tutrafosser!? wish it was a word

6:52 am

heh heh heh

7:06 am

A 7-letter word would help, dauber.

7:06 am

Like the an7/48?

7:07 am

(That's the only 7-letter word I have.)

7:07 am

That is my only 7.

7:13 am

co7/36

7:13 am

That's an easy one; too early for me though!

7:18 am

Actually, make that co7/36 x 2

7:21 am

I am searching.

7:21 am

Think Hartford.

7:23 am

Connecticut?

7:24 am

Yup

7:26 am

In fact, the co8, co9, and co10 are based off that word.

7:29 am

Maybe I will see these words later.

7:39 am

Hartford newpaper

7:40 am

huh, odd words thx for the clues Bichon

7:41 am

Ah, Google gave me the answer. TY, Bichon.

7:46 am

It's the longest running newspaper in the US

thanks, bichon and google from me too

name that proper noun - gorilla researcher

Fosse

Fossey

ding ding ding!

took 2 tries, so just ding ding

hmm, good point

just monkeyed TU 5,6,7. Huh?

bottom T or 4th row?

not sure

want a clue?

sure

if you purchase you are a Bu---, only not B

do you know the "order of operations" for the grid stats to tell which T? I know sometimes it's still hard but some people don't know there is such a thing.

thanks

8:05 am

morning, babblers

welki!

8:05 am

(and i'm one of those folks who can never tell which word comes from what letter, so please share!)

and BTW, that is 4th row T

it goes top to bottom, left to right, so the first letter in that order will make the word.

the T's clued theoretically could be made with either T, but the first one in that order is the 4th row T. the bottom T will either be all TO or will be TR or TU with another T in the word if that makes sense.

actually, missed the 3rd row T, so any TO from the bottom will probably have to have the 3rd row T in it.

8:10 am

right side T's are all TO

and the 2nd row S will have to be SO because any SE will come from the first one

8:14 am

TTTTTTT, so many Ts.

yep, too many

8:15 am

uhm, i think i'll just continue

8:15 am

... 'as is' too confusing :D

so you're saying that cleared it right up? LOL

8:15 am

And I must get ready for hiking with 2 friends.

8:16 am

moliere's character is in the grid

just found TO4 bag from the bottom T, notice it has the 3rd row T in it, just like I said. :D

ooh, sounds fun, scrabbler. enjoy!

8:16 am

well, an alternate spelling of the character is

sorry, I don't know that, someone else will have to win the dings

8:18 am

outran

is that your plan on the hike, scrabs?

8:18 am

wasn't a ntpn - i'm off those

8:18 am

I bid you adieu with a free clue. YW.

8:18 am

enjoy, scrabs

8:18 am

thx scrab!

8:19 am

I can't run or I'll pee my pants.

8:19 am

8:41 am

Are you talking about the order of words played here? I thought that was common knowledge. No?

8:57 am

i have one co7 and the 10

there's a 10???

the 9 is a diff sp of the 10, and the 8 is the sing

9:04 am

Yes

yes the base word is 7 and the 8, 9, + 10 build off of it

9:04 am

Wow not seeing an 8

9:05 am

Got it.

9:05 am

Ty

9:05 am

awww the 2nd co7.36 is a heraldic thing of a nimal running - like a greyhound!

9:11 am

Was the clue of vegas for the N word? If so not getting it.

9:12 am

yes, what lights are common in Vegas, it's a gas

it literally goes straight down today, unless you were asking for the lower N, you never specified

Co7 clues please?

I haven't found the "shapely" one yet

9:31 am

9:34 am

9:57 am

good morning everyone

hey nan

9:57 am

Hey nan :-)

9:58 am

is it the shapely co 7 that can be extended to an 8 -10 or something else?

the other one that is the hartford connecticut newspaper

9:59 am

have no idea

well I didn't either until I googled it

10:00 am

is there another clue for it?

10:00 am

haven't seen another

10:00 am

stuck on 18. doing some other things for a while. adios.

10:01 am

hate googling for stuff

10:01 am

am a bit lost in chat what is the Hartford Newspaper clue about?

10:01 am

Isn't that newspaper one also part of a French phrase that starts with au and means well informed?

10:02 am

Yes!

10:02 am

Merci Une : D

10:03 am

My pleasure!

10:03 am

yes it is part of the phrase meaning currently

10:04 am

14 to go....

10:04 am

I guess the 10 is the spanish version

10:04 am

Or having very aware foot digits : D

10:05 am

o the 10?

10:05 am

oh

10:06 am

I think the french term refers to the latest gossip as much as anything

10:07 am

Yep

10:09 am

are the tus normal words?

10:14 am

If it refers to the latest gossip that isn't a very good name for a newspaper. : D

10:14 am

have tu x 5 -- how many are there?

10:15 am

lol - what makes you think you can believe everything in the news? lol lol

10:17 am

I've never seen the tu 6 that is a lot like a french cheese before

10:24 am

8 x tu

10:26 am

I've never seen some of those TUs.. also never seen the TA7/8..

