Ah, a sensible school district, starting AFTER Labor Day.
I've never in my life lived in an area that starts after Labor Day.
We were always out by Memorial Day and in after Labor Day. They have changed the required number of school days since then. Like the last two weeks even matter.
In NYC we always went to June 30. Hotter than hell
I don't remember when we got out, but it was definitely not that late. my kids always got out around Jun 12th.
The last two weeks of August are still the most popular time for vacation. People run that through Labor Day weekend. Thus, the starting the day after Labor Day thing.
