funny A7 and H7 words !

Funny he he or funny weird?

Hi, Matty - they are normal amusing compounds; I think one is a movie title (pluraled)

I have one sticky ad7, but I assume that's not what you mean?

the Ai 7/36 (s) Brendan Fraser movie

what you breathe + noggin

Aaah - I should have seen that!

Aah - and found the HA - real words but yes, amusing! Thank you!

If you're an ai7 your plans might go ha7!

LoL!

Do you happen to have the ER7? Is it a weird one or a normal word?

have it and it is very strange prefix for 'before"

5:21 am

Weird Matty

5:21 am

It is actually an herb

it contains the australian bird

Monkeyed it. Yep, it's weird. Thanks

5:44 am

I imagine that Bea (our Master Gardener) will know it

love matty's clue for ai7 and ha7

Hi, French!

Thank you! :)

Would anyone mind nudging me on the he6/27? I feel like I should be seeing it but I am not

I have the HE cow, but not that one yet

Moo. I have that one too!

Well, I have it, thanks to morewords. Yeah, I don't feel so bad not seeing it

It's a large helmet, apparently. Who knew?

gotta it, thanks to that clue and Google

That's me done. Have a great day all!

hi molly and lurkers

7:35 am

Morning Carla. Jumping off of anything today?

no plans to

we just discovered our carafe was somehow broken since yesterday so now I may have to drink a coke zero for breakfast

7:40 am

Ew. You should always travel with a "Plan B" for coffee. A French press makes good coffee and is fairly portable.

we have a cuisinart single cup maker in the pantry but I'll have to clean it and everything. and hope I can find the little reusable cup thing for loose coffee.

he is drinking some starbucks frappucino thing he bought for camping last week but i can't find any allergen info on the carton or online. yes, a drink should be fine but you'd be surprised what they add to stuff.

he is mr. homie, sorry for random pronoun

7:49 am

Damn, I thought maybe you were off on an adventure with your boyfriend.

haha, just had to clarify. that's how rumors get started.

7:51 am

Too late

7:52 am

The other day we had Tandy, today we have Hume. Time for a Cocoon re-watch.

not sure I ever saw that

was that Ron Howard's first movie as a director? def. early in his directing career.

I remember all the hype around it, just never saw it.

7:54 am

Nope. His debut in directing was Grand Theft Auto.

7:56 am

Cocoon was his fourth movie, after Splash which gained him a lot of praise and attention as a director.

I forgot he did Splash

I have seen Splash

so hackee was a word yesterday. forgot to see if it had a real def besides what I think it meant. anyhoo, hiree is an actual word used but isn't accepted.

8:04 am

Interesting.

also it is hu5-er here than up in pen's neck of the woods but that's not accepted either

hi scrabbs!

8:06 am

I never did get the determination of which words get an er ending and which you put "more" in front of.

it's random

8:07 am

Good morning.

8:08 am

hello all...

8:08 am

Apparently hackee is a Brit word for chipmunk. I guess over there they had Alvin and The Hackees

hi pen

haha, doesn't have quite the same ring

8:11 am

rule of thumb ... ... one syllable adjectives get "er"; two syllable adverbs get "ier"; two or more syllable adjectives get "more"

8:11 am

TY, doseffing

interesting

littler

8:12 am

I'd use smaller

:D

8:13 am

I knew someone here would know that. When it doubt, post it on a word nerd herd board.

all these vowels are awful

8:16 am

Six E's is awful

8:17 am

anyone have the er7?

I'm surprised there are this many words in this ugly grid

8:17 am

it's the single one in 4th column

8:17 am

er5/12

I do not, shirl

8:18 am

I think she means 2nd row single E

8:19 am

ty molly.....new one for me...

well, I got the first 4 letters

8:19 am

8:19 am

Jeez Carla, a Google search of Geller gets you the rest

8:20 am

wow, ty molly, that is a new word for me

googled the spoon bender, thanks molly, pen, & shirl

8:20 am

yw...

ha! I'm not afraid to google.

8:20 am

name that mountaineer in the grid

oh gee, I have no idea on that

8:22 am

he was also a naturalist, author, and is considered one of the fathers of national parks in the US :)

8:57 am

8:57 am

*hands out kleenex*

8:57 am

Rex Harrison is great and Gene Tierney was one of the most beautiful actresses ever

not streaming anywhere, I'd have to rent

8:58 am

Watch it Carla.....it's kind of happy tears

8:59 am

streaming on vimeo

9:00 am

the one that gets me is An Affair to Remember....

