12:12 am

Well, that's dramatic. I'm glad you're not dying!

12:12 am

oc7

12:13 am

not seeing that co 7-9 combo, but then it is late for me

12:13 am

Sorry. Wasn't meant to be dramatic. Flip happened mid post.

6:17 am

Aha, TY for et8.

6:18 am

8:52 am

I'm going to hide.

8:52 am

Words only have the power you give them. That word is given a TON of power by women, which is why men bring it out as a big gun in a fight.

plenty would say that cursing is unnecessary, that there are other ways to express yourself. i say coffee is unnecessary...there's always tea. if someone called me that word, i'd shrug it off. but that's me. call me what you want, it's what i think of myself that usually matters.

8:53 am

Yes, well, 25 year old me gave it a lot of power when it was used in verbal assaults by me ex.

your ex is an absolute piece of trash, and i am so, deeply sorry you ever had to go through that.

8:54 am

Wow……..what a terrible man he must have been. I hope you didnt have kids with him.

8:55 am

Thank you. Than is why he is my ex.

8:55 am

In my world, tea is the unnecessary thing. Men like that are pigs.

even good kids can come from bad relationships, mkg. at least, that's what i would like to believe. i may be screwed up a bit, but i have learned who i don't want to be because of them.

and my mom is plenty proud of her kids

8:56 am

Any clues for bottom corner E words? Are they ex?

8:56 am

And he knew that word had the power to upset you, which is exactly why he used it.

MKG one is et

8:57 am

Leigh you are for sure right. I just meant that if there were no kids then they never have to be in touch again. Thats what i meant. If you share kids you meet over and over again.

8:57 am

I agree. Plenty of good kids come from bad relationships.

8:57 am

Ty untitled

8:57 am

I have two very wonderful daugthers with him. They are both happy and healthy women with wonderful children of their own.

8:57 am

Not people who have sole custody.

8:58 am

Part of the reason I left him was I didn't want my girls thinking it was okay to be treated like that.

YES, Bea! Because you raised them well and they know what strength looks like.

Thankfully, my father didn't really stick around after a while.

8:58 am

Very smart Bea.

9:00 am

A man like that didn't deserve you Bea. I'm glad you found one who did.

9:01 am

Glad your daughters are a blessing. Wonderful.

9:02 am

Any clues for bottom corner E other than et? I cant find et word either. Sorry

9:02 am

there are two et, et6 and et 8

9:02 am

not related to one another

9:02 am

Ty. Any meanings to give me? Ty

9:03 am

one's a chemical and one goes at the end of a list

9:03 am

I just got an et 5 from that corner E. What they used for anesthetic in the olden days is et 5.

9:03 am

oh sorry, it was a 5 not a 6

9:04 am

my bad

i always thought the et 8 was two words. huh!

9:05 am

Still not seeing et 8. Is it from the et5?

not from the et 5. it's a list finisher, think latin

well, made it to 30 left with HOET

and singing "reunited and it feels so good", because I am seeing words not there.

9:06 am

I still don't have the 9 or the 11

i'm also seeing a ton of phantoms

9:07 am

oh, all I had to do was lament because there they are

9:07 am

I dont have even a 7 yet.

9:07 am

I give up. Ta all

I only have 1 7, no 8s or 9

or 11

9:12 am

1 have 2 7s and nothing longer...

9:14 am

there's the aforementioned et8

9:14 am

the 9 and 11 are Cs

I hid while I was finishing the my first pass

but not the co9 I tried earlier

9:15 am

tks mael, i'm only on 2nd row...

9:16 am

the Cs are the real pain today!

mael, some of the spelling bee words from yesterday or the day before were ridiculous. I just don't get his reasoning on what he allows.

9:16 am

I don't either, some of his choices are really absurd

9:17 am

some slang, but not all slang! some science words but not even close to all "normal" science words

yes. I thought he was going with more normal words, but some of them, I'm like, who knows that?

