thx cosmo
FWs, last word (thnx to morewords) co 6/27 - an ancient roman measurement
double cons on the end
sorry double VOWEL on the end
the CO6 27 would be a really delicious soup if those double vowels were a different vowel
And that's fireworks for me! I had an easy time tonight for a change.
just back after 3 days of no power and single digits here in Texas. Power came on 5 minutes ago. Was sleeping in 38 degree room!
Haven't spoken with you before, but so happy for you that you have your power back. I feel so bad for all of you.
Thanks - it has been rough. No hotels available, no option but to hunker down with no heat. Got down to 3 last night.
It seems like the world has gone crazy and Mother Nature is mad as hell.
Will be 65 by Sunday, thank god. Lots of people here still without power, and mine will probably go off sometime again.
This grid is going smooth as silk for me--for a change, but I must head to work, and the rest will have to wait. Have a good day my Babble friends.
sl
Good morning, popsicles.
Hello, busiest of Beas.
Today is a slow day. =)
Slow days are necessary now and again. They let the body battery re-charge
Normally I wish my fellow Catholics a happy Spot-the-Catholic Day, but today, with so many people staying home because of the pandemic, and so many stranded at home due to the weather, today ain't the best day to play.
Episcopalians also receive imposition of ashes today...
Ah, that's right! I knew someone else did too.
We lived across the street from a Catholic church. We had to learn the Holy Days so we would be able to get out of our drive to get to work. Ash Wednesday was the worst.
higilists
D'OH!!
Sorry, gave away a word!
*heh heh heh*
I can barely say this without laughing. Some Catholic Churches are doing drive-by ashes.
It is rather funny.
If someone's not paying attention when you say "drive-by ashes" out loud, they'll think you mean mooning.
Just now occurred to me there are no Es in this one.
I wonder if you can get drive-by confession too
Found some sqaush in the grid.
Is it a support squash?
No. Too small.
Large zucchini reminds me of my dream last night.
Oh that sounds like a field day for Freud
Could be. Or it could be just another one of those crazy pandemic dreams.
Lots of interesting interpretations in the dream dictionaries about dreaming of zucchini
I'm sure. These were mutant zucchinis that were actually moving on their own.
You know, I may never eat zucchini again.
Ooo, sounds like Attack of The Killer Tomatoes
Good morning, all. I'm having a tough time coming up with squash puns. Not an easy subject.
Just can't think of acorn-y enough pun.
I should have quashed the urge to mention them.
8 left...time for oatmeal.
Many churches are doing "drive-by" ashes, as well as drive-by communion. We're adapting to the current reality. Nothing funny about it, if you understand the rituals.
I have heard that pastors / priests are going to administer ashes via Q-tips. I like that idea. I thought an alternative could be makeup sponges.
27 left. Doubt I'll be able to finish this today. See y'all tomorrow!
not a good thing when I can't even find a word in the first tile
i found both of them
do not like these i's being the only vowels up there

2nd row gray!
Having spent a great deal of my life as a practicing Catholic, I do understand the rituals. Which is why I find the drive-by thing funny
I just finished the bottom row.
last column greyed lol
the methodist church I grew up in did not do ashes or even ash wed service, but they do now. I rem. at college seeing people with ashes on their foreheads and I was like what is going on? all these people have dirt on their faces.
last column gray!
do they have drive by confessionals too?
oh, found a bird
Did you find the squash?
stats bzz?
not that I know of
top row gray!
Ru, I asked about drive-by confession too
well.. it kind of follows logic
I'm not seeing any of the squash names I am familiar with. Unless it is one of those latin names
yeah, we never got the stats for that

Patty pan is gaining popularity again.

I bet you can get patty pan from your Farmer's Market.
Speaking of market...Getting there before this next round of storms.
how do you prepare patty pans?
I think I'd have to go downtown to find a farmer's market. though, there is a farm nearby that has a farmstand I go shop at during the summer. will have to rem. that.

good morning everyone :-)
is 7-8: lonely pushpin(s)
I was wondering what would be a conceivable hint for that is7-8. Thanks, Nan!
inconceivable!
You Keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means
:D
If I remember my physical geography proberly, it's a line on a weather map
inconceivable!