9:01 am

That one was remade as "Love Affair" which was good but not as good. Warren Beatty/Annette Benning

9:01 am

Bening

I think I have seen An Affair to Remember

9:02 am

Also semi-remade as Sleepless in Seattle

9:02 am

i liked the original....such chemistry between Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr....snappy dialogue.....

I had a class in college that I can't even remember which one it was and the prof used to show us old movies

but FYI - it wasn't a movie class

9:03 am

well i went to a workshop on school law once and the presenter showed some scenes from the Andy Griffith Show... ;o)

I do like stats

9:35 am

No, it's that I was just joking Carla

10:27 am

all the T words are normal

10:27 am

same here...two pesky words left...i have tried UR 6 word possibilities with no luck....

10:27 am

well my missing T was backward

10:27 am

it is a pee tube

10:27 am

10:32 am

10:32 am

Carla, for future reference, when yo ask a question like that, are you wanting a clue?

10:32 am

*You

10:33 am

it's fine, if i'm on the list and asking about a particular word that means I've given up

10:33 am

ty dolly

10:34 am

yw :)

10:34 am

for some reason I got that and an he4 I missed today just the other day. why can I see them some days and not others? this is where it'd be nice to rotate the grid.

10:34 am

Okay, I know some people don't like clues unless they ask for them. Used to be you didn't clue unless one was asked for but nothing that used to be seems to apply anymore.

10:35 am

have we seen all the y words before? just have a yi 4

10:35 am

fireworks! here

10:35 am

yes nan

10:35 am

extend that word and then the other is a ye4

10:36 am

even tried a creative spelling of yahoo

10:36 am

well done dolly!

10:36 am

ty hokie!!

10:36 am

Yahu!

10:36 am

10:38 am

10:40 am

ty again dolly

10:40 am

yw :)

10:40 am

well, I'm going to have to look up a 5 because I can't even monkey it knowing the points and the first 3 letters

10:41 am

because there's too many darn E's!

10:42 am

It's a Vowel Bonanza. 13 o'dem

10:42 am

well, turns out hurshy's fave fr5 only has 1 vowel in it

10:43 am

ty carla - had forgotten that one

10:44 am

yeah, I think I've seen it here but definitely didn't remember it.

10:44 am

Now you have people looking for apple, banana, etc

10:44 am

missing one d - any ideas? have the 6-7

10:45 am

Pssst, she meant 5/20 and it is a really dumb word

10:45 am

found it

10:48 am

rehair is definetly a word -- just ask any violinist

10:49 am

*or any player of an instrument in the violin family

10:53 am

I think it is really odd that Enable won't take that one

11:00 am

13 and stuck

11:05 am

he 6/27 please?

11:07 am

I can't rem. if parisla said it was a type of french helmet or french for helmet

11:08 am

either way, the def doesn't help

11:08 am

I thought you always get the french ones

11:09 am

fr 6/42, pls

11:10 am

not the ones not used in everyday conversation

11:10 am

turn to ice bichon

11:11 am

ty nan

11:12 am

he+ symbol for gold + not you

11:13 am

Tx hokie!

11:13 am

Oh, trying to impress Harry with your knowledge of the periodic table?

11:15 am

ty harry

11:16 am

sorry that was carla's clue - ty carla

11:16 am

mu 6/27 please?

11:17 am

I know gold and silver and a few more

11:17 am

not very impressive

11:18 am

One of my face masks is the periodic table. Hi folks.

11:19 am

nm found it

11:19 am

I was watching a show where the husband who is the chemistry teacher is telling the wife that his favorite element is bismuth. And i thought "Harry!"

11:21 am

I have to admit I would look at someone in a funny way if I saw them with a periodic table facemask.

11:21 am

I get a lot of comments on it. That and the one covered in ancient runes :D

11:22 am

I don't get the whole "make a statement about yourself with your face mask" thing. Or people who post selfies in face masks.

11:22 am

So you like wearing things that call attention to you?

11:22 am

this lady at lowe's came right up into my space to look at my easter snoopy mask. I was rethinking having anything but solid colors after that.