9:17 am

I will never forgive him for missing UNDAUNTED though

9:17 am

It's a big mystery at Chez Bichon

yes, that was a big day 🤣

9:18 am

weird, because he had DAUNTED, which is less common than UNDAUNTED by a good margin

yes, I even said that in the email I sent that day

then I discovered he was getting hammered on reddit and twitter about it

9:19 am

I also emailed that day haha

I bet they got a very large amount that day

9:23 am

Why was that 11 so hard!?

is it related to the 9?

9:24 am

No

9:25 am

I guess it is.

hmm, mixed messages here

just found a c7 that is a regular word but no expanding it that I can see

9:27 am

If you focus hard, you will get the 11.

haha, thanks bea!

9:28 am

tks Bea, got the 11 !

9:29 am

woo got the 7 9 and 11

well, I imagined that was some kind of clever clue, but still looking here. CO, right?

9:29 am

and a 7 and a 9 !

9:29 am

yes, co

9:30 am

just think really hard hokie

eureka

9:30 am

they're all related via latin :)

oh no, only 1 4 left here.

have now tried itty twice for my last i

guess what, still not a word

9:36 am

probably a i7 carla...

thanks, monty

so twisty I didn't even look for it, just typed it in

and found my last A - top row gray!

9:38 am

np - 1st pass done: 5 7s and no 8s - bbl for last 34 - enjoy ! - poof

bye

9:38 am

I'm off for the day. If I go MIA this weekend, no concerns. Just a lot of backlog I need to get through.

bye bea!

9:39 am

cancels milk carton postings for bea

yeah, but what if she really disappears and no one looks for her for days?

9:42 am

I'm afraid for checking on people here as some are passing away

yep

9:45 am

oh, hah, I found a fruity 7

9:45 am

I realize that's life, but it's certainly weird when they're younger than me

how old are you now? 105?

9:46 am

getting there.. and finally wiser

middle row gray! think I will leave last 19 for later. TTFN

9:54 am

I've finally finished the Cs, hooray

9:55 am

Kudos!!

9:55 am

i'm missing three but finding them

10:02 am

well my last 8 is a t

10:06 am

must be mine too, then

10:06 am

oh, I found it!

10:06 am

te8/50

10:07 am

I unearthed it finally

10:08 am

and I finally got all the 7s too

10:30 am

good morning -- first word today was the 11 :}

10:33 am

stats of the 11 please?

10:35 am

co 11/104

10:35 am

thanks Nan

10:35 am

just read back in the chat -- guess there is a related 9 also

10:37 am

7-9-11 --- not how I would have spelled the 7 and 9 and they are not really related when it comes to definition

10:38 am

*have probably thoroughly confused everyone now

10:44 am

haven't had a necco wafer in a looooooong time. Hi all

10:46 am

stats for the middle column n please?

10:46 am

top row grey!

10:47 am

no6.21 nan

10:48 am

I keep seeing that nocturne phantom

10:49 am

found it - ty aloy

10:49 am

yw ..

10:52 am

is there a definition for the 11?

10:52 am

Thinking really hard

10:53 am

ty Molly

10:54 am

wasn't there a board game called co 11?

10:56 am

matching game I think

10:56 am

hello all...

10:56 am

hi pen (-:

10:56 am

hi aloy...

10:57 am

hi pen

10:58 am

Co11ion was also a TV show

10:59 am

Hugh Downs... ;o)

10:59 am

at least I think he was the host...

10:59 am

hi nan, molly....

10:59 am

Those pictures were always so oddly drawn.

11:00 am

yes...i used to have the game....new pics were accessed via a roller knob....

11:00 am

You can play online now. Password too.

11:01 am

that was helpful thanks!

11:01 am

i guess you can play most anything online...i liked my Tic Tac Toe game, too....

11:02 am

phantom: cocoon

11:02 am

good one....mine was contrary....

11:02 am

yeah that too

11:02 am

tried both of those

11:03 am

I found an intriguing word while searching morewords for the co 11

11:03 am

I was annoyed that the french for that wasn't accepted -- a lot of other french expressions are -- but au contraire

11:03 am

yes, i tried that, too...