*keep in mind that it was 60 years ago that I took that course to fill requirements at university
Another one using that word but I do not think it means what she thinks it means
what word are you talking about molly?
oh - inconceivable!
It's a Princess Bride joke Nan. I doubt you have seen the movie.
no I haven't
one of anne Hathaway's lines?
so in the movie it means something other than unbelievable?
or incomprehensible?
Y'all have to excuse Ru. He is Princess Bride impaired.
HAHAHA
yeah and for the rest of my life too
He has seen The Princess Diaries so many times he is unable to get past the word Princess
I don't watch princess anything .. I was married to one for 30 years.
You have done your time in the Princess world
He can't even play Mario. It's sad.
LOL.. never have ori
Oh, thank you, Mario! But our princess is in another castle!
*!*~*!* hagd everyone
Ru can't even watch Grace Kelly movies. He breaks out in hives if he does.
Not to mention all of those Disney princesses.
So...any clues for the missing C I have??? It's either a co5 or co7, and it's not the co7 that means what someone does with a loan.
I am also missing one C
I have one co5 that is a plural and the co7 you mentioned
Actually, it theoretically could be a ca5 or ca7 but I doubt it.
A five is the plural of a seven?
no
Does that co5 plural have to do with $$$$?
yes
d'oh! :(
ok, so now what is my missing C?
Probably the same one I'm missing!
oh, I thought your d'oh meant it was the plural 5
Naaah, I had that one.
Is it considered bad manners to run down the stats for a letter??
hey hoke, daubie
moo! well, dauber, a lot of people do it. I wouldn't now because moo doesn't like to be spoiled in chat and he just started, but he is good at looking away.
'mornin'
dauber, what is your other missing letter? I assume since you have the c narrowed down to 5 or 7 that means you only have one other.
*looks away*
A lot of people do it but just as many people don't care for it
yep, that.
LOOK AWAY!!!!
My Cs: seven 4s, one 5, one 6, one 7
yep, same
And I know the missing C is either a 5 or a 7.
but how do you know that?
FTR, I am missing one 7, so it could be
I only have one other word on another letter.
The two words I'm missing are a 5 and a 7.
ok, what's the other letter??
S
The middle one.
oh, yeah, I'm missing 3 of those so that doesn't help
Oh dear God, you two are missing co6. It ends in a double vowel
LOL, but dauber said 5 or 7!!!
OH...yeah, it IS a 6...
My fault! I saw "6 7/8" and all those numbers got scrambled up!
Yeah, I know
ok, that's bad manners. :D
Okay, now for that s7. :)
got it, thanks, molly
oops...s5.
4th col gray!
Thank you, Molly!
all the s5's I have appear to be plurals
1st and 5th grey :)
7 left here, moo. I think molly needs a stat report. FF SSS TT
32 left here
14x4, 8x5, 5x6, 4x7 and 1x8
2x4, 3x5, 1x6, 1x7
My missing s5 is probably *not* a plural -- all the s4s I have that can be made plural are pluralized.
I'm assuming my 4s have 5s with them but I sure can't see them
I'm probably missing it too, dauber
20 to go
still 7 ;)
14
you guessed it, 7
13
ha! 5
still 13 :)
so I probably have a 4/5 set, the elusive s5, and a 6/7 set left.
11 to go
or those are just red herrings
C, D, F, F, I, I, S, S, S, T, T
thought for sure I just found it with socta, which is not a word. Is there a word similar? or did I just make that up
FF S TT
scoter
ni5?
and scrota
scoter is a type of sea duck
so we are playing the same grid today :D
scrota...well that's the plural of scotum :)
ni5 is a word for nil/nothing. usually see a different ending, one who is that, which happens to be the 8/9
ty got it :)
you can abscond but not scond
I so wanted to give a clue about that word that it's a pretty significant word in The Big Lebowsky.
my girlfriend gave up her toe!
the only word I can think of significant in there is abide
nice marmot
have only seen that twice
The n8 and n9 are both semi-prominent parts of the movie. :)
no idea how many times I've seen it
watched it fairly recently
9 to go
still 5
I saw it once, liked it for its overall goofiness, then watched it again with my wife, who didn't understand it at all.
ooh, found the Fs. 3 left!