11:23 am

If we have to wear them, they might as well be interesting. No, I don't like to call attention to myself. I'm just trying to have fun with it.

11:23 am

Kind of defeats the purpose of mask wearing.

11:23 am

That was about what Carla said.

11:24 am

*!*~*!* Thanks for the help :)

11:25 am

If I had to grade society as a whole on keeping safe distance, I would give them a D. Most people are terrible at it. People in my office building crowd elevators and never keep six feet from you.

11:26 am

Congrats!!

11:28 am

I am just so tired of being isolated and there is no relief in sight as long as there are still selfish no-vaxxers around us.

11:31 am

on my way - hagd everyone

12:10 pm

had to get out to go to doctor today, now home and staying home, she said maybe 15 % of patients had had the shots but mostly older people and they were having lighter cases because of it

12:13 pm

I feel very lucky that vaccination percentages here in MA are pretty great

12:13 pm

could be better! still comparatively great

12:14 pm

I would be careful of using terms like "selfish no vaxxers". We heard from someone here yesterday who has a legitimate medical reason (neurological disease) to not get the vaccine. Not everyone who is not getting vaccinated is "selfish".

12:20 pm

I should say that 15% is the number of vaccinated people they are seeing break through covid cases for not the percent of people in town who have been vaccinated

12:20 pm

that number per local health department is around 60%

12:23 pm

most of the bad cases right now are younger folks in late teens and 20s and 30s

1:07 pm

I just feel like its "here we go again" time. We are back to having to wear masks at the store again and it was SO NICE the few months that we didn't have to wear them.

1:07 pm

If I have to spend another Christmas without my kids I am going to be really sad.

1:19 pm

Those who can't get the vaccine because of medical reasons are exempt, of course. And what percentage of the whole unvaxxed are they? Maybe 5% of the population? We reach herd immunity when all BUT those who shouldn't be vaxxed have the vaccine.

1:22 pm

yeah about the masks I agree Molly it does seem sad

1:25 pm

It doesn't work to talk in terms of "all". "All" will never be vaccinated. There are those who will not due to religious beliefs. There are those who will not due to personal beliefs. Hopefully the rest of us will. And I am really tired of the term "herd immunity". We are not a bunch of roaming cattle.

1:25 pm

the ones that get me are the ones that compair asking people to wear mask to hitler ummm not the same thing at all

1:28 pm

There are people that feel it infringes on their rights. The question is, what is more important? An individual's right or the right of society as a whole to live in a virus free community.

1:48 pm

sorry if I struck a chord, Molly. I'm double-vaxxed, live in a state with higher than average vax rates, but I continue to wear a mask in enclosed public areas. I had Covid May 2020 for 14 days with lasting lung congestion and unprecedented anxiety for another 6 months. Pretty sure my nephew and girlfriend who were sheltering with me, but out every day without masks were how I got it, as I was working from home, leaving the house only to food shop masked, or take walks outside.

1:52 pm

We shared a bathroom. As soon as I felt sick, I sent them to stay elsewhere. They were (Americans) visiting from grad school in Europe and couldn't go back. They were vacationing in Mexico during their spring break, and got stuck, flew up here just as the border closed (already closed to Europe).

1:53 pm

ok, that's all I'm saying on the subject. Happy babbling, all.

3:33 pm

In

3:33 pm

In Community, sometimes you do things that you don't want to do because it's the best thing for the overall community.

3:34 pm

Hi harp

3:35 pm

hi ori

3:42 pm

Hi folks, does anyone have a clue for the er7?

3:47 pm

I haven't seen it before. It starts with "before" and ends with first part of a wall painting + vowel. Sorry I don't have a better clue!

3:49 pm

thanks Champ. That is an odd one. The ASPCA would have been investigating the way I treated my monkeys before I would come up with that one.

3:50 pm

Exactly! I'll never remember it.

3:51 pm

Or it will show up every day for a week and then sink back to the bottom of the Enable barrel.

3:51 pm

Well, there's that!

3:53 pm

feme

3:54 pm

rued

3:54 pm

Hi PMS. Thanks for the clues but I have both of those.

Take out the "\n" and see if that does it. URLs never have backslashes. "\n" is usually a carriage return/linefeed.

min, take out the forward slash and n. then try to open