11:04 am

FW! have a good day everyone

11:04 am

congrats....bye....

11:04 am

I think because the french is a 2 word expression in english it isn't accepted

11:04 am

bye mael, well done

11:04 am

wtg mael, hagd!

11:05 am

corner E has et5 and what else?

11:05 am

no one is intrigued by the intriguing word I found looking for co 11?

11:05 am

there's an et8 I don't have

11:06 am

but have tried a lot

11:06 am

et8 hurshy

11:06 am

I am intrigued meatball

11:06 am

well execute is a phantom... ;o)

11:06 am

lady on Seinfeld said it a lot..

11:06 am

thank you Hokie, it was cockchafer. I'll just leave that there.

11:07 am

et 8 is another of those foreign expressions and so forth

11:07 am

hmm let me think... elaine said "get OUT!" a lot

11:07 am

ohhhhhh

11:07 am

i didn't think that was all one word

11:07 am

yada yada

11:08 am

And get all of your dirty minds out of the gutter. A cockchafer is a beetle.

11:08 am

I thought it might be related to itchy underwear

11:08 am

I guess Yul Brynner in the King and I would be another clue

11:09 am

but yes, I did see it is a beetle

11:09 am

lol Meatball

11:09 am

when to sing: oncue

11:09 am

not seeing that no6.21

11:10 am

penny ending hursh

11:10 am

Yul Brenner was a great clue. Especially for someone who didn't watch Seinfeld

11:10 am

hmm, moo and I discussed et8 before when it was a phantom for me and he said it was 2 words, so I didn't even consider it.

11:10 am

like me... ;o)

11:10 am

ah yes, right Molly

11:10 am

oh dear - Hurshy is broke

11:10 am

ohhh i have that, i just was mixed up. i was thinking that no6.21 was mentioned as being the corner, but it was actually the left one

11:10 am

it is the corner that i don't have

11:11 am

nothing...

11:11 am

Carla, I hate to break your heart, but Moolingwa was not always right.

11:11 am

how dare you, sir

11:11 am

m'aam

11:11 am

the origin is two words, but the common usage is one word...

11:12 am

oh dear, hurshy is broken

11:12 am

i got it

11:12 am

thinking it was a 6 just threw me off, of course

11:12 am

retcon must predate enable

11:12 am

we would have to retcon enable

11:13 am

any other 8s people wanna mention?

11:13 am

I just have the one

11:14 am

seems like I just read ruru talking about a T8

11:14 am

co 8...

11:14 am

and te 8...

11:14 am

hey molly, do you know what kind of word retcon is?

11:15 am

missing the te 8 here

11:15 am

a sci-fi verb

11:15 am

well, I think it can be verb or noun, but I was looking for portmanteau from molly

11:16 am

the te 8 is related to the number three....

11:16 am

ahh thanks

11:16 am

retroactive continuity

11:16 am

I thought ruru said something about earth so I reckon I was looking in all the wrong places

11:17 am

11:28 am

hmm, don't have any te6, bichon. will look.

11:29 am

if te6 where ti6 it would be a nervous laugh

11:29 am

And if it were tu6 it would be a disapproving maiden aunt

11:30 am

oh, the skin disease

11:30 am

ty Vicuna

11:30 am

the first te 6 please?

Hi Penquis,

ah yes

peri, primary, secondary, and then te 8

2:11 pm

Molly revealed her babblets, definitely a fan

2:13 pm

THANK YOU LEIGH

2:13 pm

It's weird I played this game 10+ years ago, and it made me so happy to see it still exists. The Internet and mobile apps weren't so much a thing back then

xo

it is basically unchanged in all that time, though the culture of the game in re: clueing has changed a lot over that time.

three still to go

12 left here but I have decided to use the lickety list for those

2:15 pm

I'm stuck on ET 8

sophie it's a list ender that personally, i always thought was two words growing up

2:16 pm

Same Sophie

think latin

it's 2 words that are latin or latin based that are usually written as an abbrev.

ah, so i'm not that crazy, hokie!

nope

2:19 pm

I got the Et word with that clue, but I can't see how it connects in the puzzle

2:19 pm

Thanks hokie

2:19 pm

wow, thanks for the help Carla and Leigh

2:21 pm

ok, now I'll be awake looking up a song with that word in it

2:21 pm

There is no way you can make that word in puzzle

2:21 pm

Never mind

2:22 pm

Spelling it wrong lol

2:22 pm

I'm sure this is going to go on all day about the et8, but it can be spelled both ways. Two words or one.