I'm not a Bib Lebowski fan
fantastic
is that a knockoff movie?
Or a Big Lebowski fan
It's when boss baby does a satire of Big Liebowski
I watched it mainly to see what the big deal is. Not the greatest thing in the world but I enjoyed it. Made me understand why a friend of mine is often called "The Dude."
Not a knockoff, crappy typing
It's no Raising Arizona
Or my name's not Nathan Arizona
OMG, I finally found that s5!!
mr. homie has said he knew I was the one when I knew all the lines to Raising Arizona
well done, dauber!
heh
Oh yeah, Raising Arizona, there's an Academy Award winner...not
I like a lot of the Coen brothers movies
so my T's are a 6/7 set possibly
Man, I want to give a hint for my last word, but it's so weird...probably better off just typing "s" and then four random letters from the grid!
which t?
4th row T
dauber, can I have the stat only? moo, look away.
okay
ha!!
si5
Carla you and Hurshy must be related. You are the only two people I know who have memorized entire movie scripts
it just happens when you watch them many times
ah, found my i's
7 to go... 1x4, 1x5, 3x6 and 2x7
found my f's
making lunch right now so still 3 :D
5 to go...but I'm at 6s and 7s
one 5, one 6, one 7. haven't had a chance to monkey the 5
ni 8/45, pls
bichon - think of that group of people in The Big Lebowski. :)
someone who believes in anarchy
ty mool, dauber
what is that point total on the si5?
I assume the 5/14 is the one you're looking for
I assume so as well, thanks
got it, thx. now just the T6/7
I concur; si5/14
I think I'm missing those too
found my last s's....3 to go
I'm assuming TO, there aren't any sneaky TS are there?
found them. tada!!
have definitely seen it here before but not in my vocab
:)
trying to find my final c
had to get a clue for that. obscure.
It is official. No one proofreads anything anymore. Our local weather station has had a blurb up all day that has "wit" for "with"
it's so annoying
or is it anoying?
I've read a couple of cozy mysteries that are self-published on Kindle that I thought about offering to proofread their next book, it was so, so bad.
moo, that's a bit creepy, are you tracking my keystrokes? I accidentally typed anoying first and had to fix.
sorry there's no one here named "moo"
ha!
dangsineun amugeosdo jeungmyeonghal su eopsseupnida
is that korean?
yes
stuck on the i 7 and 8 ??
I don't know it - but I worked with a korean fellow a few years back who would right english equivalent so we could learn to speak some of the words. That looked familiar.
he would also *write
‎dangsineun means you are my teacher/friend in Korean. I don't know about the rest of it. The rest of it looks like the cat walked on the keyboard.
Nope, the rest of it is Korean as well. People like to show off when they know a phrase in another language. Good call Knight.
at first I thought it was gibberish, then I thought maybe Russian without the right keyboard thinking he was pretending to be a Russian bot.
Knight: what does "right english equivalent" mean? I am unfamiliar with that term.
Origami, Knight corrected. He meant write the English equivalent
Oh, thank you, Molly. Makes sense now :D
Hi Origami
it helps to write right English
Punctuation makes a difference. It's time to eat Grandma. It's time to eat, Grandma.

I will be spending the remainder of today looking for the word "quisling" in this grid.
outer rows and columns greyed! 16 to go
need a break . bbl!
Oh thanks Harry. Now I have that weird "Voices Carry" in my head.
oh hush, even downtown (mondegreen for me)
I mean, voices do carry even downtown
and TIL aimee mann was in 'til tuesday
Do you sing Jimi Hendrix "Excuse me while I kiss this guy?" It's hush, hush, keep it down now, voices carry
I did not ever have a problem with the Hendrix one and I struggle to understand how people heard that
I have never heard the term mondegreen.
I never got how There's a bad moon on the rise became there's a bathroom on the right. But Fogerty is hard to understand.
that one I don't get either
mondegreen came from an old song where they laid him on the green and everyone thought it was lady mondegreen. or something like that, but you've probably already googled it.
I totally get the Blinded by the Night one, it sounds so much like revved up like a douche no one knows what it could really be.
