I'm new here. Question for Rainiqui: What does nbt and nbs mean?

Found it means she has found the word she was asking about. Done means she finished the grid. And usually the person then leaves.
Not showing off. Many who does this daily become very good. I have 49 so far. Half way done. But my goal is half way and nbt and nbs. So still a way to go.

Thanks for the ride, everyone. It's been fun and interesting. I think I'll stick to what I'm excellent at ~ word and number games on my phone while I'm in bed trying to fall asleep. I have a painful nerve disease which makes it difficult to near impossible to sit at my computer for very long. It's only when I stand up that I realize I've been sitting for far too long. I may come back from time to time as my body permits. So until then, enjoy yourselves, and remember ~ it's just a game.
You can also play this game on your phone. We all need time to gain confidence and skill in the game.

I'm not the one who posts all the clues. I am very good with nbt, nbs but after that it's all downhill. HOET is out of the question for me. After 60 words or so, my hands are going into spasms. I extremely rarely post "fireworks".
I agree with you about the big ones. Everyone should have a decent chance to post and have their moment of glory, so to speak.
Hi all. I am also slower. And often i dont get the large words from just the stats. But i ignore the grid when this happens. I still like to get nbt and nbs but need one large word for each stat and often cant get that. Now i have no sevens. The am is alluding me.
oh, it doesn't bother me, I just can't fathom how anyone sees them that fast. and the first 2 letters very rarely tips me off, I just have to stumble onto them on my own, so I usually just ignore the posts.

Turns out Squardle has bonus puzzles. Today they added a 499-word one called "Got Salt", and I don't think it needs to be completed in a day (although I could be wrong).
I read that in a pop-up but didn't look further. maybe later.
I don't think I'd enjoy a 499 word squardle. I max out around 90 words.

Just a question: what is the amount of time one should wait after the flip before "calling" words? And how hard should one have to find the grid before making any comments about finishing?

I am sure that you are a very nice person and I've seen how you'll assist any babbler who asks for help. That's very kind of you. However, a good number of us like to give it a crack on our own without having to resort to turning off the chat which would preclude our ability to banter with, maybe tease and have convos with our fellow flippers. We fully expect babblers to post clues at the flip. What we don't expect to see is babblers listing almost all the longest length words in the first 15 minutes or less. A little restraint would go a long way toward allowing others to have their moment in the sun. On behalf of myself and those who agree with me, I thank you for your consideration regarding this. PS - Just for the hell of it, I tried saying fellow flippers really quickly 10 times. After 4 successes, it turned into federal fibbers.
Fine, I'll stop making "calls" and saying "fireworks" and only do clues when asked for (morning and onwards).
don't take it personally, everyone does it at the flip, you're just better than most. no offense to the other flippers. they're just now seeing what it's like for the rest of us normal folks when they do it.

I am sorry to hear that. FWIW, I consider you one of the really good, fast players. I really am not trying to stir trouble or offend, just saying, that's how the rest of us feel when you super word nerds see them super fast. it doesn't bother me, I just don't look or turn it off if there's too much flying around before I'm ready.
What I'm trying to say, probably poorly, is I don't think gremlinn is doing anything that others don't do daily, she's just doing it faster, so why is she being yelled at?

To be fair, I'd prefer being yelled at to vague insinuations. The latter are harder to counter without looking bad in turn.
Example: "gremlinn, stop posting so much right off the flip!" vs. "Hmmm, I wonder why so many Babblers have been silent recently...."
Just be direct and avoid the confusion.

I hate to sound like a broken record but what I've been saying is gremlinn isn't doing anything anyone else doesn't do, he's just doing it faster. so either have a time minimum for callouts or don't. but telling one person they should refrain but everyone else can post them is not right. And yes, I know, no one actually said that, but that's what it would turn into.

Gillie, if you come by, I decided to do the squaredle 499 word grid. have found 405 + 221 bonus words but have slowed down. will do the hints (i.e. list) now!
