6:29 am

and that got me the ra 8 and 10

sing it!

6:30 am

When it comes to Steve Goodman compositions, I'm more into "Lincoln Park Pirates" [personally happened to me!] and "A Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request." Sadly, none of those will help me with this puzzle.

6:31 am

I love Steve Goodman, but it took Arlo to make this song its best.

Ill have to look into those, Dauber

6:32 am

"Do they still play the blues in Chicago, when spring time finally rolls around...when the snow melts away, do the Cubbies still play in their ivy-covered burial ground.. Great song!

6:33 am

"Vegematic" always makes me laugh

did that get National airplay, or just in the Chicago area/don't think I've heard it

6:34 am

I've definitely heard both "Lincoln Park Pirates" and "A Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request" on Dr. Demento.

6:37 am

"I am my Own Grandpa" is also well done.

6:39 am

YouTube has clips for all of these Goodman song if anyone is interested.

6:41 am

I have not listed to Dr. Demento in years! Does it still play late night on Q 107?

6:43 am

No, he left terrestrial radio around 2007-ish, after WLUP in Chicago dumped his show. He decided that was a sign to quit radio. He does it online now.

7:06 am

defoosly

7:06 am

7:37 am

got them! ty

7:38 am

oh, I got the other 8 too. Need one more 7, hmm

7:38 am

11 to go.

but if I have 2 D's left, aren't they the de8/10? I have de7 and ly7

7:38 am

I have 2 Ds as well

7:39 am

no, the 8/10 is ra

7:39 am

2 x de7

7:39 am

2 x de7

7:39 am

and I have all the 7 8 9 10

7:39 am

well not 9.

I have a de7/8 set, so the 10 is related to that?

7:39 am

it's probably the 7 stand alone 7/36

confused because the 8 is already past tense

7:40 am

no, it's a separate coupling

7:40 am

ra8 and ra10

7:40 am

there's a de7 and 8 but that's a whole other thing

ah, thanks mael and ame.

7:41 am

yvw

7:41 am

Aw, Luther Vandross would have been 70 today. Happy Birthday Luther, we miss you.

well that was easy for the 8/10 once I had the right starting letters ;)

wow, we are old

7:42 am

I have no idea who that is, alas

that's because you are not old. and now I feel even older. alas.

7:43 am

Wow, it astounds me when someone says something like that.

7:44 am

happy birthday mael. a perfect square!

all my gray hair has sprung up during this pandemic

7:44 am

sometimes it's because I'm younger and sometimes it's because I didn't grow up in the US. I have no idea who any of the boys bands my peers loved are either haha

8:45 am

You literally will not allow yourself to enter a word you see because you are working on another letter tile?

8:47 am

good morning to you all!!

9:04 am

molly, if i think it's one i will forget to enter later, i put it in, but if i think i'll remember or re-see it, i don't

9:19 am

My problem is if I see it, my brain thinks I have entered it. So if I don't, then later I will try it and think "I thought I got that one".

9:21 am

i don't like these small grids, so many weird words IMHO, i like grids around 200-300

it's an odd word

10:26 am

10:27 am

yeah, it's weird

10:27 am

perhaps welsh or gaelic

10:31 am

11:02 am

He is, but you are putting too much pressure on yourself for it to be perfect. Its the first time you've made a fence. Be patient with the process and yourself.

He is always watching over us.

11:22 am

Kevin, the de7 and 8 use the word clued for bichon.

11:23 am

those were clued for me? Didn't get them

11:23 am

Hello bichon, I clued fo5/18 for you.

11:24 am

That word then occurs within de7/48 and de8/70.

11:25 am

ty Haz

11:25 am

You're welcome.

haz!

11:29 am

I am really stuck on this de7/36

11:31 am

It's the noun form of de5/18.

11:33 am

The last four letters form part of what happens to people in court beginning with t.

11:34 am

TO, nearly missed you there, was in the kitchen. How are you?

i am well, and you? and i thought the de5/18 needs an s?

ah, they are two different words. what an educational game.

11:36 am

I'm fine. I had a lovely walk in woodland alongside a river today, the birdsong was delightful and I spotted the first bluebells of the season.

sounds lovely. i ran errands and did some raking. i am just trying to tell myslef the salad i had for lunch is enough food.

11:39 am

Haz, we're doing that this afternoon

my goupr, whom i have not seem in over a year, hiked over 5 miles on saturday/ the ascent was so steep i wa gasping.

so i have resolved to drive to the hilly part of the local trail today and walk a couple.

11:40 am

I can walk happily on the flat, not so happy on hills either.

11:41 am

bichon, it was just lovely, I stopped a couple of times just to listen to the birds.

yes. doing yard chores is showing just how out of shape i am, since no gym

yes, it's an exlposion of birdsong last couple of days.

11:42 am

The 13 y.o. dog is bounding up the steep and I'm huffing and puffing

11:52 am

Has anyone clued the de 7/48?

11:52 am

Yes, still here, TO.

i am debating the odds that travel to france will be possible in october

local group is going.

11:53 am

de7/48 was clued at 11.23.

11:54 am

It probably depends on their vaccination programme speeding up, TO. Would you be keen to go?

there are other places i'd rather. if going over, would love to spend a month.

to see more.

11:57 am

i saw a headline suggesting that the vaccine problem in the US is shifting from limited supply to limited demand. and i said, well send 'em to poor countries that are willing to take it then!

haz, i have to go. nice to see you.

stqy well

11:58 am

I couldn't really advise you one way or another, but I would be cautious in making long haul plans.

11:58 am

You too.

12:00 pm

I need to head off as well. Happy babbling!

12:06 pm

1:42 pm

DE5/18........I don't really understand what she's asking for....I mean, I know she wants a clue, but what does it mean DE 5/18? sorry to be so dense

1:43 pm

A five letter word starting with DE that is worth 18 points

1:44 pm

It is based on Lickety's Babble Clues that you will find a link to at the bottom of the grid

1:44 pm

Molly thank you so much!

1:44 pm

It is not being dense. There needs to be a detailed explanation of this game that the HELP section does not provide.

1:47 pm

thanks Molly. i had the word on the tip of my tongue no pun intended!

1:51 pm

FIREWORXXX!

2:35 pm

Afternoon all

2:35 pm

Any clues for the do 5/16 please?

2:43 pm

Hang down your head Tom Do5

2:43 pm

Yep, I explained it to her right after she asked

sorry I missed it, just saw that you said it was from lickety's list but not that 5's are divided by 2, etc

2:53 pm

Hi. Back from chiropractor. Now I need to figure out how to transfer a word I find on lickety to the puzzle on Babble. That can be your next job, Molly! :)

I do it the other way, I enter them here and then transfer to lickety

3:03 pm

6:14 pm

I used to play alot of monopoly. I can't stand it now - I tried to play with my kids - it was torture.

6:15 pm

but that makes sense, since being in Atlantic City in real life is torturous as well.

6:56 pm

it was meant to be torturous, and to illustrate the evils of capitalism.

6:57 pm

and handily, it includes universal basic income :-)

7:18 pm

phantom fedora

7:18 pm