But if mondegreen comes from "laid him on the green" being heard as Lady Mondegreen, it's like the kid who thought Gods name is Howard. Our Father, who art in Heaven, Howard be thy name.
mondegreen was coined in 1954 per wiki ,and I've known it at least that long. (hardy har)
Not much difference between douche and deuce. Unless you are into cars, you wouldn't know (little deuce coupe)
I hung out with car guys when I was a kid. I had to explain the Springsteen lyric "I got a 69 Chevy with a 396 fuelie heads and a hurst on the floor" tp a friend of mine who was clueless
finally back, and immediately find my two final ts
there was a recent Taylor Swift one that I didn't hear at all but supposedly her mom thought she was saying it. now I have to find that.
just had to clear out the brain, moo
yeah, a few calls will do that :)
just the c to go
okay, the taylor swift one is: actual lyric "I got a long list of ex-lovers" and people hear something about Starbucks lovers. that one's baffling to me.
alright, I'm off to Lowe's. let us know, moo, when you find the c.
and don't ask dauber, he will lead you down the wrong path.
sure, will show up in the paint isle in your Lowes
aisle
unless there's an island in the middle of a bit paint puddle
found a fish
I cannot get that is combo, I even used every possible configuration on Morewords. Can anyone give more of a clue?
for which one player?
is + vowel + at****ed you will find a document for your signature
yeah, that's a weird word
Do you know about typing is----- into morewords to get all possible words?
Thanks Molly. Stupid word!
Champ! How did you survive the freakishly weird Texas weather?
Still in it. Power just restored after 2 days, but not sure how long it'll last. Luckily, my mom lives 5 mins away and has a generator. Going to stay here again tonight just in case. Thanks for asking.
Someone posted earlier that they were 3 days without power. That's the contents of the fridge if you don't have a generator. Glad you have somewhere with power to stay.
Yes, it was cold enough to see my breath in the house. We had no power, but we had water. Mom's water is off due to some burst pipes, but we're using pool water for the toilets. And brining water in large coolers for drinking. It's like camping! 5 adults and 4 dogs.
Overshare, I know!
Weird watching Ash Wednesday mass on the internet, which just came on about an hour before that.
if you went in person, they would sprinkle you with ashes/
People were talking earlier about drive-by ash distribution. It made me laugh.
I know, TO. I was supposed to be sprinkling this a.m., but they canceled all but the live video. Leaving to go get my car. Back to find my last 37 later.
yes, heard that. one chirch decided to do the traditional, using qtips.
Interesting. In the Lutheran Church it is ash on the forehead. I had never heard of sprinkling with ash. Or is that a pandemic alternative?
The Catholic Church is ashes on the forehead as well. I think the sprinkling is a COVID thing
We are so touch paranoid these days
I never thought I would live to see entire societies turned into germaphobes
si 6/21, pls
it's said that the sprinkling is standard in europe
dear god, if i get one more customer service agent based in india, i will go mad
The first part sounds like Conway, the comedian who worked with Harvey Korman on The Carol Burnett Show. The second part is the first three in a ____ of credit you get from Visa
they suggested tyring the chat since voice was not understandable. but chat is as bad, thesyntax of written english is unintelligiable
What is up with that? Is India like the Mecca for low paid customer service reps?
apparently
except for fios. theirs is in the phillpines. lat time i called, a rooster crowed incessantly in the background. it wa hysterical.
i feel so bad... how do i say "your accent is so thick i cannot understand a word you are saying" nicely?

oops....
Second co6/27?
First one ends in double vowel.....
is that the one like a counter-password for spies?
if so, it sounds like a math thing to do with the pythagorean theorem and has a 7/40 to follow
Could you simplify that please?
Got it!!
Si6/21 please?
Nm! Fw!!
si7/32 is plural.
Waiting for the flip when I will turn chat off so I see no clues.x
hi everyone === PJ time :)
My favourite thing is to whizz through the grid as fast as I can to see how many words I can find on first pass before the Babble servers blips at 11am or real life comes calling.
Hi cybernan.x
148 - next grid size
240 is my guess. Mind you, it could be a disappointing 80. :(
If anyone wants a clue for this grid, speak now or forever hold your peace.