10:26 am

missing tu x3 from the top left t then

10:29 am

all are probably the ones I am missing ibuxx

10:30 am

ta 7-8 please?

10:34 am

They start with the pastry

10:35 am

The 8 ends with an anagram of what you have blown when power partially goes out in your house

10:38 am

ty molly - new one for me

10:42 am

and yet another french one

10:42 am

just missing one tu word now

10:44 am

ty for the tu 7/8

10:46 am

there is a tu 8? or did you mean 6-7? or ta 7-8?

10:46 am

no, there is no tu 8

10:46 am

ta sorry

10:47 am

16 left - going to have to list now

10:49 am

need clues for the tu 7s pls?

10:50 am

tu 6-7 think of the french cheese used to make fondue and change the first two letters to a t

10:52 am

swiss?

10:52 am

or maybe it is a swiss cheese, come to think of it

10:54 am

got them ty

10:56 am

I admit it. I tried "outfernal". It coulda worked!

10:57 am

lol freep

10:58 am

first tu 7/40 please?

11:00 am

it sounds like someone who helped another study... but adds something in there cuz they can't spell

11:05 am

can't come up with anything remotely close beginning with the 2nd col t

11:07 am

it's a very unpleasant word. similar to the tu6/27, but add it a conjunction

11:07 am

it=in

11:08 am

ty harry

11:08 am

it is not a word I'd ever seen

11:08 am

comes from French

11:08 am

way too much french today.

11:08 am

mais oui

11:09 am

and no baguettes or croissants

11:13 am

don't understand why you would say it is an unpleasant word. It is a word used in french to ask someone who is older than you or newly met for permission to use tu/toi rather than the more formal vous

11:19 am

*!*~*!* any clues wanted before I leave?

11:21 am

on my way - hagd eveyone - a demain :)

11:21 am

hello all....i see that Moliere is in the grid today... ;o)

11:22 am

lots of french in the grid --- some accepted and some not

11:22 am

good to know....thanks....

11:33 am

So...if not a "sexer", what does one call a person who checks the gender of chickens? ;)

11:36 am

a cross clucker

11:39 am

is the tu 7 clued a short time ago same first 3 letters of a word for the one who helps you study?

11:44 am

no idea....haven't been here that long...

11:44 am

hi pen

11:45 am

hi MLF>..

11:53 am

contratofu should be a word... ;oP

11:59 am

I will never understand the appeal of tofu

11:59 am

me either...

12:00 pm

Or tempeh

12:01 pm

If you put tofu in soup or sauce it takes on the taste of it.

12:01 pm

We like Beyond Burgers

12:01 pm

morning all

12:02 pm

hi mool...

12:02 pm

hey Pen, happy Friday

12:02 pm

to you, too...

12:02 pm

12:10 pm

Hi all. Just starting this grid now. I'll bet that SE4,11 word was the first one that caught everyone's eye.

12:10 pm

hey joy, happy Friday

12:11 pm

tu 7/40, pls

12:11 pm

do you have tu5?

12:11 pm

hi moo, I am glad it's Friday.

12:12 pm

12:12 pm

that might be a help bich

12:12 pm

i don't have either, bichon....

12:13 pm

I don't understand

12:13 pm

the tu5 is almost exactly the same as another t5 pen

12:13 pm

tell Mr. Bichon that he was an inspiration....reached Queen Bee last week... :oD

12:13 pm

Awesome. He's only found it 3 times

12:14 pm

almost made it a few days later, but I was short three words...

12:15 pm

the 7 is an extension

12:15 pm

I'm happy if I get to nice

12:17 pm

i always play to Amazing but I try to get to Genius...not always successful, of course...

12:17 pm

i often play in stages....like Babble...

12:19 pm

Sometimes Mr. Bich is play after dinner

12:20 pm

Queen Bee? I guess we have to call you Your Majesty now. : D

12:21 pm

goes well with my sainthood, don't you think?... ;o)

12:21 pm

It's a fun game. Great for Babblers

12:21 pm

is it a web game too bich?

12:21 pm

agreed...

12:22 pm

You need a puzzle subscription to the NY Times

12:25 pm

oh, interesting

12:25 pm

yes....that is what i have...i don't subscribe to the newspaper...

12:25 pm

I have a subscription to the times through work...will check if it gives me access

12:25 pm

We get the paper every day

12:26 pm

mine cost $39.95 a year, I think....

12:28 pm

is there only one tu 5/22?....i can't make a 7 word building on that....

12:28 pm

the 2nd one is 5/16

12:29 pm

mool said that the tu 7 builds off the tu 5/22...

12:30 pm

hmm I think the 5/16

12:30 pm

yes, the 7 builds off the 5

12:30 pm

I think it's off the 5/16

12:30 pm

ty, gemini....i will work on that....

12:31 pm

sorry, it's off the 5/16

12:31 pm

my mistake

12:31 pm

ty...

12:31 pm

Should have paid more attention to the stats

12:32 pm

found it...ty....

12:34 pm

Still don't have either tu 7/40

12:35 pm

the ending is in the upper left...

12:35 pm

i don't have a second one...