2:22 pm

No n

2:23 pm

woo hoo for Google..... it's from the King and I

2:23 pm

I'm a stupid c 4/6

lol

2:23 pm

And in those lyrics it is spelled as one word. The song is A Puzzlement.

2:23 pm

To be fair, it's a nice word

I can't find either of the re7 😭

2:25 pm

NO 5 12 was used recently in a British cop show NOT a nice word

2:25 pm

sorry, Carla, not on RE yet

that's the no i can't figure out

2:26 pm

ON 4 put N in front

2:26 pm

No5/12 is not a dirty word

it's kinda like the kid in the corner with the pointy hat on

oh wait i have that...what am i missing?

it just means a stupid person in UK I think

of course nothing in the def about that but I could swear I've heard british tv characters say it.

which N, leigh?

2:29 pm

To the Brits no5/12 is a child molester.

oh it's the nu

there's nu6 that's a rodent

2:30 pm

I swear, I cannot keep up with all the differences in Brit vs American English. I'm about to give up on a book I'm reading because I feel like I'm translating in my head as I go along. "She took her rucksack (backpack) out of the boot (trunk)"....

lol

it's fascinating to me how different it is

2:31 pm

I know the nu6 because I have a Louisiana cookbook with nu6 recipes in it. Uck.

that is gross

2:31 pm

hang on, I'm still stuck on it, NU

kinda sounds like nu words that are in food

2:33 pm

got it, yuck

2:34 pm

thanks, moving on to O

now just down to those pesky RE7s

re 7: to say something under your breath again

2:35 pm

ok, I'll skip down and help you (time out for laughter)

2:36 pm

I grew up in Houma, La (between New Orleans and Lafayette). Although Cajuns routinely eat things that most other people wouldn't, I don't know of anyone who eats NU6. Wearing their pelts is a different story (but rarely ever needed down there). I'm wondering if those entries in that cookbook aren't just meant as a joke...

yeah, like possum recipes in an appalachian cookbook

I mean maybe those aren't a joke either. but I wouldn't eat it.

the other re 7 (i think babble ate my post), take the te 8 and cut the first letter and flip the next two

ty for the nu. i didn't get it but i never heard of that word before!

thank you. looked up the first one and now get the clue. the 2nd one was throwing me because I couldn't remember finding a word about mumbling and I was wrong about the 3rd letter.

you should google the nu6, it's kinda ugly

I only learned it sometime in the last 10 years and I don't rem. how/why. maybe when we went out west. anyhoo, apparently it is from south america and it an invasive species here in US.

you're not making a good case for googling. ha!

2:45 pm

Leigh, thanks for that RE clue

3:03 pm

down to 10

3:16 pm

Fireworks!

3:17 pm

Anyone need a clue?

3:56 pm

Et8 please?

4:10 pm

it is usually found at the end of a list of examples and abbreviated to its first 3 letters

4:46 pm

Think The King and I, Une.

5:17 pm

Love your babblet list, Molly - especially since you took the time to add the meanings of the words. Thanks :)

5:31 pm

stats for N in middle of bottom row

5:36 pm

play on being flat broke ;)

i saw a documentary on nu6 LA. they are promoting bbq nu6 and using the fur in fashion. they are destryoing th envirnoment on the bayous.

if you;ve ever seen them up close they are disgussting, but people i the program liked their taste.

5:53 pm

My mom lives on a small lake, and they hired someone to trap and remove them. They erode the shoreline...very destructive.

5:53 pm

fur? wouldn't think anyone would wear it anymore. now have to find what the nu.

