left column gray, good morning!
good morning - jumping in
plenty of Babblets, a few tough med (?) words. all in all, a fun grid
Hi I need help with the O, the A in the second row and the E in the bottom left corner. Not having a great vowel day.
NM Found the E at least.
Diving in.
I don't like words starting with vowels either, player girl.
morning all!
morning dan. hi all!!
Hi Dan and Peri. I have not liked this grid.
concur
it's not too bad
Hi Doren
Hi Scrabbs
Have you been kayaking, Doren?
just a bit. Not enough. Going to Martha's Vineyard on Saturday and wondering if I should try to figure out how to get it up on the old roof racks which I haven't used in many years.
I am so jealous
there's big sharks out there doren :D
I love Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
We won't go out too far in the ocean. We actually like hiking, biking, reading, and cooking more than beaching. My son and son in law do not like beaches at all, which I can't understand
Never been to Nantucket, but I have such great memories of the Vinyard
I've never heard of anyone who didn't like beaches
We like it out in Chilmark, or other less populated areas. Farm land, meadows, etc. David doesn't, ru
I can't wait to be sitting by the ocean soon
Mr. B and he grew up in Miami
weird Doren.
I know. He's great at sand castles though
howdy folks
We had a beach tent and would play Scrabble
howdy carla
hi hokes
Hi Hokie
i was listening to an author on NPR yesterday talk about how Europeans didn't think of the beach as a place civilized people even went to until doctors started prescribing "sea air" for health in the 1700's. Now, we spend billions on beach vacation resorts
anyone have oaties for breakfast? seems like that should be a word. 😜
64 left and I am done. I need to shop for mom.
hi/bye, scrabbs
bye scrabs
interesting dan
dan, we have a place near us called the Salt Suite and they call the inside a salt cave and you go and breathe in salt air I looked at their website because on the door it mentions helping eczema, which one of my kids struggles with. anyhoo, looks like some snake oil hooey to me.
I don't like this puzzle
yeah, I'm not sure it's medically sound advice at all, but I'm fascinated by the cultural shift that made it socially acceptable and then desirable...
sorry, I missed a period or two there.
the book is "The Last Resort" by Sarah Stodola
does she mention Saltair on the Great Salt Lake? we stumbled onto that and I read a little about it.
hi all!
OMG, hi Harry!
happy summer!
don't call it a comeback, he's been here for years
hi carla!
happy summer to you. anything going on?
nothing to speak of :)
when does school start back?
greetings and salutations harry, hokie, dan, all
after labor day!!!
woohoo!
hi hurshy :)
howdy hurshy
ugh, you shouldn't ask that question in JUNE hokie, nobody wants to think about it
oh yeah, I forgot that's how they do it up north
it's almost July
I'm fine with speaking about not having work for the next 2.5 months :)
though I have a week course in july sometime
question should not be asked until august
phantom piece and all related words
we're up north and we start the last week of august, alas
I just fixed our a/c myself, no service call needed.
rhea
in NC it's Aug 25 or later. my family in VA and nearby TN start Aug 1! that's crazy to me.
sorry :) out of practice and all
awesome
anyone want to fight a woodchuck for me?
hmm, ha6, not able to be pluralized
How much wood is it chucking?
I like you and all, but not that much mael.
not until we get an answer to the age old question mael.
my cats might be willing to volunteer, mael
I rehomed one, but apparently there's at least another because it ate all my cucumber plants over the weekend
our new house has a bit of a mole or vole problem. I just know there's just a million tunnels in the yard.
Can anyone supply a small hint for the 9, please? I understand it's a PA?
if it was chucking wood I'd be cool with it. it's the vegetable destruction that's not allowed
golf term + ear ache
ugh, every time I tried to grow veggies, the squirrels ate everything.
found a pa7 but not pa9
help with top R over the H please
wow great word mael
think hawk, peri
I have the seven that fits Mael's description but clearly I' missing two letters ;)
yeah, wouldn't have stumbled onto that one
Found it!
Thanks
ty for the R!
oh, it's the mumps apparently
it's name of the conditions as opposed to the state of it, matty :)
Thanks - now have the related Os as well :)
it can be caused by mumps, but not always. This is where Italian helps, that's just the name of pain in that general area
not getting the clue for the pa9, ear ache?
Ts Toppled!
ot6, it's the medical term peri
ear infection
google the mumps if you're not opposed to googling
got it thanks everyone
I don't like the bigger R
ty mael for R word
i have 8 of those, out of ideas for what else can be there

morning all...ZOET!
hey all, 15 left
I wondered how many people find out meanings of words they learn through Babble? orra
FW! never looked up orra until now, apparently it's scottish
lots of Scottish and danish words. Cheese danish especially , ha ha.
welsh, Yiddish, bibical Hebrew, a few Spanish, not all today but usually.
don't forget some random French not usualyl used in English.
I don't think I've seem proper nouns but that doesn't mean there haven't been any.
only if they have another meaning
I learned creosote from this grid.
otherwise not allowed like in scrabble
but pa6 is dolly's last name but must mean something else too
creosote was a not uncommon word about a century ago.
To5 is pretty much a proper noun
it is, indeed, Kapalan
the neighborhood I grew up in was next to a train track so I've known creosote forever
thanks for the pa6- the pa6 of the Red Sea.
And then there's Dolly LLama
ahes
auices
Huh?
wrong box?
not even words
Seth
I did not find the pa words I am missing
they are pa7
thank you nan got the missing pa7 words
oh dear.... I have discovered octordle
I refuse to be drawn - Quordle is enough
The multi-board wordles i don’t like. I play babble, babble (es), Flagle, Worldle, Globle, Waffle, and Semantle
It is very satisfying to be able to solve 4 words at once.
I can imagine, but my brain gets overloaded trying to do that.
hello friends
hi trif
I love octordle and sedecordle. But also Nerdle!
And Squardle.
Octordle is the one I'm most likely to lose every day. For some reason 8 is harder than 16 for me.
i found a free spelling bee clone. but i would subsribe to the NYT bee, it's cheap
hallo. 32 to go here
harry!
hi welki!
cool pic you got there
i've missed you! how're you (all of you) doing?
pretty good. school's over, and I have some free time!
how have you been?
we're well - did some travelling in the spring, looking forward to more in the fall (bought a small travel trailer). we did some fishing, hope to do more
nice! we were in long island last week - had a wedding so we made a mini-vacation out of it
we started by heading for my aunt's house, in california, for her 84th birthday - then south, east and back north. of all places, we fell in love with utah
where on the island?
utah is so beautiful
rocky point - way out on the north shore - we rented a house a block from the water
we fished the provo river - gorgeous
did you get to the moab area?
oooh, nice! my oldest has rented a house for the family in august, about a half hour south of montreal, also on the water
listing my last 26.
yes!! moab was spectacular, spent about a week in zion, but liked kolob canyon more
great season to be there. it must be beastly in the summer. I was there in november
we're thinking about heading that way again in october. we got there too late (march) to be able to drive the scenic roads in zion. november would be great, but plays havoc with the drive home
too many people in zion (which is why we enjoyed kolob)
then again, who knows - too far in the future. just gimme a trout stream and i'm happy :)
it was GREAT to see you here, harry, but it's time for me to skedaddle. g'night, my friend
bye welki!
woo found ha6 on my own :)
I'm here for the flip.
