i keep trying to convince my parents to replace the lawn with more like wildflowers and native plants and stuff, just with paths through it perhaps, but they don't want to
It's a lot of work. And if they have an HOA, that could be a problem. If they only plant some ornamental natives for pollinators, that helps.