5:54 pm

oh got it. yuck.

5:55 pm

but still, wearing an animal?

that's the idea...make the pest useful. who sould object except the most rabid animal activists? hobsons's choice

so many people who make their living on the water- or rely on it for their food- are hurting.

so when we kill them we should just throw them out?

6:03 pm

In Washington state they are listed as an "invasive species" and referred to as such. Makes it sound like the critters decided to invade. The truth is, fur breeders brought them to Washington in the 1930s to make money, with no thought to the environment. If you catch one live here, you are supposed to call fish and game for disposal, and not release it back.

6:03 pm

how will they know who to spray with red paint? I didn't say not to kill them, as it seems a necessity. the wearing is just creepy to me. doesn't have to be to everybody.

yes, i heard that. i am close to the bayou culture and there is real suffering. they are trying to use the meat and pelt to offset their loss. i think it's their decision; wheter or not the uses work, they will see. people do wear fur around the globe.

i get it, i get it. not arguing the point, just personal opinion about wearing rodents. not demanding anyone agree with my off-the-cuff reaction.

it is an interesing program. i think it's part of PBS independent lens series if anyone is interested.

this grid is interminable...

6:15 pm

TO, I recently discovered the WildEarth channel. They broadcast live 24/7 from Africa and nature and animal experts give the commentary. They drive around a preserve until they spot something, then stop and film and educate. Viewers can text questions to them. It's a fascinating watch.

6:24 pm

That's me done -- back to writing -- have fun all :) *poof*

6:44 pm

7:01 pm

I have 16 words, too, but I am ten points from Genius…..

7:03 pm

And I must have missed a longer one or two…..

well, I only have the pangram and one other 7 letter one, the rest are 4 and 5.

7:05 pm

Mine are all fours and fives except for the pangram….

7:13 pm

7:31 pm

Hehe

7:33 pm

7:35 pm

co9...incarcerated person + middle

7:36 pm

7:36 pm

convict notin grid. hmmmm

7:37 pm

dont see liar, murderer, thief, etc. struggling.

7:37 pm

think abbreviated version of word, mkg

7:39 pm

thinking. ty. middle is i guess what i am missing.

7:39 pm

ty

7:40 pm

i got it!!!!!!!!!!! ty. and the 7 too. ty. great clue.

7:40 pm

so any ideas on the 11?

7:45 pm

oh gee the 11 aND 8 IS A CO WORD TOO. wow. clues welcome please. ty.

7:46 pm

is the 11 a musical instrument? just curious.

7:48 pm

struggling

7:51 pm

mkg, it would be helpful if you refrained from posting things like "i got it!!!!!!!!!!!" It can blow the chat width

7:52 pm

It would take a lot more exclamation marks to do that, I think

7:54 pm

The co11 is not a musical instrument. As someone said earlier, if you just FOCUS you will get it.

7:55 pm

I haven't counted, but it is something like 26 letters/marks without a break that causes the chat to bust. That is why tiny url is encouraged for posting links

7:56 pm

The letters vary in width, and exclamation marks are very narrow. If she were posting a lot of 'W's in a row, that would be more concerning.

7:57 pm

Anyway, she was well short of 26

7:57 pm

fabulous clue gillie. ty

7:58 pm

i did get it.

7:58 pm

what does it mean to blow the chat width? i dont get it.

7:59 pm

well just missing an 8. so clues welcome. ty. also missing the bottom row O words. otherwise done. ty. so any help welcome.

7:59 pm

Sometimes the chat expands beyond its normal width to accommodate very long text without a break, and after that it is necessary to scroll sideways to read everything.

8:00 pm

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\n!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8:00 pm

65, I believe

8:01 pm

gee i never had that happen to me. i use apple. maybe that is why. anyway i will watch those ex. points. my chat did not change with your post.

8:01 pm

And it was a little too long - sorry about that Molly

8:02 pm

38 before it inserted the '\n' character

8:02 pm

desperate for the o words bottom o. any clues welcome. ty.