12:37 pm

I'm lost

12:37 pm

found the other one....tu + plaything + "one who" ending....

12:38 pm

ty pen

12:39 pm

the other tu 7....tu + "git *** foot off my toe!"..+ vowel and consonant....hard word to clue...

12:44 pm

ty so much pen

12:44 pm

yw...

12:48 pm

makes sense that my last workd would be to4/8.. a food that I hate..lol

12:48 pm

LOL...i said contratofu should be a word... ;o)

12:48 pm

*enjoying the goodies and drinks in the PB*....

1:18 pm

hi all help with co7/8/10/9 please. beautiful day here

I am sitting outside!

1:19 pm

went for a ride earlier with friends

google the hartford CT newspaper if you don't know what it's called for CO7, then ext. for the other words.

1:28 pm

Are there more Co7 - the one I have seems quite un-extendable to me?

yes, there is another

1:28 pm

THanks!

if I take better notes than a classmate, won't I outnote them?

well, i haven't found any words since I came back on. guess I'm truly stuck.

1:31 pm

You outnote us all ;)

1:32 pm

certainly outnoteworthy

1.6 WPT right now, moo

not a lot closed out

1:34 pm

I'm at 1.375 WPT :)

1:34 pm

8 words off of 5 tiles

16 left

anyfoe - describes a random enemy

1:38 pm

cootenany - a celebration featuring waterfowl

lol

or just a hootenany with cooter

and if you don't know, cooter is a good ole boy or redneck

found a word!

1:40 pm

yeah, though a friend of mine from Savannah used it to describe a certain piece of human anatomy

yes, also true

1:41 pm

so...was a little surprised when I first read it :)

E A FFF Y TTT O R T N CC

1:41 pm

E Y T U CCCC

will take a guess on the A

1:43 pm

between the second and fourth words

1:43 pm

or second and third for you :)

hmm. I have AN5, 5, 7, 4

1:45 pm

yep, you're missing the third one

ok, is that the noun spelling? I thought it was just 5 too

thx

1:46 pm

yw

1:47 pm

found my last e

ooh, what was it

1:47 pm

an e6

1:48 pm

I'm at 1.56 WPT now (or there abouts)

1:50 pm

found my last u

1:50 pm

now at 2.00 WPT

ok, don't have any E6

may I have the 2nd letter, P&TY

2:01 pm

Did you find your e6?

no

2:02 pm

second letter = x

do you have it or looking too?

oh, I was afraid of that. can you give the point total?

2:03 pm

6/36

ok, thanks

2:10 pm

Apparently I did not read enough Shakespeare

2:12 pm

;)

are you referring to the ex6? or something I missed? finally had to look that up even though I know I tried every possibility with that point total.

2:16 pm

yeah sorry, had to exit stage right before

found an F on my own :D

2:17 pm

fabulous

2:17 pm

Yes Carla, that is what I was referring to

can't say that I knew that one

2:18 pm

yeah...I had to dig in the nooks and crannies for it

how many OU's are there?

2:21 pm

one

ugh, nm. it was a plural from another tile problem.

found a C!

2:22 pm

cool

2:22 pm

66.66666% of my remaining words are Cs

only 1/10th here

still have FF Y TTT R T N C

2:23 pm

ah, found a c too

2:24 pm

now it's only 60% C's remaining

2:24 pm

nm, found all my c's

2:24 pm

2 words left...a minimal 1.0 WPT

4x2, 5x6, 2x7. finished 6, so I've got that going for me.

2:25 pm

2:25 pm

1.5 WPT here

2:25 pm

hopefully not allergic

youtube?

not here

2:26 pm

no, there's no b ;)

2:27 pm

found the y

what was the Y?

2:27 pm

toesex...no definition

2:27 pm

add a letter

I assume those last 2 statements are not related

2:28 pm

and my last was a singular that I had the 7 of

2:28 pm

correct

I already have a Y with a letter added

oh, so there's a Y7

2:29 pm

there's two which you need to add letters to

2:29 pm

no, the Y is a 5

2:29 pm

my last word was a t

I have a Y that is a pl 5 but the sing is 3. and I have a 5 that's a letter added to a possessive

so is "was a T" your way of saying your WPT is 0?

2:31 pm

so you're missing two y's?

2:31 pm

yes, my current WPT is 0

I need one Y, also have the building one

2:31 pm

then you need to add a letter

2:32 pm

there are three y5s

ok, got it

this is rough. may as well list now.

8 left

guess I could try to get the 4s first

2:33 pm

There's some odd words

2:33 pm

but I think you have most of them

well, can't even monkey 2 4's with 5 tiles open. have reached the PONMW. off to the list.

2:38 pm

good luck

first 4 I see (tu) I know I tried already

and the other, also tu4 I know for a fact I entered this morning. so annoying

had to look up the last one - TU7. I am quite sure they don't have spanish 2nd person familiar etc etc on enable. BS

2:59 pm

heh

ex6?

3:16 pm

it's a word you see in the stage directions for plays, esp like shakespeare plays, idk if they still use it, but it means for everyone to exit the stage.

3:18 pm
