God I hate winter ðŸ˜
do you have snow, molly?
... one problem with big grids is working hard to get two thirds done and finding that you still have more than one hundred to find ... oh well ... maybe later ... luck to all
Molly L, I agree..... fall then back to spring is what I need

I've tried that ending on several words that should work but don't. Annoying!
:)
woot, only 9 more S words now (i mean besides all the other letters)
It has gotten trendy to add ish to words. Doesn't mean they are recognized words.
one of the few ways i'm trendy, i guess
i see one of everyone's favorite ON7 words is back
and pt6 too
dang it, what's that one?
I didn't realize on7 is a favorite
phantoms: noodle, needle
and soodle
yes
but can you clue pt6?
like an artistic person ending

hi ru
I really dislike these huge grids - too many words to miss
I don't like them either Nan
still 109 left -- guess it is time to look for pl's and pt's
what constitutes "HUGE" ?
anything over 250 for me
finding I'm not as sharp as I used to be - noticing a big difference this year. Not sure if it is age or living alone.
oh I hear that.. I'm not as sharp as I used to be either
sssoil
sorry
do you mean dddddirt?
still missing a bunch of 7's and 8's with no idea as to what they might be
1 groan!!!
more likely ssshit
lol put it on the board ru
I'm barely scraping by nowadays on my pun count.
Nan, was wondering about your shortbread. Is it an old family recipe? I am curious about the aging requirement
yes - it was my grandmother's recipe, but a very common one for scottish shortbread
Ingredients have changed over the years. I remember my grandmother insisting that butter made in the spring was too oniony for making cakes and pastries
We have become a bunch of dullards 😊
my recipe is 1 cup butter, 2 cups sifted flour, 1/2 cup of castor or icing sugar (sifted). Butter shoud be at room temp. and the secret is to knead it until it has a silky feel, then a bit more for good measure :) Form into long blocks about 2" wide x 1/2" thick and prick with a fork. Chill for 1 hour before baking in 300F oven for 1 hour (edges turn slightly golden). Slice when hot. Cool and store in metal container for 3 weeks. Storage time enhances the flavour.
Unfortunately, the shortbread has not been as "melt in your mouth" since the dairy farmers started adding palm oil to their cows' feed.
Wait, when is butter made in the Spring still around at Christmas time?
it isn't -- remember when the butter and milk tasted off after the cows first started eating spring grass? I have never had that problem, because shortbread was always a Christmas treat for us.
anyone have so8? i have put in a ridiculous number of compound words that are not it
don't have it, but looking
found a 7
the 8 definitely starts with "pop"
ty - add the same ending as for one who perfoms by him/herself
aha thanks
(with a consonant in the middle)
s's smashed :)
working on m's -- missing one
one uses the high-point letter
and there are two similar mo6 words
have 4 mo's and 13 mi's
5 mo words
have the mi 4/10
and all the mo words have the same third letter
down to 75 -- think I'm going to list - getting tired of this
that was about when i li**ed - it helps!!
missing the 6/24

na6/18 7/28 ... looks like a country
na6 and 7, like anatomy relating to the nose I assume. looks like a noun.
ok, thanks --i'll chew on that a bit
hmm, I would never think those two words looks alike. must be a canadian thing😜
*look alike
oh, looks like a country, the word, not a specific country,.THANKS!!
... nope ... it's just me .... it's what came to my strange mind first time I saw it on the grid ... it's what it sounded like in my head
I mean technically it's one letter off from a country
but in my head it's a zzhh sound vs a sh sound
well, I have 85 left and HOET. but no big ones and only found six 7s. BBL. or not.
*looking around an empty room*....
... hey ... it's a big grid ... and it's dinnertime ... and I'm supposed to be making stuff ... but the list is sooooo long
So dinner waits for Babble?
... she talking to her sister on the phone ... and I can avoid the sister like the plague ... so dinner can wait while I finish the "r" list
hi Molly, dose....
... oops .. gotta go ... and hide my screen
Clandestine Babble player
what babble players have to go through... :o|
I thought people only hid porn on their screens
apparently not...
I made potato bread dough tonight to bake tomorrow
nice...
this time with starchy white potatoes instead of waxy red potatoes to see how it's different. I really loved the red potato bread.
cool....don't think i have ever had that...
it was a bit odd seeing bits of the red -- rather purple after baking -- potato skin bits in the bread, but tasty all around.
sounds good....my father used to bake bread every once in a while in the wintertime mainly....
I bake it year round. Due to my barley allergy, it's annoying, but not impossible, to buy bread.
well i think he would have made it more often if he wasn't working 60 hour weeks...he seemed to enjoy it....worked in a bakery for a bit when he was young...also went to some kind of cooking school when he went in the army...that was before they handed him a bazooka and sent him to Belgium....
neat! how classic for his age group.
yes, i suppose....luckily he was able to soon ditch the bazooka to work for the headquarters unit....they found out he was fluent in French....
how lucky for him in terms of personal safety!
yes....but he was almost shot when he was stopped by a guard who asked him who won the last World Series....he grew up in Canada and had no knowledge of sports....and he spoke with an accent....
:/ War is reactionary like that.
yup....but overall he was very lucky....made it through...and so did his two brothers....
one of my great-grandfather moved from Germany to France to Quebec to Ohio, and had an accent, and fluency in German, French, and English.
how lovely that they all came home!
yes, very nice, especially for my grandparents....my father's family came to Canada in the early 1600s....moved to Maine after the turn of the century for a few years, back to Canada, and permanently to Maine in the early 1930s...
hi all.
