gwen
argh, no points for endcap
oh oh oh! our hair cutters opened on monday - tomorrow is THE DAY i've been waiting for for a long, long time!
hi and tanx
nice work. gwen!
double mask, welk
yay for haircutters!
i work at a food pantry. doctor says it's ok, minimal contact and my fellow workers are older. he would not want me to go to a gym or to work with young people.
lol welki..exciting stuff. we are lockdown here..nothing is open except grocery stores..and liquor stores!
i got my hair cut today. four people in the place and mask and full fae shield on operators.
sad to say, i have a variety of masks - for tomorrow, it's a really good one, 0.1 μm filtration
ok, if your doc says ok. My son has me on virtual lockdown except for outdoors, so i've begun a lot of hiking with friends.
i use disposable, since i got some color
i've read about your restrictions, jan - it's so hard
curtains between stations, too.
well, it has its moments. dying is far worse tho.
I'm lucky. My hairdresser has her own place and only sees one person at a time. So I do go once in a while (shhhh, don't tellmy son)
agreed. if only more folks would see it that way
i wanted to grab a slice of pizza the other day and two people walked in without masks. counter girl said it was okay because they already had covid. i left
maybe my son is right!
yikes!!!
omg. so many idiots!
i find myself sometimes, out of the blue, asking myself it the pizza/donut/ whatever is worth dying for
but it's too close. my aunt's granddaughter did not attend the funeral friday, her husband works at hackensack med center with transplant patients and he had it
you're right, owl. we've had a loss (in nj) and several of my relatives have, in spite of being very, very careful, have been infected.
i find older people the worst. no offense to anyone. perhaps they figure they have to go sometime... i don't understand. but one of my coworkers at the pantry is 97!
Oy. My mom lives virtually across the street from Hackensack Hospital and I hate going there
me, too. my aunts volunteered there and they were in their 80s
but friday, there were at most twenty people in a room set up for 150. and i'd already had one die during april with no funeral. and we lived in the same house growing up. so i went.
my dad volunteered there, too
so i have c ouple more days to lay low.
are you isolating after having been out of state?
lay low? but you got your hair cut!
yes. except i went to the hairdresser. she said okay
welki makes a point there
it's a week.
temp taken twice every day.
found the 9, feeling fmitch level smug
ah!
wow. fmitch. you take me back there, tri
miss her
and her adorable smugness
every tenrec. or tanrec.
hi trif
time for me to skedaddle - g'night everyone
remember her photo of the penalty box??
goodnight welki
(i do!)
night welki, good to see you
I miss the old days of babble. so many dear names....
nite welki..stay safe!
night, welk
oh, the PB photo!!! lololol I had forgotten!
fmitch. wow.....
that photo was the BeST!
it was.
It's still up with her name, if youhad her as a friend you can still see it
how those days seem so precious now....I would put the kiddos on the bus, and then relax in quiet babble time...ME time
it's still in her profile
different stage of life
indeed.
my great regret is that i did not realize i could phone her on my then new cell
forgive me, I am broody lately....
we just passed the 21st minute of the 21st hour of the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century (at least here in the Eastern US)
she was so sick and yet when i wrote here she sent ME cards!
well thank you dan. nice to know these factoids
yes, dan!!!! I meant to mark it, but I forgot
sorry to break the mood :-)
one more memory. Picking a clue on Fridays for our photos? I really did like that
and themes.
it did used to be so much fun. My friends and family thought I was nuts that I just HAD to do this every single day of my life and HAD to finish. Even at 1 AM on a school night. insane
yes.
ah. Fireworks finally. Nice to see you owl, good luck getting your shots.
congrats Dorens
good night!
Good night, and good luck with vaccines, all!
fire workies woot
woo hoo BDG
way to go, gwen!!! huzzah!
running off now, it's been real y'all
firewords here as well! thanks lickety and all cluers
huzzah for dan!
lovely pic of the little miss, dan
she has gotten so grown up! Like many of you, I remember when she arrived on the babble scene!
thank you! virtual 5th grade has been a trial, but we are grateful to all be safe and well. My mother will get her 2nd immunization shot in 2 weeks, if all goes well
that is so great. I would give ANYTHING to get vaccinated. if I can help in any way with school stuff, I am here for you!
trif that's a lovely offer - it is just miss2bit's personality. she can learn the material, but she needs the peer reinforcement and more direct involvement than she can get from the screen
teachers here are in the current group to receive the vaccine, but she may still finish the year virtually
